  • English rockers the Arctic Monkeys will return with a new, as-yet-untitled album on August 25th, Pitchfork reports. The LP was produced by Queens of the Stone Age’s Josh Homme and Simian Mobile Disco’s James Ford.

  • If you live and London and vote for independent candidate Jan Jananayagam to join the European Parliament, M.I.A. would love to give you a free song, the outspoken MC writes on her MySpace blog.
  • San Diego’s annual Street Scene festival will be held August 28th and 29th and feature the Black Eyed Peas, M.I.A., Modest Mouse and Jack White’s the Dead Weather.
  • A crew of nontraditional artists will be invading the Tony Awards as performers this year, including Dolly Parton (with the cast of 9 to 5), Elton John (with Billy Elliot) and Poison (for hair-metal musical Rock of Ages), according to the show’s Twitter.
