Eminem and Bruno’s MTV Awards Stunt Was Staged, Writer Says

After the now-epic collision of Brüno and Eminem at the MTV Movie Awards, a debate raged in the comments of Rock Daily and across the Net: Was the failed stunt — which featured Borat mastermind Sacha Baron Cohen dressed in feathers and a thong flying through the air and landing extremely uncomfortably on the seemingly shocked Slim Shady — staged, or was it scripted? Sources tell EW it was no surprise, and according to the head writer of the awards show, the incident was planned and rehearsed.

(Check out all the MTV Movie Awards’ memorable moments, from Brüno’s crotch shot to Kings of Leon’s scorching song.)

Last night Rock Daily spotted a Tumblr post by the show’s head writer Scott Aukerman, who was hired by host Andy Samberg and his cohort Akiva Shaffer, in which he wrote, “Yes, the Bruno/Eminem incident was staged. That’s all anyone wants to talk about, so let’s get it out of the way. They rehearsed it at dress and yes, it went as far as it did on the live show then.” So not only did Eminem get a face full of Brüno in front of all of America, he had to stomach a similar dose during rehearsals. Eminem, such a good sport.

Aukerman, likely being forced to adhere with MTV’s post-show “It wasn’t staged!” claim, took down that Tumblr post. (He had also gone on to detail bits that didn’t make the show — including one in which Samberg would have “roasted” Paul Rudd to the point of anger — and posted some rejected jokes, all of which are gone now, too.) Still, what are the odds Eminem would be miked for sound while sitting in the audience if he wasn’t in on it, what are the chances MTV would allow for a high wire stunt to take place over hundreds — OK, dozens — of celebrities if they didn’t control every facet of the landing, and how convenient was it that every camera in the house was ready to focus in on Em?

Still, many Rock Daily readers are convinced the stunt was a prank on an unwitting and P.O.’ed Eminem. Reader kett posted, “That definitely was NOT staged. Em was furious, and I for one do not blame him. Joke or not, no grown man wants another mans balls and junk in his face.” Other commenters helped spread a false rumor that Cohen was beat up by Eminem’s bodyguards post-show. Even though the incident was staged, it won’t prevent the Eminem and Cohen sandwich from becoming one of the greatest, most hilarious moments in MTV awards show history.

say what? | 6/2/2009, 9:50 am EST

Greatest? Most Hilarious? yea right!!! keep repeating that to yourself… maybe one day you will believe it… also Eminem has yet to comment… so all this plot at trying to defuse a GROSS situation that everyone finds DISGUSTING…

cbebop007 | 6/2/2009, 10:01 am EST

Anyone who thought that was real is a dope.

Theyrecoming | 6/2/2009, 10:14 am EST

Oh course this was staged. If you think Eminem’s ‘reaction acting’ was so good it fooled you, then you need to watch a deacent movie because your brain must be what as known as “slow”. And some people are still in denial (Eminem would never do such a thing!). Natural selection will take of them though, not to worry. The sad thing is that the whole reason the news comes out and declares that this debacle was staged – so soon after the incident is because so many people believed it. All those believers along with everyone involved with the God awful station known as MTV should all be rounded up and shipped off to a remote island.

hmmmmm | 6/2/2009, 10:15 am EST

Let’s think for a second. A comedian whose whole career is based on controversy and one of the most controversial rappers ever. One has a new movie coming out, the other has an album coming out. That would be a very lucky coincidence for both of them if it wasn’t staged.

cbebop007 is completely right on this one.

linda | 6/2/2009, 10:34 am EST

Hilarious? I didn’t see anyone laughing. It was uncomfortable at best.

Poopers | 6/2/2009, 10:35 am EST

Lies! Eminem was not in on the joke. Besides that of course it was staged! You could hear him because Bruno had a mic attached to his lapel. You could really see the little freak squirm! Now, it’s all just a matter of saving face .. er, bum.

Poopers | 6/2/2009, 10:38 am EST

Also, I’m thinking Eminem was selected because he was most likely the biggest homophobe/closetcase in the venue.

Cameron Diaz thought it was pretty hilarious!

Jojo | 6/2/2009, 10:45 am EST

Staged, not staged, it really doesn’t matter. It was just not funny!

jay z | 6/2/2009, 10:48 am EST

fucking mtv has become a joke now, after I watched that

J | 6/2/2009, 10:56 am EST

It just wasn’t funny, and still it can’t and won’t tarnish eminem. I dare any rapper to step to him with some weak ass rap about the awards, he’ll make them eat their words and wish it was them in that chair at the awards, it would be less embarassing!

Oliver | 6/2/2009, 10:57 am EST

Relax loser, it was hilarious.

Em T-bag | 6/2/2009, 11:12 am EST

relax peeps, this act was funny, I really hope it was real

Anonymous | 6/2/2009, 11:33 am EST

MTV should change its name. Do they actually show entire videos anymore? It is just crap TV now.

Lee | 6/2/2009, 11:33 am EST

No matter what it took balls to pull the stunt off.

S.O. | 6/2/2009, 11:35 am EST

What if it was Kanye West instead of this happening to Eminem? LOL

DM | 6/2/2009, 12:27 pm EST

They rehearsed this several times in the dressing room.

SLIM+SBC+MTV= REAL MAGIC :P | 6/2/2009, 12:28 pm EST

Keep arguing morons. While EMINEM, SBC and MTV are partying together. hahahahaha!!!

Who Cares? | 6/2/2009, 12:32 pm EST

Who Cares?

Anonymous | 6/2/2009, 12:33 pm EST

Certainly staged. Certainly funny. That butt on his chin was killer. And Kudos to M&M for being a sport.

MaX | 6/2/2009, 12:34 pm EST

Certainly staged. Look at way Camera hones in closely on M&M’s face a frame or two before Cohen’s bum lands on his chin. Certainly hilarious too…

Rocky | 6/2/2009, 12:42 pm EST

Staged or not, Bruno’s balls and ass Eminem’s face was totally hilarious. For all you Eminem Fans – Kiss Bruno’s ass too!

Anonymous | 6/2/2009, 1:01 pm EST

it had to be staged–union rules since this kind of stunt requires it meets union standards for safety. not clear eminem was in on it–his comments were most likely picked up by baron cohen’s mic. notice you don’t hear any comments from eminem as he’s walking awahy. it wasn’t really funny, btw.

FAIL | 6/2/2009, 1:02 pm EST

If this was staged – then it was an EPIC FAIL on Em’s part.

He now has photos and video of a mans ass in his pudgy face for the world to laugh at. LOL

RealTruth | 6/2/2009, 1:04 pm EST

Hey, you (all suckers that thought Eminem did not know it was coming): If he did not know, don’t you think he would have punched the guy at least. He did not even swing at him. Oh by the way, neither his body guards. They just pushed him and that is all. That was all rehearsed it seems logically. Don’t you see?

joe | 6/2/2009, 1:05 pm EST

All you people are stupid. Go to work instead to gossiping

Emily mo | 6/2/2009, 1:06 pm EST

Yeah MTV should probably change its name to RTV, reality tv because it is not music tv anymore and it’s sad. I can’t stand it. Andy Samberg and the Kings of Leon are the only reasons I watched the awards.

Craig Finch | 6/2/2009, 1:08 pm EST

If Em dont sort this i am sure one of his 8 million fans will,

Em illey Fisher had a thinng about you go fill her up boy

vic | 6/2/2009, 1:12 pm EST

Why are people so fired up over a goofy stunt that personally I, and many of my friends, found hilarious? People, lighten up and learn to laugh at yourselves once in a while. Does nobody have a sense of humor anymore? I think if you’re comfortable with your sexuality, a silly balls-in-your-face prank should not cause such an over-the-top reaction. I have plenty of straight male friends who perform all kinds of jackass hijinks in public, even making out with each other in front of others just for a few cheap laughs. Sure, it isn’t everybody’s cup of tea, neither are fart jokes, but there are people that do appreciate outrageous spectacles like the one performed at the awards show. It’s the kind of low-brow thing that most people should expect by now from MTV.

yamaha08 | 6/2/2009, 1:19 pm EST

Well it was crazy insane to see that, im still on the fence about it being staged..I clearly heard emimem say get this mother fucker off me and i dont think that mtv would let him say that without bleeping it..also followed up by are you fucking serious?? i woulda punched that gay bastard in his balls..

h_e_n_r_y | 6/2/2009, 1:20 pm EST

Eminem’s whole hip-hop career has been staged…

[And stop calling Sasha Baron Cohen 'SBC'... it's fucking lame!]

saltlick | 6/2/2009, 1:21 pm EST

this is entertainment 2009.

John | 6/2/2009, 1:23 pm EST

I think this article is Bull! They try too hard to explain what can easily be discounted.

Think about it, Eminem would have to agree to being ‘in’ on the stunt the way it happened as a way to Save Face. Otherwise, he got punk’d with some dudes junk. Teabagged in front of the whole world. Of course M would have no choice but to go along with the explaination……. now! I’m just not buying it, sorry. Eminem would have absolulety nothing to gain from this.

John | 6/2/2009, 1:23 pm EST

311_uplifter_ | 6/2/2009, 1:23 pm EST

yes, letting some dude stick his balls in your face will make me respect you more eminem. Still love relapse though.

Troy | 6/2/2009, 1:33 pm EST

I think it was staged, because if you looked at Eminem, he reared his head back as the balls and ass where in his face, not once pushing him back with his free hands, not even the bodyguards quickly came to his rescue until more than 30 seconds later. Eminem like all stars need publicity stunts to sell movies and cds and since he’s releasing a new CD, what better time to have Sasha’s goodies all up in face.

TheCoz | 6/2/2009, 1:38 pm EST

Can we take MTV out behind the barn and shoot it already? Think of it as a mercy killing.

Disclosed. | 6/2/2009, 1:42 pm EST

Has any one else thought that maybe its a little pay back? Eminem always rips it out of celebrities in his videos all the time..maybe its about time someone did it back to him?

John | 6/2/2009, 1:53 pm EST

It’s like I said, they got him…. he got totally punk’d.

Agree you went along with it, or you’ll look like even a bigger loser.

Does anyone really believe Eminem needs to have Bruno’s balls sitting on his face to get pubicity?…… or that he would allow it?

OMG!!! THIS IS GETTING BETTER | 6/2/2009, 1:57 pm EST

Some of the guys are spreading rumors that this was an act for Sacha’s new movie BRUNO. And there were shots taken after Em’s exit. Hahahahaha!!! This is just getting fucking better n better :P

CB | 6/2/2009, 2:03 pm EST

Only in a world without lawyers would a stunt like that be real.

Nick | 6/2/2009, 2:06 pm EST

I guess Eminem was learning how to act since 2004, since he certainly wasn’t that believable in 8 Mile.

me | 6/2/2009, 2:07 pm EST

i think the fall was staged but it wasnt planned which celebrity he would fall on.

em was genuinely pissed

crazykay | 6/2/2009, 2:10 pm EST

I feel really bad for eminem.he gave a good performance and had his night ruined by a guy who thinks he is funny but really stinks! It was not staged.eminem was really upset.

nena | 6/2/2009, 2:11 pm EST

I think Eminem’s got what he deserved. Smelling someone’s balls to prove he is not even a man.

fu'ckin A | 6/2/2009, 2:21 pm EST

I JUST WISH IT WERNT STAGED AND THAT COLEN’S BALL SACK DID REALY FALLOUT ON THE WAY DOWN AND T BAGED MATHERS FOR REAL….. STILL THAT LOOK HE GAVE WAS TOP A NICE TRUMP IN DA FACE AT THE TIME HE HAD HIS HEAD BK WOULD HAVE FINISED THAT ACT STILL LMFAO . :@)

Marvin8 | 6/2/2009, 2:28 pm EST

Eminem got punk’d, plain and simple. Then again, both he AND Cohen are pricks. If I were Em, I’d be pissed as hell.

Jane Carroll | 6/2/2009, 2:32 pm EST

I think it’s possible it was staged to a point. Perhaps Eminem thought Bruno was going to land in his lap or something as the joke. But I think the private parts in the face/ legs wrapped around his head stunt was something he didn’t sign on for. If that’s the case, even if he signed a release, no judge would allow that to be honored. It was a sexual assault. I don’t think he had any idea Sasha would do that. I was disgusted with MTV after hearing about this. I do think the writer is right about the stunt being staged by Sasha though, and practiced, but I highly doubt Eminem was there for the full stunt dress rehearsal. They probably hired someone as a double in the practice session. Why in the world would he let someone t-bag him on purpose? How does that help his image? Especially with his target demographic? Since Eminem hasn’t released a statement, I think the writer is lying about him being fully in on it. Not all publicity is good publicity.

staged or else | 6/2/2009, 2:41 pm EST

This had to be staged, if not eminem would have certinly beat him to the floor. Or filed a law suit against MTV. Dont be suprized when this two are in the same movie or music video together.

Evelyn | 6/2/2009, 2:51 pm EST

Dear Ones – It seems to me that you do not understand Mr. Mathers. He is a businessman promoting a product (himself). The press and interest generated by this incident is gigantic. Further he is known to be a great fan (and practitioner) of physical comedy. His image is protected because he knows that his fans will never believe that he agreed to this no matter what the MTV Executives say. The costs to him are minor and the benefits are great. Eminem is, and always has been, a marketing genius.

sizzlechest | 6/2/2009, 2:52 pm EST

can’t any of you retards read? Could this be any more clear:

Anonymous | 6/2/2009, 2:56 pm EST

Em would have beaten him into the floor? C’mon. That little douche couldn’t take his mother in a fight. Yeah, a real tough guy.

Anabee5 | 6/2/2009, 3:05 pm EST

I don’t think it was a prank. I think Eminem was really furious about the stunt. Anyways Anybody would be upset if someones balls was in there face.

Anonymous | 6/2/2009, 3:39 pm EST

i wouldve have gladly accepted Bruno’s balls on my face.

Anonymous | 6/2/2009, 3:48 pm EST

Think it over for a second; If you watch Bruno on the wires flapping his arms you’ll see just before he comes down that he extends his right arm and leaves it out so that he can get turned around into the correct position, so it was obvious from the start that it was planned. As for Em he JUST released an album after five years of being quiet. He wants as much face time with any camera as he can get to have everyone thinking about him and his new album. Some times in life you gotta take a shot in the mouth to be successful and I think that’s just what he did.

flex | 6/2/2009, 3:50 pm EST

What a sad stunt. M&M should be mad at himself for doing it.

Lyrical. | 6/2/2009, 3:58 pm EST

Ive said it on other post and still will.It was staged by Sasha but Eminem was not in on the joke at all. That is not a way to promote your comeback nor your new album. Also, they waiting two days later to make the rebuttle and come up with a new story that it was staged because Eminem is MTVS Moneybag and probably either threatened to sue or not do Period! If they didnt come correct on that. Also Eminem wasnt miked,Sasha was thats why you could barely hear Eminem say “Are You Serious?” Are You Fn Serious” And Called his crybaby On Punked” Bizarre and Berger King filled Bodyguard and said “Get this MF Off Of me” Lmao! Its all about Em not in on it and now trying to save his “ASSED FACE” Nuff Said….Lyrical….

Jane Carroll | 6/2/2009, 4:01 pm EST

I’ve heard a lot of people saying Eminem deserves this for being homophobic and that with the current media attention on gay marraige this makes a statement. I think they are right. This is such good PR for the gay community. The message is clear. “U don’t like us. We’ll sexually assault you! You better accept us or we’ll shove our junk in your face!” Any sympathy I had for the gay community has fled after seeing this stunt, if there is no public backlash from the gay community against Sasha’s sick “joke.” If this was a woman it would have been labeled as assault instead of a prank. What kind of people label this as a prank instead of what it actually is: assault? Sasha proved he was a sick man when he pulled this “stunt.” How come no one has questioned his mental health?

D3sp0+ | 6/2/2009, 4:04 pm EST

What am I doing reading this? Who cares? Hmmm, well I am reading it …

Mark | 6/2/2009, 4:11 pm EST

So either Eminem knew about it & got a face full of some guys scroat twice (according to the shmos @ MTV) or he didnt know about it & still got a face full of some guys scroat. Either way, Eminem can dish it out like its going out of style (making fun of so many people in his ’songs’), I am just glad to see that he got a taste of his own medicine. If anyone actually believes that this was staged & rehersed, then contact me about a bridge I have for sale.

IT´S FAKE, and let me tell you all why: WOULD IT HAVE BEEN REAL (eminem not in on it) then Eminem would already have come out with a statement, dissing Cohen ect. But they both remain silent, to let YOU ALL SPECULATE, that my friends- is how you build HYPE.
This is typical hiphop, remember kanye and 50 “beef”?

2 great (probably bored) minds fooling the world, big up! :)

Melissa | 6/2/2009, 4:54 pm EST

I’m an Eminem fan, but I’m still sure it was staged. Upon first seeing it I thought it might have been real, but I was just kinda surprised. And while I didn’t find it that funny I did get a little chuckle out of it. But when I think about it, of course it was staged. Both of them wouldn’t mind the publicity and they both have the ability to laugh at themselves and make fools of themselves for a laugh. And Eminen is not homophobic, he just caters to a homophobic audience. Either way both Em and SBC got what they were going for. It’s all people are talking about so good on them.

Nick | 6/2/2009, 4:56 pm EST

Sascha Baron Cohen’s movie distributor is Universal. Eminem’s music distributor is Universal. I think that sums it up.

dfjsjkhfr | 6/2/2009, 5:26 pm EST

mark, maybe you should keep that bridge of yours and jump off of it

fat pat olds | 6/2/2009, 5:29 pm EST

People are so stupid. How many times do they have to say it?

IT WAS STAGED!!!

Theres nothing to debate about it!

Rodney | 6/2/2009, 5:39 pm EST

That’s right. If you’ll notice MTV and Viacom are desperately trying to remove any video they can find of the event. Why? Probably something to do with Eminem’s anger and hoping this will go away and people will forget. But they will never forget this. At 36-37 Eminem’s best years as a performer are behind him.

As an individual promoting an album in which coolness and topicability is the main selling point, it is decidedly NOT cool by the standards of civilization to be internationally embarrassed in a stunt that not only has homosexual connotations, but RAVING homosexual connotations. As is the case with the tea bagging here which Eminem will never live down.

He knew something was going to happen, there would be a stunt but you can’t seriously believe any rapper of any repute would agree to a raving homosexual act in front of countless millions of people that even more millions will talk about.

Had one of his entourage beat the living crap out of Cohen, they would almost certainly be facing criminal charges. The easiest thing to do with millions of witnesses and the incident being recorded was to push him away as aggressively as permittedly possible-also because of the nature of someone hanging on wires suspended in air landing a solid punch might not be a given-the person might simply move with the sway of the motion of both the wires and air circulation from moving the fists. Certainly it could be done in a few attempts if someone really tried but again you have millions of witnesses.

If Eminem is going to beat the living crap out of Cohen, it won’t happen that way. Far more likelier is one of his legions of hardcore fans, incensed by the embarrassment, will do it for him without his even asking. It’s impossible for Cohen to avoid that retaliation at some point and that’s what will happen.

Bottom line: Eminem did not, would have not and would never agree to being publicly teabagged. Sacha Baron Cohen has put his life in danger for no good reason at all. Unfortunately, also as a result of this you can expect increased violence on people precieved to be gay (as if that wasn’t already prevalent.) All in all, very funny but a stunt that will almost surely have deadly repercussions.

Chels. | 6/2/2009, 5:46 pm EST

You gotta admit, it was pretty hilarious. I had no clue it was staged until now. Wow Eminem, i give him props. In his raps you always here him dissen on other celebs. lol now the joke was on him. Ahh he’s such a good sport. What a way to add some excitement to the awards.

myrin | 6/2/2009, 7:26 pm EST

Making a punk out of Eminem by forcing him to smell your sack is like the Holy Grail of punking someone. Honestly, how can you out-do that? Eminem has been totally dissed and been made a punk. Eminem would have never agreed to go along with what actually happened.

dndy | 6/2/2009, 7:44 pm EST

If not for the incident, I would have forgotten em had a new record out. It was silly and gross but hey, it reminded me to get his record. btw. There is no way in hell that was the first time em has been tea bagged. Ever see him with a woman? Hmmm…

Has anyone seen “8 Mile”? Eminem is not that good of an actor. The disgust in his face was not feigned. Although MTV is now trying to spin this as a prearranged stunt, and media outlets are quoting “sources” close to MTV and Sacha Baron Cohen to support their claims, OTHER sources have stated that Eminem was only PARTIALLY in on the joke, and had agreed to allow SBC to land in his lap, NOT to rub his bare ass and cod piece clad junk in his face. I think it quite likely that MTV quickly realized they had overstepped, that Em could sue them and SBC for sexual and/or physical assault, and have privately issued an apology to him, along with a nice hefty check, to encourage him NOT to sue them or come out publicly that he was duped into participating in their disgusting stunt. For shame MTV. Not only was it disrespectful to Eminem, it was disrespectful to the viewers at home, and it was disrespectful to Robert Pattinson, who was just trying to get to the stage to collect is silly award.

HipHopMachismo | 6/3/2009, 1:46 am EST

If someone deserved to be punked like that, then Eminem did. He´s a homophobe. He´s making jokes at the cost of other people, so this time it was him who got punked…It was the most funny and hilarious thing I saw since 10 years on an MTV show. And, it was faked…to let yourself get fooled. Look in Eminems face, he´s trying hard not to laugh…it´s all show and indeed was faked. And no, no man wants to have the balls of another man in his face, that´s really disgusting…that´s why it was so funny…cause Eminem is even more disgusting…:D

qg | 6/3/2009, 2:42 am EST

i vote for funny. yeah. definitely funny.

if it happened to me I’d be pissed though…

Bsmart | 6/3/2009, 2:43 am EST

Emenim cross dresses and and all kinds of crazy shit in his videos for shock value and humor. Why is it so hard to believe that he wouldn’t participate In a joke like this one . same with the other guy. Either way he’s an adult and he’s rich… I sure he can handle it and doenst need anyone feelin sorry for him

whiskey1992 | 6/3/2009, 4:27 am EST

It was so obviously staged. Eminem and Bruno were promoting their new releases and it gave Eminem a reason to leave. If any of you didn’t know Eminem went to a release party for a new DJ game within 24 hours after he left. He would have needed plenty sleep, time with his daughter and plenty of preperation.

mashall sux | 6/3/2009, 9:45 am EST

he sux his music sux his videos suck, the only reason he’s popular cuz hes marketable. he’s the rap games wet dream, young, harmless and white.

detroit soul soldier | 6/3/2009, 10:31 am EST

I can believe that Eminem knew something was going to happen but i dont think he knew exactly what was going to happen.

If you watch the video closely, the guy to the right of eminem punches BRuno a few times before pushing him off of Eminem.

AJF | 6/3/2009, 10:41 am EST

I’m not a particular fan of MTV but the whole point of the stunt was to get publicity and controversy, and that is exactly what is happening. So like it or not this might be one of MTVS most successful stunts, definitely most memorable. Also, if you’ve ever watched any type of comedy, some parts of its are crude so it’s not like this is ground breaking for a comedian to but his jewels in someone’s face.

wawi | 6/3/2009, 11:25 am EST

Em is not a homophobe. He cross dresses in his videos he does duets with the most gay singer Elton John.
He is NOT a homosexual. but he is also not homophobic.
This thing was was a bit. Cohen’s stlye is too say “we are going to do this” but when it comes time he does something not agreed too. A little like Andy Kaufman.

n*ee*waze | 6/3/2009, 11:28 am EST

Uh- oldbuthip, the award was given to Zach Efron, not Rob Pattinson. Get your story right before you post a comment for public viewing. Better yet, if you would’ve watched the show, you could’ve had a better opinion about the staged play. I don’t think Eminem would just sit there & let this big man-ass settle down slowly on his face. Plus, Em’s buddies were sitting right next to him, & they’re big guys too y’know, so why would they just sit still & watch bruno humiliate Eminem?? DUH. I’m sure if whatever that was originally scripted did not seem right to Em, he and/or his men woulda at least made Bruno get his prank straightened up during the moment. I would not be surprised at all to see a recap of this–or a parody about it in one of Em’s future mv.

Brandon | 6/3/2009, 12:00 pm EST

people damn!! think about it!! If this wasn’t staged.. wouldn’t you think eminem would have gotten up? he clearly saw he was coming down on top of him..

Its funny this one thing happens to eminem and people start calling him gay….

RSTU | 6/3/2009, 2:01 pm EST

It was funny. Still is. It’s not that serious. Move on.

mfingninja | 6/3/2009, 3:22 pm EST

Look this comes down to one thing MONEY! Eminem and MTV have made lots of it together. Anyone who thinks that MTV would do anything to piss off one of their cash cows is just plain stupid.

Nesto | 6/3/2009, 3:24 pm EST

Honestly, if any normal hetero male (let alone a celebrity and hip hop artist) had a guy lowered onto him in 69 position from some 50+ feet up, if he were even able to land perfectly like that, they wouldn’t have stayed in that position for 2 seconds, IF THAT. Btw, he had bodyguards/his posse next to him and it lasted what, 10 seconds at least ? If your friend sticks their bare ass in your face, how long do you sit there saying “are you f#$@ing kidding me?”

It wasn’t very funny, especially not with how pissed Eminem looked. Had he laughed, blown air into his crotch, or played bongos with Bruno’s balls… that might have been amusing.

cringe benefit | 6/3/2009, 3:50 pm EST

It wasn’t funny. It’s not even funny in theory.

It would have been funny IF cohen simply flew overhead and literally crapped on eminem’s precious little head.

LOL | 6/3/2009, 5:56 pm EST

It was staged. I love all of the NERD RAGE going on here. Big deal, it made me laugh and it was staged.

SlimShady2525 | 6/3/2009, 6:42 pm EST

it was stage, plus it wasn’t funny, i felt bad for him,
fuck bruno/borat

blah | 6/3/2009, 8:51 pm EST

roflmao! These guys are certifiably insane! It sounds funny to say, but I actually have a lot of respect for Eminem for taking part in that. He is actually a really good actor. Both those guys are really talented.

SS | 6/3/2009, 8:54 pm EST

I want the whole story. Rolling Stone, when you do the next cover with Em (which should be soon, considering his album debuted huge and you had the GOSSIP girls on your cover recently)… I want you to ask him about this. Get a good reporter and find out what the deal was.

I believe he went along with the stunt, but did not know Sascha would be wearing that and land that way. That’s what I think. I could see him letting him land on him and having a little convo, but nothing more. He looked SO pissed and walked off like he got taken advantage of (he kept looking back, like embarassed)… Please RS, get the real story.

controversy | 6/3/2009, 9:49 pm EST

Yeah…MTV people still know how to play the game. Artist know how to make a buck too! People, the joke is on us. (thumbs up to “playing the game”)

Moe | 6/3/2009, 11:49 pm EST

I thought it was hilarious…and fans of Eminem..including me know that he is out of the box…the way it should be…kudos Em…I loved it.

shady2 | 6/4/2009, 7:52 am EST

fuck you bruno eminem is the best of you.

Occam's Razor | 6/4/2009, 2:10 pm EST

My guess is it was staged but not in the way it went down. Of course Eminem will want to make it seem staged after the fact–otherwise, he just looked humiliated and a bad sport. Now he can appear just humiliated but willingly so. Eminem, like so many celebs though not the coolest, takes himself way way way too seroiusly. His ego won’t allow him to poke any fun at himself, especially not on gay stuff since he’s known to be “touchy” about that. Hmm… wonder why so touchy? Put it this way: the straightest people are usually the most tolerant of gays because why the hell do they care? On the other hand, violetntly homophobic people are often giving more away about their own latent tendencies than those who are chill about the topic in general. Think on it. Bottom line: Eminem is a egocentric, latently gay toolbag who simultaneously has serious musical and rapping talent. A mixed bag of nuts.

penis | 6/5/2009, 8:06 am EST

I wish he would’ve done it to Kanye West instead. Except not have it staged.

just agirl | 6/7/2009, 6:31 pm EST

Eminem looked CISED.
i dont care what anyone said, you could see it on EM’s face he was about to whoop borats ASS

badJet | 6/8/2009, 9:36 am EST

oh sure eminem was ‘in on it’
having a mans butt plopped on his face on national TV.
a deal was struck afterward for him to save face. heh heh.

KC | 6/9/2009, 8:20 pm EST

I’m starting to think eminem the homophobe is gay himself.

Peace brother Jerome Watkins | 6/10/2009, 10:58 pm EST

I am the Music Authority, -why wasn’t this prank discussed with me first!?? .for that I wish this Bruno Character (Sasha Asshole) woud have swooped down, and took a big shit in Eminems Face, cause he deserves it y’all, Ive had it with him, he’s a punk, and a cappy rapper,- so get the hell out of here if you don’t like my comments, cause Ive had it with you all go fuck off you morons!!!

blah | 7/5/2009, 7:53 am EST

Of course it was staged! God i hate americans!

blah | 7/5/2009, 7:58 am EST

if it wasnt staged the mic on sasha wud have been turned off and the wire holding him up would of been lifted so he wasnt sat on him… In reality one of the extreamly fat men would of hit sasha or at least pushed him away. Americans just don’t get British humour… THANK GOD!

Yeah Right! | 7/10/2009, 4:33 pm EST

I don’t think it was staged. Eminem didn’t want to look like the fool that didn’t know, so of course he has to act like he knew.

I have to say, THAT WAS AWESOME!!!!!!!! GO BRUNO!! Luv you man.

Hvqlkcpb | 7/13/2009, 5:19 pm EST

I'm not real | 7/14/2009, 2:51 am EST

It’s fake, a better question is why do so many people care.

K rox | 7/24/2009, 8:45 pm EST

I dont think it was staged. I believe obviously that it was all planned to happen to Eminem
but
he didnt know. a cheeky joke played upon his expense. This is why the cameras knew where to look.
