I think the stunt was trashy and not at all funny. The only thing about the show that was funny was “cool guys don’t look at explosion’s.” It had more of a SNL feel, but the rest was out there. First, if you watched the MTV Movie Awards live or taped and didn’t just see this video virally, you are excused from the conversation. Second, I always thought Eminem did homoerotic stuff like the Ken Kanniff skit and what not, so I don’t see why he wouldn’t be in on the joke. Third, who sits there unwittingly with another man falling down on them and ends up in that position? Isn’t there a point where you duck and cover your head. So of course Eminem was in on the joke.

i think what people have to remember is, MTV banned eminem’s songs from being played on their stations and everything for some time. this was after the FCC deemed the lyrics too explicit. so eminem had a rocky relationship with MTV but still performed. IF eminem didn’t know about this ‘prank’ (which is unlikley as he could quite easily sue, or even get SBC arrested if he wanted to) he knows that he sells more albums when MTV has his back.

I thought it was funny, but not staged. During the true live showing, the censors actually missed the first time Em said “Fuck”, and also, the sound completely cut out and they didn’t even show the nominees for Best Male Performance. All they showed was Em and his body guards fighting to get Cohen off of them, and after a minue or 2 Efron just walked up to the stage to accept his bullshit award. Oh, and the only good parts about the MTV Movie Awards are the skits if they’re funny, and the performances if they have good artists lined up for it. The awards are a joke, come on, Twilight beating out Dark Knight for best movie is complete bullshit. Fuck all the god-damned tweens that voted for shitty movies like Twilight and HSM 3 and the shitty actors in them.

What the hell happened to the MTV Movie Awards? They used to be funny and hip. This year, the host was unfunny, the “jokes” were awful, the production was sloppy, and the visual gags repulsive. Amazingly, when Eminem (Eminem!) left the auditorium, after having Sacha Baron Cohen’s junk rammed up his nose, he seemed the only person in the audience that recognized the boundaries of good taste had been breached. That’s scary. And no, by the look on his face, I don’t think Em was in on the joke, regardless of the spin they try to put on it now.

I’m not hating on Eminem but I think this stunt was vary smart of SBC. The reason I say this is because he used a top rapper to promote his new movie. You can question the people who go out to see it but by doing this, more people will go out and see it! He is doing exacley the same thing as Eminem does. Eminem involves other famous people in his songs to get publicity. Simple as that. He may genuinley dislike that person but that doesn’t mean he has to sing a song about them. It was all planned so that people would say “who’s this guy coming up dissing Ja?” It was a marketing campaight. Together with Em and Dre plus the fact he got shot 9 times, he came out on top. The quality of his debut album obviosly helped.

I’m not hating on Eminem but I think this stunt was vary smart of SBC. The reason I say this is because he used a top rapper to promote his new movie. You can question the people who go out to see it but by doing this, more people will go out and see it! He is doing exacley the same thing as Eminem does. Eminem involves other famous people in his songs to get publicity. Simple as that. He may genuinley dislike that person but that doesn’t mean he has to sing a song about them. What has Jessica Simpson and Amy Winehouse done to Eminem what justifies what he says in his song? I may be wrong but I don’t think they’ve done anything.

I understand that SBC done this stunt face to face but in principal, its the same thing. Em sings about doing things to other people face to face (ie to Benzino and Ja regarding physical violance and joking acts on the same level as SBC) but the main point is, Em has never had the balls to do it.

Ok so Eminem has made a statement saying that is was all staged and it actually turned out better than they had planned so everyone can stop stressing about it now. . . .but I do have to say I was nearly on the floor laughing when I saw this happen because all that was going through my mind was what if it wasn’t planned, I love Eminem im a big fan but that thought just made me laugh even more. I can’t stand that Bruno/borat/sasha or whatever he’s called but this stunt was in my opinion hillarious!!
