At a pre-trial hearing in the Chris Brown case today, Rihanna’s lawyer Donald Etra was informed by the Los Angeles District Attorney that his client will be subpoenaed and called to the stand on June 22nd, potentially bringing the “Umbrella” singer face to face with her alleged assailant in court, TMZ reports. Etra added that, as Rock Daily reported, Rihanna will cooperate with the DA’s request and take the stand at the preliminary hearing. Chris Brown was not in court today when the District Attorney announced the plans to call in Rihanna.

Also in court today, the judge rejected a request by Brown’s lawyer Mark Geragos to turn over police records regarding the leaked photos of Rihanna’s “horrific” injuries following her alleged February 8th altercation with Brown. Brown was charged with two felonies, assault and making criminal threats, and pleaded not guilty to both counts. As Rock Daily previously reported, Geragos claimed the leaked photos tarnished Brown’s reputation and possibly prevented the singer from getting a non-biased jury pool for his prospective trial.

Yesterday, Rock Daily reported that Brown broke his lengthy silence in a homemade video featuring Bow Wow. In the clip, Brown faces the camera and says, “I ain’t a monster.”

Why does she look like she’s wasted out of her mind in this picture? RS certainly could have found a far more suitable photo than this.

Clueless Cristina | 5/28/2009, 11:37 pm EST

I hope Chris Brown doesn’t go to jail.

It sad when we let the media hurt the chaacters of our young african americans. Not to say he was not wrong to hit her. But to try to hurt is career is sad. Chris Brown fans please continue to support his music.

get a clue cindy | 5/29/2009, 8:01 am EST

yeah turn it into race! shocking. its a crime to hit a woman. black white asian whatever.

get over the racial issue and so will everyone else! pathetic

No Reason | 5/29/2009, 8:19 am EST

There’s no reason to ever hit a woman. At the same time, she may have seriously provoked him. I know a lot of chicks that run their mouths thinking it’s ok just because they’re a woman. I’m not defending Chris Brown either, he’s a moron. I’m simply saying, before any of us judge, the actual facts need to be heard.

GNRBUCKEYE | 5/29/2009, 8:34 am EST

I hope Chris Brown’s pretty ass gets sent to jail and they put him in a cell with Big Bubba the serial rapist. Thatll teach him! The bottom line is this guy is a chump and deserves to be locked up. Oh and please dont defend him by saying “youre a hater.” You sound as ignorant as the man in question when you say that.

Ashley | 5/29/2009, 11:32 am EST

There’s really no ’side’ here. There’s only the law of the people, and whether or not it was broken. The truth is what matters in court. Let’s hope they get to it.

Personally I think that Rihanna needs to go to court and tell her side of the story and not leave out anything, most important besides the above is Rihanna telling the jury, judge and all of us that is watching and listening on this dramatic obstacle. riri needs to let it be known her part of what happened as well, and not blame everything on Chris. I am a fan of both Rihanna and Chris and I will remain a fan of the both of them, because there both very Beutiful unigue and talented Stars, and I enjoy there talent. People need to leave Chris alone we all make mistakes, I’m sure if he could take back that whole incident he would change the whole scenery, Rihanna would as well regardless of who hit who first we are all guilty in some way shape or form of Domestic violence yes! I am; I do admit to my hitting my man, and him hitting me (viceversa) its not o.k but it is what it is, and what don’t kill you only makes you stronger move on and get over it, but don’t try and hurt the other person by moving on and damaging there lives/career because what goes around comes around in fold “you no what I mean,” we are all human life is to short “Get it togather people.

BooRadly | 5/31/2009, 7:42 am EST

jesus browns supporters are delusional.

1. this ain’t about race so drop it already.
2. a “mistake” is forgetting to pay the phone bill, not bludgeoning your girlfriends face..”oopps my fists just accidentally fell on my boo’s face officer…repeatedly.. aw shucks “mistakes” happen right?”
3. His career is over because of that horrendous double-mint song..not Rihanna.

It’s science.

45 mafioso | 5/31/2009, 4:12 pm EST

So we give an oscar to a group who writes a song called woop that trick but crucify a young man that goes through with it. Irony.

Only god can judge | 6/5/2009, 9:27 am EST

Oh and for people saying yay rihanna and boo chris. Rihanna isn’t saying that. Obviously something is up right? so while everyone is posting on blogs talkin about the wrongs in domestic violence, do something about it or stfu. You know NOTHING. So i think you all are a bunch of silly willys just talking. Besides If we buy his music we buy his music. It has nothing to do with him and rihanna. So stop tieing them together. DOUCHE BAGS! You can tell those people are so white. Who says that. These people are young and ignorant. Thats just like haters. Obviously you don’t just hate him because of rihanna, you hate him because he has celebrity status, and fame. You guys are sitting on your couch watching him wishin you could pay for a concert. Leave it alone. It will blow over. Nothing to do with you. AT ALL. Sooo stfu. Postin on blogs, what lames. I seen this and was like yeah gotta set them straight. && stop singling out black people. Because first off, we’re much realer than any race, thats why you want our tans, dudes sag their pants and shorts, try and rock the fitteds and ones. YOU GUYS ARE JOCKERS. SO never come at black folk cuz you wanna BE US. I love chris and rihanna so pray for them both.
