When I saw Lady Gaga at Lollapalooza a couple years she was pretty funky and I liked her songs a lot, like “blueberry kisses”. It was almost like Vanity 6. Then when her album came out, it didn’t have any of the songs she performed and it was all poppy radio shit. I like the older songs. Maybe she sold her soul for a deal?

What I don’t understand is the fact that half of the people that enjoy bringing her down for her own work, Sure she has influences and a fashion sense that has been seen with some celebrities else where, but she’s a colaboration of the old and the new. If you don’t enjoy what you see pick up another magazine and read that then. . and if it’s your favourite magazine and your just disappointed in the cover then just ignore or tolerate, would it be that hard to just think “ah well it’s just some person I don’t like I’ll get over it’.. ?

Lady GaGa’s singing ability is actually great, yeah it sounds a bit weird live sometimes but give her some empathy, would it be that easy to sing in front of thousands of people when you orginally sang it in a studio that you were so comfortable in ? I imagine it’s not and really it’s great to hear some variation in her voice showing that she’s not so covered and ‘the same’ when she performs live. She’s a great crowd lifter and really interesting. She’s uplifting and original in my opinion.
Her songs do have meaning, they have a fair bit of hidden meanings under the ‘in your head lyrics’. I think one person said to review her history to see her drive and ambition and I think that’s a fair call there, in the past she was exposed to alot I think, apparently she was a stripper and a big time party goer along with the drugs. . . but can you honestly tell me what person at that age or before hasn’t been exposed to that ? she lived in New York City, and half of her songs are about the red light districts or getting with guys or girls or getting crunk & relationships. But so what, it’s enjoyable and great to listen to. She’s got the drive and determination to change alot of things and she already is doing exactly that.
And this is the part which I think is really unco . . why on earth would you question her ability and popularity with her long she’ll last ? sure we’ve had a bunch of one hit wonders and people that don’t last long, but Lady GaGa is indeed like Christina or Madonna in the fact that she has the ability to stamp her name and doings in pop culture and pop music. They re-invent themselves and bring something new to the world, yeah sometimes we don’t like it but sometimes we love it and GaGa has hit it this time. I’m sure there is many many bands in other genres that didn’t last long but I’m also sure that it’d be nice to give GaGa the chance to make something of herself and she is doing that, and doing it proud.

The issue about her sexuality is a hard one but I think there’s some sense with her point there. I think it’s great that she’s given the gay community an icon, they have heaps but someone so revolutionary like GaGa is something that is confidence driven for them. The statement about being bisexual from what I get from it is that she doesn’t treat girls like objects , yeah it sounds like that but it’s not. It’s a physical attraction of the body and gender for instance she likes maybe their bodies but she couldn’t see herself being in a relationship with a girl, but is attracted to both genders but finds being with a guy more suitable for herself , I don’t know that but I’m sure thats a way it could be put.
Look I don’t clame to know everything about her but I really like GaGa, I think she’s got something going for her, and it’s fine if you disagree but just keep it to yourself, or voice it but don’t go crazy about it, the simple “I don’t really like her outfits.. they’re a bit weird ” could do, not something like “Lady GaGa is some crazy plastic fake bimbo who sucks” it’s just unnecessary and rude.

i don’t really see the big deal about lady gaga (which is a ridiculous name); all of her songs sound exactly the same. it’s some bouncy electro beat with her stuttering out some lyrics to fill in the time. (p-p-p-pokerface, j-j-just dance, etc.) and the cover in all honesty scares me a little bit. i feel like she could be so much more attractive than that.

First off, I have to give her props for being a successful woman. I love seeing any woman succeed. But – there’s something I don’t buy about this girl. Something doesn’t fit, feels contrived, feels fake and I’m not talking about the fact that she obviously puts a LOT of planning into every outfit, every move, her character, etc. It’s beyond that and I find it perplexing that she’s gotten to where she is in spite of it. Even when you hear her in an interview it just doesn’t add up. I wonder if she feels like a phony when she’s alone with her thoughts (which I think a fair amoutn of people do at certain points in their life)? And I’m not saying that in a mean way either. I’m guessing she doesn’t believe fully in it all herself because I think that’s what’s leaking out and stopping her from really being able to pull it off 100%. Wow, some people on here are judgmental. Don’t lump all of her fans together and call them ‘idiotic’ just because they have a different taste in music than you do. Art is subjective, and just because you consider her lyrics to be trash, doesn’t mean that they are.

I like her music for what it is. I don’t look for anything deep in the lyrics… Because I doubt I’d find anything. However, her music is incredibly catchy and great to dance to.

I really liked her at the beginning of her career. She seemed like a decent person who really wanted to make it to the big time. She (in my opinion) has an excellent voice (like a mix between Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera) When she became like an overnight sensation, all that fame got to her head. With those REALLY racy vids for LoveGame and Paparazzi,and all that bisexual crap, she just seems like another talented pop star gone media whore. I really do hope she turns around though, it would be a shame to have another Madonna on our hands.

To the comment below mine (JUST SAYING), this girl actually CAN sing and is not just another 21st-century pop product like Rihanna or Ciara. I saw her perform live at the House of Blues in San Diego. Not only is she a good singer- she can play the piano (she played a song a’capela), can dance extremely well live (while singing), and is an advocate for the LGBT community, as she so proudly stated at the HoB.
People have to give this girl credit. She writes her own material, produces the tunes that makes her songs catchy, and is incredibly talented when it comes to making a statement and having her name know. This is ridiculous… I have read countless comments on here as well as listened to GaGa’s music, watched her videos, her interviews, and such for the last 9months. It drives me nuts when people say that she isn’t a true musician and she can’t really sing. People tend to think because her music has a very electronic sound, her voice must be digitally created in a studio. NOT THE CASE! Her genre of music is electro-pop, and so of course her music is going to sound this way. Try watching a video or two of her singing live. Often times, I prefer the live version because she’s got a serious set of pipes! Shes an AMAZING singer. Nuff said.

I hadn’t heard of Gaga until I saw her live performance of Just Dance on the UK’s GMTV on YouTube, and I was floored!! She has panache, style, great varied dance moves and vocal intonations. I hope she continues on her rise to the top, and I truly admire her qualities, no-bullshit attitude, and her ability to be open with herself and her fans during a period of time when people can be so judgemental. Her music is definitely catchy and brilliantly written. She’s one of my new favorite artists, and I hope to one day see her in concert.

I’m relatively OLD and I have to say that I’m surprised at how fascinated I am by Lady Gaga. She actually does have a very good voice, a lot of style and a lot of star quality. I can see why she got tagged as Lady Gaga. The similarities to Freddy Mercury are quite obvious. Shame on those who are dissing her for the size of her nose. Ridiculous! Lady Gaga is one of the most overrated acts in mainstream music today. She has almost no talent and definitely focuses more on her crazy outfits than her actual music. I\’m sick of seeing and hearing her wherever I go! Being influenced by Queen and David Bowie? Please! No one will give a crap about her in a few years!

This album is sticking another lifesaving funnel into the swamp of prejudice, greed, intolarance, cruelty which has been engulfing love, compassion, and dignity of humanity…That stinky swamp used to batten on the monsters “fears” of its victims and trap them by fiddling with their fears..It is high time for those martyrs to revive, abandon this burden of phobia together with the swamp itself and find their ways out through these enlightening funnels.

It is, for sure, the only one piercing the heart of the monster of monsters.
