Adam Lambert Talks “American Idol” Finale, Sexuality, Katy Perry

In a lively conference call, American Idol runner-up Adam Lambert opened up about his Idol journey, what he hopes to accomplish with his debut album, why second best isn’t all that bad, and whether he’s the reincarnation of Elvis Presley.

Lambert says he is more than happy to take the silver this year, and that he has absolutely “no regrets.” He enjoyed the entire experience, and wouldn’t have changed a thing.

“I know it sounds cliché, but I really feel like I won by getting to the finals,” he said. “To me, its not about the title of ‘American Idol,’ it was the experience. I made music, and I got to do a different performance every week, and I was able to use [the show] as a platform to get myself out there, and now I have a career. There’s no need to dwell on the negative. We should look forward, and be excited about an album and the rest of my career. I couldn’t be happier for Kris [Allen]. I think he’s immensely talented. I don’t think the title of first or second place really matters at this point.”

Lambert says he’s already started talking with various producers that he’d like to work on his debut disc, but says its still too early to tell which direction the LP will take.

“I think people are in store for a treat,” he said, adding that he hopes to have the disc in stores by year’s end. ‘I think its going to be a really cool album, and I’m excited to start working on it. We’re at the drawing board right now, trying to figure it out. My view of the record industry is it’s a little too specific lately. The labels tend to try to put one box around every artist and keep them in one genre, and to me, we don’t have to go about it that way. I want the album to have a cohesive sound, but I think it could be a collection of different styles with me at the center of it.”

He says he’d like to try to infuse a glam rock feel into the disc, but won’t be limiting himself. “I’m more about fusion, adding little elements of things into the final mix. I have that style of vocal, but we’ll see what happens. I’m kind of experimenting with that, and there are a lot of pop artists that are using the glam vibe in their music currently, so I think I’m part of a wave.”

Looking back on the whole experience, Lambert says his favorite performance during the entire season came during Rock Week, when he performed Led Zeppelin’s “Whole Lotta Love.” “That was a great moment,” he says. “Its an all-time favorite tune of mine, and I felt very empowered on stage, getting to sing that with the band.”

Lambert, who cites David Bowie and Michael Jackson as influences, says his first priority is “to try and become a recording artist,” that even if Broadway called, he’d have to turn them down. “I spent time doing the theatre thing for a number of years, and I’m not turning my back on it, but I’m definitely going in the other direction now.” He plans on releasing a solo LP, rather than teaming up with a band, as Chris Daughtry did.

Lambert has made many fans this season, including Katy Perry, who donned a cape emblazoned with his name during her appearance on the show. After the show he met with Perry, who offered him some sage advice. “I gave her a big hug afterwards, and she’s really, really cool,” he said. “She had some great advice for me. She’s like, you know just make sure you keep the friends you had before all this started around you, and keep them close; surround yourself with people who will keep you grounded.”

As to whether the speculation surrounding his sexual orientation impacted the final vote, Lambert simply laughed, and answered, “Probably.”

When asked by one reporter what Lambert thought of one psychic’s assessment that he’s Elvis Presley reincarnated, Lambert chuckled. “That’s such a compliment,” he says. “I don’t know if that’s necessarily the case, but it’s a beautiful idea.”

I don’t care what Adam Lambert’s sexual orientation is, the dude is a STAR, he is so outrageously good and memorable he will be an iconic star on the same level as Elvis, the Beatles, etc. etc. and Johnny Cash was probably smiling in the afterlife when Adam performed “Ring of Fire” on Idol, that was fantastic.

AnyaLA | 5/22/2009, 6:07 pm EST

this guy is something else!!! I’m so happy that I can witness somebody so original…different by a mile from everybody else!! way to go!! big fan waiting the first album to come out!!!

Tony Miller | 5/22/2009, 6:11 pm EST

Adam is unbelievably talented. Since Elvis was the ‘King of Rock and Roll’ and Michael Jackson was the “King of Pop’ it would be great if Adam Lambert would seek the title “King of all Music” by getting a #1 hit in each genre. He proved he could do it!

O | 5/22/2009, 6:13 pm EST

He’s unbelievable. Shattering. We haven’t seen such a crazy vocalist in a long long time.

Adam Fantard | 5/22/2009, 6:15 pm EST

I feel better, now. :)

wizz | 5/22/2009, 6:16 pm EST

Adam has a talent that few could ever match. As to his sexuality, so what. It’s his ability to fill your heart and mind with awe when he sings that should be on the forefront of everyone’s minds.

Carrie | 5/22/2009, 6:17 pm EST

Adam is the true star here, he will shine the brightest! We will be following you the whole way Adaam!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Keep em guessing | 5/22/2009, 6:18 pm EST

Thank you Adam for letting us witness your climb to stardome. We love who you are and what you can do. Mix it up and enjoy the ride. We can hardly wait for the first of many albums.
Love Ya

I’ll say it again, what a classy man. Adam, you have such a beautiful soul, it lights up your beautiful eyes. You are a bright light in this world. Hurry, hurry with your first CD, can’t wait! We love you here in Canada!

kathy p. | 5/22/2009, 6:20 pm EST

I never thought I would see someone who could be the front man for Queen again, but now I have….Adam would be perfect! And please, let’s see Adam and Steven Tyler together….that would be something! Adam, can’t wait to see you solo also and buy your first album!

Jeff | 5/22/2009, 6:21 pm EST

I hope his album is not full of that horrible screeching… he needs to figure out a way to do without it in EVERY SONG!!!!

A-A Sorrella | 5/22/2009, 6:22 pm EST

Adam is amazing. I think he and Allison (Little Sister…Tehe ^^) Should team up and maybe do a song or two together. I loved the ‘Slow Ride’ performance and had it downloaded onto my ipod as soon as it was on itunes. I love the whole rocker feel the two of them have, and if they did make a duet I would be one of those screaming fan girls on release day ^^

missy | 5/22/2009, 6:23 pm EST

Adam has left me with memories of an American Idol season like no other. I really don’t care that he didn’t win, in fact, I’m glad he didn’t, although he deserved to win. I really don’t care what his sexual orientation is, and quite frankly I’m tired of people asking him. He’s been so gracious when asked about it. He has every right to say “None of your business” because it really is nobody’s business, however Adam is so polite, and just brushes it off. He is a shining example in so many ways, both musically and characteristically. I would love to have a friend like Adam. In fact, we need more Adam’s in the world. His sexuality has nothing to do with his amazing talent. So what if he is gay or bisexual???… what does it matter? It’s a part of his private life, and we all deserve a private life. It’s not like he is some rapist or killer that’s out there destroying other people’s lives. People really need to take a deep breath and look at the skeletons in their own closets.
I agree, I bet Johnny Cash had a grin from ear to ear when Adam sang “Ring of Fire”. Johnny was a bit of a rebel and in some ways I see that charasteristic in Adam, take chances, know your limits, keep them guessing, and don’t bow to the critics.
Adam is the ONLY reason I’m attending one of the shows on the AI tour this summer, and I can hardly wait to see/hear him, but of course the best part will be a concert with Adam only…looking forward to that day.

noah f. | 5/22/2009, 6:26 pm EST

adam you should have won because your the greatest rock’in roll celebrity in the universe.peace yow you rockkkk.post by noah foster.announce my name on when you are giving a speech about kris

lori | 5/22/2009, 6:27 pm EST

Adam is an amazing talented singer. I haven’t felt this way about a performer in a long time. I’m just sorry I have to wait until the end of the year to buy his cd. I have downloaded every song his voice is beautiful on every one.

Patti | 5/22/2009, 6:28 pm EST

Love him!! Adam is going places in a big way. He is going to rule the world with his GREATNESS.

Jacky | 5/22/2009, 6:30 pm EST

No competitor in A.I has ever excited me as much as Adam Lambert-he has such charisma; true talent; and is incredibly sexy-he was truly on a different level to everyone else, and basically way too good for Idol.Kris Allen is a pleasant, but totally ordinary, singer.Adam Lambert is a superstar to be.

Lana | 5/22/2009, 6:38 pm EST

For the past few years I’ve only listened to New Age and easy listening music. Thanks to Adam, I’m rocking again. It’s like becomming suddenly 20 years younger. I’m pulling out my old Dio records & I SCREAMED like a fan girl when Kiss took the stage with Adam. He possesses a very special talent and his performances uplift.

My 72 year old sister was recently diagnosed with cancer and is facing a long and scarey battle with the disease. She’s been very tired and goes to bed early but she stayed up to watch Adam on idol. She would even call me after the show to talk about how fantastic he was. We both wanted him to win. He’s the kind of star who can give people hope. Music hope are good. Thank you to Adam Lambert. You are our American Idol.

retired calculus teacher | 5/22/2009, 6:39 pm EST

From the very beginning I did not think Adam would win – both cultural and social reasons. However, I do think he has the potential of becoming the biggest singing phenomenon I have seen in my lifetime. I love his singing and I am well into social security age. Best wishes, Adam. Your singing made me cry several times and no singer has made me do that for a loooooooong time.

DiDi | 5/22/2009, 6:40 pm EST

Adam you are simply amazing. Talented and smart. Can’t wait to buy your album. Hope one day you head ‘downunder’ and give us a real treat. Have watched you from day one and loved the ride you’ve taken us on. It’s been a long time since I was this excited about something. You are a Superstar in the making. All the best for a long and wonderful career.

mya | 5/22/2009, 6:41 pm EST

He’s a star and, to all appearances, just a classy, nice guy. He handled the oodles of attention graciously and he handled his loss of the title equally so. And I am ready for some glam rock. Didn’t realize how starved I was for it before become addicted his performances…I don’t even have TV. Just accidentally stumbled upon him on youtube videos.

True music | 5/22/2009, 6:44 pm EST

Adam is in a leage of his own when it cam to the other people on american idol, it just shows that the voters didn’t understand artistry when it’s strairing them right it front of there face’s.

Brittany | 5/22/2009, 6:47 pm EST

Adam! Please be the next Prince or Michael Jackson! Your voice totally eclipses any other voice on American Idol and your style his hot. And please don’t movies or broadway. Stick to music and you’ll fly by Kris Allen within months. Love from one Lamslut!!!

Jeff K | 5/22/2009, 6:48 pm EST

Wow! Bravo!!!
What a class act. Adam has style, heart, smarts and a great vocal gift. America is ready for a black president but not a bisexual AI. If europe was in on the vote he would have won.

need lots more Adam music | 5/22/2009, 6:49 pm EST

I am so gonna miss getting my weekly Adam fix! Hope we get to hear him again soon other than on the idol tour this summer.

Anta | 5/22/2009, 6:50 pm EST

A truly, humble star on the rise. I have a feeling that his debut album will outsell all other AI participants. Great job Adam!

Jay | 5/22/2009, 6:51 pm EST

Jeff, Please if you don’t like him why are you googling for articles on him. And the ’screeching’ thing.. that’s getting really old and its innaccurate. If you knew anything about singing you would already know that. The correct wording is incredible range and vocal control.

Ashley | 5/22/2009, 6:54 pm EST

I think Adam is gonna be so much bigger than Kris will ever be. Sometimes the runner-up is more successful than the winner. And Adam is gonna be the most successful runner-up in history. GO ADAM!!!!!

shauna | 5/22/2009, 6:56 pm EST

Can’t wait to buy the album. I hope he hurries up and gets his amazing self to Britain fast. He’s going to be a superstar. The only only person IMO with as much natural star quality as Adam was Elvis. Surreal beauty, surreal talent, Adam disproves the old adage, Nobody’s Perfect.

fantastic article, this guy has his head on right to be sure! we revelled at the likes of Bowie, Queen, Elton John b/c they PERFROMED, and we lapped it up. plus we liked the reinventions later. plus we never cared about ‘orientation’ Bring on more Lambert

I am happy now. I have thought all season that AI needed Adam more than he needed AI. I can’t wait to see what Adam produces when he has no constraints on what he sings. I want to hear the music he loves.

Oh by the way, it just came to me…To those who think the Kris vs Adam finale was a battle between blue state and red state, you are wrong. Check out Arkansas. The governor is from the Democratic party, the senators are Democrats, three congressmen (including the one representing the region where Conway belongs) are also Democrats. Arkansas has only one Republican congressman.

luv4adam | 5/22/2009, 9:19 pm EST

Thank you A.I. for bringing us ADAM LAMBERT. The music industry sorely needed the wake up. Adam…. you rock my world. Be true to yourself always, and stay grounded. I think you will be an incredible role model for future generations. Obviously, you have an amazing family. One of your many fans from Canada.

patty | 5/22/2009, 9:38 pm EST

Your uniqueness and grace make your fans love you more. Hurry up with your new album and your solo concert. I’m willing to pay hundreds of dollar to watch you sing again.

Mira | 5/22/2009, 9:41 pm EST

Aww, Adam is so amazing and I love that he always has interesting things to say. He’s articulate and great w/ the press.

Can’t wait to hear his album!!

Has anyone bought his “No Boundaries” song from iTunes? I really hated that song when I heard it on the show, but listening to Adam’s recorded song – it was really good actually (his vocals. The lyrics may be a little…stupid, but whatever)! Personally I liked his version more than Kris’. But they’re very different.

Jeff Roe | 5/22/2009, 9:46 pm EST

And his sexual orientation is… WHAT? Are we supposed to know this through mental telepathy or ?

New Zealand fan. | 5/22/2009, 10:03 pm EST

The last place I would be at this stage in my life would be to go to a rock concert, but honey I would hang up my apron and go rock and scream for Adam along with my kids, even if they pretend not to know me & roll their eyes up at me, the guy has the ability to wake up that inner child! And that R@B song – wow! What can’t he do!

Tom | 5/22/2009, 10:11 pm EST

Adam is Unique, gifted talent with an awesome personality. He is an inspiration for millions and his music is amazingly surreal, it is comedy and tragedy, Ying and Yang it makes him a true artist capable in any genere in fact he is his own genere i.e., He can sing a song like Ring of Fire making it dark and mysterious, and then ground you with passion and emotion with Tracks of My tears and then energize you with Play that Funky Music and finally mystify and intrigue you with Mad World. Adam, I know you will become a legendary performer. Keep it real. You are absolutely my favorite Idol contestant of all time.

ravengirl | 5/22/2009, 10:56 pm EST

When I see the ignorant few refer to this so-called “screeching” I can’t help but wonder if they would have also criticized Elvis, Bowie, Robert Plant and the like. Thank goodness most of us appreciate the talent of the amazing Adam. I for one will be happy to buy his album the second it comes out. Even better, I will look forward to his first concert — on his own.

Adam you are one of a kind, You are a legend in the making and I’ve enjoyed every moment of your RISE to fame, and can’t wait to see your Golden Etched Stardom. You are amazing, and extremly Entertaining. WE LOVE YOU ADAM!! KEEP ON ROCKING… :) :) ;)

Beauty | 5/22/2009, 11:09 pm EST

WOW!!! He’s SOOOO humble!!! And professional! I surely thought he would go the rock band route instead of being a straight out solo artist. So this should be very interesting, but he has enough going on personality and stage presence wise that he just might be the one and only successful AI lone rocker!!! I wish him success and will be checking for his debut! Can’t wait! *I hope he has a good publicist?!? It’s a long time till AI season 9!!!*

Kris Allen seems like a nice guy with definite musical talent. He’s cute and has a nice voice, but I don’t think charisma is learned. Adam Lambert, you just need to prepare for a rare ride into the stratosphere. And if she gets the right people behind her, you’ll probably run into Allison.

What a terrific, refreshing show AI-2009 has been. Kris and Adam are both winners. Adam, do your thing. My kids love you, they love Kris and we are praying for you and Kris to have fantastic careers. You see, we are some of those mean Christians that happen to love everyone……….regardless of ANY ISSUE. As it states in the Bible, “let he who has no sin cast the first stone”…..God bless and may your dreams become realized. Kris / Adam, you guys rocked the AI show.

I had not even watched AI until my friend played “Ring of Fire” for me on her Ipod. It took my breath away! What a wonderfully unique singer he is. I watched the final show and was very proud of him…you could tell he was truly happy for Kris. I will be buying his songs when they come out and would definitely go to a concert if one came to my area.

YolkyPalky | 5/23/2009, 2:10 am EST

If Adam surrounds himself with the right producers and songwriters, he could really catapult himself into legendary epic status in the music industry. That is my only hope, that he is working and collaborating with the right advisors for him. He is simply a phenom not seen in the industry for a long, long time.

Dunsa | 5/23/2009, 2:14 am EST

Adam Lambert is a gift from GOD! Thank you GOD for bringing this freaking, incredible man into our lives!

Adam, you have touched our souls with your kindest, your humility and our incredible & amazing talent!!

I haven’t seen this in a performer in at least 20 years and it’s about time someone like YOU came along!!!

Adam, you make me so proud being one of millions of your fans around the world and I hope you are escatic with the crown you are now wearing! You have been crowned the WORLD IDOL!!!!

Adam, get ready to be embraced by the entire world as our music “icon”.

All the best of luck!!!

Breath from NE Montana | 5/23/2009, 3:59 am EST

We have high expectations. I can’t wait for more of him! I hope he can meet our expectations and become another Elvis talent-wise.

Alanna | 5/23/2009, 6:09 am EST

Jeff
Thank you for adding to Adam’s google search total where he is still wiping the floor with the “winner”.

I hope Arkansas is really proud of itself and the embarrassing situation it has put Kris in. 40% of the vote from a states with 1% of the population! It must feel good being “American Idol with a disclaimer”. It must feel just as good going on talk shows and being asked about the runner-up more than about yourself.

Adam may be very sweet, humble and accepting of things but many of his fans are not.

It was interesting to see that the clip of Adam’s performance with Kiss was the most watched Youtube clip around the world the day after the results show, followed by the clip with Queen.

Congratulation, Adam! Not “Home State Idol”, much more than “American Idol” and truly “World Idol”.

grandma sharon | 5/23/2009, 9:35 am EST

I’m 64 and had pretty much stopped listening to music at all, except for a bit of classical. Then along came Adam, and I am jumping around my living room floor like an old hippie, along with my kids and grandkids…Here’s some “granny” advice, Adam. I’m so impressed that you are not apologizing for who you are. Your gentle self-confidence (minus defensiveness) is inspiring even to an old lady like me. Keep on being the decider in your life, Adam. Don’t doubt your own heart. You’ve won mine and millions of others and we’ve got your back.

Vegasguy | 5/23/2009, 9:44 am EST

In my opinion, the most talented Idol since Kelley Clarkson! We look foreward to seeing more of you Adam and your really HOT boyfriend Drake!

what ta talent adam has can not wait for your album, chris was great and i am sure he will be a big artist. but adam is has the whole package, and he brings a breath of fresh air with is performance he is world class.

Renee | 5/23/2009, 10:07 am EST

Although i think that Adam would be amazing as the new lead singer of Queen (i also love Queen) i think Adam is actually to good to join a band that has already made it big because i want to see Adam go far just as Adam Lambert and not attached to a band

magenta | 5/23/2009, 10:24 am EST

Adam has it all. the talent, the voice, the looks, the charisma, the sex appeal, the brains & the biggest most beautiful heart.
It’s good to know that I’m not the only one going crazy about the guy… he is going to be a real true SUPERSTAR. good for him, he deserves this so much!

leileea | 5/23/2009, 10:56 am EST

I am glad that Perry gave Adam such good advice. Adam’s career will soar and he needs to be gounded by keeping the good, well-meaning friends. A lot of mean, manipulative people in showbusiness, I hope Adam will make the right choices. From the looks of it and based on interviews that I’ve watched on him him, I think he can hold his own. he’s very articulate , very confident…I’n sure he’ll do just fine…(I hope he keeps Kris as his friend coz Kris seems to have it together too)

Max | 5/23/2009, 11:02 am EST

Adam is the greatest singer in the history of mankind!!! He’s like Elvis Preley to the power of Frank Sinatra multiplied by Pavoratti raised to the power of Aretha Franklin.

Seriously, do you people think about what you write? He’s a real good singer, but not exactly the second coming. He’s just getting his 15 minutes. Five years from now, I doubt anyone will hear from him anymore. I mean really, a few of his performances were painful to listen to. Try listening to him audio only (not watching him, just listening), you’ll see what I mean.

Adam is gonna shock the world with his success and talent. I think he’ll be the 21st century Prince. All he needs to do is keep his name out of the tabloids and stick to what he does best. Being crazy/sexy/cool. TRUE LAMBSLUT!!

Nikki | 5/23/2009, 11:15 am EST

I hate when America does this. They’ll vote for the boy next door, but will end up being fans of the runner-up. Sure Kris won the competition, but Adam’s gonna win the superstardom. But on the other hand, it’s better this way. Because if Adam were to be tied down to American Idol his creativity would be stiffled. Long Live Adam Lambert!!!

Mike in Seattle | 5/23/2009, 12:32 pm EST

He should not go on tour with Queen, but for a limited series of concerts, he would kill in that roll. From the amazing way he picks up songs every week and makes them his own, he would not need very much rehearsal time to rock the Queen songs.

That being said, he needs to make his own music. If he isn’t an accomplished writer, at least yet, I bet he has hundreds of excellent composers lined up with songs to sing.

angelgirlforadam | 5/23/2009, 12:38 pm EST

I am obsessed with Adam. I am always googling him..I have downloaded everything. Now I am going to the Idol site and watch his Whole Lotta Love performance because it’s his favorite. He mentioned in a previous interview he would love to do that song so I am glad he got to do it. I said I would never watch Idol because Adam didn’t “win” and I felt like he was cheated – but honestly I don’t think I will watch it because there will never be an artist like him. I quit watching it years ago and only watched because of him this year. And I only watched the last few weeks I caught his performance and was hooked. I do remember though at the beginning of the season hearing him one time and thinking…he was the best one – and I was immediately bored with everyone else and quit watching (until the end of course).

Janie | 5/23/2009, 1:16 pm EST

I mean no disrespect to Kris. He appears to be a sweet and loveable guy and he will sale some records, but I must be honest. Kris was given the title, but Adam earned it, owned it and is it. Not only should Adam be crowned American Idol, he should be crowned “The World’s Idol.” He’s just that good!!!

Some compare Adam to Elvis, but, I say a greater than Elvis is here and he is “Mr. Adam Lambert.”

Adam took soulful Motown song, inwhich is not easy to sing and brought its writer (Smokey Robison)to his feet giving Adam a standing Ovation. Adam took a Disco song and made a Ballet out it that touched hearts all across this world. He made “Mad World” a Master Piece. Adam made me think of Little Willie John a Blues Artist, when he did “Feeling Good.” OOOOh man!! A change came when he sung ” A Change Is Gonna Come” The song he did with KISS, I have never heard it, but the beginning part brought tears to my eyes. Wonder what Adam could have done with the song “Who’s Loving You”?

I could go on and on, but no one asked me to write a book. It’s just that when it comes to Adam Lambet, I have lots to say. He’s my idol and I very much want to be one of his true friend indeed.

Best Wishes Adam and you have my support.

politic | 5/23/2009, 1:42 pm EST

After reading some of these posts I feel that is important to give some of the commentors some perspective.

I work in the music industry at a major label. I’m not a performer but work in the talent scouting side (I’m not like the CEO or anything). As someone who goes to see “talent” all the time I feel it is important for some of you to know something.

There are more people than you think out there that are as good or far better than Adam. That being said, Adam was the best “talent” to be on AI since Clarkson…no question.

However, there is a reason Adam has not made it big yet. His voice, while having a very good range, is the type we in the industry frequently see where it really gets old after about 3/4 of the way through the first album. And if you think I’m wrong, there are plenty of albums you’ve never heard of with Adam type singers, and the reason you haven’t heard of them is because that type of singer doesn’t work in the long run.

Additionally, I predict that his first album wil do alright. Trust me, I’m in on meetings about sales pretty often and you can generally predict these things. Based on past AI sales and the fact that there seems to be a lull after the results show until the release, it won’t do what some of you think it will.

Oh, and one more thing, I’m no Queen fan, but Freddie Mercury was one of the great rock talents ever. Technically speaking, his vocals were so far superiro to Adam’s. Also, Mercury penned some all-time great rock tracks while Adam has yet to write anything that 100 people have heard of. So comparisons between the two are really off-based.

I’m sure some will read this and think that I’m jealous or a “hater”. I’m not saying he is not talented, he’s very talented to a certain extent. I’m just giving you a professional opinion not clouded like the AI judges who are pushing their show and trying to revive a shrinking franchise. I’m just saying there are many many Adam’s out there.

Cindy | 5/23/2009, 2:10 pm EST

Adam is the most incredible singer/performer. I have his AI album, as well as videos and absolutely love them. A performer of this caliber has been a long time coming.
Run with this Adam. You will be a World Idol.

deadrockstar27 | 5/23/2009, 2:24 pm EST

I know “politic” and can assure you that he is just an inter-office mail courier at a christian pop label.

That being said, Adam Lambert will bring back the much needed ghosts of Marc Bolan, Sweet, Slade, and early 70’s Bowie, while maintaining a ‘current’ edge.

adamfan | 5/23/2009, 4:06 pm EST

politic -sweetie – working in the mailroom at a label or as a secretary does qualify you as a expert – sorry. Adam has the IT factor. He is gorgeous and humble and IS going to be Iconic. He is at the right place at the right time. Forget what you heard around the water cooler – or how your boss tried to justify passing on someone like Adam. I say if there are other Adams out there – bring them on – the world needs more great talent – not the crap that the record companied try and ram down out throats!

shirley from shirley | 5/23/2009, 4:36 pm EST

Just another example of how Hollywood and the “elites” get it wrong when it comes to what they think America is into. Wrong again!

leilani | 5/23/2009, 5:10 pm EST

Dear Sweet Adam, you are the WINNER!!!
can’t wait to buy your CDs
A star is born Finally!!!
We have not see this star quality for a long while….talent, looks, charisma & full of compasion heart
we want to see more & more of Adam Lambert, yes make your music, be who u are & we love u all the way
Yes! our favourite is ” whole lotta love” & we love all the selection of songs u did on AI
CONGRATS TO ADAM!!! Keep up the creativity & be who u are!!!!
EXCELLENT!!!

Adam kinda sucks | 5/23/2009, 5:12 pm EST

He’s got two speeds; average singer and pretty good screamer. Gets tired after a couple songs of the same shit though. Mariah Carey had the same “gift”, so expect him to be fat and singing on the Today show 10 years from now.

Laurie | 5/23/2009, 6:13 pm EST

There was a blogger who said he was in the “industry” and that there are many singers better than Adam. WHAT??? My son attends the Berklee College of Music which is the premier institution for contemporary artists. Parents were given a show of their premier singers. They were fantastic, but Adam’s talent is out of the ballpark. He has a tremendous stage presence, a vocal range, and a public appeal that is hard to duplicate. For me personally as someone (like the other blogger) who is also “in the know”, I can tell you that Adam is going to be a huge star (already is), in the ranks of our most iconic rock stars. Just you wait.

AdamLambertFan | 5/23/2009, 6:55 pm EST

I am glad to hear Adam repeat the advise Katy Perry gave him – with everything he has been told in the past week and for him to repeat that tells us he is a good listner and he has taken it to heart – I am very glad she told him that she actually spoke to him for me – I would have told him the very same thing because when your career takes off everyone wants to be a friend but you end up getting hurt because they are not genuine. She 100% correct on her advice to him – THANK YOU KATY PERRY (by the way she is a friend of my hometown girl Rihanna and recently visited Barbados with her).

StudioCityDweller | 5/23/2009, 7:25 pm EST

I sort of agree with the music industry recruiter. Lambert is in the top three AI stars with Clarkson and Underwood, and will likely do similar numbers. But unless he finds or writes incredible songs in a very unique, fresh and genuine voice, all is lost. Which is at odds with the risk-adverse nature of the recording industry, which is terribly derivative.

fergie | 5/23/2009, 7:42 pm EST

I think that Adam is a potential star. I do not like rock of any kind, but I do think Adam has the ability to do any type of song. I love the Elvis type songs and I really think Adam would be accepted in that realm.

Regardless, I don’t think his not being Idol will hurt him. Kris will do fine also.

Missy | 5/23/2009, 8:15 pm EST

I am still reeling about Adam’s loss. It saddens me so much. I want Adam to make it big. I have enjoyed listening to his songs on my Ipod for the past 2 months. He is fantastic. I can’t wait for his album to come out!

Annie | 5/23/2009, 9:04 pm EST

Attention Adam fans! Go to adamofficial.com and sign up. It is his official fan site. It gives all his appearances in the near future. He is appearing again on Larry King Live, Monday 5/25 at 9pm EST. He is appearing in his first LIVE concert on CBS the Early Show on Tuesday 5/26!!!! He will also be on Regis and Kelly on 5/27. Also support him by downloading his iTunes studio versions and videos. Adam isn’t looking back and neither should we. Adam, you are such a class act the way you have handled all the difficulties you faced from the beginning, from the stupid photos to the hype and you have been magnificent. I am 48 and I have the utmost respect for you for this. Love you and God Bless you, Kid.

Cassie | 5/23/2009, 10:19 pm EST

Adam has that *magical* quality that comes around oh so rarely…but when it does…we are all raised up to a higher place because he gives everyone something great to look forward to.

Suz-eh | 5/23/2009, 11:20 pm EST

The former post stated that there are many singers out there with Adam’s ability or better but they are not successful because the vocals wear down the listener. You are a talent scout? I am a consumer. I buy the music. I buy the concert tickets. Have you heard of the “it” factor? I have bought all his videos and recorded songs on itunes. I have listened to them a ridiculous amount of times. I feel no monotony about doing that. Once he becomes a recording artist regardless of whether he writes his own material or not, he will be a mega star. It’s not just about the “vocals” he impacts us right through our soul with his interpretaions and imagination and persona. The Idol Platform, for which I am eternally grateful, has found us a hidden treasure. We didn’t know, and now we do … no turning back. He is the WHOLE package. Some successful singers are NOT great voices but have “it”. When it all comes togeher, it’s magical. Not to be deliberated, measured or disected. It just IS. That is Adam Lambert and you just passed on a legend in the making. You’re Fired!

OldMan | 5/24/2009, 2:00 am EST

Adam seems to be a class act. This old man was finally impressed enough to watch Idol this year and even made the attempt to vote for the final (unsuccessfully). Loved his look and even more, loved the voice and his interpretations. It seemed he listened to the advice he was given and made it his own.

I predicted to friends that Kris would win based on overall marketability and “backlash” voting. It saddened me to think that would happen, especially to a kid that I’d take as a son AND be PROUD of.

LStaley56 | 5/24/2009, 2:32 am EST

Nobody who actually knows what real talent is would ever bother watching this stupid show.. its manufactured cardboard cut out pop trash, none of the people on this show have talent, or have real rockstar voices, the only way someone off this show could make any money is if their cd is sold at Walmart where one dimensional shoppers with no taste other than top ten FM radio would buy such crap… what a waste of the tax payers money, WHAT A JOKE.

ishrat | 5/24/2009, 4:39 am EST

adam, u r the best, the world is in love with u. pls make sure that, u deliver up to our expectation, means GREAT SONGS!!!

Wanda | 5/24/2009, 8:06 am EST

I enjoyed every week waiting to see what would come from Adam, what a performer!!I know he has a great future ahead.

Homeboy | 5/24/2009, 9:38 am EST

Adam sings okay for a wierd look’n dude, but I doubt my horse would like his record. If my horse bucks at a singer, it’s off the iPod. I don’t like the horse bucking me off ‘cuz of some guy singing. On the other hand, if my horse enjoys listening to Adam – then I might keep him in the collection. We’ll see what “Rokcy” thinks and I’ll let y’all know after Adam’s first album.

Teri | 5/24/2009, 1:24 pm EST

To Politic: As a “talent scout,” I would have thought you’d listened to some of Adam’s studio recordings that are for sale on I-Tunes, but, based on your comments about his “tiring” voice, I’m guessing that you haven’t. He sounds much more mellow in the studio recordings and has commented on this himself.

Anyway, it’s just your opinion that that type of voice gets tiresome. Even when he’s wailing his head off, I could listen for hours and hours, and I personally know many people who agree with me. It’s just awesome how he can control his voice while moving in and out of octaves. Of course there are many people out there who don’t like his sound. I think that speaks for how awesomely unique he is. There will be PLENTY of people like me who DO love the way he sings who will help make him greatly successful.

Milo | 5/24/2009, 1:44 pm EST

I love reading interviews w/ him, always knows what to say and always keeps things interesting. He is such a class act. I love Adam Lambert. Whatever he does with his music, I am sure I’m gonna like it, cause so far I’ve liked everything he’s done, both on Idol and before.

Really looking forward to this. It would be cool to see him w/ Queen too. No, on second thought, that would be f-ing AWESOME!! He can do both! :D

PhDude | 5/24/2009, 2:19 pm EST

Kris will be playing at 6 Six Flags side stage if he is lucky or my local coffee shop (more likely) in a few years. Adam will be filling up arenas and will, as Paula and the rest of the music industry like Fergie and the Black Eyed Peas say, be iconic. The winner of this contest is no longer an issue. The K K K Kristian “hater voters” had their say but luckily as they get older and die off their homophobia and bigotry dies with them and our country moves forward.

Alyonia | 5/24/2009, 2:38 pm EST

@Politic: He wrote Crawl Through Fire and Pop Goes the Camera… The original U2b post of CtF had almost a million hits, so I think it’s safe to say Adam has written a song that MORE THAN 100 people have heard of. C:

Leslie | 5/24/2009, 3:36 pm EST

I can hardly wait to see what Adam will do now with his upcoming CD. Adam has everything, EVERYTHING, to be a mega, worldwide star. He’s already been compared to all of the greatest in rock n roll royalty; Robert Plant, Freddie Mercury, Steven Tyler, even Elvis. And yeah, all of them did pretty good in their musical careers. I mean being considered as one of the greatest singers in music history, is not a bad thing. Adam will be right up there, just watch. That kid’s star is going to rise so high. And we’ll all reflect back to his beginning on AI, and say, I remember him back then, I knew his going to make it big. As far as all you naysayers who have to try and find something negatative about Adam, like his sexuality. Like who really gives a flying rip whether he likes men, women or monkeys, for that fact. All of us who are mega Adam fans, know that the guy can sing and entertain, and that’s all that matters. Clay Aikin can go suck eggs, cause he sucks anyway. Try and control your jealousy, Clay, it’s showing and making you look like an even bigger idiot. Well, as one mega Adam fan to another, we’ll just see how far Adam goes in his career, and then the non fans can go eat crow!!!!

ma berry | 5/24/2009, 4:22 pm EST

I was listening to all my Adam downloads today and all of them are fantastic. It then hit me that there are no more shows to anticipate, no more being blown away each week by an amazing talent…It’s going to be so hard! I am an Adam Addict! In listening to his songs each one has a great sound so I hope Adam picks up where he left off with great arrangements and that wonderful flair that he has. In the meantime I wait until Sept. to see the Idol show. The only one I will ever go to..to see Adam and yes, Allison belt out some great ones.

AudreyM | 5/24/2009, 5:16 pm EST

Adam is so fabulous. I play his “Ring of Fire” over and over. My kids and grandkids love him as much as I do. He’s a real hero in our family. Go Adam. Rule the World!!!

April | 5/24/2009, 6:55 pm EST

I absolutely love Adam. He is the best that has ever been on American Idol. I am waiting and looking forward to his first CD.I would be classified as a “right wing radical Christian”. I am insulted that some have blamed Christians for Adam’s loss to Kris. Baloney!! Talent is talent and I DO NOT HATE GAYS!! God bless you Adam, just because I do not condone homosexuality doesn’t mean I don’t love you and so does God. I hope and know you will be at the top of the music world.

julie | 5/24/2009, 7:21 pm EST

major adam lambert withdrawl. the best in a very long time! good luck with everything , you deserve all the best

Sabbie | 5/24/2009, 9:05 pm EST

Adam Lambert is simply the most important recording artist this planet has seen in a really long time. I grew up in the times when there weren’t any really serious individual artists, except for maybe Michael Jackson – although I’m not particularly a fan of his style, but respect his accomplishments and talent regardless. Yes, Adam has that Elvis (true – it’s been very much overstated) charisma and charm. And like Elvis, he has the ability to move his audience with his dynamic and sometimes dark vocals. I was amazed when I heard the song the did for Brigadoon, a stage play he did some time back. I’m surprised a recording outfit didn’t snatch him since those times. Well … again maybe because of the sexuality issue. Adam Lambert is an incredible artist, very gracefull and honest. I caught him late since I was never a fan of American Idol when I saw him perform ‘Black or White’. Then he blew me away with the ‘Tracks of my tears’. To me, his softer side is more powerful than the Glam – Rock stuff. I can’t wait to see what else he has to offer the world.

Lynn | 5/24/2009, 9:12 pm EST

Thank God American Idol found Adam!! Anyone who has ever criticized reality TV (I have in the past!!) should take a look. We got to know a bit about Adam as a person while discovering a mega talent. His beautiful personality makes me appreciate his talent even more!
I have always loved music, but he has actually made me more excited about it. I hope he can make the kind of album he wants to, i.e. different genres. It always bothered me when I heard Randy say “you are a rock star and that is the kind of music you should be making!” He is definitely a rock star, and I LOVE rock, but he is every other kind of star as well. No matter what he sings, I love it. I want to hear it all!

Anonymous | 5/24/2009, 9:28 pm EST

Adam is amazing. Whatavoice!!!

Susan | 5/24/2009, 9:33 pm EST

I LOVE Adam!!! Just love him! He’s the best performer to ever set foot on the Idol stage! I’m so excited to see him perform live during his tour this summer and can’t wait to buy the CD! He’s already got more than 10,000 people signed up on his official web site, adamofficial. He’s going to be huge

Lucy | 5/25/2009, 12:13 am EST

Adam is already a star. Now he’s going to become a generation-defining Megastar in the mold of Elvis and the Beatles. The hysteria begins July 5th when the AI Tour kicks off in Portland, Oregon. After Adam performs live at packed stadiums in 50+ cities across the country, he’s going to be so hot it’ll be ridiculous! I just hope the tour managers and his management team are prepared!!! This guy has “STAR POWER” written all over him!

LaTonya | 5/25/2009, 12:35 am EST

Adam is this generation’s Elvis. You are watching the birth of a Superstar. He’s physically gorgeous, an incredible singer with a charasmatic stage presence, he can dance, he can act and he’s the best interview I’ve ever heard. Adam is “The One” the entertainment industry has been seariching for since Elvis’ death. He’s it.

Jenny | 5/25/2009, 1:19 am EST

Adam is going to be massive, cant wait for fis album to hit the street. PUT HIM ON THE COVER ALREADY!

jc | 5/25/2009, 2:02 am EST

Rolling Stone, your cover is begging for a picture of the gorgeous Mr. Lambert. Please make this happen and I will buy several copies.

Ale | 5/25/2009, 2:40 am EST

My 70 years old grandma swears that Adam is the reincarnation of Elvis!

My 50 years old mom adores him and asks me to tell her every single piece of Adam news everyday.

And I couldn’t love him more, he is really a jewel for this family!

Jennifer | 5/25/2009, 2:51 am EST

Thanks for the great article on Adam! I can’t wait to read more about him in Rolling Stone in the future. Any magazine with Adam in it is one I’m buying! He’s definately one of the hottest things in music right now and probably will be for the foreseeable future! Can’t wait for the CD to drop…hoping for a November release!!!!

Anonymous | 5/25/2009, 3:03 am EST

The only Lambert song I liked was “Mad World.” It was perfection. Really didnt dig the props, costumes, or goth look, but he is strikingly handsome with his hair combed back like Elvis.

UcBaby | 5/25/2009, 5:55 am EST

I Absolutely Adore Adam! I Thought He Would Win. And Maybe He Should Have. Let’s Be Honest Kris’ Interviews Are Kinda Boring While I Can’t Get Enough Of Adam’s. But Kris Won And That’s That. We Can’ do Anything About Hiim. I Am Absolutely Insulted By The Fact That People Think Christians Are Homophobic. I Don’t Agree With homosexuality But I Don’t Have Anything Against Gay People. So Get Your Facts Ryt PhDude. But I Forgive You Because As Christians That’s What We Do. I Know Adam Will go On To Do Great Things. And i Wish Him All The Best In His Career.

Anne from Canada | 5/25/2009, 6:39 am EST

From the first show I felt that I was watching the next Elvis – the charisma, the humbleness, the voice, the “it” factor – it’s all there. I LOVE all that Adam does and have to say that I play Mad World over and over and NEVER get tired of feeling like I’ve been transported somewhere else for those few minutes – what an amazing voice. I was devastated that he didn’t actually win the title but without a doubt he will be 100% bigger than Kris and any other of the Idol winners. I only wish that Canada could vote with you guys – he would have won for sure!! I’m in my 50’s and am a huge fan of rock in all forms and Adam is top of the list – next to Elvis! I can hardly wait for his CD and I’ve gotta say, I’m having Adam withdrawals now! Keep being you Adam – you deserve the huge fan base and accolades.

I don't know | 5/25/2009, 6:49 am EST

Last year everyone was gushing over David Cook…I liked him too but I won’t buy his album…and to think that some people think (Sabbie’s comment) that he is the most important artist in music today..has had too much kool-aid. Adam is a good singer with a good voice who may go far….but then again we may never hear from him again. All of the Idol alums have gone on to some kind of a career in music or TV. They may be off our collective radar but they have a core of fans that stay with them all the way. I didn’t care for this years Idol…Lambert didn’t do much for me either tho I see the appeal…but please don’t say he is the most important artist or that he is Elvis reincarnated…neither of these suggestions are even remotely close to the truth. Adam sings well…and has some stage presence…that’s it.

Kelly123 | 5/25/2009, 7:40 am EST

I was sooooo disapointed when Adam lost. I have been watching AI since it started, and I could tell you Adam is the best I have ever seen. If Canada would have voted Adam would have won. If he is or isn’t gay, WHO CARES. He is an AMAZING singer, ICONIC in every way, and that is all that matters. GO ADAM GO. You are NUMBER 1 in CANADA and you are going to put all the other artists to shame when you start selling albums. WE LOVE YOU.

kiwibird | 5/25/2009, 8:12 am EST

excellent interview! Sounds like a decent bloke on a mission who nows exactly what he needs to do-best of luck to him, he is fab! Just hope he sings some of the AI songs on his CD -black and white, mad world etc. he will appeal to such a wide audience if he doesn’t block himself into any particular genre, he has no need to do that. He can do slower easy listening Cd’ s for the likes of me and heavy rock for the deaf!

AGERN OF SC | 5/25/2009, 10:09 am EST

Adam is a star and he is the real winner of american idol season 8. Kris is an underdog. Adam will be more successful than Kris and he will sell more records than Kris too!

geo | 5/25/2009, 11:47 am EST

anything with adam lambert is going to be a hit these days and draw a big audience…magazine, tv shows, music…

he was definitely above idol really…cook was really great too..but adam is has a wow factor unmatched….kris allen seems like a nice dude…but i didnt like the oragization that cut throat to secure his win… it was unfair to all the contestants…adam really was the winner..and if you do your homework , you’ll see the facts are there…white/black rock/pop
straight/gay christian/jewish…

it didnt matter…he was leading from day one!!!!

Laura | 5/25/2009, 12:39 pm EST

Well, what can I say? Adam is amazing…and we need people like him to remember us that the great singers are not dead. Here in Brazil Adam has lots of fans that trully love and suport him.
Go Adam,we love you!

Kt | 5/25/2009, 1:20 pm EST

Adam is addicting. I listen to his music and watch his videos everyday. I hate that we will not have our Adam Lambert/American Idol show each week. Adam was AI this year and he has proven he is larger than AI. His voice is awesome whatever he sings. The one thing that I resent is that my votes were not counted on AI. I frantically redialed for 4 hours and had busy signals the first 3 and connected 10 the last hour.

Canadian | 5/25/2009, 3:25 pm EST

Kt I couldn’t agree with you more!! I also think Adam is addictive, I can’t stop talking about him and watching his performances.. the guy has such star power!!!
An aside note… why don’t people mind their own business and leave Adam alone about his sexual orientation? what does that matter?? he is amazing as an artist.. kudos to him for staying grounded!!!

Gloria | 5/25/2009, 3:38 pm EST

Adam your starpower shines brighter and brighter everyday!
You are destined to become a Legend!! Your fate has been sealed. Remember how loved you are by your fans and I absolutely cannot wait for your first album or single. See you in Tulsa the 24th of July!!! As far as sexual orientation, who cares!!! We love you the way you are.
ADAM YOU ROCK MY WORLD(ROCK GOD)!!!
ADAM IS PURE PERFECTION!!!

DJ | 5/25/2009, 4:09 pm EST

OMG! I love this guy. I can’t stop listening to his music. His voice is addicting and I wish they would play some idol stuff on the radio. Mad World is hypnotic and I can’t wait to see what he comes out with on a cd. I also hope he stays grounded because he seems like such an awesome person and you just gotta love him. His composure and talent on idol, amazed me. Go Adam! You’ve made music exciting again.

Anya | 5/25/2009, 5:00 pm EST

I think its stupid that Adam didn’t win because of his sexual preferences. His voice is amazing that’s all that should matter!

Both Adam Lambert and Kris Allen’s versions of the coronation song, “No Boundaries” were made available to radio stations for air play. Kris’ has been getting alot more promotion because he’s the winner BUT our request line has been flooded with requests for Adam’s version and when we play it, we are flooded with “Thank you’s” and positive response. Many radio stations are opting/choosing not to play it out of respect for Kris as the winner but my Programming Directors attitude is “Give people what they want” and it’s our experience that they want Adam.

objective listener | 5/25/2009, 6:36 pm EST

Adam can sing in tune but those high notes he hits are too abrasive. That screaming tone is unnerving especially when he slaughtered the Sam Cooke song, Long Time Coming…yikes! He needs to learn how to sing the notes that move people’s emotions instead of their fingers to their ears for safety

Kareen | 5/25/2009, 6:52 pm EST

Until Adam came on the scene, I didn’t pay much attention to music out there. Anything he does, I like and it’s never boring.
He will go a long way and I wish him all the luck in the world.

giselle | 5/25/2009, 7:36 pm EST

to politic;your comment is interesting….if there is lot’s of talent like Adam out there and try to make it trough your talent finding agency….well, based upon your opinion they never gonna make it!I encourage anybody to give up the so called “higher level” and go to the “cheesy” AI industry!Where are you all beautiful talented people?I just watched some Zodiac it’s insane, insane!!!Why we can’t have more creativity in our lives?I love art,I love revolution, and I love the fact how many people talks about Adam, his personality, his talent.Me and my friends regularly have heated arguments about industry, society, values, nature ,connections between genetics and evolution…anything and everything..actually I got to know more about the people around me..incredible!!!I love Adam,We love Adam,BIG BIG love from Canada. We can’t wait to see what you do in the future, interesting, exiting, new …….Sparkly eyed Gothic prince ,the world talks about you, both gender is in love, you gave yourself to us and we are soooooooo HAPPY!!!!

Jermaine | 5/25/2009, 7:40 pm EST

GOOD LUCK DUDE. You made the Season for me this year, killed it every week and single handedly shook the show up. If you dare, you lose. Sucks but whatever.

PS. MY GF’S SAYING SHE’LL BUY YOUR ALBUM EVEN IF IT TURNS OUT SH*T. I think that’s a compliment.

Sacha | 5/25/2009, 7:43 pm EST

ADAM, COME TO LONDON SOON. MAN, YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW MANY PEOPLE LOVE YOU HERE. IDOL-MOCKERS LIKE ME INCLUDED.

realheart | 5/25/2009, 7:44 pm EST

Adam is Adam and no one else. He is without a doubt amazing and will make a huge impact in the music biz. He will do all of that because he is who he is and that’s why he is loved by so many already. Adam you are a winner but then again you already knew that. Stay true to yourself and everything else will fall into place.

sharon | 5/25/2009, 8:29 pm EST

Adam I think you are great, I am 60 years old its been a long time since i have seen or listen to any one that made me want to stop and just watch you sing over and over , your going to go far good luck

Tanya | 5/25/2009, 8:44 pm EST

Adam did not lose–Kris won BECAUSE of Adam. People who love Adam–LOVE HIM and they vote for him. The people who voted for Kris–were voting AGAINST Adam. They voted for hate and intolerance. It oculd have been anyone. Kris knows this and now AI can be the laughing stock for allowing a person like Adam to be beaten by a medicore nice guy like Christian Kris! What a sad state of affairs. One vote per person would have cured this and Adam would have been the rightful winner since he has MANY MORE FANS THAN KRIS!!!!!!!!

Tanya | 5/25/2009, 8:45 pm EST

Chris | 5/25/2009, 9:33 pm EST

Tanya,

If voting for Kris was a vote against Adam, then a vote for Danny or Allison or Scott or Anoop or anyone else must have been a vote against Adam, right?

And if we follow that logic further, a vote for Adam was a vote against Kris. So then a vote for Adam is a vote for hate and intolerance, right.

Another thing, if a vote for Kris is a vote for hate, intolerance and a vote against Adam, then that must mean that Kris has no fans at all. Nobody likes Kris, they just hate Adam.

It looks like Adam is very happy with his experience and he and Kris genuinely like each other and are happy for one another. What’s your problem?

You sound like someone who is filled with hate and intolerance. It seems that you hate and are intolerant of people who did not vote for Adam.

So Adam has more fans than Kris, huh? (of course he does, because Kris has zero) Have you actually polled the entire nation to find out how many people are fans of Adam and how many are fans of Kris?

I could go on and on and find a few more ways to show how idiotic your comments are, but I think I’ve done my job.

WorldIdol | 5/25/2009, 10:21 pm EST

Adam is a World Idol now. The people in the music industry must be taken by surprise. They didn’t think Adam could be successful and kept putting people in the box. How out of touch those people are! If they had known that Adam will revive people’s love for music by creating such a wave, they’d have jumped on Adam a long time ago. They think they know what they are doing. They can never predict that so many people will see Freddie, Elvis, Axl, Bowie, etc in Adam. This Adam phenomenon was created because fans saw talent in Adam and were drawn to Adam’s voice. Adam’s voice is addictive. His range is incredible. Fans are what matters in this business, right? Adam undeniably has a huge fanbase. Adam won the Idol because so many of us voted for Adam but the votes didn’t get through. Adam is so classy and is ready to move forward and look at tomorrow. I feel sorry for Adam but am happy to see him ready for the future.

Camille | 5/25/2009, 10:36 pm EST

Well, politic, I can tell you that I book musical talent for events and I’ve listened to as many demo reels as the next person in the business and I am about as jaded as they come. BUT, the minute Adam Lambert walked into the audition room, something about him made me sit up and focus. I normally don’t pay much attention to AI, but right from the auditions I have been glued to the tv when Adam is on. His voice is a gift from the muses; he has worked hard to make the most of that gift; he’s articulate, kind, and funny; he’s gorgeous, and sexy. Combine that with a hot sexuality that manages not to offend people (most people anyway), but rather to excite so many different kinds of people… IOW — he has that elusive IT factor for which the industry is dying.

So, if your record label is turning down people like Adam every day, they shouldn’t be in business too much longer. Although there is always a market for bland pablum.

Laura | 5/25/2009, 10:47 pm EST

Adam = World Wide Star
Kris = teeny boppers just gave him his 15 minutes of fame.

Sharyn | 5/26/2009, 12:29 am EST

Adam is the most awesome talent to ever step out on the Idol stage. I considered it a priviledge to have listened to him perform and share his experiences on Idol.

He doesn’t just sing a song, he embraces it, magically carresses and transforms it, and then gives it the freedom to touch and move the hearts of all who listen.

I am a 65 year-old and I have never, and really believe never will, hear another voice that touches or moves me the way his does.

I wish for Adam all happiness that life can offer anyone, and that he will be graced by the love of those who will enjoy and cherish his talent.

MW | 5/26/2009, 12:44 am EST

Adam I miss seeing you in my home on Tuesday and Wednesday nights! Your performances and your smile and your style– all gave me something to look forward to every week. I’m having Adam withdrawals, please hurry with your album!!!!!!!!!!

Chris | 5/26/2009, 12:53 am EST

Some of you people need to get a life.

Why would you feel sorry for Adam. He had a great opportunity and made the most of it. Right now, he is a star. In interviews, he appears to be very happy with how things went for him. Feel sorry for him? Are you joking?

People, these contestants on this show are singers, musicians, artists, entertainers. Be entertained. Enjoy. But don’t get emotionally involved. These entertainers don’t even know who you are and will never be emotionally involved with you.

Watch and listen, vote, cheer, even pay to be entertained by them, but don’t worship them.

Don’t you guys realize that 2nd place is as good as 1st place on American Idol?

If you think that some people hate Adam because he might be gay, then you must also expect that some people will hate Kris because he might be a Christian. But, who cares? I don’t think Kris or Adam do.

I commented on the following issue in an earlier post, but I’ve had another thought. Regarding “a vote for Kris is a vote against Adam”, millions of people really like what Kris did on that stage and did not care for Adam’s tongue out of mouth screaming.

If some of those people voted for Kris as a vote against anything, it is more likely a vote against the blatant favoritism that the producers of the show and at times even the judges showed toward Adam. He was one of the few who were being pushed from the start and given much more airtime than other contestants. Kris had almost no airtime until he reached the top 36, and even then was kept somewhat under the radar. American Idol pushes it’s own agenda. It’s all about the money.

valleygirl from canada | 5/26/2009, 12:58 am EST

Adam is already a star. He has a brilliant future ahead of him. I can’t wait to see what he’s going to do next. Always be true to yourself Adam. Your fans wouldn’t want it any other way.

Jean | 5/26/2009, 9:55 am EST

Was Adam on Early Show? I dvr’d it from 7:15 am to 9:00 am and he was not on. Was he on the first 10 min of the show?? Isn’t that saved for news items??? He will be on Today Show WITH Kris on Thursday. Adam IS incredible and no matter how good Kris is-Adam will do better in the long-run.

japanka | 5/26/2009, 10:14 am EST

I am from the Philippines and also a great fan of Adam Lambert. I been watching american idol every week thru our cable TV and i was really memsmerized and awed by the vocal talent shown by adam lambert. It’s been a long time now that i havent heard someone as great as adam lambert. he reminded me of freddie mercuy, axl rose and also steven tyler.

he is very different from the stereo typed competitors, they sounded so boring and run of the mill type. but when adam lambert performed, i couldnt help watch him in awe. my, his voals are so fantastic. since then, i keep track of adam’s and visited sites that feature him. i collected his you tube videos and also his pictures, i copied them and i have an album of him at my photobucket acount.

adam lambert is surely a world idol now. i am just dis appointed america didnt voted for him but that pass’ now.

adam lambert, you are so great. i will love you and keep you here in my heart. you are my IDOL!!!

Mary | 5/26/2009, 10:57 am EST

Adam was on CBS today live recording, around 9:40, and then around 10:15….I was there, they were recording him singing and taking his interview…. However, I think the show wasn’t aired yet, maybe on Thursday…It was so cool, he is adorable, LOVE YOU ADAM!!!!

responding to Chris's comment | 5/26/2009, 12:58 pm EST

To Chris who posted, “People, these contestants on this show are singers, musicians, artists, entertainers. Be entertained. Enjoy. But don’t get emotionally involved. These entertainers don’t even know who you are and will never be emotionally involved with you.”

Some of us are responding to a depth of feeling that Adam ignites in us, and we are responding with the budding of our own “ignored seeds”. It doesnt matter that we will never meet him, or that he doesnt know how deeply he has touched each of us personally. We will follow this new feeling whereever it leads us and let him inspire us, because that is EXACTLY what he is here to do!!!!!!

From a Christian | 5/26/2009, 1:01 pm EST

I know God wants us to be happy, he sent us Adam Lambert!!!

people Adam lost because some people can’t come to the reailty that gay lesbian and bi people are on top. Look at Ellen. Adam is not gay he’s bi and should have won. Adam if you read this will u marry me.

sue | 5/26/2009, 4:45 pm EST

adam is going to be madly popular-this is just the ground floor, it’s going to quickly escalate……he’s just the most unique, amazingly talented, genuine, thoughtful, kind, and handsome rock star to emerge in decades……adam- i love you!!!

concerned mom | 5/26/2009, 5:49 pm EST

Adam and Kris are both great singers in their own styles but who’s the better role model for our kids?

mary | 5/26/2009, 6:25 pm EST

concerned mom, if by that you were insinuating adams a bad role model, then… you have issues.

Suse1701 | 5/26/2009, 8:26 pm EST

Politic, first of all, I’m not surprised you consider yourself a “talent scout.”

Your comment is absolutely indicative of the banal, one-dimensional, cowardly thinking of the music industry today. And thank you for dictating to us, your target audience (read: we pay your check) what we want or don’t want.

Um, EPIC FAIL. You are resonant of the publishers who turned down Harry Potter – play it safe, follow your lame formula and then you miss out on a freakin’ platinum mine, you say, “Oops!”

Additionally, we all have ears. We’ve all been listening to the tripe you’ve been turning out and telling us we are supposed to love. Why on Earth do you think Adam’s getting this response?

If we were even remotely satisfied with the artists out there, how come the world is BLOWN AWAY? And not just the U.S. market, the International markets who hear EVERYONE. We insular Americans only hear our Americans, so that right there will tell you how exceptional he is. Why in God’s name to you have to be told that? It’s ludicrous.

I love Five for Fighting and think John Ondrasik is an amazing vocalist but since I’ve heard Adam cover “I Just Love You,” the FFF version sounds like a demo by comparison (sorry John, you are still awesome and a GREAT songwriter). The same is true with One Republic and “Come Home.”

So please, instead of telling the MILLIONS of people DYING to buy anything of Adam’s that we don’t know what we want, go explain to the CEO how you could have possibly missed this astronomical talent right under your nose.

P.S. It’s a tough time to be unemployed; start groveling.

taking up ur time | 5/26/2009, 10:09 pm EST

concerned mom,
not any disrespect, but did u not hear people who have met him say how nice and sincear he is??? and how he is always true to himself??? in my opion thats what i want my child to grow up and be like… to not be swayed into peer pressure and go with your heart.

Oliver | 5/27/2009, 7:19 am EST

To answer to the “Role Model” thing, I say, “Adam” all the way! He is sincere, nice, gracious, and holds to his beliefs. He, to me, is more talented than Kris also. I think Adam is the better role model, “America, be who you are, not what someone wants you to be!”

The Jean Genie | 5/27/2009, 9:59 pm EST

Lambert is AMAZING. Anyone who disagrees can go suck a dick.

Carl | 5/28/2009, 12:36 am EST

Don’t you mean anyone who agrees?

J9er | 5/28/2009, 2:19 pm EST

I’ll never get over his loss. He is stellar…the best I’ve ever seen…anywhere. AI should just shut their doors because no one like him will ever grace that pathetic stage again. Kris was OK…and that’s about it. SORRY!

Need more Adam | 5/28/2009, 4:27 pm EST

I’m having Adam withdrawal at this very moment. :)

I admit it’s a little overpowering reading all the posts about him all over the internet. I can’t imagine how he must be feeling!!

lindajean139 | 5/28/2009, 5:32 pm EST

You just can’t help but love Adam Lambert!! I can’t wait to see what he does next. I so miss watching the Adam Lambert show every Tuesday night. But I am looking to hearing more from him!!

Violet | 5/28/2009, 5:50 pm EST

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE ADAM LAMBERT!

Jess | 5/28/2009, 5:50 pm EST

Adam is amazing. Why he didn’t win is a mystery, but he can do so much better without the title of “2009’s American Idol”. That boy is gonna go places.

Anonymous | 5/28/2009, 5:58 pm EST

As to whether the speculation surrounding his sexual orientation impacted the final vote, Lambert simply laughed, and answered, “Probably.”

We all know it did. It ticks me off that some people are in denial.

Lizzy | 5/28/2009, 6:00 pm EST

The most memorable, exciting, original and talented contestant on Idol. EVER.

mj | 5/28/2009, 6:08 pm EST

Adam is a breath of fresh air in a decade of disappointing singers who have zero stage presence and cannot perform live. We say plenty of that mediocrity by the guest ’stars’ on Idol all season. Adam on the other hand delivered mesmerizing performances every week with only a few days to prepare for each. Yes America, you got it wrong.

tij | 5/28/2009, 7:52 pm EST

Adam Lambert. The. Best. Idol. Ever.

David Niel | 5/28/2009, 8:03 pm EST

Thank GOD we have some alternative “role models” for OUR KIDS!!!! Some of us have kids that don’t relate to all the sugary ridiculousness of Miley Cyrus, the Jonas Brothers, etc… I am THRILLED that my family is into Adam, and why wouldn’t I be? He’s articulate, interesting, clearly strong enough to be himself when young and now… and forthright in the presentation of who and what he is. Oh yeah, if he indeed is gay — and I presume he is — ALL THE BETTER!!! Our gay kids desperately need cool, smart, together role models — both gay and straight, because folks, we all have gay or alternative kids. So, shame on ANY of you parents who think that only a slice of Christian apple pie is fit to be a model for my family! In this house, we love Adam for his uniqueness and because we think he’s been honest about who and what he is — both musically and otherwise, and in the Niel home, HONESTY is OUR family value, above and beyond anything else!

David Niel | 5/28/2009, 8:05 pm EST

PS LEAVE HIM ALONE MEDIA REGARDING HIS SEXUAL ORIENTATION!!! WE DON’T CARE!!! And, those that do, I am almost sure, do so out of a prurient curiosity at best, and at worst with a judgmental soul. Report on what we really want to know re: Adam: MUSIC, STYLE, INFLUENCES, HOPES, HIS OPINION OF THE CURRENT STATE OF THE MUSIC INDUSTRY, ETC., ETC., ETC., ETC….

Kareen | 5/28/2009, 8:17 pm EST

I wish people stop talking about Adams sex life.
He is such a great talent, a nice person, polite and so very generous to others.
It’s no ones business who he sleeps with.
I found in my long life, people who protest too much, maybe should look at themselves.

Stahrdancer | 5/28/2009, 8:21 pm EST

Adam… I hope you are reading everthing out here on the big I about what a hit you are. You’ve earned it!!!! (Well.. almost everthing.. skip the few icky ones)

Listen to Katy Perry and stay grounded and you will have success beyond your wildest dreams. We’re anxiously awaiting your first disc and watching your star grow. You are INTERSTELLAR HOT beyond description.

Stay sweet. Love you… just the way you are!

Amy | 5/28/2009, 8:35 pm EST

Rolling Sone: WHEN are you going to put Adam on the cover??? It needs to happen NOW. You simply must put him on the cover PRONTO and also include a big, sexy poster! The return of the iconic, hot, sexy as hell, teenage-young age-middle-age-granny-age DREAM-YES!

Karina | 5/28/2009, 9:55 pm EST

ADAM is incredible, he’s the greatest thing to hit the music industry since Elvis.

Everyone I know adores ADAM. He is brilliant, and so personable.

We can’t wait for his album to come out. I know it will be original and sound awesome.

ADAM is in a class of his own. No one even comes close.

tij | 5/29/2009, 12:37 pm EST

The media should stop bullying Adam into revealing his orientation. Majority of the people do not care. I don’t. I still can’t believe that America thinks that Adam does not have the best singing talent in AI. That’s crazy judging by Americans. Now the whole world will know that Americans have a severe LACK of judgment in determining the person with the best (and even rare) singing talent. Will the world ever believe America’s judgment? Adam was the best singer in Season 8. Not sure why American did not see the obvious.

Katherine in DC | 5/29/2009, 1:16 pm EST

To the poster David Niel, ditto. I am a mother of two teenagers who look up to Adam for his talent, honesty, intelligence, kindness, and courage. Thank you Adam Lambert, you are an inspiration.
C’mon Rolling Stone, please put this exciting young man on your cover!

Kareen | 5/29/2009, 3:00 pm EST

People who are so concerned about Adams sex life should pick up a few books and read about some of the greats in this world and who were gay. They always existed folks, only no one talked about it.
The US is not much better when it comes to that topic than the Talibans for heavens sake.
Leave that young man alone and let him get on with his life and his talent.

Patti | 5/29/2009, 3:17 pm EST

Who care about Adam’s sexuality. Leave it alone!! He is an incredible talent and a great person, that’s all that matters. I totally agree with what whatsup wrote! Adam is a Star!!

Kareen | 5/31/2009, 1:20 pm EST

I agree Lizzy!

thisgrannylovesadam | 5/31/2009, 3:06 pm EST

In my opinion he won the competition, hands down – I’m 63 and haven’t been this excited since the Beatles of my youth. Go Adam – can’t wait to see you this summer and see what your future holds. Someone like you comes along only ever few years – I was lucky to have lived thru the Beatles and now Adam Lambert.

Anonymous | 6/1/2009, 1:21 am EST

he didnt lose because of his sexual orientation.. could you honestly not tell he was gay from the very start of the show

Shelby | 6/1/2009, 2:09 am EST

Adam is just what the music world has been needing. Get him on the cover RS. He’s the real thing, a star in the making, I see great potential for legendary status here.

Janet Flynn | 6/1/2009, 10:28 am EST

I’m pushing 60 and I’ve never been so excited about a peformer in my whole as I have with Adam Lambert. He’s iconic, super star, a king is born. Apart from being gifted and talented, he’s gracious, intelligent classy and charismatic. Who cares about his sexual orientation it should never ever be questioned, people are who they are. Every week he had me spell bound, can’t wait for his C.D. to be released.

ADAMLAMBERTFAN#1 | 6/1/2009, 1:46 pm EST

A Star Indeed! | 6/1/2009, 10:30 pm EST

Adam Lambert is going to be a huge star. I don’t care if he’s gay or not – but for our sakes, PLEASE be straight or bi at least! Give us women a freaking chance at all that…yummy.

Cindy Mardis | 6/2/2009, 12:30 pm EST

PLEASE put Adam on your cover!!!

Wondering | 6/2/2009, 3:07 pm EST

I guess the great American media machine is stil alive and well.

He is just incredible! I love the friendship he and Kris have.

AdamFan | 6/2/2009, 10:31 pm EST

I don’t care if he’s gay. ADAM LAMBER TOTALLY ROCKS

loveskris | 6/3/2009, 2:19 am EST

ok, first of all let me just say that I am a kris fan 100%. its not that i think that adam is a bad singer, its just that the type of voice that kris has appeals to me more.

about the whole sexual orientation thing, i think that it just got blown way out of proportion. in the first place, we shouldn’t even debate something like that. a person is a person. that being said, no matter what anyone does, there is still going to be a controversy. its just a fact. but people, please, just let it go.
adam is going to have an amazing career.

however i don’t think that this season was an upset whatsoever. yes, kris said that it was, but he is just modest. that is just the kind of guy he is. i mean just watch his audition tape and u will realize how modest he really is. now i don’t know how much he won by, but i am assuming that it is a good amount because the show failed to tell us, unlike every other season. also, if you look at sales, kris has sold more songs than adam, but adam has sold more albums. i think that this is because adam is able to change his voice depending on the genre of music very well, but when they are both in their comfort zone, kris’ voice is so pure and soothing.
but who knows really. i mean, if kris hadn’t sang heartless, adam might have won the competition. although i still feel like kris was better overall, i know that it was heartless that pulled him through.

i think that adam was the wake-up-call that america needed. and i applaud him for that.
and about the whole kris getting the christian vote. people are just making up excuses because they are mad that adam lost. but really, if u guys r so upset, maybe u should realize that adam fans just didn’t vote enough. i go to a christian school, and the majority of them are adam fans.

if you guys really want to c who the better singer was, go to whatnottosing. its this amazing cite that calculates the best performer by looking at every online review of each performance, and rating them. its basically one, big database. it clearly says and shows that kris was the better singer.

also, to everyone who is saying that it is rediculous that people watch this show: dude, if u don’t like it, then u don’t watch it. seriously…

Last Sunday in a local variety show here in our country, a famous local talent Jed Madela sang ” If I cant Have You” by Adam Lambert….. wow, i was awe- struck, hearing someone sing adam’s song. it was a great feeling.

Then a duet made by local pop star Piolo Pascual and Martin Nievera, they sang ” No Boundaries” duet of Adam and Kris…..hehe, i was swooning at Piolo Pascual, singing ala Kris…. he seem to have a better rendition than Kris, no offense meant to Kris Allen.

The singers were well applauded as they are popular singers in our country and many people here are fans of adam lambert now.

I like that Adam wants to do something different in the music industry and do his own thing. I think that’s what he does best…. being what and who he is. Let me just say this. I’ve tried to make since of what is so special about Adam’s voice. I can’t pin point it but the best way I can say it is… when he performs, his voice enters at ‘ear level’. Then he hits those notes that enter not through ones ears, but above that, through ones temples, if that is possible. He casts you into this euphoria. And it is such a ‘high’. It’s amazing! Then there’s that wonderful character he displays, his warm beautiful smile and his gorgeous eyes (made up with eyeliner or not. I like him both ways). He’s definitely a stand out artist that needs to be out there on his own front and center and not with another band. Can’t wait to go and see him at an Adam Lambert concert.

iilOVE music! | 6/4/2009, 5:36 am EST

Adam was the best on idol for sure! plus, people have said this, but, who cares if he’s gay? personally, its kinda a turn on! it’s because he’s so undeniably sexy! people, stop being homophobes!!! (thats if you are…)

#1 fan | 6/4/2009, 2:04 pm EST

adam lambert is my favorite singer on american idol he did really good on the show, he is so good looking and that he deserves all the best in his life and I wish him all the luck , so adam do what your heart tells you to do.

Tumi | 6/4/2009, 2:45 pm EST

The ultimate decision for who’ll get the AI crown belongs to the bosses, not the public. The bosses are mainly a conservative bunch who want to maintain their ideal idol image. After all this is a reality show, folks. In retrospect, Adam could only get this far because of his extraordinary talent and charisma. Now, it’s time for Adam to go and conquer the world.

Kosha | 6/5/2009, 3:30 pm EST

Alright, Where to start? First, Adam Lambert is the BEST singer in Idol history. &Yes, I think he should’ve won. But, it is better that he didn’t. &just like any other die hard fan, I cried&threw my phone at the tv for about two hours the night the winner was reviled. Yeah, I’m happy for Kris, I just wanted Adam to realize that he really did deserve the title. Adam, you’re outstanding, unbelievable, breath taking, mouth dropping, eye popping, and ILOVEYOUTODEATH. Keep up the brilliant work, and I’ll be seeing you on the Idol tour.
I cant wait for your Album!

your biggest fan,
Kosha Wetzel.

Korie Beth | 6/5/2009, 11:50 pm EST

Ok for one thing american idol is a talent contest and no one should judge adam on if he’s gay or not!* usually i don’t watch american idol but after i saw him and heard him sing i had to see him every week b/c he is so fine and like when me and my friends talk about who won there like he didnt win b/c no one wants a gay american idol DANG i mean evryone should just shut up b/c i think most every one here can see he the HOTTEST thing ever!! I LOVE YOU ADAM and dont let none of that stuff get to you keep on singing and looking however you want!! LOVE YOU SO MUCH!!*

Adam | 6/6/2009, 11:35 am EST

i think adam is soo hot and i love him. i love kris 2 but adam just has a stronger voice than kris. sorry. adam is soo much more talented than kris. i’ve bought just about every american idol performance by adam lambert and my favorite is…..i can’t choose bc they’re all so good!! w2g adam and keep singing babe. I LOVE YOU!!

P.S. i support you all the way on your sexual orientation. i’d rather you be gay so no girl can have you! just saying

Adamlover | 6/6/2009, 11:40 am EST

I freaking love adam lambert. he has such a talented and strong voice. i love the way he can change up songs and make them his own. it shows how creative he is and that he is a true artist. he will be iconic!!!!!! I LOVE YOU

P.S. I support you all the way with whatever your sexual orientation is. like i just said on my other comment(Adam) i’d rather see you gay so no woman can have you. people just need 2 stop being homophobes. seriously!

confused fan | 6/6/2009, 2:15 pm EST

ok so where does it state that Adam openly admits hes gay or was that just a line thrown out there to boost sales. nowhere in this article does he flat out say that he is gay?

ADAM IS A ROCK GOD | 6/6/2009, 5:57 pm EST

adam lambert is an awesome guy, and i dont care if he’s gay or not because what does that have to do with what type of person he is?? he’s an awesome person and is an amazing singer and thats all i care about. i was literally hysterically crying when he lost. kris is nice and all but adam is fantastic! and adam if you ever read this, please stay true to yourself and dont let fame change you, because you are perfect just the way you are

kaylee | 6/7/2009, 3:56 pm EST

i’m sick of hearing about adam’s sexualtiy. it doesn’t matter if he’s gay or straight, he will be a legend. nothing bothers me about adam, he’s just a cool guy and nobody can bring him down.

Shiny Pants | 6/7/2009, 5:11 pm EST

Personally, I don’t think it matters what his orientation is. The public wants to know, and they probably will soon. Everyone is curious about it, even I am. I think he’s very adorable, and I’m sure others agree. He’s just one of those guys you don’t want to be gay , even though he might (possibly) be. If his orientation caused him to not win AI, so be it. Honestly, he doesn’t need AI to create a music career. If he won AI, he would have had to use that lame ‘No Boundaries’ song on his album. So no this style. I really like his old stuff from before AI. He’s got some great electronic music. Go check that out.

In short, I don’t think he should have won American Idol because the people who don’t win have more successful careers, except for Kelly Clarkson, the only exception.

Suzz | 6/7/2009, 7:52 pm EST

Adam is smart! =)
“Probably” hehe

Love him!

idolornot | 6/8/2009, 11:27 am EST

my two fave singers made it to the end, thats all i cared about. but to make exuses for why adam lost? like his sexual orientation? c’mon, that’s gettin old already. always lookin for a crutch. who cares if he’s gay? he can sing. they both can. but kris is more easy listening, more soulful. adam almost screeches in every song he sings. ya, he made it his own, by screaming it in that voice that goes right through you. i voted for both of them because i like them both, and figued adam would realize to tone down the screaming a little and let his beatiful, yet still rocker voice come through. good luck to both of you, adam and kris.

Dalia Jojo | 6/9/2009, 9:53 am EST

Well I was watching the Inside Edition or whatever it’s called and they said there’s a company that was giving out free text messaging to people where Chris lives (his Hometown) and they could even send 10 votes through 1 msg. I’m not making this up i’m saying what they said. They said they didn’t know if this was the case where Adam lives, but considering the fact that he didn’t win it’s obvious there was no such thing there or else he would’ve won by milesssssssss! TRUST ME! Anyways…Adam is a great singer, whether he won or not, or gay or not (which isn’t clear at all in the article btw…so Rolling Stones, you need to change that title coz it’s irrelevant). He will always be my fav. americon idol…I never watched the show with such excitement before Adam came along!! Good luck Adam, can’t wait for your new album.

marika | 6/9/2009, 8:31 pm EST

i dont care if adam is gay or not but hes a really great singer and he shuld follow his dreams. Kris allen was great but a lot of people had chances or doubts that allen would ;ose or come in second. Adams album im sure will have so many different amazing songs and i love his voice!!!!!!!!!!!

Adamfan202 | 6/9/2009, 8:35 pm EST

Adam is a great singer and soon to be song writer. the finale shocked teh living bajeebies out of me because i had doubts on kris but he pulled it together and did amazingly on his heartless song. LAmbert the mega dream pop sensation is going to be know just as much as the beatles, elvis presley, jonny cash, etc. etc. etc. but i think he has a great love in what he does.

NoName | 6/10/2009, 11:35 am EST

Whether he’s straight, BI, gay, whatever-IT DOESN’T MATTER. He is a very talented individual and no one can come close to his talent. So what if he’s gay. He is a huge inspiration to me and I admire him for all of his hard work. For those that don’t like him they are just jealous because they wish they were him! Define a role model, does it state in the dictionary that they can only be straight!?? I DON’T THINK SO. Just because someone is different it doesn’t mean that their a totally different species. I will always love Adam Lambert for his music and always staying true to himself and his individuality. Rock On Lambert!!! xoxox

Lisa | 6/11/2009, 4:54 pm EST

Adam Lambert is going to be a superstar!! He is already well on his way! He has so much talent, and sex appeal. He’s got it all! I LOVE the cover!! Thanks for putting Adam in your magazine!!

Ruan | 6/12/2009, 2:19 am EST

Who cares about whether Adam is gay or not. He is the best singer that idols ever had. Best performer of them all. GO ADAM.
Can’t wait for your cd.

SeAN | 6/12/2009, 4:42 am EST

wow really thought adam would win
but still 1 of my favourite singers
and really 1 of my rock gods

Jay Lim | 6/13/2009, 11:01 am EST

Adam is just PHENOMENAL globally. Not just in America, but in Asia, people are all talking about how crazeeeee America is, in voting for Kris Allen when Adam is the WINNER! Just listen to the two versions of No Boundaries sang by the two finalists. Adam’s version was so emotional and connecting; i can almost feel my own life going thru the No Boundaries route!

Adam Revolution | 6/14/2009, 6:54 am EST

Ok i have to say this but I cannot beleive the idiots that PUT KRIS through to win the title. The dude may be nice an humble but he is a s plain as any street side basker. ADAM MY MAN is uniques glamourous talented and intelligent. Should’n a person with such STAR qualities be deserving the crown?? why KRIS of all people??

Fran :) | 6/17/2009, 4:24 am EST

Adam is so incredibley sexy! Love him~

Adam, kris, scott,danny | 6/19/2009, 5:58 pm EST
