News Ticker: Blur, Deftones, Miley Cyrus, Echo and the Bunnymen

  • The reunited Blur have no concrete plans after three major European festival dates and a handful of U.K. gigs, but Damon Albarn and Co. are considering adding U.S. shows, Billboard reports.

  • Korn’s Fieldy, Ray Luzier and Slipknot’s Jim Root have teamed with Brian “Head” Welch and Sevendust’s Clint Lowery to record a song benefiting Deftones bassist Chi Cheng, who remains in a semiconscious state after a November car accident, Blabbermouth reports.
  • Now that Chace Crawford is confirmed to star in the remake of Footloose (a role once desired by Zac Efron), sources close to Miley Cyrus tell E! that the teen pop star is competing for the role once played by Lori Singer.
  • NASA astronaut Timothy Korpa is bringing Echo and the Bunnymen’s Ocean Rain into space on his next mission. “Now it’s official. We are the coolest band in the universe,” frontman Ian McCulloch said in a statement.

Why are they gonna remake and butcher Footloose? This is the worst idea ever – especially if they put a buch of Disney actors in them. Count on that movie to BOMB!

Dude, Miley Cyrus is not attractive. At all. Yeah, that movie’s gonna suck. IDK why Hollywood wants to take classic movies and butcher them with awful scripts and even more awful actors.

Miley is the perfect choice for the role in Footloose…the original was far from a classic, but with Miley in it the new version will be a monster hit!! Miley rules!
