Excellent decision. I was a bit disappointed in the White Stripes farewell performance, particularly since they played my least favorite of their songs “We are going to be friends”. For all the PJ fans hoping for tried and true, however, keep fishing; they will be playing songs “from their upcoming studio album”.

Conan is more of a rocking White Stripes music then the depresive Pearl Jam outdated grunge, this doesn’t make any sense.

OK, that’s a weird choice of a musical guest for such an upbeat show… But Conan’s biggest demographic is 18-35(?), so I guess it makes sense in that respect to have a band that appeals to that age group.

Pearl Jam rocks! say one band more than 20 years old that still rocks and have a history and songs like pearl jam! If you said great bands like rolling stones, oasis or u2, well pearl jam is also there. PJ is legend. You may like it or not, but you cant denied the facts. Their music? It’s regressive yahoo butt-rock frat boy music with vocals that might just as well be Michael Bolton as far as I’m concerned. I’ve loathed it viscerally since the first song of theirs I ever heard. The shitty influenced-by-PJ bands are really just icing on the cake. The PJ followers are orders of magnitude shittier, which must reflect on the source in some way.

Instead of focusing on maximizing revenue, if only the band could focus on SONGS! Despite the carpet-bombing hype, the album still won’t sell much. More than the band’s recent opuses, but not much more. Because their music is WAY past its peak.

As for buying music at Target… Isn’t that like buying weed at Bed, Bath & Beyond? Or whips and chains at Toys R Us? All those indie stores stocked every iteration of the live show, and as payback…THEY GET FUCKED!

The problem isn’t the deal; the problem is the obfuscation. The problem is that this band claims to be straight with you, but they have never been.

The only reason PJ probably hired extras was because they didn’t want to deal with fan reaction once they realized they were filming a commercial for Target. But you are all so brainwashed and have the band so desperately tied into your identities you can’t see straight so you probably would have spun it until it was gold coming straight from Eddie’s ass.

Look, PJ never jammed econo. they didn’t eat PB&J for years, sleeping in dirty vans zigzagging across the country. they were signed immediately to Epic which was pretty much the major-est of all major labels. PJ has never been an indie band. did we all forget that the 2008 tour was sponsored in part by verizon? it was!

As for Cameron Crowe shooting the commercials…Sure, Cameron featured band members in his movie “Singles”, but when was the last time Cameron Crowe made a good flick? He’s sailing on fumes too. They deserve each other.
