- Cassie has become the latest victim of Internet hackers, but the 22-year-old R&B star is taking it in stride. She Twittered last night, confirming that topless pics that surfaced on Egotistic yesterday were genuine. “It seems that someone has hacked into my computer… that’s real foul and evil,” she wrote. “Now, stop acting like you haven’t seen a titty before.”
- It’s been nearly 16 years since we’ve heard a new note of music from American punk legends X, but that could change. Bassist John Doe told Billboard that he’s written “a couple songs” with singer Exene Cervenka: “We might get another X record at some point.” Doe didn’t offer up a potential timetable for the release, but did say Cervenka has a solo LP on the way. Their TRL Tour continues through June.
- ABC has launched an online “music lounge,” according to the Associated Press, for those of you who love songs featured on shows like Grey’s Anatomy and Desperate Housewives. The ABC Music Lounge will stream music from more than 200 artists heard throughout its roster of programming and feature videos and artists interviews, from the likes of Adele, the Fray, Lenka, Anya Marina, Joshua Radin and Rilo Kiley.
- Pete Doherty has joined Brandon Flowers as frontmen who have told the NME their bands are better than those who came before them. “The quality is good [in Oasis], but there really is no competition because my band is the greatest in the world and we’re going to prove it,” Doherty said of Babyshambles. Last week Flowers told the mag he wants to knock Led Zeppelin and Nirvana off their “pedestals.”
