Will Adam Lambert Win “American Idol”? Giraud, Anoop, Lil Weigh In

5/6/09, 9:47 am EST

Photo: Becker/Fox

“The last few weeks, I always thought I was going to be the one going home,” Matt Giraud told Rolling Stone when he stopped by the office yesterday (read the rest of his interview here!). It’s definitely been tough to read who was going to get the boot each week this season, but based on reader comments on our American Idol stories — like last night’s Rock Week report — Adam Lambert has emerged as the clear favorite. With a strong final four — perhaps the strongest in the show’s eight-season history — we asked finalists Giraud, Anoop Desai and Lil Rounds to break down the competition. Nobody wanted to name a clear winner (they do have to bunk on the same tour bus this summer, after all), but they did have some insight into Kris Allen, Danny Gokey, Adam Lambert and Allison Iraheta:

(Follow all the Idol action in photos in American Idol 2009: Season Eight, From the Top Eight to the End of the Line.)

Allison Iraheta:
Lil Rounds: “Allison, alleycat — that’s my girl! I think Allison is just, “Oh, my God.” When you listen to her voice, she’s not 16. When she gets done opening her mouth, she’s like a 40-year-old woman that smokes 10 packs of cigarettes.”
Anoop Desai: “There’s a running joke throughout, because she’d have to go to school [while we were rehearsing], and we were like, ‘Why do you have to go to school? You’re 32!’ And then it just progressed from there: ‘Allison’s 59. You didn’t know that?’ But that voice…”
Lil Rounds: “Like the judges said, when you hear her, you know that’s Allison. Her character, her personality, all of that, to me, fits being an American Idol. She’ll never forget who she is or change who she is, she’s never going to compromise it. She’s going to make sure she stays true to herself. The girl is bad!”
Matt Giraud: “Allison, such a seasoned voice. She blows us all away.”

Danny Gokey:
Anoop Desai: “Gokey deserves to win primarily because he was my roommate, so I feel like I imparted a lot onto him. The guy has an amazing voice — he, uh, gargled nails as a child, that’s something nobody knows. But [seriously], he brings himself to everything that he sings. Everything he sings he feels comfortable in. He’s a thinker. He has a great heart and an even better voice.”
Matt Giraud: “Danny’s a great friend of mine, and the boy can blow. He’s got a lot of soul. People call him Taylor Hicks 2.0 sometimes, and he calls himself that as a joke, but he’s not. He’s got a great heart.”

Kris Allen:
Matt Giraud: “Kris I think has grown the most out of anyone in the Top 10. He used to be the boy next door singing songs in the corner, now he’s up there, he’s a true gentleman, he’s got a bigger personality, he’s wonderfully talented.”

Adam Lambert:
Anoop Desai: “Adam can sing higher than…. ”
Lil Rounds: “Adam Lamborghini. I call him that because he’s like my fast-paced runner. He goes to these notes, and me and Anoop are like, ‘Who does that?!’ C’mon. He’s sick.”
Anoop Desai: “He has tremendous stage presence and knows how to work the crowd. He’s a sweet person.”
Lil Rounds: “He’s a really sweet guy. He was my talking buddy. When I was having a problem, or even if it came down to song choice, I’d say, ‘Adam, we need to talk.’ And he’d say, ‘Come on, diva.’ It just works out.”
Matt Giraud: “Adam is one of the greatest performers I think they’ve seen. He knows how to work that camera, he’s a great singer, he loves music — he’s really passionate about music.”

Adam was AMAZING last night! Not only was he amazing he answered his critics, with the help of Gokey, and showed us the difference between screaming and singing. Everybody can now stop saying that Adam screams… If you want to know what a scream sounds like just listen to Danny killing (and I mean that in a bad murdering chalk outline kind of way) the poor innocent song Dream On. That is screaming. You know it. It was bad. Yuck. My ears were bleeding. His fans know it too. I am sorry but there is a difference between screaming and Rock N Roll. We saw that difference last night. Vote for the Worst pick Danny Gokey = screaming. Adam Lambert = Rock N Roll.

Magpie | 5/6/2009, 10:18 am EST

Although I know she doesn’t have much of a chance to getting into the top 2, I would really like to see Allison go one more week. I think she has earned it. I agree, Danny really blew it last night. And I feel sorry for Kris being paired with Danny, although I think he wouldn’t been overpowered by any of the other singers, just because he is not a powerhouse singer.

Stardust | 5/6/2009, 10:25 am EST

Adam Lambert is the BEST performer that I have ever seen, and I have seen quiet a few at my exalted age of 58! He has it all. I had chill bumps listening to him sing one of my all-time favorite songs. I didn’t think anybody would ever beat Led Zeplin’s version of that song, but Lambert did. Go Adam!! (And who cares whether he is gay or not, the man is incredibly talented!)

Dani | 5/6/2009, 10:45 am EST

adam is getting old, he does the same thing every week it seems, the same type of songs..if winning is based on how much they grow as a singer and how much they have improved, you should look at kris, coming out of hollywood he was an underdog how wasn’t a camera hog like adam, adam is so full of himself and ehh..but yes i know it’s basically a popularity contest and the person with the biggest fan base will win, but seriously, kris is the best.

lucie | 5/6/2009, 10:49 am EST

Adam is a the one.

crissy | 5/6/2009, 10:50 am EST

Adam is the best…AI had never seen such a talent before and he does look like Elvis! Good luck Adam!
Everyone should listen to Simon…always!!

Renn | 5/6/2009, 11:22 am EST

“Who does that?” Are you kidding me? This Adam guy imitates JEFF BUCKLEY and nobody says anything. This is just sad. He sang Whole lotta love. Oh really? That’s the song Jeff sang right before he died!

He imitates before he sings and I don’t think the show is called “Imitating my American Idol”. Of course he’s going to win. Nobody cares about anything.

Kris is the best winner by far | 5/6/2009, 11:25 am EST

Kris should win! Adam should come in 2ns and go do broadway! Danny should be third and Allison needs to go tonight!!!

Kris is the best winner by far | 5/6/2009, 11:26 am EST

Kris should win! Adam should come in 2nd and go do broadway! Danny should be third and Allison needs to go tonight!!!

GO KRIS — You Sexy Thing!!!!

Anonymous | 5/6/2009, 11:37 am EST

Adam always sounds the same – he shreaks in every song. He’s good but it’s all so orchestrated! I’d rather see someone who improves each week – any of the other 3.

Lori in Ont Canada | 5/6/2009, 11:42 am EST

I know Adam will win , Allison will be second . The 2 of them make good music together hope they can record together.
Go Adam

Anonymous | 5/6/2009, 11:50 am EST

Adam is AMAZING!! Wish we could vote in Canada. Don’t let him down US!!

Deb | 5/6/2009, 11:51 am EST

I think the judges are way off base about Kris Allen. I loved his version of Come Together and would buy his CD over any of the other top 4. He has consistantly remained true to who he is and never tries to copy the original artist unlike every other contestant still in the running.

Banks Woman | 5/6/2009, 11:51 am EST

This isn’t about growth, kids – this is about who brings it every week, week after week. Nice that some of them have had a chance to mature on stage, but Adam is there already. As far as “doing the same thing every time” – well, if you mean that he has amazing interpretive skills when it comes to songs, the ability to arrange, the use of stage and lighting, yes, he does the same thing every week – brings it. As far as all-round, of course AL is there; Alison is a great duet partner for him but in view of her age, I don’t think she’ll make it (though that would be incredibly great if she stays in top 3)….Problem is, again Simon is skewing votes by his comments. Gokey is a great singer, no doubt – he should have called in sick for rock night. Song choice by Kris was a HUGE mistake. He looked like a deflated balloon at the end of his number. What a letdown. He’s a crooner, as is Gokey – let them go and study under Buble for a while.

katherine | 5/6/2009, 11:59 am EST

if this about singing- and talent- it is clear that adam has the best vocal cords and knows what to do with them. he has incredible range and pitch. he’s never off key.
the only thing that keeps me watching is to see what Adam will do next. He is the only one, i would pay money to see in concert-

basschours | 5/6/2009, 12:00 pm EST

Adam needs to go!! I’d be fine with any of the other three winning. Can you imagine the record he would put out??? Okay…he is alright singing other people’s songs, but I cannot imagine him singing his own stuff. He really is meant for broadway, not albums. I do think he is incredibly talented, but I think the other three are all more deserving. Plus…I don’t feel that Adam has any soul. He just sings to be dramatic, and has no connection to the lyrics he is singing. I cannot say the same thing for the other three.

Alexis should have made it to the final two, but I guess i’ll have to get over that one.

sheila | 5/6/2009, 12:04 pm EST

adam and allison rock!!! they have the something extra that makes them worth watching. The others I would go to for small venue entertainment- but adam and allison can pour it on.. ALL the way!!

Viper | 5/6/2009, 12:08 pm EST

Adam is good but WAY TOO over the top. His trademark screeching has become annoying.

Kris Allen is the best out of the four left. We know Idol is fixed though…. the judges keep ramming Adam down our throats.

If Adam wins- I predict he will be just another Taylor Hicks. Everyone thought Taylor Hicks was the best things since Elvis… yet he couldn’t even sell half a million CD’s.

iagreew/PhDude | 5/6/2009, 12:12 pm EST

No offense to you PhDude, but one doesn’t need a PhD to see Adam Lambert is the best performer Idol has ever seen. I just can’t understand that people are still having a hard time seeing that Adam has nailed it every week.

Sheila | 5/6/2009, 12:15 pm EST

I think this years talent has been the best ever. However, Adam is just in another league is own. He clearly has the whole package and I can’t wait to see him in concert. At this point, even if he didn’t win, he will be like Chris Daughtry,,,he’s got the exposure already and everyone is lovin him.

Robert | 5/6/2009, 12:21 pm EST

I’d pay to see Adam right now and I’m flat broke.

Poms | 5/6/2009, 12:24 pm EST

I think Adam is a great performer….but he is a screechy singer. He will do great on Broadway. Allison is amazing, but I think she’ll go home tonight. Danny is my personal favorite. I agree with someone who said he should have called in sick this week! He looked so sad this week! I think Kris will win. He is creative with his songs, doesn’t screech through them and sings well too.

Mari | 5/6/2009, 12:24 pm EST

Go Adam, go adam, you are the winner.

TurkyLips | 5/6/2009, 12:24 pm EST

I am a 71 year old Canadian and have had only 1 Idol in my life time, {Elvis Presley} and now I have 2, {Adam Lambert]. If Adam does not win,it will be the end of American Idol for me.

Hoss | 5/6/2009, 12:25 pm EST

Adam and Allison in the final…………YES……may the best singer win…..will be a hoot to watch…..they have both been amazing…..wont feel bad if either wins…..but I am rooting for Allison….but will judge on their vocal performances down to the wire….and thats the way it should be…

watcher | 5/6/2009, 12:26 pm EST

First Idol season I’d buy an album from and I’ve watched nearly all of them and held onto my money. Why? Adam Lambert. I haven’t been hot on Allison until the duet last night. Adam brought something out in her that really rocked. Is he for real?

Hoss | 5/6/2009, 12:30 pm EST

Interesting comments from other c
competetors:

Lil Rounds: “Allison, alleycat — that’s my girl! I think Allison is just, “Oh, my God.” When you listen to her voice, she’s not 16. When she gets done opening her mouth, she’s like a 40-year-old woman that smokes 10 packs of cigarettes.”

Eric | 5/6/2009, 12:31 pm EST

So Viper – the judges keep shoving Adam down our throats? AI is fixed? Prove it.

Wilcox | 5/6/2009, 12:33 pm EST

Kris ftw, Adam gets overlooked for screechy performances…screeching aint singing…

Wilcox | 5/6/2009, 12:34 pm EST

ohhh puhleaaaze ppl, stop comparing him to elvis…elvis could actually sing…

Wilcox | 5/6/2009, 12:37 pm EST

And eric, there’s nothing to prove. The judges want adam to win badly. Week after week of bull by adam has been overlooked. Some songs were excellent though, but many were truly mediocre.

Diana | 5/6/2009, 12:37 pm EST

Matt said it best: “Adam is one of the greatest performers I think they’ve seen.

I really think Adam is going to be a mega Superstar. All of the contestants are good though (particularly the Top 5). I think they will all be successful. Good job to AI this season for finding such great talent!

Viper | 5/6/2009, 12:50 pm EST

Hey Eric-

When I said Idol is ‘fixed’ I meant that the judges obviously have their favorites. They are all in love with Adam and show it. Sadly there are a lot of dumb people in America who can’t think on their own and will do the ‘popular thing’ and vote for Adam.

I bet you voted for Barack Obama too. LOL

CajunLady | 5/6/2009, 12:53 pm EST

Adam rocks!!! He has from the beginning, he’s got it together and will go far..As far as I am concerned the other two guys are more like Tyler Hicks, who shouldn’t have won a few years ago..That performance he did a couple of weeks ago was horrible. Allison is to immature yet, I think she needs to work on voice lessons. I am not fond of her screaming vocals.

basschorus | 5/6/2009, 12:55 pm EST

There is always that contestant every year that starts to get on my nerves, and it is usually the one the judges start to shove down your throat. I can’t stand when an artist starts to sound the same every performance. I think Adam was great last night, but I am so sick of the screaching. He ruined one of my favorite songs ever last week with “feeelin good.” To be honest, Adam would be better off not winning, because he would probably do better anyway because of his huge following. Adam has an amazing falsetto, but the other three are much better singers overall. I just cannot imagine Adam having a good CD that would be “current” as Simon would say. I’m just getting sick of the judges overlooking mistakes that Adam makes, just because they want him to win. They did it last year with David Cook. Apparently it didn’t matter if David sang well, because of his genre of music. I’m starting to rant, because I am getting increasingly angry about Adam. I loved Adam during his audition, but it went downhill from there. I would just love to see the final three as Allison, Kris and Danny, but I know it is not going to happen.

Amy Idola | 5/6/2009, 12:59 pm EST

Does Adam *really* screech? What would we say about Steve Tyler, Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey–all gifted singers who operate quite well at octaves beyond the norm! This is why they are exceptional! Remember how we all tuned in to see Kelly Clarkson on AI1? Adam also has a lower register, which on display last night. He has about a 10-octave range! But, sadly, Danny’s “Dave Matthew-esque” appeal flew out the window last night, along with all of my pets and most of my family members. His after-the-scream arrogance made me nauseas. Kris and Allison have remained consistent and sweet, if not constantly evolving as performers. Adam was somehow born to be on stage. Why is this something to hold against him? What bothers me (esp. this season!) is not the songs they all sing, but what we have to endure from the Final Four (judges). I mean, their bias for X or Y is blantantly meant to sway / fool us all! Well, we shall see if they indeed enlightened the masses with their vast insight and enduring influence on who should be on that bus!

Jason08 | 5/6/2009, 12:59 pm EST

Well, I think Matt Giraud should have won this season. Thanks Matt, for being a true artist.

But of the four left – Adam should take it. He’s the only one who’s had memorable performances nearly every week. Of course, he’s a great showman. Why not?

But, I still think Matt Giraud will be the one making albums, touring the country, etc in the long run. That guy is the REAL DEAL!

Adamfan12 | 5/6/2009, 1:00 pm EST

Adam rocked the house last night. Once again he showed that he is the one to beat. Danny has a great fan base but anyone could hear last night that Danny does not have the voice Adam has and he is nowhere near as versatile as Adam!! Adam….our next American Idol!!

Mimi | 5/6/2009, 1:08 pm EST

Viper…the name suits you. I don’t listen to anyone!!!! I make my own decisions. I usually don’t agree with the judges especially when they like Gokey. Adam Lambert is the best thing to happen to Idol since Simon Fuller thought of it.

Mimi | 5/6/2009, 1:10 pm EST

Adam and Allison in the final. That would be the best ever. I wouldn’t care which one won at all. Gokey NEEDS to GO!! Wish there was a way to vote someone OFF!!! I did enjoy his scream last night, laughed my head off.

Jennifer | 5/6/2009, 1:13 pm EST

I like both Danny and Adam. I really don’t understand the countless blogs i’ve read with Adam fans all but calling Danny the anti-christ and Danny fans that have pretty much done that same.

They can both sing. They both have different ranges, different styles and appeal to different people. I think we all forget eveyone has an opinion and is entitled to it.

But the hatred, name calling, down right rumor mongering should stop. This is American Idol, not American smear-tatics.

Constructive critism never hurts anyone, but when your just setting out to take a cheap shot you’ve really gona beyond critism and your true points fall by the wayside.

They all four have a talent that I only wish me and mine possessed. Whether they fall tonight or in the finals, or go on to be our Season 8 idol they will all go on to do their own thing and benefit from the experience.

Think before you type no matter who’s side your on. In the end words can and do matter.

the rocker | 5/6/2009, 1:14 pm EST

Adam should take over for that Vegas guy that just died. Gokey must go.

Jogurt | 5/6/2009, 1:18 pm EST

Danny obliterated “Dream On”. It showed a clear distinction between a scream and a sustained high note. Adam was able to hit the notes during “Whole Lotta Love”. If Danny could have held even his final note (like Adam did), the performance might have held together, instead of falling apart.

Adam is a star. Not only compared to the other contestants, but also within the music industry as a whole.

AdamFan | 5/6/2009, 1:18 pm EST

Poor Danny…trying to pull off an Adam high note last night…LMAO!

janjan917 | 5/6/2009, 1:24 pm EST

Basschours, what planet have you been living on? How can you say Adam has no soul? He puts so much into a song he can bring tears to your eyes. He makes you feel the pain–and the joy! Danny and Kris just make me want to go to sleep. I really like Allison also, and hope for an A & A finish.

Denyse Feeney | 5/6/2009, 1:26 pm EST

Denyse 5/6/2009 12:30 pm I have never enjoyed two performers as much as I enjoy Allison and Adam. Adams theatrical training has paid of in a big way. GO A&A!!!

smokinlightning | 5/6/2009, 1:29 pm EST

PHDude has the best comment – so true

smokinlightning | 5/6/2009, 1:29 pm EST

PHDude has the best comment – so true

sandie | 5/6/2009, 1:29 pm EST

Did anyone notice after Slash told Adam not to screech and keep it lower… he did just that and he did sound better. I like Adam BUT after reading a couple of comments here, one really made since. He just sings, it’s like he’s not connected to the song in anyway. He just sings the song well.

Paulina | 5/6/2009, 1:33 pm EST

ADAM CAN SING THE PHONE BOOK AND MAKIE IT SEXY — HE’S THAT GOOD.

He brought out a spark in Allison’s singing and personality that we haven’t seen yet. Plus he has the genuine respect and affection of the other competitors. And he’s a hit with ALL the judges, from the resident four to Smokey Robinson, to Slash, — even Randy Travis said that he can sing, and he does so with abandon and is utterly passionate about his craft. His body of work surpasses those of the other contestants by a quantum leap.

New superlatives need to be created to describe Adam. He is truly amazing. I can’t wait for his albums, music videos and movies — he has an incredible career ahead of him. I’m just dreading the withdrawl we’ll fall into the AI season ends. Bravo Adam!

basschorus | 5/6/2009, 1:35 pm EST

It may not have been Danny’s best performance last night, but he is still a better artist and more likeable guy! You can just feel the arrogance from Adam with every performance. Nothing turns me off more than arrogance, and there is a fine line between arrogance and confidence. Adam was just not meant for this competition. He should be in Vegas or on Broadway, and there is nothing wrong with either one. I am a huge broadway fan, and it always makes me happy to see Idol Alum make it to Broadway. All four contestants can sing, and I have to say, all contestants left know who they are as artists (especially Kris), and I do love that. Allison is my favorite, but I have to say Kris’ is the CD I would run out and buy first.

I don’t disput that Adam has talent, but I don’t think he is amazing as everyone is making him out to be. I just don’t want to see him win this competition.

VARocker | 5/6/2009, 1:35 pm EST

Last night we were treated yet again to a free rock concert by Adam Lambert. Thank you Paula Abdul for noticing this brilliant young man so early on. Thank you Adam for sharing your incredible voice and passion for music with us, you are inspiring.

basschorus | 5/6/2009, 1:42 pm EST

Everyone is entitled to their opinion janjan917. Like I’ve said, Adam has amazing talent, and I do agree that Adam has great passion for what he does. I think they all have great passion for what they do. I just never feel that Adam is connecting to the song on any personal level. He just sings and performs incredibly. Maybe that is where is drama background hinders him a little. He may be connected to the songs, but I don’t feel it, and I’m sure I’m not the only one.

Allison will only get better with time, and I think Danny and Kris are great. I never saw Kris as a competitor until he made the top 13. I now have grown to love him, and I still think that his performance of “Ain’t Know Sunshine” should go down in Idol history as one of the best vocals and best performances ever.

Luckilindy | 5/6/2009, 1:45 pm EST

Danny is pure heart and he gets to me. Not last night because that style of rock is not my taste, but last week….he blew me away. I’d like to see him win because he communicates emotion…not just performs.

Lara | 5/6/2009, 1:49 pm EST

ADAM … AND ONLY ADAM …

IS THE STAR,THE REAL STAR…

LP | 5/6/2009, 1:55 pm EST

To basschorus: Quote from Danny after the judges’ critiques: “Whatever. I’ll try to do better next time.” I replayed the show on my dvr, so when I say this is a quote, trust me it is. Ok, if this isn’t arrogance I don’t know what is. Danny, I truly hope there is no next time! Not only are you a strained singer, but you lack humility. Why were you clapping to yourself after your performance? Did you think we actually enjoyed it? See, there is a difference between being arrogant and being confident, and Adam possesses confidence on stage that is SUBSTANTIATED, because he hits every note and has endless charisma.

Adam Is # ! | 5/6/2009, 2:00 pm EST

Basschorus…. you are on on good stuff, Adam arrogant> he is always polite humble and a gentleman, how can you say that when Gokey claps for himself, yells safe and never ever take any type of constuctive critisizum,pluleezze……..he has never done anything original and didn ‘t work with Kris at all. Danny is an Adam wanna be and thats all he’ll ever be, go to church and hear him there where he belongs

jennifer toronto | 5/6/2009, 2:01 pm EST

Well Well Adam really nailed it last night! He took that Zepplin song and blew it out of the water!
He does not yell when he is singing he pulls you in when he sings unlike the other 3 singers =boring yawn tired.
Adam is the best thing to happen to american idol in a longggg time hope he wins win adam win:)

Roger | 5/6/2009, 2:02 pm EST

Adam Lambert is the ONLY American Idol contestant that I have EVER rewound my DVR so I could watch his performance over again!

American Idol winners can become huge stars. Oh, wait, he is ALREADY a huge star. Seriously, which one of these contestants would you plunk down hard-earned cash to go see perform? Only Adam.

Mandy | 5/6/2009, 2:04 pm EST

The “IT” Factor….Adam’s just got “IT”. Born with “IT”…Going to be “IT”. Easy Call.

Adam! | 5/6/2009, 2:07 pm EST

A Whole Lotta Perfect! A Superstar! A rock God! Da bomb! In the star zone!

nzr | 5/6/2009, 2:11 pm EST

PhDude (first comment on this blog) expressed my sentiments exactly.

ChiChiMom | 5/6/2009, 2:14 pm EST

I am a 57 year old Canadian Mother who has been watching Idol year after year. I wish I could vote for Adam. He has come across so professional on Rock N Roll night! If anyone was tuning into the show and didn’t know it was a talent contest they would have truly thought he was a veteran rock star!
I truly hope he wins this year. He is he best thing that AI has brought to its stage in all 8 seasons. Adam Lambert has a huge fan base here in Canada. WE LOVE YOU ADAM!!!

mkatie | 5/6/2009, 2:16 pm EST

i think adam lambert is awful. i can’t imagine him as a recording artist, he belongs on a broadway stage. i think he is arrogant and not nearly as fantastic as everyone makes him out to be.

Danger | 5/6/2009, 2:21 pm EST

Adam is IT! Allison is close! Danny is OK. Kris is HORRIBLE. Can’t even imagine what anyone sees in Kris. He seems smug and overly-confident (for no justifiable reason) except last night when almost cried knowing how poorly he did. It is time for Kris to GO!

Fran Meyers | 5/6/2009, 2:23 pm EST

I have always watched American Idol on and off, but this season has been the best. There is no doubt that these 4 people left are the best Idol has had, but they don’t hold a candle to Adam Lambert. I have never voted for anyone on American Idol and now I would not miss it if my hair was on fire. I would pay right now to see Adam in concert. You can see he is a true humble person and loves what he does. I cannot beleive that he was not discovered before this show. My second choice would be Allison, she is wonderful too. P.S. I am 50 years old and love Adam what does that say about his talent.

taz | 5/6/2009, 2:23 pm EST

It is clear who the winner is, regardless of who wins the ‘american idol’ title…Seriously, who would you pay to go see,,,hmmmm,,,Adam has, by far, surpassed the others with his vocal talents and his tremendous stage presence. He was born to entertain. Allison comes in at a close second. Just in stage presence alone, they beat the others.

CAO | 5/6/2009, 2:29 pm EST

Adam…. has anyone noticed that Adam is the most amazing physical specimen of a human being???? When he is standing on stage with everyone ..it’s like what planet did he come from he is a giant…not just a giant talent… and I bet the has a giant heart too (betcha thought I was going to say somethin’ else..huh)…LOL.

lilmama | 5/6/2009, 2:33 pm EST

What makes a guy that can sing higher than most girls so special? I honestly don’t know how anyone can listen to a full song, I always end up muting it. Kris has true talent.

Watching Idol from Dubai and loving it. Adam is outstanding!

CherelleDay | 5/6/2009, 2:53 pm EST

I am new to this chatting/commenting online stuff and was only compelled to bother because I found something/someone worth talking about. This particular group is more verbal and less incoherent lovestruck fools, which I appreciate. However, regardless of personal taste there is a question of talent, professionalism and presentation.
KRIS is a “nice” fella for a worship leader/missionary in a mega-church. He seems earnest and can sing a mellow song. I am sure his previous CD was nice. I felt really sorry for him last night as you could see defeat in his face when the judges really burst his bubble, but by now he has heard about his notable pitch issues and been warned to stay within his range.
DANNY was undoubtedly great as a choir director and will be again in between his local gigs or perhaps cutting a bluesy/christian/rock CD. Despite being inexplicably kid-gloved week after week by the judges, he is awkward on stage as he has been gently told repeatedly, and his lack of connection and mechanical efforts were really glaringly obvious last night. We won’t even go into the horrific screech at the end of a song that Adam could have NAILED SOLID.
ALLISON has a God-given talent that we will all know in the future as she will not just fade out! She has been doing this for years and will undoubtedly continue. (BTW ALLISON – Keep using Adam’s stylist Girl! 1,000,000% improvement in the hair!)
THEN WE COME TO ADAM who has been the #1 American Idol since his audition, no matter what the mindless masses think. Everyone I have spoken with in the music industry agreed from the start that this season is all about who will be #2. Allison should be that person on talent alone and although she is the only one even in the vocal stratosphere, she doesn’t have the training, seasoning or sheer instinct that Adam possesses. He is Charismatic and knows what the AI public wants and will tolerate from him. Every week he proves mastery of a different style or genre while never losing the unique sounds that are his alone – It doesn’t matter what he sings, his fans will know it is him. That is one difference between an artist and someone who can “just sing”. Adam is an artist, and I predict he will prove that to the world without reservation in the near future despite AI not because of it.

basschorus | 5/6/2009, 3:16 pm EST

Point taken about Danny last night. I am aware of what he did and said last night. On his defense, If I were Kris, Allison, or Danny, I would get sick of all the praise directed pretty much only at Adam. It would be pretty hard not to feel defeated knowing they don’t want you to win. They are all talented, and I don’t think some get the praise they deserve half of the time. I think it was only a matter of time before the rest of them broke. Allison finally spoke up, Danny somewhat dismissed them, and Kris let it get to him (it read all over his face). I don’t put them down for that, because I can only imagine how difficult it is to have the entire nation and world critique you.

I still feel that Adam is the arrogant/over confident one. …but I do somewhat agree with the comments about Danny last night. It was definitely not his shining moment.

I also just want to put this out there…is anyone else upset that the contestants did not sing two songs each? I miss that at this stage!

ADAM ROCKS. HE WILL DEFINITELY BE THE NEXT AMERICAN IDOL AND THE BEST ONE YET.

htownchica | 5/6/2009, 3:20 pm EST

Adam is the best!! i wasnt even gonna watch this season until my friend told me about him…now i cant stop watching! anyone who says hes not good is a hater!! even if he does get voted off he will be fine just like chris daughtry so it doesnt really matter! he really is great…so is Allison their duet was awesome last night! kris is good too but he took the criticism badly..u could see it in his face..he needs to be more confident in himself! ok and danny was awful last night….im just not that into him…and simon was right…that last note did sound like something from fri the 13th…i really hope he goes home tonight and adam and allison are the final two! i love adam!!!

lrs | 5/6/2009, 3:24 pm EST

Time will tell…when the artists go their own ways and come up with their own music instead of copying other artists. Only then will the true talent appear if there is any?

kinsey | 5/6/2009, 3:30 pm EST

Gokey is just as good as Adam when he is in his zone, which he wasn’t last night. I think Allison is the true talent…but she won’t win. I think in the end however her career will outshine the others.

MrsBaker | 5/6/2009, 3:31 pm EST

ARE the judges on CRACK? Allison nailed Janis Joplin, Janis set up in the grave and gave a standing O. As for Adam, if he is not the next American Idol… America is deaf, dumb and blind… The guy is simply outstanding… go ahead and cut him loose, this way I can see him and hear him sooner…. Sorry Danny but seriously, I can’t stand yet another typical singer from Idol… and Chris, you are a favorite of mine, no Idol, but I am sure there are hits in your future… Allison, YOU ROCK… stick close to big brother Adam and you both will go far.

wilson | 5/6/2009, 3:34 pm EST

Yes, Adam is it, big time. But I disagree with a cpl of the judges’ comments last nite. Adam, please do not make a career or first CD out of acid rock! You will not become an international superstar if you do. Last nite’s song has already been done, and you did not put an original spin on it like the other songs you have sang. I agree with what you said in one of your interviews that you would like to mix it up on a CD. To become the mega star that is within your reach, please do not stick to one genre. Love you.

MW | 5/6/2009, 3:37 pm EST

ADAM. What planet are you from, my man? Sexy as f*** and phenomenally talented, can’t get enough of you!!!!!! Oh, and I’m diggin’ the tight pants. The minority of people say you scream when you sing. Maybe you do, and it nearly makes me orgasm. Oh I like.

drwo | 5/6/2009, 3:37 pm EST

PhDude said it all. Adam blew everyone away and Gokey blew everyone’s eardrums out. Simon got that one right.

LINDA | 5/6/2009, 3:38 pm EST

I wish you people would quit calling Adam a Rock God. He is not a God of anything. He is a great singer and has amazing talent but a God he is not. As far as I know Adam has never said that only fans. I believe he will be the next American Idol and I dearly hope he is but let us remember he is a man. I am 54 and have cried at some of the songs he sang I was so moved but please lets put him where he belongs on a stage singing to us and not a God somewhere.

carlos | 5/6/2009, 3:42 pm EST

adam is getting old, he does the same thing every week it seems, the same type of songs..if winning is based on how much they grow as a singer and how much they have improved, you should look at kris, coming out of hollywood he was an underdog how wasn’t a camera hog like adam, adam is so full of himself and ehh..but yes i know it’s basically a popularity contest and the person with the biggest fan base will win, but seriously, kris is the best.
______

Obviously this person is from the dull planet we cannot see with our naked eyes, because anyone with clear vision knows that Adam is the most original of the dull bunch. Kris is for putting me to sleep and Adam is the wake-up call. Gokey is dull with an exclamation point and Allison needs to mature a little before she rocks the world. Adam is ready, right NOW.

Bowie | 5/6/2009, 3:45 pm EST

Flash
Adam is not going Broadway, his talent is international, so hang on to your underwear and enjoy the ride. A star is born.

zing | 5/6/2009, 3:46 pm EST

“he deserves to win because he’s my roommate”? LOL. These idols are telling us nothing, pretty much.

It’s obvious Adam is the best singer with the best stage presence. Then Allison is next who is very consistent and stays true to her genre. Kris seems to make the most off key notes and mistakes, but is pretty good. So I’d say it would be fair if he goes home next. Danny, is pretty good, but not super fantastic with vocals.

And the Fake rock scream he did last night wasn’t good at all. But Danny’s appeal isn’t his singing so much, but young teeny bopper girls with pink cell phones will vote him him because they think him winning will make his dead wife happy… LOL. It’s true! They will never admit it, but they are eating up this sob story.

Sure there’s legit fans who just love his singing, but add in the extra’s hooked on the story, and I think Danny might have enough votes to win, but for all the wrong reasons. That said, in terms of singing and performance, I choose Adam and Allison for my favorite top two. It probably won’t happen though…

Ula | 5/6/2009, 3:47 pm EST

Prefer Robert Plant’s version however Adam has an incredible vocal ability! Hope he will get a chance to work with good song writers in the future and find his own style (good old rock would be nice). I can’t wait to buy his album….and I never thought I could be attracted to a gay men! What a pity we can not vote here in London !!!

CS | 5/6/2009, 3:50 pm EST

Adam Lambert is by far the best singer and has the best stage presence. He is confident as to who he is as a singer and can sing just about any song. After all he should he has performed on Broadway and has played in many underground grunge bands in LA. He will have a record contract even if doesn’t win this year, like Daughtrey. Allison is by far the next best singer, however, I believe that she is too young to be introduced into the music scene at this point in her life. The business is very cut throat and for someone young and naive well that could end badly for her. Kris Allen sang his solo performance so much better than Danny did last night. While I think that both are great singers I would like to see Kris Allen again next week. I believe the bottom two will be Adam and Allison. Go Adam – KEEP ROCKIN’

I’d rather go to sleep every night listening to Kris than to think I’d have to be awakened by Adam’s annoying voice.

ForMeForYou | 5/6/2009, 3:54 pm EST

“anyone who says [ADAM is] not good is a hater!!”

Total hater here. I was definitely a Glambert fan early on, but after awhile, his signature scream on EVERY SONG got to be too much. And while I’d really love for one of my gay, cross-dressing brethren to win a show like American Idol, what was once innovative has become old hat (and downright annoying) for me.

Bucklberry | 5/6/2009, 3:55 pm EST

Regardless of who does actually win, chances are they’ll be on the trash heap in 18 months time. Chances are Adam will win, as most think, but I think Allison should. Adam over sings every song, yet despite the judges telling others not to overindulge they say he’s “using his chops”, whereas Allison does sing for the song while still showing her voice in a restrained and well judged manner. As for the Buckley comment regarding Adam, he really isn’t fit to restring Jeffs shoelaces let alone touch his guitars (sorry for the present tense there).

maxima | 5/6/2009, 3:59 pm EST

Adam was amazing as usual on Whole Lotta Love, but his duet with Allison was even BETTER! Adam could have easily swamped Allison’s talent, but instead he coolly split it down the middle and let Allison have her best ever performance. In my book, that is quite the opposite of arrogance.

Steve | 5/6/2009, 4:01 pm EST

Kris most original of the bunch. Adam too much over the top, again. The best duet was the two guys, look up the definition of duet, supposed to blend, not be a thrashing session.

Zed | 5/6/2009, 4:22 pm EST

Adam really showed how it’s done.
Amazingly he seemed to reveal Allison’s own talent in their duet. That’s how talented Adam is.

Danny’s scream will be remembered and it’ll probably re-air on America’s Funniest Videos. Danny has a good voice though but he’s trying too hard and often appears very amateurish.

Kris, has some good musical skills, but his singing often comes out as bland.

Bottomline, you don’t need to hold a guitar to rock, Adam proved it.

AG | 5/6/2009, 4:26 pm EST

As an entertainer, artist and singer there is no comparison to Adam. I am in my mid 40s and have been singing in bands for 20 years and I can tell you, he is an amazing talent. He knows how to reach his audience, both in the theatre and through the camera. He has charisma, sex appeal and the most control of his pipes that I have ever, EVER heard and I have heard some dang good singers in my career. Like some others have noted, I almost wish he wouldn’t win because he could move much faster without AI’s committments. He is the only idol contestant that I have bought songs on I-Tunes, ever, and the only one I have re-wound to watch over. I would go to one of his concerts tomorrow because I know he will be ENTERTAINING!!

I liked Gokey in the beginning but I do think he is arrogant and it is starting to show, and whatever his attitude was at the beginning of last night’s duet cinched it for me. A duet should be a DUET, means you feed off of each other, and while Chris has never been my favorite, he at least seemed to attempt that with Gokey but it was clear that Gokey was ticked from the time he first started singing. Time to go-Gokey.

Anonymous | 5/6/2009, 4:28 pm EST

Matt Giraud: “Danny’s a great friend of mine, and the boy can blow.

And see…, we all thought Adam was the only one who blows guys.

brococktail | 5/6/2009, 4:30 pm EST

Freddy Mercury,David Bowie,…Axle Rose….Adam Lambert…need I say more.

Hwillia | 5/6/2009, 4:31 pm EST

Adam is just awesome. I am 47 years old and he just pulls you in. Allison was great to when they did the duet…Rock on Adam..

Olivia | 5/6/2009, 4:35 pm EST

I think it’s obvious that the producers want a two-guy finale. Allison is just as good a singer as Adam, but the judges don’t worship her nearly has much as they do him.
Adam is my favorite, but I have only liked his calmer songs like “Mad World” and such. I have to agree that after a while, the big scream things get tiring. Yes, Glambert, we KNOW that you can sing those crazy high notes.
Thankfully this year, I don’t really care who wins. If Adam wasn’t gay, I’d be rooting for him all the way…well, not all the way, because I don’t like some of his songs. But if I had to pick anyone to win, it would be him, Allison, or Kris. And I think there is a pretty good chance of one of those three :)

basschorus | 5/6/2009, 4:35 pm EST

I don’t understand why everything thinks Adam is sexy!! I am a gay man, and no offense, but I don’t find anything about Adam sexy. His clothing choices are hideous, not to mention his bad skin, bad hair and overdoing the make-up.

So go ahead and call Adam amazingly talented…that’s ok, but I just can’t find him sexy at all. Kris and Danny on the other hand, are very easy on the eyes!!!

basschorus | 5/6/2009, 4:38 pm EST

And come on…I’m sick of everyone saying Adam is the reason Allison was so great in the duet. Yes the duet was great…but it was great because of Allison. Allison held her own, and I personally think she outsung Adam on the song.

Just Sayin' | 5/6/2009, 4:47 pm EST

Everyone always says Adam is the same screechy, unbearable, glammed-out, arrogant, boring chump week after week. So, you would agree then, that Mad World, Satisfaction, Tracks of My Tears, Do You Believe (Cher) and Whole Lotta Love (oh, let’s not forget Ring of Fire!!!) are all just the same ol’ blah blah blah boring renditions of screechy crap. Yeah, right. Guess your eardrums were blown out by Danny’s Scream Heard ‘Round the World! Or? …

bill | 5/6/2009, 4:49 pm EST

Take a look at Lambert..If that guy isn’t a mega-star in the making, who is..? Great looking.. model material, sex appeal, believe me for men, and woman, and I love woman, only, but can recognized a handsome man, and give him credit for that. Sing!! HUH he can sing anything, from the sounds of it. Every record producer, and advertisers dreams of someone that is the whole commerciasl package and more..Movies? why not can Tom Cruise sing..or act for that matter.?hahaha.
WIN AMERICAN IDOL? Hands down. If he doesn’t, he will go on to be a bigger star, than anyone else since Idol inception, including Clarkson and Underwood..Bet on it,..

janjan917 | 5/6/2009, 4:50 pm EST

Olivia, what difference does it make if Adam is gay or not–this is a talent contest. Who he likes to make love to has NOTHING to do with talent.
Adam is a very talented guy—he is the whole package. Allison is right behind him, pretty close to next once she has a little bit more life behind her.
Danny is way overrated and is arragont—although I think even he knew he had messed up last night—he did not have his usual smirk on his face after his preformance—or our ordeal, however you want to look at it.
But, getting back to Adam—-you only show your ignorance when you talk about him being gay. Whether you like it or not, this is the 21st century and they’re everywhere. Gay’s live amoung us and society continues to survive. I am a straight girl—but not narrow minded!

Holly | 5/6/2009, 4:54 pm EST

Adam, in my opinion, is BY FAR the best singer in the competition, in fact the best singer Idol has ever had. And I’m a bit tired of negative comments concerning his sexuality, and about how he is not the kind of role model parents want their children looking up to. I’m a right-wing, conservative, Christian person and I take my beliefs and faith very seriously. However, to be so judgemental against Adam because of how he looks (make-up, black nail polish) or because he is gay is wrong. He doesn’t flaunt his sexuality in the audience’s faces, he’s kind and respectful to the judges and his fans, and he’s not self-righteous at all. He’s an incredibly talented young man who deserves to win this singing competition. I like Danny okay, Allison is great, Kris is not my style, but Adam is truly a gifted performer, and is not a one-hit wonder (which I fear will be the case if Danny wins). I’m off my soap box now. Thanks!

tajik | 5/6/2009, 5:02 pm EST

The most talented, the most handsome – yes, this is ADAM and everyone with good taste for music and talented people, is with me.

GO DEAR ADAM!!!

coop | 5/6/2009, 5:08 pm EST

Danny seriously needs to go. His poor attitude and arrogance was disgusting last night. We all know that a duet takes two singers and he completely ignored Kris. Kris obviously tried to perform with Danny but he just stood there and tried to outdo Kris (which he didn’t do!). Then that horrible scream! Steven Tyler needs to call him up and tell him to not even attempt another Aerosmith song! I’m really getting sick of the judges trying to manipulate the viewers. It would be great if they would honestly and fairly critique the performers. Instead they come down on Kris when he stayed on key and put himself into the song. Then make excuses for Danny when he DID NOT stay on key, SCREAMED and was SELF-INDULGENT! Again I say, DANNY NEEDS TO GO!!!

I can never bring myself to vote for Adam, even though I think he is the best singer/performer. He’s had years of professional experience in his career. The others aren’t so lucky to get the opportunities Adam has. Sorry Adam fans. This is about giving someone the opportunity who normally would not get one. In the finale I’m voting for the other guy/gal.

urthebest | 5/6/2009, 5:21 pm EST

#2 Allison

I don’t think that Allison will last that long… but she should!

David Archuleta was nice, modest, great vocalist, and adorable! Adam Lambert is fun, modest, great vocalist, and enjoyable!!! Archuleta better than Adam Lambert, but Adam Lambert is still GREAT!!!!!!

Nikki | 5/6/2009, 6:26 pm EST

I have been very impressed with this season’s contestants, more so than any other season. They all are very talented singers, and, I’m sure, will all have great opportunities ahead of them. I’m sure it’s somewhat difficult for all of them to be competing against someone as fearless, gifted, passionate, and polished as Adam Lambert. I’m also sure it’s awkward at times for him, being so much more the center of attention than the others, while, at the same time, wanting to win. Fortunately, they do seem to have good, respectful relationships with each other, and, hopefully, that will not change. Having said all that, I have been cheering for Adam since Hollywood week (I missed the SF audition show), and am so excited to see that I am not alone (HA!) in appreciating his amazing performances. This is history in the making…American Idol has never had, in any season, such an impressive contestant. I cannot WAIT to start buying his CDs and tickets to his concerts! Good Luck, Adam! Always stay true to who you are. Your fans love you!

Adam should win AI.Last night he blew the socks off the house!
His unique style and voice change everything when he walk on to the stage.Danny sucked Allison just wailed and kcris was just kcris. But i have a feelng that despite Adam performance they want a n all amerian boy that would be chris.Adam is to good for AI.

I´m so sorry the show is ‘American’ Idol and we brazilians can´t vote! I´d love to vote for Adam! He´s the best guy to win! Great performer! His voice… talent… stage presence… looks… charisma… creativity… endless qualities!

Why you Americans would vote for average guys when you have Adam?!!!

Would you loose the opportunity to vote for and crown the next American ‘legend’? Like Elvis?

You already did a bad choice when you crowned Taylor Hicks and let Chris Daughtry go…

Don´t do it again! Adam is bigger than Chris! Bigger than any other idol!

Ive been reading the comments and there are alot of Adam fans.
I can understand why.He is amazing supertalented sexy guy who can sing like theres no tommorow. He has to win i will be watching AI tonight and hope and pray that Adam Wins.Im worried though that somepeople just don’t get him.
Kris is the all american boy Boring yawn.He will be safe tonight aswill Allison and Adam!!!
BYE BYE Danny nice pipes….NOT.
Win Win Win Adam jennifer loves you from toronto

Jokerswildvt88 | 5/6/2009, 7:43 pm EST

Adam Lambert Sucks. I will admit he has some pipes. But the judges have made him way to cocky.I hope to god he dosen’t win. Allison Iraheta or Danny Gokey deserve way more than Adam ever has. I HATE ADAM LAMBERT! GO ALLISON AND GOKEY! :)

tad | 5/6/2009, 7:45 pm EST

I’m going to clear this up. ADAM IS NOT OUR AMERICAN IDOL!!! He’s fake and doesn’t know what genre of music he’s going into. If he wants to sell good, he’s going to have to find that genre. He should stick with broadway. No one can pull off screeching without getting people annoyed. It’s just not singing.

Lisa | 5/6/2009, 8:42 pm EST

Tad
I’m going to clear this up. THAT IS YOUR OPINION. Don’t pretend or even think you speak for the rest of us.

Adam is the best thing to happen to AI. They are privileged to have him.

Cheryl in Henderson, NV | 5/6/2009, 8:46 pm EST

Adam not only has a GREAT voice but he has charisma. His eyes remind me of another great singer. I believe they call hime “The King” He has that Elvis attraction going on. Even my hubby who NEVER watches the show is watching ADAM!!!

cocopie | 5/6/2009, 8:48 pm EST

Adam, wow you blown me away with your performance and your brilliant voice. I am a mother of two, and my family who never watch American Idol is only watching because of you. You are next American to be. We love you and keep rocking!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

IVoteForAdam | 5/6/2009, 8:56 pm EST

tad, honey, screeching is what Danny Gokey did yesterday… As PhDude said (10:01 am EST), ‘if you want to know what a scream sounds like just listen do Danny killing (and I mean that in a bad murdering chalk outline kind of way) the poor innocent song Dream On. That is screaming. You know it. It was bad. Yuck. My ears were bleeding. His fans know it too. I am sorry but there is a difference between screaming and Rock N Roll. We saw that difference last night.’

And as Simon said, those final notes were like a horror movie, haha!

See? Adam = rock n roll
Gokey = screaming

Allison should not have been voted off. She was the best one, then danny, then adam and kris SUCKS!

Darla | 5/6/2009, 11:24 pm EST

Adam rocked the house last night! He brought it like I knew he would! I don’t care what the haters say, he is the best performer/singer I HAVE EVER SEEN IN MY LIFE, and I’m 36! If Gokey (or is it Dorkey?) wins, it won’t be because he has any talent, it’s because people feel sorry for him. If you haters have actually been watching the show like I have from the beginning, you would see that Adam is the most humble, the best looking, the most talented, and the only one who deserves to win! Danny is so arrogant and it’s actually funny to watch because he actually thinks he’s good. He obviously hasn’t heard of a website called votefortheworst.com! GO ADAM!!

Rachel | 5/6/2009, 11:25 pm EST

America is stupid for putting allison and danny in the bottom three and voting off allison

Rachel | 5/6/2009, 11:27 pm EST

this is a warning to the people that voted off alison! you better be prepared for allison to have number one songs on the radio! BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!

adamsluvjnes | 5/6/2009, 11:40 pm EST

Adam is the best. AI is not about growth, it is about finding the hottest talent. They have found it in Adam Lambert. Adam does not need to grow, but he is willing to grow. Even when the critiques are not always the best for him, he comes out the next week and uncannily knows what to do to vault himself to the top. He told Simon at his audition, “I’ll surprise you, I promise”. That is what he has done, not only for Simon Cowell but for the world. Danny had been played up by the producers of AI because of his dead wife, and he actually started off good. He was one of my favorites from the start, but the smell of success has tainted his heart and he thinks that he has it in the bag. I do not care how talented you are, it is nothing without humility. I see humility in Adam every week; I see a person willing to help the other singers, even when some will think that would be to his detriment; but Adam is a d**m good singer and knows that talent and showmanship and charisma will win out. Adam has boatloads of everything that it takes to be a mega star. And he will. Adam’s fanbase is growing by leaps and bounds, and we will do everything that we can to catapult him to the top. Danny’s fanbase pinned a name to Adam, thinking that is would be a insult to him. The name was/is Dark Lord Screamanova. Some of us now classify ourselves as Minions of the Dark Lord Screamanova 0 Adam Lambert. Scream all you want, Baby, all the way to the AI title. And the winner of American Idol Season 8 is …… ADAM LAMBERT!!!Glambert 1475 present and accounted for.

Leslie | 5/7/2009, 12:11 am EST

I have a nasty feeling that Gokey will win this. If he wasn’t voted off after last night, I don’t what can make him lose. He is clearly the least talented of the four (strained voice, no low to high range, no artistry, absolutely no stage presence), but I guess the pity vote and the bigots have united for the defense of mediocrity…Sigh…

Banks Woman | 5/7/2009, 1:04 am EST

Warning: Never give 13-15 year old girls telephones on a Tuesday night again. The weakest singer of the 4 is still there – Kris? Come on. Alison is done? Long live Adam….King of AI….BTW, has anyone started the official Adam Lambert fan club yet? It’s Time!

Patrice | 5/7/2009, 1:33 am EST

I was disappointed that Danny Gokey was not voted off. I love Adam, Allison, and Kris – and now Allison is gone, and Danny is left. While I liked him at first, I no longer do. He sounds the same every week, and he is arrogant. He thinks he has it in the bag. Well, he can win and go the way of Taylor Hicks – which is zeroville, and the rest will go the way of Daughtry, who was voted off at this same point during that season. Adam will go on to be a superstar, and Kris and Allison will do very well. Danny? He needs to show a little humility and support for his contestants. So much for being Mr. Christian.

Anonymous | 5/7/2009, 2:23 am EST

Now that Allison has gone home, I vote for Adam. Danny is drab and is getting pity votes most likely. I do not see star quality. Kris is sweet and will do okay, yet I do not know about long term. Of all of them, Allison stayed true to herself and is mature beyond her years, and will be a star. Danny and Kris need to go home soon.

Troy | 5/7/2009, 2:44 am EST

I am SOOOOO sick of Danny! He is an ok singer that gets votes from the conservative ignornant. Everybody wants to trash Adam about being gay. I am glad he is honest about who he is. (Even if AI is not!) Now, if all the haters would be honest about who they are.? Humm??? Are you proud to be a hater?

Jo Moore | 5/7/2009, 3:26 am EST

I haven’t seen the show this week as yet (we get it Thursday and Friday in the UK) so I have yet to ‘enjoy’ the now legendary Danny scream. I have, of course, watched Adam’s Whole Lotta Love on Youtube. Everyone is entitled to their opinion but two comments – Adam does not screech, people, but emits a true rock scream, perfectly melodic and spot on every time. Hear the studio version of Feeling Good for his sublime upper range. And how anyone can say he does the same thing ever week is just totally, totally beyond me – they can’t be listening to the same show. Adam all the way – he’s a superstar!!

Mun from Singapore | 5/7/2009, 5:37 am EST

We love Adam

allison iraheta | 5/7/2009, 7:38 am EST

Hi guys. I can’t beleive that Allison got voted off.I love all those guys except for Danny. I think he should have gotten voted off instead of Allison. Everyone is saying that now that Allison is gone, Adam is going to slow down, like not do his best. But i have to disagree. I think Adam will do his best to win the compitition. After all he is the only hope for the last 3 left. Lets face it, if Adam gets voted off, there will be like way less votes coming in. Did you hear what itunes said? They said that Kris was going to win the whole thing. Um I don’t think so! Danny’s solo was a horror movie!I mean what was with that last note?!? Adam’s was perfect! And Adam and Allison’s duet was awesome! It couldn’t get better than that! Allison’s vocals were awesome but that was the wrong song for her. And i have one thing to say about Kris, the theam was rock not slow. That song wasn’t ever close to rock. And Danny and Kris’s duet was horrible! Another thing is that they shouldn’t have chose that song because Kris isn’t rock material!

adam lambert lover | 5/7/2009, 8:05 am EST

omg… adam lambert is the hottest guy EVER!!!!!!!!!!!! he is the best on American Idol, so was Allison Iraheta. i’m going to miss her.. but Adam Lambert win totally win this and if he doesn’t well then there is going to be alot wrong!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

franticFan | 5/7/2009, 8:24 am EST

There was no single performance night that Adam didn’t own and of course it’s not surprising that he ruled Rock Night as it’s one of his favourite genres. Hopefully, all those who are eligible to vote clean their ears during performance nights so they would be able to differentiate a scream from a good high pitch delivery. At least I know now that Danny’s fans are aware that it’s Danny who is actually the screaming queen of the season. Jeez, my eardrums still hurts terribly until this time. Congratulations Danny Gawkey — you just established yourself as the owner of the worst performance sung in all of American Idol history. The Gawkers must be so proud of you!!!

dlt | 5/7/2009, 8:32 am EST

Attention Patrice, Frantic Fan, Nina, all commentators: you should all be American Babble participants. I’ll be watching Dynasty re-runs.

isla | 5/7/2009, 9:15 am EST

Weird how the people who can’t stand Adam choose to forget The standing ovation he got from Smokey Robinson, the one he got from Cowell for Mad World, the beautiful interpretation of If I can’t have you… And every mentor has not just praised him but have liked him. He’s never once been arrogant (not his “fault” that the judges rave. He never just performs. No amount of just performing could get the response he’s getting world wide. Old and young, people respond to him. As for being too experienced… More nonsense. All the stage experience in the world won’t win fans. People are flat out downloading his studio versions which proves it’s not his stage presence that’s winning the day – but his singing. Modest, talented, and mad about music. That’s what he’s about. Music. The Danny, Kris fans aren’t backing them for their music ability but for other reasons. Allison, you rock too. Same reason. She sings because she has to. Made for it. Same as Adam. The other two don’t have that innate ability. They’re nice. That’s all. Nice.

Andy In London | 5/7/2009, 9:17 am EST

Dumbest and most telling comment on here, and I won’t reference the commenter’s name, was “I’d vote for Adam if he wasn’t gay.” WOW! At least whoever this was had the honesty to admit they’re a homophobic idiot. I really don’t understand the Adam-bashing that goes on. None of the criticisms are grounded in reality. He CAN sing circles around everybody else, does NOT scream or screech, and comes off consistently as not only professional, polished, and prepared, but as a genuinely sweet, humble, polite, and all-around likeable guy. I thought Slash gave him really excellent advice when he told him not to improvise as much in his high register, but to focus more on the middle. While I LOVE his high register, and think it’s amazing and phenomenal, he runs the risk of alienating those who find it off-putting by using it too much. I think that’s part of the maturation process for him as a performer. He has a unique gift with that ability, but would do well to use it a bit more sparingly. That said, I still think he is a truly phenomenal singer – brilliant, exciting, flawlessly executed vocals. He communicates through his songs incredibly effectively, and is a true showman. He ABSOLUTELY deserves to win, and I still think he probably will, but you never know. Gokey, while clearly not without talent, is really not much more than a hyper-annuated wedding singer. The fake growl is just annoying, and he is pretty much charisma-free onstage. And with all that, he comes across as arrogant. Kris to me comes across as very sweet, and has a pleasant voice and strong musical instincts, but is ultimately about as exciting as watching paint dry. He will probably continue to get a lot of votes from pre-pubescent girls based on the fact that he’s very good looking in a non-threatening, boy-next-door kind of way.

Bottom line, though – ADAM ADAM ADAM!!! By far the best AI contestant in the show’s history. Period.

Andree | 5/7/2009, 9:22 am EST

Danny Gokey had one bad night and the world is trying to tear him to pieces! Kris Allen had more than one bad night and what is he still doing there with the true winners?

Deb | 5/7/2009, 9:24 am EST

There are different types of music because people have many likes and dislikes when it comes to their choices. Yes, Adam has an amazing voice and I would go in a heartbeat to hear him on Broadway, but I would not pay anything to hear him sing hard rock because it is not my thing. I think Allison and Danny are both great singers and I would enjoy both of them in concert singing the type of music they are good at-Allison’s husky soulful voice and Danny singing classic standards. The person that has grown on me with his original style is Kris and I would buy his CD first. That’s just my own personal choice!

loraine | 5/7/2009, 9:24 am EST

AMERICAN IDOL very bad decision, last tima was DAvid archuleta lost and win david cook, mistake. does the judges vote for their favorit and not for the talent.
ALISON was the best and this judges did a big mistake again. do you think tha a gay person will have more popularity than alison?, give me a break. DISCRIMINATION OF ALISON, SHE IS THE VOICE, SHE IS THE STAR NO QUESTION.

circe | 5/7/2009, 9:30 am EST

Bless you Adam;you have made life so much more interesting. Beautiful voice, and great humility. May you continue to soar; you deserve to.

alabama girl | 5/7/2009, 9:46 am EST

i don’t like adam. i can’t stand the jet black hair, black finger nails, and all the face make-up he wears. he is no camparison to elvis and he sure can’t sing like elvis. everyone is making him out to be something he is not. he can’t sing, he screams all his songs. he can’t sing slow songs because of screaming. screaming is not singing. the best “SINGERS” on the show has left already, Lil and Allison, what is wrong with America? Can they not here? adam murdered ‘ring of fire’. i wish everyone would quit psyching him up. he is going to crash soon.

ATL Carol | 5/7/2009, 9:50 am EST

OKay, so now we have the “openly straight” Danny, the “Methodist” Kris and Adam in the final 3. Stick to voting for talent and leave your stereotypes and bias at the back door!! Allison, you didn’t win the popularity contest but your talents will live on in your pocketbook. Obvious choice is Adam!!

Rachel | 5/7/2009, 10:12 am EST

To whoever was saying that Rock week was unfair to the others because it is Adam’s forte…How about Movies week, was that unfair? Or the year they were born, was that unfair too? And how about disco week, also unfair? EVERY week is ADAM’s week, so yah, every week is ‘unfair’ to the rest because his talent makes otherwise decent singers sound mediocre at best. Speaking of unfair, country week could have been unfair to Adam and Alison but they killed it! That’s the mark of a true artist, making the best out of every opportunity, not going up there to complain how this is not you style of music or how you butchered a note because you could not “hear yourself” up on the stage.

bluejay36 | 5/7/2009, 10:12 am EST

I’m also from Alabama and I too can’t stand Adam. He is really not even all that. He has just developed a high falsetta and is able to move in and out of that. It only shows that he has learned a technique that almost every man with an ear can be taught how to do. So,he really has no special talent. He is being an actor on american idol stage and the rest is real. No matter how much I hate him I fear it is going to come down to him and Danny. Well, it matters only now what the voting population votes. Mine is going to Danny!!!!!!!!!!!

B.... | 5/7/2009, 10:14 am EST

Alabama Girl: You may not like Adam’s stage appearance..but to say that all he does is scream is ridiculous. Did you see his performance of ‘Tracks of my tears’, or ‘Mad World’. You obviously don’t know much about music or vocals.

Bren | 5/7/2009, 10:17 am EST

Here’s the deal! Adam – by far – is the most talented, artistic, and capable. You’d feel you got your money’s worth seeing him perform on stage.

Here’s the glitch! Adam deserves to win – but if he does – his natural talent will be boxed in for at least a year by his contract with AI. The delay in letting Adam strut his stuff may diminish the powerful edge he now has with his fans. He is ready and able to be a musical and performance superstar.

Kris has shown great growth and some good originality. I think he has the potential and the fans to win AI. I also think he could go far in the music world. Danny was my favorite from the start. I think he is a good Christian man and admire him. But, I think he will be the next to be sent home. He doesn’t have the good looks of Kris or the pizzazz of Adam.

Doing rock at the end of the competition worked for Allison and Adam. It is where they fit best. It put Kris and Danny at a disadvantage vocally. They are good middle range vocalists, but they are not screamers and boisterous performers.

MassforAdam | 5/7/2009, 10:28 am EST

Alabama girls, I am a Boston gal and our idol here is Adam Lambert! His range and versatility are astounding. Danny’s voice is one dimensional, and I find him boring and clumsy, and Kris is cute but his voice cannot compare to Adam’s. Not that the AI title matters at this point, because Adam will become the most successful contestant from Idol ever, mark my word. The rest will be forgotten after a year because the kind of people who are voting against Adam (but not out of love for Gokey or Allen, more like out of hatred for Adam) are thankfully not the ones who drive the music sales in this world. Just my 2 cents.

idolfan | 5/7/2009, 10:29 am EST

I am a 48 year old female and I absolutely LOVE Adam! I’ve seen Zeppelin in concert and have to say Adam did em proud. How can you not see that this guy is a superstar? He has the “it” factor and he has the power to draw you in. I can honestly remember every song he sang this season. I can’t do that for the others. They are forgettable whereas Adam is memorable.

Terry | 5/7/2009, 10:32 am EST

First off they are all pretty good or they would not have gone this far. That said… Danny is a nice guy with a compelling story but that does not make an AI. Kris is a cute face that got a little farther due to little girls voting for him because “he’s so cute”. If I voted like that I would have had Bikini girl go all the way.. but I vote with my brain… sad to see Allison go as she was my favorite… but it has been pretty clear that Adam is the AI this year. He delivers week after week after week… Gay shmay..who cares… base your vote on talent and not “I hate gay” or “He’s so cute”. Adam is it unless the brainless get their way.

Chatty Cathy | 5/7/2009, 10:44 am EST

Adam has a one of a kind talent !!! He is a gifted, charismatic, and special person. His voice is amazing. He represents what stage presence is all about. Go ADAM! You should be the next American Idol! You will be the next American Idol. Can’t wait for your first album! Sorry to see Allison go. Adam and Allison definitely do some thing together in the future. That would be super!

sue | 5/7/2009, 10:57 am EST

i am a 50 year old young and i love adam tuesday nights cannot come fast enough. he has talent that well excessd the others. so what if he is different thats what makes him adam . judge this show on talent noa popularity contest . i will buy adams cd win or lose he just makes me smile.

Daveandme | 5/7/2009, 11:01 am EST

Who really cares…
There are things more important than a popularity contest. That is exactly what this is. That is why Allison got voted off, she is an AWESOME singer, but was not popular.. I bet we will see her and hear her again soon!!

Shana | 5/7/2009, 11:12 am EST

I loved reading this, especially the parts about Alison being old or Danny gargling nails. It seems like the finalists have a lot of fun with each other.

Cam | 5/7/2009, 11:39 am EST

Adam is going to win. It is what the show wants. They have shoved him down America’s throat. Apparently, there are those who enjoy his ‘brand’ of prancing, screeching theatrics. I don’t. I’m sick of him. I will stop watching if he wins.

jsauer | 5/7/2009, 11:42 am EST

All I can say is Adam should have this hands down. He is an amazing singer and just plain fun waiting to see what he is gonna do each week. Can you really say that about any of the others. Adam is a class act with an amazing talent. Something that AI hasn’t had till now. They’ve had some great singers but not as versatile as Adam. He can go in any direction with his music. And he has proved it weekly. We need to desperately vote for Adam this coming week. Can you begin to imagine a final with Kris/Danny. Oh my god, what a sleep fest. Adam should be in the finals. Unfortunately Danny isn’t going anywhere. He has all his church goers voting for him. Kris should unfortunately go as he is the only thing that would be holding back a really good show. I would desperately love to see a Kris/Adam show but it just won’t happen. Look at it, we couldn’t get rid of Danny and he did the worst song of all seasons. We need to get real. Power voting this week is what we need to do. Go Adam.

RJ | 5/7/2009, 12:11 pm EST

My wife has drawn me into watching AI, which I had despised being a fan of music that is not of the canned, cookie cutter variety. Sure most of the people have varying degrees of talent, which doesn’t really matter, because its a popularity contest. Producers creating some drama to up viewership, probably. People (majority)with no clue about singing, performing, recording, voting for people with marginal or limited talent, (just read the blogs), definitely!! Thats what the show is about. So now the only 2 (only 1 now) contestants to make me sit up and take notice (due to their unbelievable ability and natural talent) will be passed over for some more of the same, masses are *sses, unoriginal, overproduced crap(can you put that computer sound on my voice) that I don’t listen to anyway. I will be waiting to hear more music from Adam and Allison. Kris or Gokey will win AI.
Do we really need another Dave Matthews……really?

AI fan | 5/7/2009, 1:07 pm EST

Do any of you really think at this point people are going to change their mind? We Adam fans can go on and on about how brillant he is and how amazing his vocals are, but the Danny and Kris lovers are sticking by their boys.

So, if Adam fans want to make it happen, you gotta vote, vote, vote!!! The AI system is really screwy. How could Allison be voted off? No way!

Regardless of what happens on AI, Adam is already an international star. He is talanted and so distinctive. But wouldn’t it be nice to make him officially our American Idol.

SPORTSMOM | 5/7/2009, 1:39 pm EST

Adam is, by far, the most talented person on this season. Chris doesn’t even belong on the same stage. I couldn’t believe that Allison was sent home before him. It is utterly ridiculous. Danny is ok, but doesn’t have voice or the stage presence that Adam does. You go Adam…from all your fans in Pittsburgh!

Banks Woman | 5/7/2009, 1:45 pm EST

I look forward to reading the comments on this board – sadly this contest is purely a popularity contest. Too much personality is brought into it – for example, poor DG, yah, he lost his wife and that is horrible…but it doesn’t make him the automatic choice. Kris – yes, the little girls love him even though he is MARRIED YOU IDIOTS! Sweet kid but lacks versatility. Alison had “IT” in a baby form but easily will make her way up to the IT factor that Adam L has – and he has IT. Gender has no room in this contest; nor does a person’s religion. This is about talent. Talent to move from genre to genre with ease; talent to choose the right song and ace it. Talent to communicate with the live audience as well as the television audience…and Adam is the only one who has brought me to tears, jumping up on my feet, waving my arms, and screaming like the girls did for the Beatles in 1964. Kris and Gokey – sleepy time lullabies, both of them. Alison: We’re going to miss you. Can only say that the population of voters is not a musically savvy audience. I couldn’t imagine a year of Gokey or Kris…

aiDude | 5/7/2009, 2:20 pm EST

Adam is by FAR the best contestant this year, and I’d go as far to say the best in AI history. Of course not everyone will agree and each person has their own favorites for a multitude of reasons. But it’s very obvious that Adam not only has the best voice, best stage presence, the “it” factor, the best talents, and he ’should’ win period.

I actually like all of the top 4. I liked Danny too at the beginning, but week after week he just sounds like he’s constipated when he’s singing. No way, sorry dude. Kinda over him.

And for everyone saying that all Adam does is scream, well not only is that inaccurate, but it’s the only stab you can take at him. He’s exhibiting his ‘range’ and can still sound good doing so (a feat not many can come close to). No one can touch him on this show. There’s not many artists in the world that have these abilities. He will be a true showman.

An exceptional singer with Adam’s talents only comes around every couple decades. I can’t wait for his future to begin.

Whether America gets it ‘right’ and votes Adam, or if their ears are still clogged and eyes blinded and they vote otherwise, Adam will be BIG either way. Maybe it’s better if he comes in 2nd so he’s not so binded by AI.

I will certainly lose interest in AI if this TRUE talent doesn’t win. It would be an obomination otherwise. Wake up America, this isn’t a beauty competition or anything BUT a ‘vocal ability/singing’ competition. Adam runs circles around everyone.

silvernana | 5/7/2009, 2:22 pm EST

I am a 67 year old conservative grandmother, and from show #1 I picked Adam to be the winner. He is extremely talented, and I think his star power could be equal to that of Elvis. Anyone that thinks he can’t sing is ignorant of musical ability. He can sing anything. Go to Youtube and listen to him sing the song from Brigadoon(opera) and “I Just Love You”. It brings tears to my eyes he sings them so beautifully. He has charisma like Elvis – I agree with Paula that you just can’t take your eyes off him when he performs. He is sexy, good looking, and seems like a wonderful human being. It will be a travesty if he doesn’t win, but he will be a star nonetheless. It shouldn’t be about whether he is gay or not – he should be judged by his talent, and he is so far above the others it’s unreal. I had Allison as my #2 pick. The other two guys are just OK.

Adam is Clay Aiken with black hair singing 80’s butt rock.

Even if Garth brooks changes his name to Chris Gains, paints his fingernails, and rocks out. He is still Garth Brooks.

Adam draws a crowd, but his talent is limited to a New York Broadway show about rockers. WAY TOO DRAMA. “Adam Lambert on Broaway”

i know, i’m odd man out.

This year, AI has the best vocal talent ever.

Adam soars above the rest because he can sing and is theatrical. Why is he so good? Because he has years of “on-stage” singing experience in theatrical productions.

Adam has professional on-sage singing experience – he has the edge.

AI is for amateur vocalists – not pros.

Adam will be successful no matter where he lands in the competition, but he has experience the others could not yet imagine.

It is not a fair race. It’s like having a high school tennis star play against Venus Williams.

but i loved that girl in the auditions who didnt get through, cnat remember the name, but she was like “oh no, when the cameras on me i start doing CRAZY stuff”

There are countless reasons why I love Adam Lambert – his incredible vocals (oh, that mind-boggling low-to-high range!), versatility, originality, stage presence, good looks, great style, fun personality, humble and polite behavior off-stage – but perhaps the biggest is the fact that he is daring, honest and true to himself! Bravo Adam, you are such a complete human being and an inspiration to so many

adam is an emo/goth kid that we do not need our kids to start acting like, my kids would be in boot camp if they tried to resemble that freak in any way, also he is a guy, loosen the pants and deepen that little girly, there’s something in my but scream at the end of every song!!!!!!!!!!get adam off of public broadcasting!!!!!!

Yay | 5/7/2009, 6:11 pm EST

Adam Lambert is on the cover of this week’s Entertainment Weekly! A solo cover! Has that ever happened with two weeks left in the competition? I don’t think so, but this man is exceptional and hence worthy of any exceptions!! He is a star, the HOTTEST thing in entertainment now, the IT boy! Thank you EW, you just made my week and that of many, many other fans. Rolling Stones magazine should put Adam on their cover too, they’d sell millions of copies.

OneIdol | 5/7/2009, 6:18 pm EST

KG, I encourage my grandkids to look up to Adam (and steer clear of idiots like you). Why shouldn’t they? He is very talented, original, focused, hard working, and such a sweetheart. He is honest, daring and true to himself. He uses his energy to create art that has touched so many of us. Bravo Adam, you are the complete package, a rare gem and a role model in my household!

To KG | 5/7/2009, 6:48 pm EST

KG, you are not looking bright, because you managed to make a bunch of spelling/grammar/reading & comprehension mistakes in a 12-word sentence. Not great grandkids, that woman wrote just grandkids. The word is spelled granDkids. The future IS looking, not are looking. Prejudiced AND dumb, now that’s a shocker.

Woman with musical sense | 5/7/2009, 7:01 pm EST

ENOUGH about how Adam Screams! If you want to hear screaming — play back Danny’s travesity to an Aerosmith song. When Adam “SINGS” in his high register and “HOLDS” that note for minutes that is a talent that others yearn for. Danny demonstarated that he is a buffon — trying to imitate Adam –something he can only dream about. And trying to make a joke and say it was AI’s funnies moment — Danny can you ever be honest and straightforward — stop making excuses – YOU sounded like an idiot and displayed your lack of talent. How anyone can be Danny worshipers are beyond me. Remember Singing Stars all end of in Hollywood where it is expected for start to be bigger than life. We all want our start — music or FILM to be different — and ADAM already is! Even sweet Carrie Underwood went from a farm girl to dating NFL stars! AND stop looking at ADAM if is is someone to look up to — FANTASIA won and she was an unwed mother — nobody dammed her for that. CAUSE this is about the best talent and ADAM is in a class by himself. JUST keep voting — we cannot let him down!!!!!!

Woman with musical sense | 5/7/2009, 7:48 pm EST

sorry I meant “stars” not starts. When I think about you Danny lovers I get crazy and forget how to type!

In 1965 (or was it early ‘66?) I watched some late night TV, saw Batman (as Adam West) sing. A bit of a letdown

donna | 5/7/2009, 9:02 pm EST

Gokey was terrible and with whatever he sings it is the same sound…He couldn’t sing rock and roll if he wanted to….
I do not understand why he got to stay after that awful mess..he should of been sent home

peggy | 5/7/2009, 9:04 pm EST

Adam is amazing and really talented….He should win AI..he is so good….

Idol Fan2 | 5/7/2009, 9:32 pm EST

adam is to high on himself, he’s good but he knows it too — it’s disgusting really — I personally hope for chris to kick some ass, he’s the most “real” person left in the show.

Samantha | 5/7/2009, 9:51 pm EST

this is the most boring AI season in 8 years. We have known the winner & runner up since the top 24.
This by no way is the most talented top 3 either. There have been many singers who are stronger singers. They may not put on a big light show but they are strong vocalists.

Arizona | 5/7/2009, 10:08 pm EST

KG you have a screw loose making comments like that. I hope you seriously don’t wish any harm to any of these performers. Wishing Adam Lambert to be put in a barrell and have the barrell welded shut is wrong. What is wrong with you? You are calling an entertainer a freak. You are really an ugly person if you think this way.

pebbles | 5/7/2009, 10:54 pm EST

I’m from Danny “scream-on” Gokey’s hometown. I was determined to NOT watch AI this year, however, local radio/tv stations are constantly pimping Gokey.

Tuned into AI about a month ago…immediately, after watching show, I knew Adam was the one… he is not only a great singer – from heartfelt songs to rock – but also, a great entertainer. I’m also impressed with his performances prior to AI… from “Is Anybody Listening” from the Ten Commandments to “Crawl thru Fire” from the Zodiac Show.

This show is about singing and all around talent. Danny is a one-trick pony and Kris’ songs are not memorable. ADAM FTW!!! Everyday, it seems I need an Adam fix–he is ny drug of choice. I have all his songs…

sandy | 5/7/2009, 11:37 pm EST

Ahh, he totally is on the cover of next week’s Entertainment Weekly as the Most Exciting Contestant (they say “in years”, I say EVER)! Amen.

KG | 5/7/2009, 11:45 pm EST

You are an ignorant idiot for your statements re: Adam. I feel sorry for your children.

Claire from NYC

cincerity | 5/8/2009, 12:15 am EST

I actually like all 3 of the guys that are left. I think Adam has the most vocal range of any of them and is the most polished but he does get a little over the top at times. Mad World was fantastic but some of his other songs were a little too much for me.
Danny has a soulful voice and seems like a good guy but I’ve bought a couple of his songs on itunes and I don’t think I would enjoy a whole album of his.
Kris is my favorite. I’ve bought all of his live and studio performances on itunes and he has a great recording voice. I could listen to him all day. And I think he’s the most versatile and talented of the 3. He’s a singer/songwriter and can play several instruments. As far as I know the other two guys don’t write music or play instruments. Kris is just the total package. And he’s a nice guy and good role model at that. In my mind, the perfect “idol”.

idolfan | 5/8/2009, 1:51 am EST

As I read all these comments, I can’t help but think this is just a singing competition.. Many of you seem so possessed, so sickly wallowed in your hatred and prejudice. Grow up and just enjoy the wonder of the talent that lies before you. Bottom line: they are all gifted and unique individuals with no hidden agenda. Vote for who you like and stop judging!

Nicole | 5/8/2009, 2:08 am EST

i like adam alot he has been my favorite from day one. but i do agree with slash his lower notes sound way better then the high ones. not that their bad, but he turns alot of people off when he screams

RJ | 5/8/2009, 3:21 am EST

I hate when folks just regurgitate what they hear the judges say. Um, don’t buy into the hype–think your own thoughts please. Folks here have commented “this is a singing competition” NOT–if that were the case, emphasis on performance would not be stressed so much, either directly or in those horridly cheesy group songs they make the contestants do. If it were purely a singing competition, we wouldn’t need to see them on stage and the show could be on air, over the radio, online, etc. The judges all comment on their clothes, their stage presence, how they work a crowd, their charisma… So no young un’s, it’s not JUST a singing competition. It’s more than that b/c fox wants to make them into POP idols and want them to sell records to preteeny folks who go to see performers at concerts. They don’t want to be bored to death by the likes of Danny. They want to be entertained. It’s why the best singers don’t always win unfortunately.

african fan | 5/8/2009, 4:32 am EST

adam lambert is the greatest contestant to ever make it on idol, he is awesome and he’s got the charisma and sex appeal. each week he delivers and blows people away. my mom loves him so much and looks forward to seeing him every week. adam makes your day he is going to be a legend, and i don’t believe he’s gay even if he was it doesn’t matter i’m a muslim and i don’t care if he is and i don’t think he is. he would make a great song with someone like christina aguilera who also has the greatest voice. i’m praying for him and i know he is going to win. we love you adam and don’t listen to the haters their just jealous.

Rhonda | 5/8/2009, 5:45 am EST

Each week I always look forward to see what Adam will bring next. Excellent performer and singer. I have no qualms about this boy, I would buy his cd or a ticket to his concert. If he isn’t number 1 then something is wrong with this country

Go Kris Go! | 5/8/2009, 7:28 am EST

It is a same that the judges and the media keep shoving Adam down our throats and in our faces. We all have different tastes in music and our own opinions, so JUDGES let us make our own! Danny is a nice guy, but he hasn’t shown us anything different each week and I don’t know what everyone else is hearing, but he’s never really on pitch. I was sad to see Allison so, but she should do well. Look at David Archuletta! I must say that Kris is my favorite. He is very talented as a musician and a singer. His CD would be the only one I would buy. I’m hoping that he blows them away this week. I hope it goes down to Kris and Adam in the final. Two opposite kinds of performers, could make for an interesting show! Good luck Kris!!!

My canary Pierre wore a Mickey Dolenz wig in ‘66, sang Hey Hey We’re the Monkies. He wore shades and a black bathing cap in ‘71, sang Shaft. He could sing high like the Gibb bros. He wore a dog collar, sang Anarchy In the UK. In the eighties he went drag, sang Girls Just Wanna Have Fun, Welcome To the Jungle. He went Grunge, sang Smellz Like Teen Spirit. He wore a regular, pale bathing cap, sang I’m Not Too Sexy.

Now he can sing Life Sucks Without You. I could make some money w/ this old bird

Adam Rocks, anyone who says otherwise is biased. He is definitely the most intriguing of the lot,he is bizzare, but leaves a lasting impression vocally. The rest are talented but do not have the same staying power nor do they have star quality :)

Lucy | 5/8/2009, 11:45 am EST

Adam is the only one I would by a CD from or pay to see at a concert. The others are fine but so plane and predictable… That’s why Adam get’s such a love/hate response. He just stands out like no one else ever did at AI.

rachel | 5/8/2009, 12:41 pm EST

I love rock stars, but Adam Lambert? No way! He’s too full of himself and screams on most every number. He’s just plain disgusting! Danny is my #1 favorite, with Kris at a close second!

gonzog8tr | 5/8/2009, 12:48 pm EST

American Idol is a corporate music cash cow most amply represented by Clive Davis’ slimy, re-occuring presence. This is just what has gone on in the biz most of the time since the Fifties. The contestants are sadly crippled novices who are at the mercy of the industry because they don’t write or play very well and they are stifled by contractual obligation and miscreant career management.

dlt | 5/8/2009, 1:44 pm EST

Clive Davis couldn’t deal w/ Iggy Pop. But he liked Patti Smith–and Bill Mahr

angel | 5/8/2009, 3:37 pm EST

Adam was totally Awesome! last night, just as he has been every week. I can’t believe the people who say he sounds the same every week?? So sorry to hear about your hearing lost! Adam has been different week and he has been awesome with every genre they have had to perform. Unlike some of the other contestants who couldn’t handle singing different genres. And for those who say Adam ’screams’ OMG, that scream from Danny was so frightening my grandkids ran into the other room!! Adam has the biggest vocal range ever on AI. His ballads are so sweet I want to cry and he totally rocks on the upbeat songs. Whether he wins AI or not Adam will be a SuperStar!! His songs are the most downloaded on iTunes. And for someone who made the comment about him being a ROCK GOD, which I think he is, it was Kara that called him that first, the fans just picked up on it. I like Allison too, and I think the duet with Adam was great. They brought out the best in each other, unlike the duet with Kris and Danny which was painful to watch. To those who call Adam arrogant, Adam has always been humble and sweet. He listens to the comments from the judges and mentors and he actually acts on it. Unlike Danny, who acts as if he knows better than the judges/mentors. And although I like Kris, he always makes faces when the judges make a comment that’s negative…and I find him a little boring. I’m really surprised he’s in the final 3, it should have been Allison.
Someone else mentioned the name that Danny’s fans gave Adam – Dark Lord Screamanova…well, I too am a Minion of the Dark Lord Screamanova and Glambert#646 (btw, anyone interested in joining the Glamberts, which is the largest Adam Lambert fan group, with over 2300 members, just go to the American Idol site and join the MyIdol community.) VOTE FOR ADAM! ADAM ROCKS! LUV U ADAM!

Linda | 5/8/2009, 4:20 pm EST

To all you Adam fans, try to at least double your votes from now on.

To the few anti-Adams, if your favs had any star quality, they’d be the ones that the ENTIRE world is buzzing about. Refusing to face reality doesn’t change it.

Sherry | 5/8/2009, 6:12 pm EST

Adam Lambert is the only reason I will keep watchng American Idol this season. My other favorite, Allison, got the boot, so now my full support goes to Adam.

Adam is in a class of his own. I don’t mean any discredit to the other contestants, but he not only has the vocal ability, he has the charisma and stage presence ..in other words he is the total package. He can go from the soft tones of Mad Mad World with unrelenting conviction to an all out rock performance as he did with Whole Lotta Love, and he did each as though it was second nature to him.
To say that the judges are “shoving Adam” down the viewers throats is ridiculous. They are calling a spade a spade. Danny gets a heaping helping of praise as well…and to me he is just mediocre….there are so many Danny’s out there. I find at times he is shouting when he tries to put intensity into his songs. Why in heavens name he would choose to do Dream On is beyond me. That was suicide. Not only did he shout the ending..the beginning and the end weren’t great either. I agree Danny has had some good weeks and I will give credit where credit is due. The only two cd’s I will by are Adam’s and Allion’s . Thank goodness AI is finally giving us some good music and great guests..and when you can get a mentor like Slash…that’s the icing on the cake. Slash gave Adam good advice and I’m glad Adam took it. He has an amazing upper range, but I’m glad he used it in balance when he did Whole Lotta Love. Too much upper range in that song could have hurt Adam’s chances.
I got my tickets today for the AI tour and I can hardly wait to see Allison, Adam and Matt. I liked Matt’s Justin-Timberlake style and I liked him best behind the piano. I would buy Matt’s cd as well if that is the style he continues with.
So all in all…if it comes down to Adam and Danny..it makes not much difference to me who wins. Adam will be a success no matter what position he finishes in. If you go on the Idol discussion boards, he has the most threads, the most fan posts and from what I’ve read, many people are going to the concert mainly to see Adam. Once again, no disrespect to the others, they’ve done remarkably well to get as far as they have.
Good luck Adam!

Sherry | 5/8/2009, 6:17 pm EST

oops..just noticed a typo I made. I meant to say the only cd’s I would buy are Adam’s and Allison’s.

Jan | 5/8/2009, 6:21 pm EST

If Adam doesn’t win, the show will be publicly humiliated forever. Are the others good? Absolutely. They just happened to be on the one season where they are up against someone who defines the New Millenium. They’ll do well and have successful careers, but Adam has kept Idol from sinking into a pit of the same ole same ole this year and revived them. He deserves to win for saving the show.

Adam should win. The talent there is just crazy. I don’t like everything he does (but usually it’s more song choice than anything else) and I’m a Kris fan, but even I can’t deny that Adam deserves the title. I just wish danny fans could come to their senses…

Thanks to American Idol for letting us know about Adam Lambert’s talent. We are waiting to hear his first CD any time soon. He is already the new American Idol. I am enjoying his performances since day one together with my 13 and 6-year-old daughters.
Congratulations Adam!

Adam Addict | 5/9/2009, 8:44 am EST

Why do people call Adam arrogant? Is America blind? Adam puts himself into each performance and really “act” (for want of a better word) the part eg of a rocker – Whole Lotta Love. Stop being superficial and trashing him only for things that you see on the surface.. nail polish and liner and helllllooo, he is totally cleaned up for “Mad World”. I watch AI mainly for Adam and personally do not like Danny. But apart from commenting on his performances (that infamous “Dream On” scream is a tribute to the werewolves) I won’t think of trashing him as a person. So shut up Danny-fans. Go sing praises of him elsewhere but don’t make personal attacks on Adam or the others. We don’t care what you think. Too bad we can’t vote from Asia.

Phillip Sullivan .....Atlanta | 5/9/2009, 10:00 am EST

OK I have read this entire Blogg it just amazes me in some of just plain ignorant comments being made…
First of all Adams songs sound just alike…LOL are you deaf? listen to the studio versions and you will see really truly talent that only comes along once in a great while. I have a cd I made and it is aweing to any one who has listend to it… Do you realise there has not been this kind of a stir in music world really since Elvis.. lol that is what people that know talent and and in the professional ranks are saying.
Prediction and I am pretty good. He will be a megastar after said and done a household name(providing he does music that apeals to all )(that came from him directly)My mother who is here 60’s loves Elvis and said this Lambert could not hold a candell to him(that was before she started watching him. She has since changed he stance on that) Oh and hates the rock music… country through and through( and she told me he is awesome..
and as far as screaming as so many of you put it you are clueless.. What danny Did was screaming with no control Adam as complete control and his songs are not even remotely close to sounding alike… Adam is a Rare unique Haileys Comet you will see..
as far as Danny goes he is in the Top 3 from what he has done to this point…(because it is sure was not from last night that is for sure) he finally stepped it up last week and gave some push to his peformance… and this week AEROSMITH are you kidding me Slash should have derailed him from that…horror film…

and as Far as Kris goes he is getting by with his off key I am the cute guy and everyone will love me(obviously that is the case wich is BS)there are alot of Kris’s out there that are so so and that is about it(just a popularity contest plain and simple.
Danny should follow country(what hurts the most was Excellent)An Please never try rock again.. Please………….
But there is only One Adam and no one like him….IE Elvis No I am not comparing the 2 at all but the circumstances are simular(Both very unique with their unmistakebale voices) the difference is Elvis clawed his way to imortality… Adam has an edge in this day and age because of the Exposer of Him to the world, Via AI 64 Million votes do I say more..
and In closing Allison no way she should have left no way you cant tell me or convince me that kris is better no way and Dannyshold have been on the bubble at the very least..
My prediction is America will vote Danny the winner( huge mistake but I see it comming because in a whole most would not know talent that is eveident from some of the garbage in the Top 10 to date….LOL if the general american audiance dosen’t even Know who runs the country like our senators and congressmen then how in the Hell are they going to know anything about true talent that is a gift….Careful what you wish 4

Adam True Artist…has the X factor wich most don’t( I am just glad to be in the era of a Star being born that is what is so Awsome
Here is the funny thing I picked Adam and Danny from their auditions to be my early favorites( What I did not know is just how Good Adam really was to be,) He has grown from day 1 till now to a driving force unlike whe have seen in Decades.. Love him or hate him it is fact!
I have not been to a concert since Skid Row opend for Bonjovi forever ago lol, But you can be sure I will pay to See Adam first Chance in my city.

Sincerly Phillip In Atlanta

First of All my apoligies for the couple of missing letters in my previous Post

Did anyone see the TMZ Vultures capture Adam and 2 Female companion’s comming from Dinner at Resturaunt… DId you See how he handeled that with his carisma.. But the kicker was when the A..hole asked how does it feel you could be the first_________ to win LOL WTF was that and Adam goes the First what? as Personally I could give a rats ass whether straight bi or what ever… Hell we elected a President who is Muslum(not politicaly correct could careless if I mispelled that) for crying out loud….
From what I have read all over the Web I Beleive that America truly wants Another Elvis…. truly And I beleive Adam has all the tools to achieve to be one of the best in a long long time…..
one last comment and this is kewl if you watch closely some of Adam’s Stage presence has some elvis moves as well as the lifted upper side of his mouth on some lyrics….I am 42 So I Know what I am talking about very very kewl… indeed
I have feeling good on my ring tone on my phone the studio version part that I edited, leading to his grande finally of the song lol I get comments as Who was that(when My phone rings) LOL I just laugh and Say the Is Adam lambert… this is just awesome to be a part of
Sincerly ,

OK Adam Lambert fans remember to vote for the full two hours after the next 2 shows until the finale. Let’s send a message to the world that we know what is GREAT!!! Yeah, I’m one of the Grandmas who thinks Adam is the greatest singer/entertainer since Elvis. He is a pure joy to see each week, and to me he seems like a sweet guy, too. He is one of a kind. As others have said, I can’t wait to buy his first CD. I also bought an ITunes card and downloaded everything by Adam–videos and studio versions. Go Adam!

mandi | 5/9/2009, 12:20 pm EST

To **SPORTSMOM** up there saying CHris, actually spelled with a K, doesn’t belong on the same stage as adam.. you’re an idiot. Evidently you don’t realize they are two COMPLETELY different types of people and singers. Kris has his own thing going for him. Do you truly expect all of the American Idols to be exactly the same? This is what makes a competition. Kris can sing and perform, no doubt. Adam can sing, also. Why not just praise Adam instead of bashing on Kris. It’s pathetic. He obviously belongs on that stage or he would not have made it to TOP 3! American Idol isn’t about rock & roll. That was a THEME, just a reminder. It’s about finding TALENT with their own personal genre of music. My opinion is that people should probably think before they make ignorant comments on stuff like this. I also saw another one that was a little strange to me. **Linda** if you’re so concerned about Adam being the best and the rest of the contestants not having talent, or whatever it was that you claimed, why was Danny NEVER on the bottom and Adam was, and I also believe you said about us sucking it up.. you’re obviously in the same situation, getting upset because not everyone is a fan of Adam’s. Just think people.. These guys have it made. They are all great. They will all get record deals. It’s sad to see so many people bashing on the others’ dreams.. because they aren’t your favorite does not mean they aren’t talented. Think about it.

Eve | 5/9/2009, 12:36 pm EST

Hahaha! Hihihi! Hohoho! We almost died laughing! As Gokey started to SCRRRREEEAAMMM the last note, Paula who was dancing, sat abruptly soo scared of that Friday the 13th screaming note. Kara tried so hard not to burst out laughing while Randy was giving the critique. It was crystal clear Gokey was delusional to think he can get away with it. His arrogance shows that his belief in himself not accepting it was a horror as Simon was saying that he first has to watch it again. I don’t know if his smugness is due to IMMATURITY he thinks the world is at the palm of his hand being pimped always by the judges even after this DISASTER. Or that his solid voting blocks get into his head, he thinks he’s on top of the world. Get real, Gokey. You’re not great. You’re really only one dimensional. You Doo doo doot every song even on heavy rock. It’s Xerox copy all your renditions

Lis | 5/9/2009, 1:14 pm EST

I do think Adam is extremely talented, but as soon as he starts to scream in each song I have to fast forward. I just don’t get how people like that. He is a performer. I think all three deserve to win for different reasons. They are all really good.

Sussy Ochoa | 5/9/2009, 5:02 pm EST

(basschorus) well maybe for a gay man Adam is not sexy, but for us the ladies, yummy he is sexy, wild, an elegant black panther with style and moves, even knowing he is gay, there’s something when he sings, and performs that turns us on. :) Adam should win, he is the best contestant in AI’s history, with all do respect to all contestants, there have been great contestants… but this guy is from the big league!!!

I loved the way he treated lil rounds and Allison so kind….boy have you all got it right when it comes to Gokey I can’t take him and he was awful rock night, but no he would not admit he picked the wrong choice of song…Just laughed it off like it was nothing..Is it would of been one of the others off they would of gone……vote…..vote

phil | 5/10/2009, 1:28 am EST

as you all sit at home, and judge all these kids are great singers, adam is good he has got my vote but danny, kris, allison and the rest of the top ten have got it made from now on, so sit back watch tv and bitch, if you could do better, than you would not be sitting in front of your tv every tuesday and wednesday night bichting

maberry | 5/10/2009, 1:39 am EST

Adam has amazing talent and he has worked hard to develop that talent. I am one of the “grandma” fans and I have never seen or heard a talent like Adam’s before. You can tell he loves music and it is a joy to watch him every week. Thanks, Adam, for bringing joy and excitement to the music and entertainment world.

All Adam fans unite and vote like crazy!

dlt | 5/10/2009, 7:51 am EST

What happened to Adam Ant, the cartoon too? Kelly Clarkson starring in the Nancy sinatra Story?

Jackie | 5/10/2009, 4:11 pm EST

That’s all they had to say about Kris Allen? Whatever.
See you in the finals, Kris! :-D

dlt | 5/10/2009, 10:32 pm EST

In 1977, in the suburbs, you couldn’t dress like a punk (like a rock & roller) w/out getting a snide remark, a threat, perhaps. However, in the early eighties, mohawks began sprouting at shopping malls, in movies. By the time Nirvana/Grunge hit leather didn’t mean much, period. But early Elvis (Presley) is timeless

Deanna | 5/10/2009, 11:53 pm EST

Ok ok so there are some good guys with good vocals this year, but nobody tops Adams range and all the emotion he puts into his songs and of course his stage presence….. he is a clear WINNER in my eyes!

Been around a long time ….. compose music myself and have admired many Major Artists in 50 plus years listening. I stand strong on my belief that Adam clearly should win American Idol this season. He is a Star unfolding before us all and clearly has the voice to take us to new places when listening to him sing and watching him perform. This is the first time for me that I downloaded songs by an Idol Contestant and I have 9 so far. Can’t wait to buy his first Album. The only hope I have is that Adam can be left to be Adam Lambert … to grow with his Dreams and not be led into a direction that holds back his Talents. Adam has a lot to offer as an Artist and he should be among the Best of the Best. :-) Good Luck Adam …… eX1

Adam is the reason we watch. He will – or, if not, should – win.

dlt | 5/11/2009, 8:03 am EST

I heard Adam’s gonna sing Smokestack Lightning. Or Have You Never Been Mellow?

dlt | 5/11/2009, 8:23 am EST

Mega Stool: the show
That rivals American Idol

Roxy | 5/11/2009, 11:08 am EST

Adam Lambert is the greatest!!!!!!
This is the first season that I have ever watched AI. Now I watch it to see Adam.

Jill | 5/11/2009, 11:20 am EST

My heart and my vote belongs to ADAM!!!!!!!

Judy | 5/11/2009, 3:15 pm EST

Vote for the person who has the best vocals, the best stage performance and keeps the audience enthralled, don’t judge or call them names or act like you know what you are talking about, everyone of these guys has talent, they all deserve respect for being able to show their talent the best way they know how, just because Adam has a beautiful voice and stage presence, you don’t need to bash him and call him names,I and so many thousand others know a star in the makingI give kudos to singers that show self-expression in their singing and performances, may the best man win as they will all go far!!!!!

jennifer toronto | 5/11/2009, 7:52 pm EST

I really hope Adam wins AI.He is by far the most talented singer out there.Week after week he has proved Yes he can sing different songs.

Chatty Cathy | 5/11/2009, 11:53 pm EST

Adam your talent will make you the next AI. Your talent is a gift from God. Looking forward to seeing your performance on the next show !!! The judges know what a super star you are going to be. Your voice is so amazing. You voice makes me feel happy and your handsome face is eye candy. Good Luck! You have already WON. The next American Idol. Adam Lambert!

ANGIE | 5/12/2009, 12:58 am EST

I can just “echo” all the above……ADAM will hopefully win! But he won’t unless WE all pick up that phone and vote for him. Like the rest of you, each week I can’t wait to hear Adam. He is the total package…….what a gifted talent!!
VOTE FOR ADAM!!

Cindi | 5/12/2009, 1:19 am EST

Ten years ago I heard a voice that stopped me in my tracks – it was Andrea Bocelli. When I first heard Adam it was the same thing – and then when you actually look at him and watch him perform – amazing. People can say what they want about him – he does know who he is and his confidence shines through. I am 57 and listening to him knocks a good 30 years off of how I feel! Go Adam!

dlt | 5/12/2009, 6:54 am EST

Yeah. You’re right. Adam’s like Jethro Bodean

Jean UK | 5/12/2009, 9:06 am EST

ADAM just must be in the final and win. Have watched AI for years but have never seen anyone come close to this guy. Will definitely buy his CD. GO ADAM GO

RAINE | 5/12/2009, 11:07 am EST

OMG ADAM all the way to WIN!! I am totally mesmerized by him.. This Amazing guy is so unpredictable, when you try to guess what he might do he totally surprises you every week.. All the others were and are predictable with the exception of Allison (my girl), when they sIng you say to yourself, yeah that was predictable.. With Adam you always just sit there with your jaw on the ground thinking “He was even better than the last week, how does he do that?”, every week he brings something new and fresh and current.. He is incredible and if he doesn’t win I will never watch AI again, because if he loses it won’t be that America voted on the most talented, it will be because people stereotyped and that is really really sad.. I LOVE YOU ADAM and I will vote until my fingers fall off because you truly deserve this WIN!! ROCK ON!!!

lisa | 5/12/2009, 11:19 am EST

ADAM is the TOTAL PACKAGE. I’m a 48
yo woman, have heard alot of talent over the years but NO one that can sing broadway, pop, rock with the
perfection and stage presence that Adam brings. This is “REAL TALENT”
like Elvis, Michael Jackson, etc. deserves all the success. Also, he is very easy to look at. My husband knows two nights a week belong to Adam. Can’t wait till tonight!!!!

lisa | 5/12/2009, 11:27 am EST

I watch the show ONLY to see Adam.
This talent is on the level of Elvis Michael Jackson etc. Cannot wait till
tonight to see Adam. After eight seasons AI has produced it’s first REAL TALENT. It was worth the wait !!

christina | 5/12/2009, 2:07 pm EST

Adam Lambert is a fearless genius! The most exciting contestant in the history of the show, the most worthy of the Idol title. If he doesn’t win this, there is something really wrong with our country. Please vote.

Helen | 5/12/2009, 3:47 pm EST

Gokey has my vote – Lambert is great, but I wouldn’t buy his records – I’d buy Gokey’s. But I really wanted Allison! :)

Helen | 5/12/2009, 3:52 pm EST

I believe Danny will be the winner. I’ve figured out the last three winners, so we’ll see if I got it this time. Allison had my vote – darn! I thought she was amazing on Cry Baby!!

:) | 5/12/2009, 6:23 pm EST

This show would have been NOTHING without Adam this season. His voice is amazing and the man knows how to put on a show. It would have been such a bore without him. Each week I tuned in to see what he would do and were he to be voted off..I would have been done watching for the season. Out of the last 3 standing Adam deserves to win the most. By far. Sure, Danny and Kris can sing well but not as well as Adam and they also can NOT put on a show like Adam can. I think Danny tries too hard…did you guys watch his duet with Kris? It’s OBVIOUS he was trying to OUT SING Kris. That’s not what a duet is all about. Adam and Allison did it right. As for Kris. He can sing and he seems very sweet but he is boring.

carmen nobili | 5/12/2009, 8:05 pm EST

Dear Adam, you are absolutely marvelous, and I hop you win this competition; Icompletely agree with all coments up about your goods performances!GO ON my friend!Good luck!
Carmen, from Brasil

Anonymous | 5/12/2009, 10:38 pm EST

I’ve known for weeks now that Adam will win Idol. Why? Because the judges keep praising him as if he were perfect. Do I think the guy has talent? Sure, but he needs to tone down the screeching in every single song. They all start sounding like theatre production numbers after awhile. Would I buy an Adam record? Probably not, but I might check him out in a Broadway play.

Marvin | 5/12/2009, 10:46 pm EST

Adam will definitely win. He will be this season’s Taylor Hicks, winning it big.

But I doubt if he’ll be as successful as Matt Giraud or Kris Allen as I believe these two has the most potential for being a great recording artist. (Think Taylor Hicks and Chris Daughtry) Listen to their iTunes versions if you don’t believe me.

I can see Adam winning a Tony someday or being an actor. I think he will be perfect in the Twilight Series :)

exiler | 5/13/2009, 12:50 am EST

sorry everyone, but Adam gives me a headache. The first song was ok, but the last one….. ahhhh… My roomate wanted me to mute it. He seems like a great guy, but no more screaming.

Adam Fan | 5/13/2009, 10:31 am EST

I hope that Adam wins this thing. I am not saying that the other two guys do not deserve anything but just looking at the consistency of Adam throughout this season 8 he is the better choice. He can sing anything. I believe that is what the record labels are looking for who can make them the most money.

eX1 | 5/13/2009, 11:04 am EST

I believe Adam is the Best Artist/Performer since the AI show began. He has the most potential to be a Huge Star and Deserves to WIN
American Idol Season 8. Good Luck Adam …..

jennifer toronto | 5/13/2009, 11:50 am EST

Well i watched AI last night and heard Adam sing.I love Adam he is the best thing to happen to Idol.
Without him it would be boring yawn.
I love u2 so much and when he sang One i was a little nervouse i love that song, im surprised simon chose that song for him. When he sang it i felt he could have done a better job i love adam but it may not be enough forhim to wiN.Kris was good all american boy and danny got to go… bye bye so annoying.I was surprised Adam sang crying from Aerosmith i dont like Aerosmith and i felt like he was yelling a little bit .Or his heart wasnt in to it call me crazy.Just a feeling i got.
I hope he wins but kris was good last night and danny sucked!
I will watch tonight and keep my fingers crossed Adam will be a star no matter what happens he is the most talented to appear on AI dol wish him luck!
Go Adam jennifer loves you from torontox

Banks Woman | 5/13/2009, 12:38 pm EST

Do you seriously think for an instant that Simon would have chosen Adam for any other reason than that he believes Adam is the obvious frontrunner to win? And how is he to work with? And what can he do when he is put to the test? Simon and Adam worked out the arrangement together; he chose a great song…come on. Time to think about it, folks. These judges are talent scouts. They have identified a talent in Adam that doesn’t come along often. Danny and Kris are karaoke grade — I hear people like them all the time at karaoke shows! Adam has star power and the judges have to appear to be unbiased, but obviously Simon’s message about VOTING was done very intentionally.

smitty | 5/13/2009, 4:48 pm EST

Sorry Penny and Exiler but Adam is the grestest ever and he will be or should I say he better be the next American Idol or something is seriously wrong. H emay scream alot but I rather listen to him sing over Kris and Danny. It will be Kris and Adam and then Adam will win. I wish Adam would sin We Are The Champion because he would rock that song something Kris and D

Sorry but Penny and Exiler you are wrong and Adam will and should win. If not there is something very seriously wrong. Adam rocks and I could listen to him all night. Even when he screams he is 100 times better then Kris and Danny. I wish Adam would sing We are the Champion because he would rock something Kris and Danny could never do. Have you notice how Kris and Danny try to sound like Adam because they know he is the best. Kris and Danny are good in their own ways are are just want a be Adam. Kris and Danny have their on and off nights but Adam has rocked right from the beginning. If Adam is kick off tonight I will not watch the finale. Goooooooo Adam

Santana | 5/13/2009, 8:55 pm EST

Kris: He’s like every other contestant I have seen. A pretty boy with a decent voice. But, that Adam. His eyes are more than what most “pretty boys” have. They speak to you, and that’s only the first part. His voice makes me squeal and smile. At the end of his ‘One’ performance on May 12, 2009 made me… I don’t know! I was panting and swooning. I didn’t know what to think. And his second performace made me jump up and dance. The high notes he does can’t help but to make me feel happy. I hope he wins, but if he doesn’t, I hope he’ll be the next Chris Daughtry. :)

Santana | 5/13/2009, 8:57 pm EST

EDIT;
If he loses, he’ll probably become better than Chris. ;)

adam'swiffee | 5/14/2009, 8:00 am EST

i think all of you are wrong. because adam is definetly goin’ to win, AI!!!! there’s no doubt about it right???

Michelle | 5/14/2009, 8:52 am EST

Gokey is gone.. i think that was a big mistake, well it just helps adam out because he has to run against kris.. Kris sang a song by Kayne West and it saved him. On the other hand Adam can sing anything and i know a lot of people don’t like the whole screamo rock but.. he can also sing anything else.. When it all comes down even if Adam loses he will have the most success, kriss reminds me of a whiny boy that sings in simple plan and i don’t know why some of you complain about adam’s scream. Adam is very talented and has amazing vocals, Adam deserves to win American Idol 2009 and if he doesn’t that will be a huge downfall for american idol seeing how he is known to be the most talented ever in the show.

I agree with you Michelle
GOOO ADAM.

Adam All The Way | 5/14/2009, 10:05 am EST

Adam has always been the best candidate. His talent is unique and his singing is perfection. He could be a legend. I will be sick if he loses simply because most of the voting public doesn’t understand his avant garde appearance. GO ADAM!!!

snoody | 5/14/2009, 10:57 am EST

Adam Lambert is the next American Idol!!!!!!!!!!!!! Kris is cute, boy next door type but does not hold a candle to Lambert as far as talent goes. I am so glad that Gokey is gone. He comes off as smug and arrogant……he needs to
polish his social skills.

Banks Woman | 5/14/2009, 12:18 pm EST

Now if entertainment is the goal here, of course Adam will win. He is spot-on #1 entertainer. Imagine 2 hours of Kris singing? Who needs a sleep aid? Seriously, in all probability Kris ended up being one of the finalists for the same reason Adam ended up in the bottom 3 once – in his case, people were trying to save Alison. In Gokey’s case, everyone thought he was safe so they voted for Kris, forgetting of course about the legions of Adam fans. This is about ENTERTAINMENT, not personality or dress style. Consider this: 2 hours of Jewel singing (who, by the way, is an incredibly greater performer) or Pink? or Gwen Stefani? or Lady Gaga? How badly do you want to be entertained people? Consider this: 2 hours of Michael Buble (again, a great singer) or Steven Tyler? Mick Jagger? Cold Play’s lead singer? Hopefully America will get smart and realize that Adam has IT….that thing that makes you sit up and take notice and keeps you totally rapt by his talent.

Man, I hope there’s enough music sophisticates in this country that vote next week. BTW, little girlies, Kris is a married dude…put your fantasies to beddy bye and get ready for school.

rachel | 5/14/2009, 2:49 pm EST

Wow….big shocker that Danny was voted off last night! It should’ve been he and Kris in the finals. Vote for Kris!! We need to get scream-o boy out of there!! Talk about smug and cocky?? That would be Adam!!

Gheira | 5/14/2009, 3:27 pm EST

Cris is incredible in his own ways, and he got talent. Althought, he is not consistent every week. Danny is good also but not that great.

Adam is my favorite. He is truly an artist. Danny and Cris are talented but not in artistic ways. They just put Adam in the bottom two because they are trying to make a buzz about it.

Both Cris and Adam are talented. Question is, who has a star quality? I think you know the answer.

Gheira | 5/14/2009, 4:01 pm EST

Did you see Katy Perry performance last night? She even wants Adam to win. True artist can detect true artist. Probably a lot of famous singers and artist in Hollywood thinks Adams possesed great artist quality.

Banks Woman | 5/14/2009, 4:51 pm EST

Oh Rachel…come on. There isn’t a cocky bone in Adam’s body – he doesn’t NEED one. His talent is amazing…and yes, other stars recognize it, as does Simon. Did you see who Simon chose to work with when it was judge’s choice? Simon has been responsible for many great artists’ discovery. Relax…your milquetoast boy Kris will probably put out an album of sleepy-time lullabies and you can buy it and listen to it over and over again, until you’re all fast asleep.

Get I Life People | 5/15/2009, 12:28 am EST

OMG it is so funny to me that people get this heated over a reality show competition. Adam is a very talented guy and can really sing those high notes well, he has amazing control and breath too. Kris is a very talented guy with amazing artistry and heart, and it takes real guts to sing in that venue with just your guitar. Why do people have to dis one to like the other? I personally would much rather listen to a Kris Allen album than an Adam Lambert one, but that is mostly because I like the softer side of rock. Though if I was in the mood for true rock I would probably be much more likely to buy a ticket to an Adam Lambert concert, I’m sure it would be quite a show. I do tend to think that in terms of listenablity that Kris’s voice would be one I could listen to over and over again, whereas Adam’s voice, though amazing, would get tiring or grating to hear over and over(I for one couldn’t listen to Aerosmith or The Stones over and over either, too much high pitched voices give me a headache). But again people this is just MY opinion and not right or wrong just an opinion! I think that whoever wins will truly deserve it because both are very talented.

Banks Woman | 5/15/2009, 2:05 am EST

Hey, nice article on Glambert in RS this week. Thanks guys!

luann | 5/16/2009, 12:51 am EST

No I don’t think Adam will win. He is talented, but the teeny boppers just don’t understand his rock opera genre. Maybe if you are 35- 60 years….you can really understand it. He will do very well even if he doesn’t win the title.

Kris Allen will win, because not only can he sing, he can play muliple of musical instruments, guitar and piano. He is cute, humble, and the underdog in this competition. He also can sing all genre of music unlike Adam who always in each and every song goes back to Rock Opera style.

So Wednesday..the star and the winner will be Kris. Kris will take the idol win far. Adam will do great too. They will both be stars.

Hollywood judges want Adam to win, but Hollywood is so fake…..Americans want a real geniune idol these days. America wants KRIS ALLEN.

Joy | 5/16/2009, 9:17 am EST

I think Kris is talented but not marketable enough. He is cute like David Archuleta. But I don’t think he will sell CDs as much as Adam Lambert.

I wished its Danny and Adam.

My Danny votes will go to Adam!

Mario H | 5/16/2009, 9:21 am EST

Kris does well with acoustic stuff, then thats pretty much it.

Adam can practically DO ANYTHING!

I think Adam will win. AI producers learned that lesson after the Ruben and Clay match. Clay eventually sold more albums than ruben! They know they’ll get more $$ if Adam wins.

Sunshinee | 5/16/2009, 11:25 am EST

Personally, I’m not a fan of either of them.

Everytime I watch Adam i feel that i’m in a sick and twisted Kiss concert. A really crappy Kiss Concert…

Kris, just isn’t memorable. The only song I ever remember Kris pulling off would be the Kanye west song…

I feel this season is ending very very crappy….

Phillip Atlanta | 5/16/2009, 1:28 pm EST

Someone Pointed out that Adam will do well weather he wins or not… Take this in cosideration for a moment Obviously He wants this very much that shows from his performances every week he is front and center….. So YEs Let us become “ONE “and make this Dream come true for one of the Most Talented Souls that has come along in a very very long time.
I am betting Elvis Presley would be very proud of this young man if he was here with us today…..
Lets make this happen…..
Phillip In Atalnta

Banks Woman | 5/16/2009, 3:14 pm EST

Luann: Yah, Hollyweird is fake, but we’re talking the music industry here, not Hollywood. In case you haven’t figured, the music industry is NOT in Hollywood anymore.

The producers know IT … Adam has IT…Kris does NOT have IT. Cutesy, puppy eyes talented Kris is the fantasy of all the little tweenies in this country. You’re right, those tweenies don’t understand megastar – too much for their little immature music brains to contemplate.

Instruments? Well if it was a contest as to who was the best pianist, Matt would have won…and the blind dude was a great pianist, too. It isn’t about instruments, it’s about STAR POWER. Whereas Kris is the kiddy’s merry-go-round, Adam is the giant rollercoaster – get in and hang on. It’s gonna be a ride. Adam is my choice and the choice of every other musician I have spoken with about this competition – musicians know Adam’s talent is one-in-a-million. No decision here.

Kt | 5/16/2009, 4:12 pm EST

Adam has shown how talented he is since his AI audition. Every performance has been consistently excellent (except that back up singer at the performance of Crying…studio version still excellent). Consistently brilliant, seems like he is entitled to win.

erin | 5/16/2009, 9:00 pm EST

Adam is the epitome of a true entertainer. He has a way with him which pleases a lot of people. He may also illicit a strong negative response from other people who cannot appreciate his talent. But that’s just Adam, love him or hate him, but I’m sure you’ll never be indifferent to him. I do hope he wins. Even if just to show we Americans recognize talent when it hits them on the face.

CLM | 5/17/2009, 3:51 pm EST

Adam Lambert is the winner! Kris is just not a star type. Kris is boring, hardly can sing and his following is average age of 9! Adam is a performer and well deserving. Many of us have only watched Idol waiting for Gokey and Anoop to get booted because they were ridiculous and to watch Adam clean house! Go Adam!!!

Leila | 5/17/2009, 6:41 pm EST

Adam Lambert is A.I.’s greatest performer of all time! If he doesn’t win, it will show how this country works: he’s a little different, therefore he is a freak. The kids who vote for Kris are the ones who are still brainwashed by Hannah Montana and the Jonas Brothers. To kids like me who are considered “indies” by their fellow classmates, Adam is a sign that there’s still hope out there. If I’m not even in high-school and can figure this all out, why doesn’t everyone else get it ?

Sam | 5/17/2009, 6:46 pm EST

All you Adam fans: Just remember, he does not have it in the bag. I live in a fairly conervative area, and I know there are lots of people out there who can’t stand him, and think that Kris is the cat’s meow. If Adam really scores on Tuesday, and you want him to win, REMEMBER TO VOTE, AND VOTE AS OFTEN AS YOU CAN!

Caroline Kaplan | 5/17/2009, 7:29 pm EST

***ALERT to all Adam fans**** If you care AT ALL about Adam having a FAIR shot at the title this year, you should all be aware of the desperation that is going on amidst Kris Allen fans, sparking a whole big plan to CHEAT. They know Kris can’t possibly win based on the normal voting system, with people using their phones to call and text, therefore they have launched “Operation Ding Dong” on krisallennation.com, which is a way of using their computers as rapid-fire-telephones to pledge however many THOUSANDS of votes per person that any voter wants. To quote the site, “The official voting window for this week will be 4 hours, and with the use of Gizmo, we can all extend that to 7 hours.  I know that sounds ridiculous, but that’s what its going to take to win.  So, prepare yourself, have food ready, have entertainment ready so that the time moves faster.” And even more alarming, “As we have done in the past, please pledge the number of votes you will be willing to give to Kris this week.  Ideally, you should try to double or even triple the amount you have given in past weeks.  Encourage your friends and family to come and vote.  My wife and I will start it off –  together, we pledge at least 10,000 votes to Kris.” So guys, since Kris fans are cheating to get him to win, how about we level the playing field and make this competition fair? Lets use their own methods. Go to krisallenation.com, follow the instructions and vote for ADAM the way Kris fans are voting for Kris. They are both very talented and they BOTH deserve a fair voting process, don’t you think?

Banks Woman | 5/18/2009, 3:04 am EST

Got an idea – let’s say “one person, one vote” and see what happens. Those on the krisallennation bandwagon of illicit voting, remember, the guy is a worship leader and missionary. Surely it is not HIS idea to use deceptive means to win…or maybe it is?

Banks Woman | 5/18/2009, 11:39 am EST

A very public campaign to have Kris Allen call off his dialing dogs would be appropriate at this time. Or have Idol institute the one vote/one person deal. Let’s make it truly the peoples’ choice.

Get I Life People | 5/18/2009, 11:41 pm EST

I believe that American Idol already institutes a third party watch dog group that cuts multiple votes from one source. So those that vote over the allotted number of times are just wasting their time.

ToneDeaf | 5/19/2009, 2:09 am EST

All of the Adam lovers must be tone deaf. The guy sings the same screech each night for weeks – regardless of the theme – and the judges praise him for being original. There is nothing original about any of his renditions. Kris on the other hand has shown growth and talent (guitar, piano, and voice).

Banks Woman | 5/19/2009, 12:37 pm EST

Tonedeaf: If you are truly tone deaf I would understand your comment, because you would not have heard Adam do incredibly emotional versions of songs like Mad World….truly a fantastic moment in Idol history…particularly when Simon gives him an ovation. Get over the whole ’screaming’ thing already, Kris lovers – range is something that handicaps a lot of singers – their anatomy just doesn’t allow them to get up in the high register (with chest voice, mind you, not a weak head voice or falsetto, though he certainly has an incredibly beautiful and soft falsetto when it’s called for) and down into the bottom range with equally as much strength and intensity.

This whole competition has gotten ugly in the Kris camp – prejudiced good Christian/missionary types who have resorted to off-color comments about gender preference, etc. Frankly, when I want to be entertained, it is the entertainer with the talent who gets my ticket money. One song (the Kanye number, the arrangement of which was apparently dead-on taken from another artist) does not a performer make. zzzz….zzzz…..zzzzz…..

I guess tonight will be the defining moment. I have heard they’ll each sing 3 songs. I know my boy has done his homework and will absolutely blow everyone out of the water…and you just KNOW he’s been reading blogs and listening to the pros – so I’d say we’ll hear a little less of the upper register that seems to rile the simple masses….and lots of great emotion (without the facial contortions).

Latana | 5/19/2009, 12:52 pm EST

This will be an excitin year for Kris, if he wins
and of course when he and his wife have their first baby at Chrismas time.

Mrs. Adam Lambert | 5/19/2009, 1:40 pm EST

Tonedeaf, your name suits you. You have to get a music lesson. You have no ideas what the heck you are talking about.

Picture this. Kris is like Britney Spears, the only difference is he plays piano and guitar. No matter how Brinet dotors her music, she is still Britney Spears; she cannot sing.

Banks Woman | 5/19/2009, 1:58 pm EST

Be interesting how little Mrs. Kris will manage with a new baby and cutie-pie hubby gone all the time, with all the little girls throwing their thongs at him. Of COURSE they’re going to have a baby…geesh.

eX1 | 5/19/2009, 7:30 pm EST

Tonight is the night folks to make the decision between Adam and Chris. And if you have time, do a bit of research on Adam and you will clearly see why he is a much better choice to become not only the Next American Idol but the Best Idol since this show began. I was blown away with what I found. Chris will have a nice career ahead of him but Adam will prove to us through time he belongs with the Greatest Rock Stars ever.
There is no doubt in my mind that Adam has the stuff it takes to be a Super Star…… One last thought about those bent on his so called screaming …. LOL If you download Adams Studio Versions of say ” A Whole Lotta Love ” I guarantee you will Love the Song as a Complete Song among others. I have downloaded 9 songs already and have really enjoyed listening to this guy sing. It is rare nowadays that I want to listen to anything more than twice in a row but Adams stuff has been a pleasure to hear over and over again.
My Favorites are: RING of FIRE – MAD WORLD – TRACKS of MY TEARS – ONE and WHOLE LOTTA LOVE …… AWESOME STUFF! One day last week I was playing Adams Music in my Truck in my driveway and My Neighbor came over and asked who was singing these songs ….. I replied ADAM LAMBERT from A I ….. She then said Wow! That guy sounds AWESOME!!!
I rest my case ….. a Super Star waiting to begin :-) Vote for Adam ….. I sure have been

Heather | 5/20/2009, 9:46 am EST

Of course Adam is going to win. The show is rigged. It dosen’t matter how many times you vote, the producers of the show are going to have Adam win. You can tell the way the judges have been bulding him up over the last three months. It’s sickening to me that there allowed to be so unfair. Adam dosen’t belong on american idol, he has been on broadway. He’s been in the broadway show Wicked. I thought makeing it to broadway was big time. He shouldn’t have even been allowed to be on the show. Kris needs to win. He was the type of person that Ameriacn idol was created for .

Banks Woman | 5/20/2009, 10:36 am EST

I find it fascinating that many people feel the judges’ motivation for apparently “choosing” Adam has anything to do with anything but talent and everything to do with some sort of perceived ‘favoritism.’ Fact is, those people have recognized talent – that is what they do for a living. They don’t love Adam, they love his talent. See, there’s the difference. This has become one of the ugliest personality contests in the world – with the right wing religious group going ga-ga over Kris and the progressive, musically sophisticated group going with Adam. If a singer/performer doesn’t cause some sort of intrinsic reaction in your, they’re not doing their job. Kris has yet to cause me to feel ANYTHING at all while he performs. Adam sings his first note, he becomes the song, he grabs you and doesn’t let you go until the song is over and he again becomes Adam.

The judges haven’t rammed him down our throats – this notion is some sort of group naievete on the part of the ‘krisallennation’ (take a look at that, btw).

It’s been decided, we’ll see tonight if the tweenies sob and fall on the floor with disappointment, or if the plug is pulled on AI when America again has made the wrong choice. If the show is in danger of survival, then the wrong choice will make it a fait accompli.

coffeup | 5/20/2009, 11:51 am EST

Winning or losing this competition is irrelevant people. Here are the important questions. You under thirties are what I call generation null. Our society has told you when you come of age there will be nothing left for you. No jobs, no food, no Social Security, no homes – nothing. You have all complained and rightly so. You parents, your government, your schools, banks and more have all failed you. Here in this small way, American Idol, you have a chance to make a cultural statement. You’ve all shaken your fists and said I will not be as my parents before me. Here I turn to this site and find so many of you chosen the safe, plain as paper Kris to hitch your ride to. Adam made a statement about modernity and change every time he opened his mouth. Instead, so many of you have consciously and subconsciously chosen to mouth the words of the moral cultural fascists that have to this point claimed this country as its own, and driven us to point of bankruptcy; bankruptcy of spirit, culture, of all things that can make this country a world beacon. A country of diversity and inclusion. Kris is a good kid, but you’ve made him a representative of all that dirty skin we should slough off. How can you all be so comfortable with that. Look in the mirror kids, you’ve become you parents.

Amy | 5/20/2009, 11:54 am EST

Ever since I stumbled across ‘American Idol’ auditions here in Britain, I have completely obsessed with the show and it’s all down to Adam Lambert. He is a star beyond this competition, he is a true musician; he is different, dazzling and so original no other contestant should be able to stand with him on that stage. I cannot begin to describe how much I love, value and cherish seeing him perform every week and it will be unfortunate to not be able to carry on this weekly ritual after the finale tonight in America (also it’s unfortunate we do not get to see it until Friday) I happen to watch a number of these shows mainly The X Factor and Britain’s Got Talent but I have never felt these strongly about a contestant so far. I just wanted to write this now that the competition is nearly over how much I have enjoyed and indeed my whole family, Adam’s fantastically original, different and humble persona. I hope Adam Lambert never changes and keeps on ROCKING which is what I LOVE and what he does best.

flowerchild | 5/20/2009, 12:05 pm EST

I have watched American Idol every season, this year has been the best ever,Adam Lambert should win no matter of his sexual preferance, his voice is pure gold, and if the votes are for the best singer he should win,as far as his screaming have you listened to some of the greatest screamers of all rock times, areosmith ozzy, cone on give the guy a break.VOTE FOR ADAM

Adam Fan | 5/20/2009, 1:57 pm EST

Adam should win.
It does not matter if he has past experience in music. It does not matter if he cross dresses. It does not matter if he is gay. All those thing are irrelevant.
Adam is a great performer and like Paula said he will be an icon. He is very unforgetable.
Watch and see wheather he wins or loses he will be has big as Mick Jaggar, Steven Tyler and all the great performers.
Kris on the other hand is just another pretty boy. We have enough of those. He is very forgetable.

yankeeangel | 5/20/2009, 2:57 pm EST

I agree 100% Adam is Iconic. He just has that rockstar thing going on for him.

Banks Woman | 5/20/2009, 3:05 pm EST

Thanks coffeeup…my thoughts precisely…

Imagine a world full of Buble, Harry Connick, Josh Groban, Jamie Cullum, and Kris Allen…but devoid of Steven Tyler, Mick Jagger, Robert Plante, Geddy Lee, and Adam Lambert.

Oh, I dunna know…what would be more interesting? What would be more stimulating? What would get your blood flowing and the endorphins shooting off like 50 caliber bullets out of your system?

Banks Woman | 5/20/2009, 3:08 pm EST

to Amy in Britain: I LOVE that you appreciate Adam’s talent so much. I, like you, feel that he is what is going to make a change in this insipid music world starting now. Even if the starry-eyed tweenies have succeeded in jacking the phone lines with a gazillion calls and texts, and Kris “Milquetoast” Allen wins, Adam will shoot to the stars and beyond many, many times. I will miss my Tuesday night Adam fix but will make sure I have video taht I can watch over and over and over again. I am a lead singer as is my husband, and Adam is one inspirational singer. If I can take one of his special attributes with me every time I hit center stage, I’ll be a better performer for it.

nan | 5/20/2009, 3:30 pm EST

Truth is the judges don’t know squat…they wanted Bo Bice over Carrie Underwood…Where is Bo today…his cd is being sold at flea markets for 99 cents I’m sure. America does a much better job picking the Idol Champ. We knw what we like…pretty much the winner is a mainstream, clean-cut, nice, decent person with a melodic voice that has wide appeal. Yes Adam has talent but it is an edgier talent that most of Amerioca isn’t really that interested in. He is no Elvis… one can just feel that Adam wants to go to the cutting edge at every turn… it’s called the cutting edge because most people aren’t there and don’t want to be there. I wish them both well…they will both succeed but I must believe Kris is the winner.

Mrs. Lambert | 5/20/2009, 3:47 pm EST

ADAM for the WIN!!!!

The Mad World he performed last night was kind of off for me. Other than that, I am here for him.

Kris’ “ain’t no sunshine” was amazing. That is the only song I like of all his songs.

GO ADAM! GO MY HUSBAND!! HAHAHA

Cici | 5/20/2009, 4:10 pm EST

Allow me to address those of you who believe right wingers are all going for Kris…..well, darlins!….that’s a myth only made up to try and make right wingers look bad….been going on for decades and decades. Truth be told, I am a Right Winger and guess what? I am Crazy about Adam. I can’t get enough of that guy! AND! My Right Wing family and friends who watch American Idol are All going for Adam….not dismissing Kris but our vote are based on who has the most talent and that is Adam. So! Don’t be too quick to judge….got it? I love studying Adam…..have you all noticed when he sings a rock song and looks to have that devilish evil look in his eyes during the performance but when it ends, that little boy look and grin of his is smack dab back on his face….it cracks me up! He’s not only an impeccable singer but What an actor. He has my complete respect and awe. How about that? There you go…..I believe in God, I believe in Christ, I am a stay at home mom, I vote Republican, I believe in the sanctity of marriage, I didn’t abort my child with Down’s Syndrome but instead celebrate his uniqueness, I have a son who serves in the Army and am proud of him. AND! I am crazy crazy for Adam…..so much so I dialed in my votes most of last night. Adam, you are my winner…win or lose. You have me in the palm of your hand and I am so looking forward to your future and career. Please please please, keep that cute sweet look and grin and kindness I see in you now. It will be interesting if this site publishes my post…hope you do.

Isabella | 5/20/2009, 8:44 pm EST

I don’t know who will win but i have a feeling it will be Adam because of what the judges have said about him.

Isabella | 5/20/2009, 8:51 pm EST

I love Kris’s voice but i can’t really pick one there both really great singers Adam and Kris have some thing in common there both rock n roll people i think so well till i post another ROCK OUT!!!

Cici | 5/20/2009, 11:16 pm EST

Wow…..well…..Adam, you are Still my winner. Congrats, Kris….you are a nice guy and I appreciate what you said tonight…very nice of you and I believe you meant it. Adam! Can’t wait to buy your music, see you perform and watch your family glow. Adam! Adam! Adam! I just love your talent. :-)

ex1 | 5/21/2009, 2:05 am EST

No worries Adam Fans …. just wait and see who emerges as a Super Star in the years ahead. Yes Adam will surpass Kris in the long run ….. why?
Because he is a Better Performer – Singer and Creative Artist…. The ingredients needed to be a Super Star and Adam has it all by far ….. Now off to Download the last of Adams songs from itunes The only Artist I have ever downloaded songs by from A I

Leanne Kean | 5/21/2009, 9:20 am EST

SHAME ON YOU, AMERICA! Adam Lambert was robbed! Now I know why I’ve always HATED this pathetic show. They are not out to find REAL talent, but in fact to cater to the texts of teeny bopper female hormones and the pathetic redials of the (silent) homophobes. Are you listening EliSabeth Hasselback?

Adam Lambert is a once-in-a-lifetime find! Kris (whoever) has no more talent than your average coffeehouse singer.

rachel | 5/21/2009, 4:18 pm EST

Yeah for Kris!!! He was the most deserving of this title for sure! I am very pleased wtih the results and feel that even though I didn’t care for Adam, he will have some type of music career. He, to me, seems more like a broadway star than an artist you would hear on the radio.

eX1 | 5/22/2009, 12:47 am EST

ADAM FANS …… You must D O W N L O A D …..

MALBERRY | 5/22/2009, 5:13 pm EST

HEY YAL

Lisa | 5/23/2009, 10:02 am EST

Kris Allen, American Idol? My rear end.

Kris Allen, the best undiscovered talent in America? I will hope that my dog is discovered as a singing talent soon then.

Kris Allen a deserved winner? Of the biggest joke of a result in talent show history, yes.

I hope the “Arkansas Idol” enjoys his fifteen minutes of fame. American Idol he is not. Singing or performing talent even less so.

He is no better than most of the others in the top 13 or that many other contestants who have not had a sniff of the final.

Don’t blame teenage girls. I am a teenage girl and I neither find Kris good looking or anything good at all. The only thing duller than his voice is his personality and the only thing blander than his music are his looks.

Oli the Brit | 5/24/2009, 4:08 pm EST

Ok to start off, yeah i am from the UK and was already pissed off that i couldn’t vote, and what amazed me is the amount of tone deaf trailer park rejects who voted for Kris to win, WERE YOU WATCHING THE SAME SHOW or misdialed your local Pizza place. Adam should have won by a land slide and with over 100 million votes recorded, how the hell did Kris “No personality” Allen take the title. Kara’s song sucked but Adam made it sound the best it could. Not voting for someone just because he wears make-up or tight jeans instead of basing your choice on him talent leaves me wondering how you got it right last year with David Cooke. Kris is just a string picking, key pressing Average singer, i have seen better quality Busking on the London Underground, the only decent thing that came out of Kris’ mouth was when he said Adam should have won

True Adam fans, the ones who voted that is, you got it right from the beginning

?????????????????????????????? | 5/24/2009, 10:12 pm EST

Danny Gokey is da best!I wish he could of won!He deserved it wayy more than Adam or Kris!Especially Adam ! Adam should have been 3rd Kris 2nd and Danny 1st!

Devis | 5/25/2009, 4:57 am EST

I honestly miss watching Adam perform every week. his eccentric style and daring performance were a must-watch for me every week. Now I don’t think I’ll want to watch AI anymore for I have a sneaky feling nobody will be able to top Adam. Even if I do watch, I’m going to root for the contestant with the best moral and good looks who complies to the Americans’ taste. At least, it’ll save me some heartache during the results. All Adam fans, support Adam’s music on Itunes. Can’t wait for his album and world tour.Rock on Adam! – InternationalFan

Kt | 5/25/2009, 1:29 pm EST

I am reading posts about Adam because I am going through Adam withdrawal. I am addicted to Adam and I do not want a cure. I am outraged that my ability to vote for Adam was taken from me. I voted by redialing like a crazy person for 4 hours, but the first 3 hours I got busy signals and the last hour I connected 10 times. Others in my area (midwest)also got 3 hours of busy signals trying to vote for Adam. I am not so sure that the voting system was legitimate.

Carrie | 5/25/2009, 4:50 pm EST

Adam was the WINNER hands down. I will NEVER watch that ridiculous show again. Kris will be playing state fairs while Adam will be selling out packed performances in cities like LA, Chicago, Atlanta, etc!

Carrie | 5/25/2009, 4:52 pm EST

Finale night, I too voted 4 hours for Adam and lines were busy and I only got through 20-30 times total. Their voting system is very flawed and that is why the true winner was not chosen (Adam)

Jojo | 5/25/2009, 7:57 pm EST

The greatest challenge for Kris is to prove that he deserves to be the winner of AI.

Allenmom | 5/29/2009, 5:45 pm EST

I like Kris Allen ok, (I actually have a daughter with the exact same name)but I LOVE Adam!!! I don’t care if he’s gay; he’s beautiful with a beautiful voice. He definitely should have won. There was no one else who even came close to him in talent or looks. I can’t get that Mad World song out of my head!

Dana Martin | 5/30/2009, 6:50 pm EST

ADAM LAMBERT WAS AND IS THE MOST TALENTED OF THE WHOLE BUNCH; STAGE PRESENCE, LOOKS, TALENT, EVERYTHING. AMERICA ALWAYS GOES FOR THE SAFE ONE.

Nicholas Kevin | 6/8/2009, 1:09 am EST

I’m glad to know that Adam is really a sweet guy, as his fellow Idol contestants admitted
Even Lil ask his suggestion for song choice!

emilyyyyyy | 6/8/2009, 4:55 pm EST

honestly this is the second year in a row where i am completely un satisfied with the results. in my opinion adam lambert has so much more talent than kris does. i mean everytime he sings he blows your mind away! i didnt even know who kris was until he was in the top 10. kris didnt stick out like adam did and i bet people will remember adam a lot more than kris because adam is more origanal. kris sounds like every other boy singer out there now a days. im happy queen was asking adam to have a contract with them or whatever it was. dont get me wrong kris is good and all but i just dont connect with his singing.

!!!!!!!!!!!! | 6/10/2009, 8:31 am EST

Adam was the best singer in the American Idol History For me that is!!! Also the hottest!!!

terie D. | 6/27/2009, 6:53 pm EST

WHO is this “dlt” who keeps throwing in unintelligible & inane comments on this thread??????? WHAT??????

terie D. | 6/27/2009, 7:03 pm EST

Has anyone noticed? For every Adam SLAM there are “TEN” I LOVE ADAM comments!!!!!

Fan At 48 | 6/30/2009, 12:15 am EST

I was a HUGE FAN of Adam Lambert from the first time he opened his mouth to sing. I called my 17 year old son in the room to see Adam perform Black & White and told him that Adam was MY choice for American Idol (that was either week one or week two). I watched the other singers perform too; but, when Adam came on, I wasn’t doing anything else but listening intently. He has REAL Star Power and will be up there with the BEST of them! I was really sad that Adam didn’t win A.I. — but, mark my words, Adam’s name will be spoken in the same sentence as Elvis, Aerosmith, The Rolling Stones and Michael Jackson!!! He will be a HUGE Star — I don’t care how old I am when he goes on tour for the first time (I’m 48 now), I’ll be in line waiting for tickets. Love ya Adam — and, good luck to Kris Allen too!
