What has come of us when we, as a society, “get off” on seeing a beautiful young woman tossed around and abused like she is just a toy? How deeply unconscious are we to not only view this type of treatment towards a woman as not only legal, but also entertaining?

The question that Daniel Kreps poses at the end of the article in the magazine is a very valid one to ask. Neither Ms. Grey nor the hypothetical young woman in the frat house are safe. If we choose to treat women like sex dolls, then we will never understand what sexuality, love and intimacy is truly about. Even worse, we will continue to lead women, like Ms. Grey, to believe that this type of abuse, violence and dehumanization is a form of “pleasure” and “love”.
