Creed Reunite, Fans React: The Response to Stapp’s “Rebirth”

4/29/09, 11:43 am EST

Creed were one of the most talked-about bands of the ’90s — beloved by devotees drawn to their bombastic anthems, loathed by listeners who dubbed them a third-rate Pearl Jam. The Grammy winners from Florida sold 25 million copies of their three studio albums (My Own Prison, Human Clay and Weathered) before bitterly splitting in June 2004, when guitarist Mark Tremonti, bassist Brian Marshall and drummer Scott Phillips joined singer-guitarist Myles Kennedy as Alter Bridge. And now that the band has announced its reunion — which frontman Scott Stapp called “a renewing and a rebirth” when he spoke with Rolling Stone — fans are speaking out in droves.

(The ’90s are back! Look at who’s reuniting and returning here.)

Our story on the reunion currently has 200-plus comments from Creed fans and foes psyched at the prospect of seeing “Higher” live again, Alter Bridge supporters freaked about the future of that band, and of course distraught Creed critics and readers suggesting other reunions they’d rather see. Here’s a survey of the best:

(Check out our collection of Creed photos.)

Dude Man defends Creed’s chart record:
“You know what, I’m going to say it. Creed were awesome. Everyone loves to make fun of them (even this magazine, who by the way put them on the cover once), but they have sold millions of albums, influenced a lot of today’s bands, and still get radio play. Yes we all know Scott had more problems than Chris Brown, but he was a great singer. And for all the people who call them a Pearl Jam rip-off are sadly mistaken, every band has influences, early STP is similar to Pearl Jam but not the same. I love both STP and Creed and neither are rip-offs.”

Bud, one of many concerned Alter Bridge fans:
“This is a major bummer… What about all those interviews Tremonti, Phillips, and Marshall gave when Creed broke up? Tremonti said a reunion would be like getting a bunch of Vietnam vets back together. Marshall said he never really liked Stapp, they just got along for the band. I grew up on Creed but when they split it was a good choice. They were sick of each other and America was sick of Stapp. AB’s music is so much more technically AND emotionally inspired. I feel like the AB guys just committed credibility suicide. Breaks my heart. And big surprise, Stapp is speaking for everyone again. I hate to say it but I hope this tour flops.”

McCartney97 hopes some other Nineties (and Eighties) bands get into the reunion game:
“Ugh. First Limp Bizkit now Creed. How abut a talented band like The Smiths, Soundgarden or The Stone Roses?”

Kang speaks for the many posters dismayed at the reunion news:
“I would rather watch Lars from Metallica sing the entire ABBA collection solo in his little tennis outfit paying a fucking ukelele rather to even hear 30 seconds of anything from Creed. Worst band ever.”

Reading Creed’s name mentioned in the same sentence as the mighty Pearl Jam just made me throw up in my mouth a little.

“Creed Reunite, Fans React: The Response to Stapp’s “Rebirth””

What creed fans?

The Music Elitist | 4/29/2009, 12:26 pm EST

This is one of the worst things to happen in music this year. Creed is awful.

Ohbeer | 4/29/2009, 12:36 pm EST

Who Cares…no really who?

Mike | 4/29/2009, 12:47 pm EST

It’s also an insult to STP to put them in the same sentence as Creed. By STP’s third album (even their second), it was clear that they had expanded musically and could do more than just what they did on Core. Creed on the other hand sounded like they were imitating Core and Stapp was even imitating how Weiland sang on it for every album they released. Listen to “Sin” or “Where the River Goes” off Core and you’ll know what I mean.

Will | 4/29/2009, 1:01 pm EST

I was a Creed fan once… back in middle school… before I discovered good music.

CDPlayer | 4/29/2009, 1:15 pm EST

Alter Bridge has been working on their third disc and an Alter Bridge DVD will be coming out soon.

If you have never seen Alter Bridge you need to check them out. They are one of those few bands that are actually better live and will blow you away. All the guys in AB are very humble too.

I think this short lived Creed tour/CD is a great way for each guy to make mega bucks in a few months and will be a great marketing platform for Alter Bridge since the exposure will have many more people following where the guys go after this short fling is over. They will then be turned on to Alter Bridge.

Myles is an incredible and very humble singer/guitarist and Mark is an incredible humble guitarist. Brian and Scott are great too and a rock solid rhythm section. Once you find a perfect match like Alter Bridge has, there is no reason to stop making awesome music together. There was obviously a lot of tension in Creed. This reunion gives Creed fans what they want and the guys will make an incredible amount of money in just a few months and then get back to what they love- Alter Bridge

guitar_davey | 4/29/2009, 1:21 pm EST

“…they have…influenced a lot of today’s bands…”

WRONG! The bands Creed are ripping off have influenced a lot of today’s bands! Any band today that is influenced by Creed is simply another band keeping that boring, commercialized yarling 90’s sound alive–and this is from a Pearl Jam fan. Enough fucking “yeAHH bands” already!!

Anonymous | 4/29/2009, 1:32 pm EST

i see this thread becoming a creed bashing like the last one. and i loved the last one.

rot in hell creed!

susan | 4/29/2009, 1:49 pm EST

I fucking love Creed. I am so pumped that they are getting back together. AB was okay, good even, and Scott Stapp’s solo CD was okay. Call him what you like, but he has a phenomonal voice. Egomaniac or not, he can sing. As Creed they are the best they can be. I have seen about a billion concerts in my life time and I have to hand it to these boys, they were great.

Slash | 4/29/2009, 1:55 pm EST

Creed Rock! F The Haters and I’d give them the advice that it’s time to move out of their mom’s basement!

john | 4/29/2009, 2:39 pm EST

Your a moron..mighty pearl jam??eddie vedder wishes he had the run scott did in creed…what a fucking joke..lol..pearl jam hasn’t had a hit since vitaology..if u really want a joke..creed rules suck it haters cause I smell another #1 album coming…

JC | 4/29/2009, 2:51 pm EST

Mark Tremonti is a god. Creed rocks, Alter Bridge rocks, so lets rock!

Saint Basil | 4/29/2009, 2:55 pm EST

Man that Stapp is one scary dude. I mean, look at that head. WTF is that?!

Music Guru | 4/29/2009, 2:58 pm EST

let me begin with this, My favourite bands are: Coldplay, Taking Back Sunday, Sigur Ros, Bon Iver, Mute Math, Devendra Banhart, Explosions in the Sky, Muse, etc. Very un-Creedesque bands. But when I heard they were getting back together, I almost cried. Out of straight up joy. Honestly, Mark Tremonti is one of the greatest guitarists ever, anyone who ACTUALLY knows about guitar playing knows what I am talking about. Not you little indie loving, hate the man, emo people. You have to look into the music, actually hear it, not just throw it out cause YOU think his voice sucks. Listen to “Who’s Got My Back Now?” one of the most epic songs ever created. Could not be happier that this is happening, see you in Tulsa Creed.

Mabby | 4/29/2009, 3:26 pm EST

“…pearl jam hasn’t had a hit since vitaology…”

Who gives a shit about hits? It’s about having a great catalog of music, which Pearl Jam definitely does. They’re one of the best.

Mark Tremonti is NOT a great guitarist.

Creed is buttrock with the best of em, put em up there with Nickelback and 3 Doors Down.

Phil | 4/29/2009, 3:27 pm EST

Woah back off the pearl jam sir…they are in the top ten all time selling artist with I don’t know the likes of the Beatles and the Stones…Vitology was Pj’s third albumn…their second record was the fatest selling album in America with a million copie sin a week and they did that without some gay video with stapp posing like christ…infact they had no videos or official single. They are still together and have had dozens of successful tours and albumns…dude pull your head out of the bargain bin where you will find my own prision and human clay and get with the now…Creed sucks

Phil | 4/29/2009, 3:27 pm EST

creed is a fake rock band, the first cd had some ok tracks, but I don’t get how some people praise them so much. and Stapp can’t sing live for BEANS.

CDPlayer | 4/29/2009, 4:03 pm EST

Mabby I am curious who you consider a great guitarist?

yourphantompoet@yahoo | 4/29/2009, 4:05 pm EST

Anyone who wants to slam CREED, needs to stand up and show what they have done themselves…

The truth is: Creed’s movement and contrbution was bigger than the band members themselves., problems can start with great music…

Personally, I would love to write just (1) song for Creed or Scott Stapp!

The haters need to get back underneath their daddies sheets and quit worrying about CREED.

The Eternal | 4/29/2009, 4:17 pm EST

Ahahahaha…Creed

tom | 4/29/2009, 4:26 pm EST

Rs, thanks for finally acknowledging
that you read these posts on your website. maybe do a poll of what the readers would like to hear about.

BTW- I detest Creed. thanks

Alex | 4/29/2009, 5:07 pm EST

Will everyone shut up! Creed got me into music. I am a huge guns n roses fan and all i have to say is um didn’t slash and axl get drunk all the time like stapp. Didn’t they have sex with strippers too. They even started riots. So if everyone hates stapp for doing the rock star thing shouldn’t we hate all the other rock stars.

Alex | 4/29/2009, 5:10 pm EST

oh and alter bridge will probably continue. Mark, Brian, and scott phillips will probably just alternate between the two bands if creed continues after this.

CDPlayer | 4/29/2009, 5:37 pm EST

What will the rest of the guys in the Scott Stapp band do?

Benji | 4/29/2009, 5:41 pm EST

ANY CHANCE OF THEM COMING TO THE UK? ALTER BRIDGE LOVE IT HERE. COULD NOT BE HAPPIER!

mabby is an idiot | 4/29/2009, 5:42 pm EST

pj has had much success since vitalogy.

tremonti is awesome….your a douche

Best Guitarist | 4/29/2009, 6:12 pm EST

The greatest guitar player in the world is Neil Young. He can play flight of the bumblebee with incredible speed and technique!

Tray | 4/29/2009, 6:29 pm EST

I will go ahead and say that Creed could be considered one of those bands that many think to be overrated, but to put them under Alter Bridge is just stupid. Creed made rock songs that will be remembered. No matter how much you liked Alter Bridge, they never made ONE just GREAT rock song that was on the radio constatnlty, and is constantly being talked about.

They sounded good, don’t get me wrong, but they’re NOT better than Creed, get over it. History will tell you that, so stop trying to convince yourself that you like Alter Bridge. You’ll forget about them in a year or two, trust me.

Jay | 4/29/2009, 6:36 pm EST

Paint-by-numbers generic rock at its worst. People who like this band have no f-ing soul. I thought we were done with them forever until their clone baby, nickelback came along. Will this shit ever end???

= ) | 4/29/2009, 6:54 pm EST

Mccartney makes a good point. Id rather see a soundgarden reunion. Wich almost happend a month ago. But i do like Creed. I think theyre one of those bands that people say all this stuff but really like them.

Anonymous | 4/29/2009, 6:56 pm EST

Myles gotta have something if he was jamming with Zeppelin and rumored to be jamming with Velvet Revolver.
It seems Creed is back and likely since it seems Myles is looking for a new gig.

Dude Man | 4/29/2009, 7:22 pm EST

Well I had no clue that my comment would end up on it’s own article, but let me just say I’m a fan of STP, Creed, and Pearl Jam. All I was saying is that both Creed and STP were heavily influenced by Pearl Jam. Neither were rip-offs because they still both had thier own unique take on that influence. I also posted a second comment on the main article and for the guy who said( guitar_davey) that today’s bands were influenced by the bands Creed were influenced by and not Creed themselves does that mean that all the bands that were influenced by Led Zepplin were influenced by The Small Faces and bands influenced by Aerosmith were influenced by The Rolling Stones. I don’t think it works that way. And they sold about 26 million albums in the U.S. alone and about 35 million world wide, so whether most people admit it or not, Creed had fans. And to Rolling Stone, Pearl Jam’s reissue was great, but you guys did not have to bash Creed on the review by saying that they got lucky by imitating Pearl Jam. If you are a Creed fan look up the review for Ten( Legacy Edition) here and see what I mean. Today I have no shame in saying “Higher”, “With Arms Wide Open”, “My Own Prison” and all thier other great songs, still hold up to the test of time.

BSiz | 4/29/2009, 7:25 pm EST

Creed was the greatest band since the Rolling Stones…this reunion may just change the face of music forever. Let the revolution begin.

Wes | 4/29/2009, 7:40 pm EST

Creed is like Nickelback but even worse…

You might be gay if you like Coldplay, but if you dig Creed or Nickelback for that matter, chances are you are a first class Tool.

Altbaby94 | 4/29/2009, 7:41 pm EST

Alex… we hate the rockstar douchebaggery, if it’s done by Creed, GNR, or even PJ. Fortunately, PJ aren’t cliched like that and are intelligent human beings that make great music. Now, I’m not going to comment on the quality of the music being discussed, seeing as how many people have already done it, but let’s just say – we hate Scott Stapp. Because he’s unoriginal and a walking cliche.

mikiwi | 4/29/2009, 7:42 pm EST

My God if any of you think creed (or crudd) are in the same league as mighty Pearl Jam you are all stupid.Of course creed sold lots of albums, but they would especially when the average age is of 12yrs.
Joke of a band I say !!

Derek | 4/29/2009, 7:44 pm EST

Haha, haters! Suck it!! Creed rules!!!

Mr. C | 4/29/2009, 7:45 pm EST

I hope the arena tour turns into a theatre tour, then a club tour, then to playing shit-hole strip bars for beer…then, only in a perfect world, Creed can finally go away.

sweetlilmogal | 4/29/2009, 7:48 pm EST

If you don’t like them, then don’t buy their friggin’ album or go to their concerts. We don’t bash one’s music preference here in AMerica Everybody likes different things, and CREED has their fans that will buy their albums, show up to their concerts; there’s plenty of room in Rock and Roll for everyone.

Anonymous | 4/29/2009, 7:54 pm EST

Tray, just because Alter Bridge hasn’t really been picked up commercially doesn’t mean their music isn’t better. it’s just not as commercial. AB isn’t about being huge chart toppers, it’s about the music, and the music is definitely better than creed’s.

and btw… I’ve had sirius for the last few weeks, and I’ve heard heard Open Your Eyes (AB’s first single) multiple times. so they do have a song from almost 5yrs ago that’s STILL played on the radio.

THE BRIDGE STANDS STRONG! :D

Anonymous | 4/29/2009, 7:57 pm EST

Myles isn’t looking for another gig. I don’t know where the VR thing came from. I haven’t heard anything about that. at least not recently. he turned slash down for an audition back when VR was formed. Myles has said he’s working on a solo side project, but it’s just that. a side project. AB isn’t going anywhere.

Steve | 4/29/2009, 8:03 pm EST

I quite enjoy the concept that if someone likes Creed they are “out of touch with good music” but fans of Pearl Jam are “enlightened”. Music is a matter of perspective. You like Pearl Jam, fine, I do not, personally I prefer Creed, done deal. Really if you listen beyond the similar sounding vocals, the music and content is quite different. Besides both bands aren’t necessarily intended for the same audience. And listening to one side doesn’t make someone have better taste than the other. So get over it, and for God sakes stop shoving Pearl Jam down my throat. I’ve of heard them, I’ve listened to them, I’m not a fan. Done.

Alter bridge Rules | 4/29/2009, 8:11 pm EST

mark said alter bridge is their first priority and i think this tour is for the benefit of AB

CDPlayer | 4/29/2009, 8:40 pm EST

Tray I just want to understand your philosophy. Are you saying Alter Bridge is not in the same league as Creed based on the fact that Creed has sold more, had huge recognized hits and tons of fans?

JRL | 4/29/2009, 8:46 pm EST

Alex,
We don’t hate Scott Stapp for doing what other rock stars do. Jim Morrison, Jimmy Page, David Lee Roth, and Axl Rose are in a long and proud tradition of drunken rock gods. We hate Scott Stapp because his music sucks ass and he’s a massive douche rocket. Jimi Hendrix at his drunkest and most debased still pisses all over the best efforts of Creed. Sorry they introduced you to music. I was introduced by Bon Jovi in the 80’s when I was 12, but you don’t hear me defending him now, do you?

David Menocal | 4/29/2009, 9:24 pm EST

I welcome Creed’s come back “with arms wide open!” They are without a doubt, the greatest band of all time. No question about it. There has never been a man that had as strong an impact and influence on the world as Scott Stapp. He defined music, style, partying, and sex throughout the 90′, the early 2000’s, and the rest of our lives.

needthenewalbumsoon | 4/29/2009, 9:35 pm EST

I’m an Alter Bridge fan to but if they are better than Creed then why is there album sales so much lower than Creeds. Maybe because Myles is a really good singer but boring to listen to compared to Stapp. It’s no secret Scott and Mark’s chemistry in making music is unbelievable, just listen to the My Own Prison album again, it’s way better than any Alter Bridge album to date. I never get Alter Bridge songs stuck in my head like I did Creed songs. So lets see how the new album sounds before we bitch about it, they have been away from each other for so long that I think the new album will kill the charts. Oh and btw, Pearl Jam hasen’t done a good album since Ten, even there new single sucks and so do you ha ha

whatever | 4/29/2009, 10:04 pm EST

the only reason people hate on creed is because they got big. they were never a bad band. if they were unknowns, pearl jam fans would be hyping them up alongside creed. this is a fact.

secondly, lets not forget that pearl jam has put some really terrible stuff out there, too. yes, theyve been in the game longer, but honestly, im shocked that anyone would even compare the two. they are two totally different bands with different goals and different concerns. the only thing similar about them is that they both exude pretension

richie aprile | 4/29/2009, 10:10 pm EST

bottom line, the world was better without Creed.

Woltgan | 4/29/2009, 10:16 pm EST

We don’t hate Creed ‘coz they’re huge. We hate Creed ‘coz they got huge by releasing mediocre music. It’s like someone won a talent contest by their looks only. Like Paris Hilton and the like. It’s actually just Scott Stapp. Talk about cheese. And there are other cheesy people out there that like cheesy talent. Alter Bridge any day.

StrummerJones | 4/29/2009, 10:17 pm EST

Creed bores the snot out of me.

Whatever.. | 4/29/2009, 10:32 pm EST

Say what you like, My Own Prison was a f@#ckin killer album and if they have any sense they will take a look at that albom and get some inspiration there. After that they choked on goats balls. I’m gonna give them a chance, hope they dont F it up.

Now someone tell Cornell to get those goat balls out of HIS mouth and call Kim Thayil, I heard he isnt busy and there is a big need for some Soundgarden.

WTF? | 4/29/2009, 10:32 pm EST

This is totally a cheap shot but WTF is wrong with Stapp’s face in that photo? It looks like a Haloween mask. RS needs better photographers.

zemongoose | 4/29/2009, 10:41 pm EST

I’ve noticed that Creed fans like to use the word “hater” quite a bit. People who use the word “hater” generally tend to reinforce my belief that the only problem with abortion is that there aren’t enough of them.

Bands like Creed & Nickelback are to Pearl Jam what the hair metal bands were to Led Zeppelin: an easy to manage, easy to market facsimile of something genuine.

Anonymous | 4/29/2009, 11:22 pm EST

Wow i haven’t seen this much craze over a band in quite some time.

Eric | 4/29/2009, 11:46 pm EST

Creed = Nickelback -Both sell a shitload of albums using a formula, the same formula 80’s bands such as Poison, and Warrant used to sell albums with. Here is what you see at the next Creed concert, 40 year old women in tight black sweaters and Lee Jeans with the 9 inch zippers. 50 year old men with their JC Penney rocker button up shirts tucked in. Have fun, I’m going to the Faith No More show.

Anonymous | 4/29/2009, 11:51 pm EST

needthenewalbumsoon, wtf kind of AB fan are you to question how good their music is based on album sales???? if you’re actualy an AB fan you KNOW their music isn’t just good, it’s phenomenal. good music isn’t defined by album sales… as far as myles being more boring than stapp, that’s almost as funny as saying that stapp is better than myles (I just about fell on the floor laughing when I read that somewhere). myles and mark are a better songwriting team than mark and stapp. give me AB any damn day! just waiting patiently for the AB live DVD to drop over the summer, and this tour to end so AB can go back in the studio in November to record ABIII!

Bedrocker7 | 4/29/2009, 11:55 pm EST

Creed makes Bernie Williams look like Motor Head

Me | 4/30/2009, 12:31 am EST

Creed is one of the best bands ever. Alter Bridge is one of the best bands ever. Scott Stapp is one of the best bands ever. I couldn’t be happier that Stapp and Tremonti are back together making awesome music for the world to devour. Go Creed!

Me | 4/30/2009, 12:32 am EST

Oops… Scott Stapp is one of the best singers ever, not band… duh lol

ladeeda | 4/30/2009, 12:51 am EST

Scott Stapp is a traditional singer that has Christian values: he sings a lot about God and Christ masked in dumb metaphors in his music.. and then gets drunk and throws oranngeina bottles at his wife.

truth.

Eddie Vedder | 4/30/2009, 1:04 am EST

These guys make me look so good.

No | 4/30/2009, 1:21 am EST

Creed was a genuinely good hard rock band. I want to hear “Bullets” rip into my being. Stapp is a bloody good singer. Half of today’s bands lack that charisma. People who are here saying negative stuff are closet Creed fans. Bon Jovi was their forerunner in the 80’s. People loved to hate them but still went out and bought millions of their cd’s.

Rott, Stapp! | 4/30/2009, 1:31 am EST

Fuck Creed for getting rich off the success of talented 90s bands. Fuck Altar Bridge for trying to get rich off the success of Creed.

rudeness | 4/30/2009, 2:28 am EST

less creed and a little more pearl jam thanks!

yep.

LOL! | 4/30/2009, 2:37 am EST

Faith No More?, really?, how pathetic, the 90’s are so dead.

90'S FACTS!!!!!!! | 4/30/2009, 2:40 am EST

Of all the poor spelling here, it’s funny how the 90’s fanatics point the poor spelling of the only person that’s been complete honest.
It’s a fact that the 90’s fails, I mean let’s just look at the surviving acts:
-Mr. “turn off those lights, this is not a TV studio!”, Eddie Vedder, has more TV appearances in the last 10 years then Celin Dion and Barabara Streinsand together.

-Chris Cornell went from James Bond movies to Justin Timbarlake, JUSTIN TIMBARLAKE!

-Radiohead turned into a cartoon of themselves, with a dozen of slow mo videos, calculated disheveled hair cut, “alternative” cliche lyrics and a couple of commercials for the Grammys owned by TV biggest monopoly the CBS network.

-Smashing Pumkins beg for attention with Billy Corgan trashing his fans for the low sales of his albums (I care about been #1) and even worse, united with Hanson, with HANSON!

-Nirvana… well, we all know that Dave Ghoul went to make POP records.

-And Rage Against the Machine keep talking about saving the third world poverty while livin the same lifestyle of Frank Sinatra.
So open your eyes fanatics, there’s nothing wrong with been commercial or making pop music, what is wrong is to say that your against that and then go a head and do it.

“The 90’s sucks! There’s nothing wrong with havin a good time”
-The Wrestler

So... | 4/30/2009, 2:42 am EST

Creed rip off Pearl Jam, Eddie Veder rip off Joe Cocker.

Come on! | 4/30/2009, 2:44 am EST

I don’t know anyone who listen to 90’s music anymore, you need to move on.

HurryCreedAndKillTheNegatives | 4/30/2009, 2:54 am EST

Scott has way more charisma then Myles, I love the Alter Bridge Music and bought there Albums no questions asked. But Myles is no where near as good captivating the audiance that Scott had/has. So I say Hurry up Creed and kill the Negatives!

duchampy | 4/30/2009, 4:53 am EST

jesus christ. i don’t know who is more annoying, the creed fans talking about their “inspiring” sound or the pearl jam fans calling creed fans stupid because they won’t admit creed is a stupid post grunge band.

to creed fans: i hate them. no not just the band. the fans too. why would you bother arguing with me to try to make me admit they were good?

to pearl jam fans: i hate them. no not just the band. the fans too. why would you bother arguing with me to try to make me admit they are good?

why did i bother reading this article?

why did i bother responding?

because i’m a hypocrite, thats why.

look.

if you guys want to celebrate a band that did a photo shoot with bare chests to show how….

I MEAN COME ON THEY DID A PHOTO SHOOT TO SHOW OFF THEIR ABS!!!!!!

yeah, so did led zeppelin and i hate them for that too.

they are no different from the preening likes of the jonas brothers and r kelly.

when is the last time you heard those two mentioned together?

yep. stoned and bored. Oh, look! mst3k on you tube!

Best post in the thread. Bang on.

TheFonz | 4/30/2009, 6:14 am EST

I know people put Creed down but, given the fact that they haven’t been together for so long, this tour might actually be worth it.Scott Stapp’s solo career went nowhere.Alter Bridge were a good band but their songs aren’t in my head like Creed’s.So,before people bitch of how Creed sucks and are a rip off of Pearl Jam,give the new CD a chance..

And this whole uproar about Creed reminds me of how back in the 80’s of how people hated bands like Bon Jovi and Posion but they went to sell a bucket load of albums so Creed will have the last laugh..

anhjort | 4/30/2009, 8:07 am EST

Creed, LOL!!! Wow thank god i dont listen to the radio anymore. Radio loves generic simple formula bands just ask the current Creed under the name Nickleback. Both bands are a insult to musicians everywhere. By the way mentioning Creed with Pearl Jam is like mentioning Luc Longley in the same breath as Michael Jordan. Believe me the rock n roll hall of fame is already clearing room for Pearl Jam. Creed is welcome to check out the exhibit. For the idiot who says Pearl Jam hasnt had a hit since Vitalogy, their last album debut #1 and they had 3 hit songs off the album. Do your research then talk.

KCV | 4/30/2009, 8:47 am EST

GEE they are just a rock and roll band, not everyone has to like them…i liked a few of their songs but i could take them or leave them.

Scott Strapp-On | 4/30/2009, 8:52 am EST

This is truly a sign of the armageddon. God help us all.

willyg57 | 4/30/2009, 8:57 am EST

Knowing 2 of the actual players in this drama … I must say that the band is talented and has a spot in the world of music …yeah Stapps posturing over the yrs is played out …but RS and other “critics” are way over the top on this subject. If you dont like ‘um dont listen!

God's Wisdom | 4/30/2009, 8:57 am EST

Please who is it in Pearl Jam that is an incredible musician?

Mark Tremonti lives eats and breaths guitar and it shows. It is pretty neat that his guitar skills have improved year after year ever since Creed hit the scene in the 90’s

mfingninja | 4/30/2009, 9:25 am EST

I am not gonna bash Creed (just too easy) but name one other band that has been sued by it’s own fans for putting on such an awful show. I rest my case…

gnrbuckeye | 4/30/2009, 9:25 am EST

Are you Pearl Jam fans seriousley still playing the Scott Stapp sounds like Eddie Vedder card. Get the fuck over it! Eddie is a better singer but Stapp still writes better music by far. Pearl Jam was and is not nearly as socially relevant as Creed and this reunion will be bigger than anything Pearl Jam has done minus the album Ten. Go play in traffic. The boys are back and ready to kick ass once again. Deal with it. I will say i am bummed to see Alter Bride go but i do think this reunion with a healthy sober Stapp will be pretty amazing.

God's Wisdom | 4/30/2009, 9:37 am EST

It seems like almost all of Creed’s problems were caused by Stapp. Tremonti seems like a perfectionist and it has been documented that he and the other guys could no longer go along with the crap they had to go through in putting up with him so they moved on.

The Real Scott Stapp | 4/30/2009, 9:52 am EST

You Goddamn Gang Of Syphlis Ridden lintheads!!!

Don’t you have enough sense to understand that there is no comparisson between Pearl Jam and Creed.

Leave Pearl Jam out of this. Just seeing their name printed alongside Creed is enough to turn my stomach into a burning barrel of toxic bile.

Creed are nothing but a bunch of worthless bible humping yobos who have done nothing but ass rape rock’n'roll and degrade everything that it once proudly stood for.

I wish nothing but utter failure and total humiliation upon this reunion.

Scott Stapp and his gang of swine deserve to be hung in the city square, beaten with sockballs full stone, and then thrown out on the sea of of brown they sailed in on.

Fuck Creed
Long Live Pearl Jam
Long Live Rock!!!

They are a talentless group of

Mr Rock Psychologist | 4/30/2009, 10:13 am EST

Mark Tremonti is obviously a perfectionist and it has been documented that he and the other guys could no longer go along with the crap they had to go through in putting up with Mr God Complex so they moved on.

thesoundofonehandclapping | 4/30/2009, 10:20 am EST

Good on ‘em. Let them do what they want I don’t care.
I ignored them the first time around. I can certainly ignore them again.

J MAC | 4/30/2009, 10:20 am EST

Pearl Jam is a solid Rock band. Nothing more nothing less. They get a grade of a “B” overall. Their fans think that they are the greatest ever while really they have a good front man and above average band. A music group has to be somewhat cutting edge and have some musical diversity to be worthy of the hype that they get.

On the other hand Creed sucks. Talk about having no edge. These guys are corporate created tools.

Ironically Tool rules so go figure.

Scott Stapps Mom | 4/30/2009, 10:23 am EST

Scotty are you really sober hun? I hope so. Please get your real estate license or start an Anger Management Boxing Gym for punks and start your new career. Hun your vocal range is limited so without the studio pitch corrections you just can’t hit those high rock notes. If you want really sing please stay within your range (think Johny Cash) so that when you play live you can pull it off.

gnrbuckeye | 4/30/2009, 10:25 am EST

You chumps can whine all you want about Creed’s return but its still coming and its still going to do very well whether you like it or not. I venture to guess all of you have that My Own Prison hidden somewhere in your house too. Before Higher came out Creed was the new savior of rock n roll. Once that song was released they lost their rock n roll credibility. The first single off that record should have been “What If.” If that happened all of you would still be rockin Creed’s nutsack and would be just as excited for this reunion as we are. Bottom line to each their own. If you dont like it dont listen! Go put on your headphones and listen to the jonas brothers or something.

Yo | 4/30/2009, 10:33 am EST

Hey selling a bunch of records doesnt make you good( look at britney, nickelback, an all the boy bands)they’ve sold millions of records and their music sucksssss. the same with creed. and when your fans sue you for putting a bad show, i guess that says it all. and also Pearl jam music has grown with their fans, maybe if they had made another Ten instead od Vs or another Vs instead of Vitology and another Vitology instead of No Code( best record ever). Every Cd is diferent in its own way. And evertbody that says that Ten is their only good Album. i’m very glad you dont like them anymore. and please stop comparing them to PJ, Please
Peace love and rock & Roll..

J MAC | 4/30/2009, 10:37 am EST

gnrbuckeye “If you dont like it dont listen! Go put on your headphones and listen to the jonas brothers or something.”
Don’t you get it Creed is like a half step from the jonas brothers. I am going to put on my headphones and listen to the Flaming Lips or Iggy Pop.

Creed’s Nutsack | 4/30/2009, 10:41 am EST

In the 90’s I had such a high concentration of testosterone and began to sometimes act out of control like an ass. My balls then divided into an Alter Bridge Nutsack and a Stapp Nutsack. The Alter Bridge Nutsack was even keel, productive and swell (no pun intended). The Stapp Nutsack almost died in a pitiful rage of self-destruction. The two nutsacks have recently been fused together and I am “One” (no Creed pun intended). I sure hope I am not a jackass over the next few months.

Anonymous | 4/30/2009, 11:01 am EST

“Don’t you get it Creed is like a half step from the jonas brothers. I am going to put on my headphones and listen to the Flaming Lips or Iggy Pop.”

And youre questioning my taste in music? Give me a fuckin break. I beg to differ. Youre basing your beliefs on songs you heard solely on the radio and the behavior of a man who was clearly unstable for many years. Just because you dont like it doesnt mean that its not good. If you believe that then youre just flat out ignorant.

StappsWifesBlackEye | 4/30/2009, 11:22 am EST

They were on the cover, yes. Know where the picture was taken? INSIDE A FUCKING THEME PARK RIDE at Universal Studios in Orlando. A shitty one, too. When I worked there we had a framed picture of it.. keeping our fridge popped up one side in the break room. When we would tell people about it they would either laugh their ass off or ask “Who?”

Blah Blah Blah | 4/30/2009, 11:26 am EST

Talent is talent. You can’t get far without it in the music biz. Creed has the recipe that works. There a great band, let the music do the talking.

GOD | 4/30/2009, 11:42 am EST

I hate this fucking band.

Creed Sucks Balls | 4/30/2009, 11:46 am EST

Creed was laughed at during their time of success by people who like good music. Sales don’t equate to good music.

I don’t care how many records they sold, they always sucked and were not taken seriously by anyone in the music industry.

I don’t think it’s ever going to be a good time for a Creed reunion. This band has and always will suck.

Shocked at God | 4/30/2009, 11:49 am EST

God I thought you preach not to hate?

Also why are you cursing?

Dear Sucker of Creeds Balls | 4/30/2009, 11:56 am EST

There is great talent in the band. It appears that you were also sucked into thinking like so many non-musicians think that the singer is the band. Here’s another one that non-musicians get sucked into “The singer must write/create all the songs”

CT | 4/30/2009, 12:02 pm EST

If not by sales, how does one define good music by a populace objectively?

Anonymous | 4/30/2009, 12:03 pm EST

Balls, Shit, Ass, Cock, Crap, Satan’s Dick, Cumrags, Fecal Corns

CREED SUCKS THEM ALL.

Voice of Authority | 4/30/2009, 12:18 pm EST

Creed and Nickelback are the Beatles and Stones of our time. Creed is way better, actually, than the Beatles and Stones put together. Name a Beatles song better than “My Own Prison.” Yeah, didn’t think so. Rock on Creed!

Stapp Infection | 4/30/2009, 12:21 pm EST

A Creed reunion will be cool if Scott Stapp is drunk everynight and yells at the fans and stuff. All drunk and disorderly. Drunk abusive rockstars rule!

Stapp Infection | 4/30/2009, 12:24 pm EST

I heard Chris Brown is gonna be on the new album. Him and Stapp wrote a tune together, actually. It’s called, “Get Outta My Face (Woman).”

Steve | 4/30/2009, 12:39 pm EST

“They were one of the most talked about band of the 90’s” Seriously? Who the hell was talking about them. Nobody within my social circles thank god. Mind you I was living in England at the time so it must have just been Americans talking about them. I don’t think the rest of the world or anybody with any taste in music could name one song they sing. And before you sling mud, yes I’ve heard them on the radio before and yes I turned the radio off halfway through whatever self loathing song they were playing that day. Top 40 pap at it’s absolute worst.

Stapp Infection | 4/30/2009, 12:48 pm EST

Voice of Authority I hope you were kidding by saying Creed and Nickelback are the Beatles and Stones of today. Creed and Nickelback are possibly the worst rock bands of all time while the Beatles and Stones are the best! To say that you are insulting our generation. Every single Beatle and Stones song is better then Creed or Nickelbacks best! Get some taste in your music before putting up the most ridiculous comment I have ever seen on Rolling Stone. Oh and Pearl Jam is a million trillion bagillion times better then Creed! Stop putting them together!

ScottsAbortionCreed | 4/30/2009, 2:29 pm EST

Rebirth or Abortion? I choose abortion. They need to abort this idea.

This band promoted themselves as a Christian band and then the dude knocks up his girl, has all these automatic weapons, beats his wife, and gets into bar fights.

He’s a pint size douche who needs to just thank whatever god he’s praying to these days that he’s not living on the streets.

tttO | 4/30/2009, 2:36 pm EST

Never in the same sentence. Hundreds of other singers sound like Ed too. I never understood why would anyone compare them. It’s all so pointless.

PJ FOR LIFE

Robby | 4/30/2009, 2:51 pm EST

It’s funny, Creed never once said they were a Christian band. In fact, I believe they’ve gone out of their way to discount that fact. Regardless, the Pearl Jam comparison is old. Plus that band blows so if you’re trying to say Creed blows like PJ than that’s an insult to Creed. People hate the massively successful because they’re jealous, and that’s what this is. Don’t listen to their music if you don’t like it. I dislike Brittney Spears music yet she still will continue to sell millions of albums without my support. I wish Creed and Alter Bridge much support as I have been fans of both since the beginning. Now if Creed fucks up this new album, I’ll be dissapointed.

Aric | 4/30/2009, 2:52 pm EST

Creed sucks

Autoomatik Mick | 4/30/2009, 2:55 pm EST

I don’t get the hate for Creed. There have been way worse bands be huge. Like Linkin Park, Green Day and Velvet Revolver to name a few. Creed isn’t my fav by any means… far from it actually… but they aren’t the worst ever!!!

I get their sound. Very repetitive. Hopefully it’ll be a new sound.

Nun Puncher | 4/30/2009, 2:59 pm EST

Was anyone talking, thinking about or even listening to Creed before their reunion announcement ? Uh No.
This is an egotistical cash grab that will fail once that bag-O-dicks shows his true colors again.

witharmsclosed | 4/30/2009, 3:10 pm EST

Stick to the point. This article is about how much Creed sucks. It’s not a debate about how there are other bands that suck worse.

People hate Creed because they were so lame, yet so successful. Back then a lot of us still listened to radio and had to hear this $hit being played 24/7.

Forget water boarding they could just put someone in a room blasting creed 24/7, and they would cry uncle every time.

Nathan | 4/30/2009, 3:21 pm EST

Creed’s better than Green Day? No Mick, just no.

Eric | 4/30/2009, 3:25 pm EST

Ya LOL! (you send this comment from your Crackberry?), I said Faith No More. It’s not for 90’s nostalgia either, I just enjoy a well crafted song that does not follow a template. Another reason I mentioned FNM is that they are reuniting as well this year and if you have a choice go see them – they are WAY more respected than Creed. Ask any musician. Funny how many people are bashing this Creed thing instead of the Limp Bizkit deal – Creed you should stop, Bizkit is getting more respect! (Too funny, and I hate both bands)

Oh and all those Mark Tremonti lovers out there, that guy has the worst sound in history (comparable to CC Deville). Why Guitar Magazines caters do this dude is beyond me.

I love America! But I’m ashamed at our musical tastes.

Thank God for: Queens of the Stoneage – The Mars Volta – Jack White – Mark Lanegan – Radiohead

My Stapprafice | 4/30/2009, 3:50 pm EST

gnrbuckeye | 4/30/2009, 3:56 pm EST

You people are absurd. I understand the hatred for Scott Stapp but Mark Tremonti? Really? All the guy has done 10 years is shred on every song he plays and keep his mouth shut. Why do you think Sevendust, one of the hardest rock bands out today, asked him to do a guest spot on their album. If you dont believe me listen to the song “Hope.” He kicks ass. Best guitarist out today without a doubt. If one you chumps even disputes that claim with Jack White im going to punch you through the screen lol.

Doctors now belive that a us singer named scott strapp anounced a creed reunion and the second the announcment left his lips the pandemic was airborn. Congress is now looking into banning Scott and creed from the country.

nagboy92 | 4/30/2009, 4:00 pm EST

To Me, My Own Prison is the only consistantly good Creed album. After that they got overindulgent and started sucking. If they come out with a good hard rocking album like an STP or Pearl Jam album (Though they only have about 1/5 of either of those 2 bands talent) They will be good.

Anonymous | 4/30/2009, 4:01 pm EST

i can’t believe some of this shit im readin on here how can some of you people say creed is better than pearl jam are you fucking sick in the head theres a reason pearl jam headlines festivals like lollapolooza and bonaroo and creed cant even keep there band together

Mabby | 4/30/2009, 4:03 pm EST

To CD Player:

Great guitarists in my opinion would be Jimmy Page, Jeff Buckley, John Frusciante, George Harrison, Jonny Greenwood…guys like that.

There is nothing unique or special about Tremonti.

He’s Captain Mesa Boogie Triple Rectifier.

Total butt rock.

Hooked on Ibogane | 4/30/2009, 4:04 pm EST

Mark Tremonti is nothing more than a cheap Guitar Center wank.

He probably spend his days teaching suburban white kids beginner Chords before Creed got together.

Tremonti’s no better than your average mullet farmer down at the local guitar shop playing Eddie Van Halen riffs very poorly.

Tremonti and Creed are the very definition of paint by numbers rock’n'roll.

Creed’s style is so utterly bland and boring. The music and lyrics are some of the lamest piles of dog shit ever put to music.

Creed have absolutley ZERO BALLS and Scott Stapp has 24 hour shrinkage.

I wish Creed would just do the world a favor and fuck off.

They are an utter embarassment to rock’n'roll.

If you honestly believe that Creed is any more relevant or anywhere near as good as Pearl Jam…you are obviously someone who should be wearing protective head gear, and you should never ever be allowed to get a driver’s licence in any state or country.

Creed fans are nothing more than a bunch fly under the radar inbread waterheads.

Goddamn I’m glad I don’t have their ears.

This is going to be a brutal reunion.

Eric | 4/30/2009, 4:41 pm EST

GNRBuckeye – Spoken like a true douchebag…sevendust is shit, Tremonti is techinically proficient, but the music has no soul. He shreds to shred and cops Gilmore for melodic solos – he is all “solid state” “rectified” – Jack White? He made the phaser, and octave effects sound good in his songs – he is a songwriter not a shredder.

Sevendust blah! Go listen to Mastodon – creative songwriting and the guitarist knows how to put a solo together.

Trav | 4/30/2009, 4:45 pm EST

My Stapprafice- Creed will not take you higher and will not flourish. Music has changed and they have lost a lot of their fans. So why don’t you go and eat your own dick. You sound like a pussy anyways!

Sean | 4/30/2009, 4:53 pm EST

All I want to come out this tour is another beat down on Scott Stapp by the members of 311.

fritz316 | 4/30/2009, 5:02 pm EST

@gnrbuckeye-to even compare tremonti to jack white is absolutely ludicrous.

since when is guest-playing on a sevendust record (they’re still fucking together?!) a signal of guitaring greatness?

there’s a reason why white shared a rs cover with page, plant, king, van halen and the like last year.

meanwhile, tremonti would jizz his pants if he had a 3-inch fuzzbox ad in the back of a guitarworld magazine.

iLly | 4/30/2009, 5:23 pm EST

Green Day’s new album and tour are more relevant. Fuck Creed.

Fucking Sevendust?? Holy Suffering Baldheaded!! What kind of goddamn music do you listen to?

Tremonti is nothing but dime store hack. He’s got no soul. His playing is just fucking bland with NO BALLS at all.

Creed suck…They should be locked in a fucking noise chamber and save the world another dreadful round of their godawful gibberish music.

Anonymous | 4/30/2009, 5:44 pm EST

Scott and Eddie both have deep voices. That’s about the closest similarity you can get. Besides the vocals the rest of the music doesn’t sound the same at all. If you can name a Pearl Jam and Creed song that sounds the same be my guest. Ten – best 90’s album
Weathered – best 2000’s album

MikeH | 4/30/2009, 7:00 pm EST

Well as a young teen in 8th grade backin in 1999 I got into My Own Prison. I saw Creed five times live from 2000 to the 03 New Year’s eve show in Philly. After their split like most fans I was slightly pissed. They influenced me in many ways and their songs helped me through some rough times, any band who can do that for you is respectable. I saw Alter three times and they were as equally influential and awesome at putting on a show, which were to my liking in smaller venues than Creed so as more personable for me. I must say, after hating Stapp for the break up, I both admired and respected him when he played a free show in Baghdad for the troops while I was deployed there (career Marine). You could tell he cared about his fans and worked on his own weaknesses and shortcomings. Word from both band reps is that both AB and Creed are due to stay together, release new Music and Tour so I don’t see any issue with that. All of you who bash Creed and hate on them are probably the same ones that have all their old CD’s in your closet that you’ll pull out and jam to when no one’s looking, and will probably buy Full Circle too. I had many friends growing up that bashed them but after I took them to a concert there was no more shit to be talked. And one more thing any band they can overcome the great Metallica for Billboards Top Rock Artist is worthy of respect. Hate em or Love em, I guarantee you’ll listen to em.

JamPilot | 4/30/2009, 7:25 pm EST

I can’t believe how much hate there is on this page. If you don’t like Creed, that’s fine, but you don’t need to go around trashing their fans and band members. If you don’t like them, just fuckin leave them alone or at least have some class when you talk about disliking the band. And for all of you out there who say Creed is just a shitty version of Pearl Jam, that’s just so fucking ignorant. I have all of Creed’s albums and all of PJ’s albums and besides a similarity in Vedder and Stapp’s singing style, there’s really nothing else about the bands that’s that similar. Creed is much more hard rock/metal influence and PJ has a bluesy sound. I don’t care what anyone else thinks, I’m pumped for the Creed reunion!

Quit Bitching | 4/30/2009, 7:36 pm EST

It’s funny to me. All these Pearl Jam fans talking up their re-issue. You know why they had to re-issue something, because nothing new they came up with is relevant or good enough in today’s rock scene. LONG LIVE CREED AND AB. O and all who talk shit about Tremonti’s playing, you out play him and then talk shit all of you are probably stuck on Green day and Blink power chords and couldn’t fathum the talent it take to come up with a decent solo or sweep pick…..homos

Charles U. Farrlley | 4/30/2009, 7:40 pm EST

Creed is as important to music as Soundgarden, Nirvana, Guns N’ Roses and Tool. I would equate them to (in terms of importance and relevance) Fleetwood Mac, not quite Pink Floyd but close.

FunkyMF | 4/30/2009, 7:42 pm EST

green day sucks, biggest sell out band of all time

kelbell | 4/30/2009, 7:48 pm EST

It’s so funny to see that the people who hate Creed so much take the time to read articles about them and then take the time to write how much they hate them! You people need to get a life. I’m excited for the tour!!!!!

Mark | 4/30/2009, 8:27 pm EST

I never liked Creed, but its not like they started crappy music, or it ended after they split

Kim | 4/30/2009, 8:31 pm EST

This is GREAT news!!! I believe this concert is going to be one of my favorites FOREVER. To all band members of Creed you’ve got my vote and a whole lotta others too. Don’t listen to the voices of negativity it’s always there and you just have to put it where it belongs… BEHIND & BENEATH YOU…………

My faith is with you,
Always, Kim/Colorado

Aaron D. | 4/30/2009, 8:37 pm EST

Did I really just read someone say Creed is as important as Soundgarden? Really? Last time I checked, Soundgarden wasn’t a derivative band of hacks. No one (who knows anything) will ever compare put Human Clay up there with Superunknown…ever.

They were a band devoid of originality, a band whose sound was completely defined by its influences. Even their best song (”What If”) was watered down “Wicked Garden.” Their singer had a Jesus complex, wrote the ham-fisted lyrics with no sense of subtlety whatsoever, and then sang those lyrics in a way that was simultaneously overblown and dull. Their guitarist, while talented, was very, very boring. Have you heard the solo in “With Arms Wide Open?” Pretty cool technically…pretty boring when you listen to it.

Creed is rock music for people who know nothing about rock music.

Wicked Celtics | 4/30/2009, 8:47 pm EST

I have to admit, I have a Stapp infection.

Thanks for posting this! With so much bad news being posted it’s good to see some positivity!!!! Everyone wants to hate. yeah, I’d like to see them go triple DIAMOND, sell 35 millions records, right? exactly.

This is the BEST news I’ve ever heard…in my entire life. The one band that actually improved people’s lives by giving them a second Christ to look up to and give true hope that life can be worth living! Scott Stapp will be remembered as the songwriter of our generation, not to mention easily the best SHOW of our Millenia! Even his National Anthem soars skyscraper-height over Aretha’s inaugural rendition! I love Aretha, who doesn’t, but Scott dominates… and we should bestow upon him the honor and rock-god glory, for ever and ever. Amen.

Officially,
Wicked Celtics
“Wicked C” if ya nasty

Kims Deeler | 4/30/2009, 8:48 pm EST

Creed sucks

Charles U. Farrlley | 4/30/2009, 8:51 pm EST

Creed is better than the Beatles. Scott Stapp is more talented than John Lennon, Bob Dylan and Tom Waits.

jp | 4/30/2009, 9:10 pm EST

Look, it’s not like they’re going to elbow their way onto the bill at Lollapolooza or anywhere else in which I might be subjected to this cringe-inducing rehash of a long-forgotten cultural footnote. Apparently they think there’s a market for this, so why not live and let live? After all, it’s just a tour — good luck getting these guys into a studio together — and as anyone from Chicago saw on the last go-around, these things have a way of blowing themselves up. Having said that, I find it comical that the only Creed defender RS felt was quote-worthy cited Stone Temple Pilots as his archetype of an original act.

Gordon Gecko | 4/30/2009, 10:38 pm EST

Listen, everyone knows there’s only one way to settle the arguement. Who sold more records? And everyone knows that Creed has sold the most records out of anyone. They were around before downloading, which is something I don’t like. I like Creed because a lot of people bought their records. That is the only reason. A good enough reason for me.

Buddy Fox | 4/30/2009, 10:42 pm EST

Your delusional, Gecko. Garth Brooks sold a lot of records and he stinks. Elvis, too. Pearl Jam- another band that sold a lot of records and sucks. Green Day doesn’t suck, and they sell a lot of records, but I don’t like them. The only artist to successfully combine both was Terrence Trent D’Arby.

smileyface | 4/30/2009, 10:42 pm EST

“So if everyone hates stapp for doing the rock star thing shouldn’t we hate all the other rock stars?”

Yes. You most definitely should. That’s just another example of what’s wrong with our sick society. We glamorize dim-witted, complacent rock stars and their ultra-lame self-indulgences.

Creed has no relevance whatsoever. I don’t understand why they are even reported on. Obviously there is a lot of interest from the public. For the same reason that mainstream radio is laughable, Nickelback are even allowed to exist, and the Jonas Brothers are the biggest band in the world. Actually, the latter is due to the power of 12 year old girls, which is fine, but what’s the reason for the rest? The average person has no interest in art or anything with any real power.

jcsreturn | 4/30/2009, 10:47 pm EST

Creed is the best band because they have the power of the LOrD! Jesus HT CHRIST behind them. Praise be! Are you ready?

Francis Christian | 4/30/2009, 10:49 pm EST

Regarding “Scott’s Rebirth” . . . .

May the Gates of Eden open up for Scott, and the Angels
sprine their magical dust on him, to see him through these difficult times.
I wish Scott a safe journey as he walks the seven continents, bringing his gifts to the people.
He is blessed, his creativity, humanity, and good deeds have touched us all.
I wish Scott Stapp eternal life as he carries the torch of life & freedom around the world, with his wonderful music.
Scott’s mission is not over, and he still has much good deeds to bestow upon the misunderstood and down trodden.
Scott is nt the savior to all, but is the savior to many, his connection to the heavens cannot be contested, and so Scott must forge on, and the Angels will summon the “Almighty”, to lift this burden from him, so that Scott can carry out his important mission.
Lets all hold hands & rejoice in the “Rebirth” of Scott, and spread the good news to all of his disciples.
When the Doves flock to his beautiful garden, that will be the signal from the “Almighty” that the healing process has begun, and Scott will rise to even greater heights with greater deeds and touch this troubled world, like no one before him.
Scott is brave, and will lead us all to freedom and the new Jerusalem.

smileyface | 4/30/2009, 10:52 pm EST

And also! A second Christ?! Creed could not be further away from the teachings of Jesus Christ! There is nothing remotely Christian about Creed. Kurt Cobain and Lou Reed are far closer to Christian music than Creed. They represented honest self-expression. Creed are corporate rock whores benefitting on the general stupidity of a select demographic.

Joe B | 5/1/2009, 12:00 am EST

what the hell is wrong with you dumb people??? pearl jam and creed are 2 of my favorite bands!!! ok, pearl jam has been more successful, but who cares? my first cd was the human clay album, and i still own it to this day!!! ok, stapp had some issues, but all rock artists do, look at ozzy osboure, the guys from metallica…they are back and starting to tour again after how many years…just give creed a chance again and they will definatly prove that they are better than they were before…ok, and for you assholes who think creed and pearl jam shouldnt be in the same sentence, should just go jump off a cliff!!! these two bands have had success, but all success ends and may return later on. i’m just trying to say that creed’s return may be good for the music industry, bcuz we haven’t seen that many good bands, but there were those bands that r still good no matter what. creed basically got me into the music i listen to today.
and fo all you people that hate creed, GO FUCK URSELF!!!

littlewing | 5/1/2009, 12:05 am EST

This is horrible as far as rock news goes. I know Myles said they’d get back together, but who knows what will happen? What if a new and improved Creed takes off . . .

I always found Creed to be intolerable and switched them off. Lame singing, boring and uninspired solos. But then after the breakup Tremonti went back to the basics practicing w/ improvisational blues styles that made him my new axeman hero, bringing back the real solos. He and Myles did great guitar work together, and Myles is a far superior singer than Stapp. I feel gypped! Don’t want no STAPP!

logic | 5/1/2009, 12:34 am EST

good news for nickelback they are now the second shittiest band in the world

timmy | 5/1/2009, 12:43 am EST

Creed have some really good songs in there “back” catalog .It makes you wonder why the other band members haven’t been so successful with alter bridge .I say good on them and now just need to sit back and wait for the miles Kennedy announcement ,as to what he is doing ;with whom ;and then let john paul jones and jimmy page fill the gaps with the summer tour that they have planned.

Ed | 5/1/2009, 1:23 am EST

wow. so people are upset that a post-grunge singer sounds like a grunge singer? GASP!!!

People who listen to nothing but Radiohead/Dylan/Beatles are just bitter that the Pixies or the Smiths haven’t gotten back together.

Listen to Bullets/Are you Ready/Freedom fighter etc. and maybe you’ll realize that Stapp is legit

CreedWillReviveRock | 5/1/2009, 3:09 am EST

Bitch, bitch, bitch. The only reason people hate Creed is because they got big. Alter Bridge hasen’t even come close to the level Creed was at and that’s why Alter Bridge is so well liked….for now. You guys no if Alter Bridge got big and sold millions of records (which they haven’t yet) that you would turn on them to. Don’t get me wrong, I will worship anything these guys do together or apart. So stop crying about Pearl Jam or Nickelback or whoevr you think Creed ripped off(even though Eddie Vedder sings like a lamb getting his balls sucked on by you haters out there because it sounds like you want to suck them so bad) or sucks worse then and stop sounding like you have a crush on Scott Stapp. Because that’s what elementry kids do in school, they pick on the ones they like the most!!!!!!

Scott Stapp is a Wanker. | 5/1/2009, 3:54 am EST

I have to admit that I have a soft spot for some of Creed’s biggest pop hits (simply because I can appreciate good pop music) but Stapp should crawl into a hole and die for being a cock.

fencer | 5/1/2009, 6:25 am EST

I’m on the fence about this one…
I saw Creed back in the day and they put on a bombastic, large arena show that made you feel good about bombastic, large arena shows when you left, but being a musician myself, I can’t help but cringe when I realize that their friendship has apparantly been repaired by a dollar-bill “band-aid”,,,,corporate scum

Anonymous | 5/1/2009, 8:03 am EST

Creed is a commodity, not music.

Charles U. Farrlley | 5/1/2009, 8:16 am EST

In decades and centuries to come Creed and Scott Stapp will be held in the same regard as Bach, Chopin, Beethoven, Elvis Presley, Buddy Holly, Johnny Cash, Bob Dylan, The Beatles, Robert Frost, Leonard Cohen, Tom Waits, Axl Rose, William Shakespeare, Bob Marley..etc.

Janet, Erie, PA | 5/1/2009, 8:49 am EST

I believe Scott has finally found the Lord, and come clean. As part of his “Rebirth”, he will write & perform the finest music known to mankind. Forget about Cobain, Vedder, etc.
The new empowered Scott will lead us to the promised land. Let us be so thankful for Scott’s “Rebirth”, I think you willhear about Christ & Scott’s new Religious freedom found in many of his new songs. If Scott and the lads from Creed play live again, they will need the Superdome to hold so many people.
This is a blessing indeed, and I am going to tell all m friends about it.
Rejoice!Rejoice1 Rejoice!

Anonymous | 5/1/2009, 8:59 am EST

Anyone who likes Creed obviously lacks intelligence, especially musical intelligence.

Pearl Jam rules

Charles U. Farrlley | 5/1/2009, 9:23 am EST

Creed and Scott Stapp is the greatest artist(s), in any art form and genre, of all time.

Every artist from every genre and art form should just quit now becuase nothing they create will even come close to the genius and perfection that is Creed music.

Everything ever created pales in comparison to Creed and Scott Stapp…..EVERYTHING!

Shel | 5/1/2009, 9:48 am EST

The first thing I did was check where Philly was on tour dates when I heard the news ..thankfully it is near the beginning in case the entire tour implodes as it goes on. I saw them 3 times in 2002 including the NY Eve show. I am also wondering how bad we will be gouged in ticket prices. Just call me cautiously optimistic .

NakedYo | 5/1/2009, 9:54 am EST

Bottom line, anyone who wastes their time and energy posting negative comments about Creed are just morons with no lives. Seriously, grow up and use your time for something better…like maybe jumping from the top of a really, really tall building.

Boris Dignan | 5/1/2009, 10:26 am EST

Forget about The Swine Flu…

Look at all these godamn Creed Fans…Obviously the gene pool in this country has gone seriously awry.

De-Evolution is certainly cause for a much greater concern than some glorrified head cold.

And on the subject of Swine Flu..I’ll remind everyone that wasn’t until Creed announced this dreaded reunion that the swine flu pandemic actually started.

Now I may not be the best authority on God, The Devil, and The End Of Days…but what if this is Swine Flu is some sort of punishment on mankind for allowing those assholes in Creed to re-form and further urinate over mankind’s proudest acomplishment:

ROCK’N'ROLL.

Godspeed Everyone.

richard hurtz | 5/1/2009, 11:39 am EST

you guys are forgetting what is important. there is no mention of a warhorse reunion. that is the real crime here. If shitty bands like greed are getting back together then cant we all come together as a people and raise the warhorse from its crypt. Warhorse could be the soundtrack for the economy, swine flu needs a soundtrack too. the state of the country needs a soundtrack, and the world needs WARHORSE. WARHORSE. WARHORSE. WARHORSE, from worchester mass.

Stapp Hits Women | 5/1/2009, 11:40 am EST

Why any woman would support this band is really unimaginable. Stapp is a steroid using alcoholic.

Do not go to their shows! Lamest band on the planet.

And all you Creed fans out there, go Fuck yourself. Dick eaters!

Scrunchy | 5/1/2009, 11:47 am EST

Creed, Nickleback, Godsmack, 3 Doors Down, Disturbed…its all the same monotone, low iq, right wing, meathead music for high school bullies and dumb frat kids. Pearl Jam was an ordinary band at best in the middle of true alternative rock (Jane’s Addiction, Butthole Surfers), but at least Eddie Vedder had heart. This other crap was birthed in boardrooms by guys waiting to jump on the next big thing, which unfortunately was PJ and STP. People said Molly Hatchet and Foghat were just as important as Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin back in the 70’s. Anyone still agree? No, because Molly Hatchet and Foghat were the same crap as Creed and their “buzz” brethren.

trip with teacher | 5/1/2009, 12:05 pm EST

I bet if Scott Stapp wasn’t successful, he would have had a couple kids and had them home schooled with a fat Christian wife. He’d have his one daughter tied up in the basement as a playmate. And every Sunday he would go to church and would pray, and it would be alright.

ONLY IN AMERICA
SEXUALITY IS DEMOCRACY

I wonder if Scott Stapp enjoys Obama? I have a feeling that Scott’s the type that worships the confederate flag. Yer haw

Creed are the smegma of music

AnonyMoose | 5/1/2009, 12:17 pm EST

It amazes me that so many people care enough to hate. Music is supposed to make you feel good. If it doesn’t, then move along.

I’m not personally a Creed fan, but it doesn’t bother me that they exist, nor that people like them.

Whatever you dig, dig it, baby.

drooping 'gina | 5/1/2009, 12:21 pm EST

I’m so ready for Creed to come to PA. I hope they come to Central PA. We LOVE Creed here! We love hunting, racing, and most importantly God. And good hard rock. I think Scott would like my white supremacist tattoo, but it’s under my stonewarshed jeans. You get a free pass at my toothless mouth as well, Scott. Support the troops!
love,

Would never even consider myself a “casual” fan. Never cared for them, personally. Sad thing is, there’s people that by into the bands (or Stapp’s, should I say) rhetorical b***s***! These are the same people that buy into anything corporate America has to throw at them. Sad thing is, they’ll never really, truely buy into a real musical experience. Don’t waste your money on a Creed reunion. Rather, go support your local Symphony. The people that are your TRUE musicians and can’t hide behind the almighty dollar! If not the Symphony, at least your local bands. There’s bound to be a Creed-cover band in your backyard…sadly enough!

Time to “Tap into America”!

eatapeach10 | 5/1/2009, 1:10 pm EST

Tremonti couldn’t hold Derek Truck’s jock. Anyone who says he’s the best guitarist out today has BLINDERS on! Ask EC himself…don’t see Tremonti at any Crossroads fesitvals shredding that 6-string, do ya? I’ll even put Mayer up there before Tremonti. Can write a hook? Sure. Greatest guitarist? Not even on the radar.

StappTeabags | 5/1/2009, 1:38 pm EST

This is a derivative, knock off band that sucks, blows, and tea bags.

They are the one of the worst bands ever.

Creed fans don’t get it. No one is jealous of Creed. They suck and their music is offensive the ears.

It’s not personal. This band just sucks.

Wow | 5/1/2009, 1:51 pm EST

Hmm…seems the point has been proven. If this news can generate so many comments, seems people are still interested. Thier ticket sales will also prove that.

Not sure who said it, but if you don’t like them don’t listen, music is supposed to make you happy. If you are angry there is music for that as well, find it.

Lastly, Mark Tremonti is a very good guitarist, I would not say legend at this point but very good. Also, he doesn’t really have a place at the Crossroads fest, though if he went I’m sure he could hold his own just fine. Do you see Kirk Hammett or Zakk Wylde at Crossroads? No. Now bring on the hate of Kirk and Zakk as I know all you haters will do.

Charles U. Farrlley | 5/1/2009, 2:03 pm EST

Creed is better than Kirk and Zakk.

The Bottle | 5/1/2009, 2:11 pm EST

StappsTeabags | 5/1/2009, 2:18 pm EST

This band of losers needs to just go away. Greed is a good name for them. They had their 15 minutes. They came, they sucked, they sold lots of records to mentally challenged people, and they left.

They need to stay away. This band sucked in their prime. How are they not going to suck now?

Joe TCS | 5/1/2009, 2:22 pm EST

I enjoyed Creed when I was younger, but have slowly grown away to listen to indie music. I do think the amount of flak they get is unfair. They were by far the best post-grunge band that emerged in the late-’90s and by far better than any mainstream rock band out there today. It’s also unfair to compare them to Pearl Jam just because Scott Stapp’s voice is very similar to Eddie Vedder. There is hardly any band out there that is completely original. Pearl Jam, and grunge music in general, is wildly overrated. I probably will go to their concert just for nostalgic purposes.

CrystalSpyder4 | 5/1/2009, 3:10 pm EST

Here we go: an unnessarily reunion by an utterly worthless band.

Creed is a band for those who ask for very little out of music…who are so tuned out of what is actually happening in rock. You’ve got to figure many of these fans maybe used to buy 1-3 albums a year, and probably can’t rattle off the names of too many more bands than that.

Creed, along with Pearl Jam, are sadly influential for some of the most tiresome excuses for hard rock bands of the past decade-plus.

The VM | 5/1/2009, 3:32 pm EST

It’s so nice to see believers in Christ doing well in the secular marketplace. They set such a good example. And for the record, Stapp and Kid Rock weren’t gangbanging that chick on their tour bus, they were ‘gang-ministering’… to her vagina, apparently.

The joy that I get from watching religious charlatans eventually showing their true colors is boundless.

So welcome back, Creed!

GForce | 5/1/2009, 3:41 pm EST

Creed is amazing.
listen to nickelback then to creed and youll appreciate that Creed actually plays music.

Anonymous | 5/1/2009, 3:46 pm EST

the original band name for Creed was Naked Toddler.

can I say more?

tony | 5/1/2009, 3:48 pm EST

The hell with all the groaning pearl jam rip off bands already…
The only that should have had more days in the sun were Seven Mary Three. They had some roots rock influences…

Creed? please

tony | 5/1/2009, 3:49 pm EST

Also, It made me a little sad when Chris Cornell started singing lower instead of his powerful falsetto…

Stapp rips em all off.

Choadrunner | 5/1/2009, 4:05 pm EST

Vedder is the King, long live the King.

This band i shocking, really is. I like Alter Bridge as well, I just find it amazing how how far one man (Stapp) can bring down his fellow bandmates and make them suck balls. He is a Joke.

Anonymous | 5/1/2009, 4:13 pm EST

God sucks, and so does Creed.

Ridiculous... | 5/1/2009, 4:37 pm EST

Eddie Vedder has more musical talent in one of his Sunday morning beer shits than anyone in Creed has in their entire bodies.

Creed is horrendous. FACT.

Alter Bridge is garbage. FACT.

But I’m sure Rolling Stone will put them on the cover just like all the other bullshit musicians or bullshit celebrities they choose to give the spotlight to.

Seriously, this country sucks.

Green Day Isn't Punk | 5/1/2009, 4:44 pm EST

Scott Stapp wishes he was Jim Morrison. He comes off as complete tool. Creed’s music is generic and boring.

CREED RULES!!!!!!! | 5/1/2009, 5:13 pm EST

the 90s fail! | 5/1/2009, 6:17 pm EST

Eddie Vedder and Chris Cornell should keep making albums with Justin Timbarlake.

WORST GENERATION EVER! | 5/1/2009, 6:24 pm EST

I totally agree, Does anyone really think that the new generation find Pearl Jam radical or cool at all?

The 90’s were are farse, I mean just look at Smashing Pumkins or Cornell, making pop albums with Hanson and Timbarlake and the washed out Eddie Vedder working for the Hollywood industry.

“We’re so real, we’re so alternative, we don’t care about been famous, turn off those lights this is not a TV studio”

PLEASE!!!

Anonymous | 5/1/2009, 6:32 pm EST

Boris Dignan was right. ‘Holy suffering baldheaded’ indeed! Can I join the shitstorm? I hope I’m not too late to contribute to the white noise of opinion about Creed and Pearl Jam.

WORST GENERATION EVER! | 5/1/2009, 6:33 pm EST

“Soundgarden wasn’t a derivative band of hacks?”

This was Chris Cornell at the office of the biggest recording studio in the Industry:

“Please Timbaland produce my album, I need to have relevance with the American idol generation, may be you can talk to Justin Timbarlake or Rhianna to come alone, I need a hit so bad, please!”

Not even the 80’s were as hypocrite generation as the 90’s generation, FACT.

Vic Mackey | 5/1/2009, 7:38 pm EST

To “the 90s fail!”

Eddie Vedder never made any albums with Justin Timberlake, you fucking clown. Are you serious?

Chris Cornell just made a terrible album with Timbaland.

Good lord, it sickens me how stupid some of you people are. It’s fucking scary.

Creed.... How embarrassing | 5/1/2009, 7:45 pm EST

Creed sucks. I’d rather count the wrinkles on my dogs balls than hear anything about this awful group of “musicians.”

Anonymous | 5/1/2009, 9:02 pm EST

90’s generation are a reflection of their parents, a bunch of spoiled brats who now caused the entire economy to be in the toilet. All i need to listen to are MetallicA and the Foo Fighters, 99% of other bands/artists suck.

Sister Marie | 5/1/2009, 9:09 pm EST

Thank the Lord tht Scott Stapp has found the Light.
I am a Jehova Witness, and shouldn’t really be listening to this type of music, but I enjoyed Creed, before my conversion, and I will stay true to Scott & Creed. They are destined to help the downtrodden & sick, they are a Blessing to the Music Industry, with Scott’s new found religious freedom permeating his music.
The masses will flock to anything that Mr.Stapp puts out.
It is a Glorious Day!!!

GLAD to see CREED Back!!! | 5/1/2009, 9:15 pm EST

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Because of all the genres, we are able to listen to what WE AS INDIVIDUALS WANT TO LISTEN TO! If you don’t like CREED, that is your right. However, slamming them is bullshit! If they sucked as much as alot of you say they did, and some saying “What Fans?”….how did they manage multi-platinum status with THEIR FIRST SINGLE?? You have a right to be haters but don’t knock those of us who ARE FANS and are more then happy to see them back!!

Nick | 5/1/2009, 9:30 pm EST

Creed definitely won’t be on the same level they were when they were at their late 90s/early 00s peak. While time has been kinder to them than to Limp Bizkit (who are as big of a punchline as Poison or Winger now) they’ve still taken quite a beating, especially Scott Stapp, since they split.

Creed’s legacy since splitting has been used as the example of what went wrong with rock radio during the Clear Channel coup and “hey remember that band who sounded like Pearl Jam with the Jesus rock lyrics?”

I’m sure rock radio programmers simultaneously had orgasms on themselves when they heard the news, and they’ll be played every 6 songs on rock radio again. But they won’t burn up the charts. Rock music still sucks but it has moved on from Creed in the past 7 years.

Doug | 5/1/2009, 10:27 pm EST

We need a rock revolution again…I welcome them back. I am sick, sick, sick of the TI/Kanye garbage that keeps getting pushed down our throats.

Let’s get back to rock…finally.

Tam1969 | 5/1/2009, 10:41 pm EST

I’ve been a huge Mark Tremonti fan for almost a decade. He is a guitar genius and makes incredible music whether it’s Creed or Alter Bridge. I will support him in whatever he pursues. I am not thrilled about Seeing Stapp again. I was a huge Creed fan and continue to love the music that they made. I hope he’s fought his demons and can sucessful again. I’ve become a huge fan of Myles Kennedy after seeing him twice with Alter Bridge. He’s the real deal. He’s the best rock singer that I’ve seen in concert. I wish nothing but the best for both bands.

c’mon guys i love pearl jam and all rock dating back to the beatles. these guys rock!!!!!

Greg | 5/2/2009, 12:30 am EST

Yes, they are generic in a way, but after seeing them twice, I can say they kick ass live, and they sound good blasting in a car, which in the end is all that matters. And they have some of the best choruses ever.

Shamrock | 5/2/2009, 12:38 am EST

I don’t listen to Creed but who cares? If you don’t like them, then don’t listen, no one is forcing you.

90s credibility is over. | 5/2/2009, 12:40 am EST

Chris Cornell’s New Single ‘Take Me Alive’ Feat. Justin Timberlake (produced by the same guy that produce Britney Spears and Paris Hilton).

Smashing Pumkins are teaming with Hanson.

Eddie Vedder is playing the Hollywood game.

Radiohead are kissing the Grammys ass.

That’s the biggest sell out of any generation in history.

Any 90s fanatic that is willing to give them a free pass is a hipocrite.

Bill | 5/2/2009, 2:19 am EST

Anyone who likes Pearl Jam obviously lacks intelligence, especially musical intelligence.

The 90’s sucks!

IT'S A FACT | 5/2/2009, 2:20 am EST

Funniest comment so far:

This was Chris Cornell at the office of the biggest recording studio in the Industry:

“Please Timbaland produce my album, I need to have relevance with the American idol generation, may be you can talk to Justin Timbarlake or Rhianna to come alone, I need a hit so bad, please!”

Not even the 80’s were as hypocrite generation as the 90’s generation, FACT.

man! | 5/2/2009, 2:24 am EST

After the ex-Soundgarden incident I hear Pearl Jam is looking forward to record with Justin Timbarlake too.

Come on alternative generation, the 80’s sucks, right?

EVERY GENERATION SELLS OUT | 5/2/2009, 7:23 am EST

To the IT’S A FACT/90′S SUCK person:

Every generation of musicians attempt to stay relevant by catching the next big consumer wave. Your whining about the 90’s crowd is just that. Examples:

80’s Stars like Motley Crue donning goatees for 1997’s GENERATION SWINE album; Metallica’s move away from the early work; Rob Halford hooking up w/Trent Reznor to try Industrial music, and Bon Jovi using a boy band producer for the song “It’s My Life” in 1999 (I think 99? not sure).

Don’t feel bad about it though, if you are an 80’s fan. I like a lot of stuff from both the 80’s & 90’s. Consider them in relation to all the artists from the 60’s screaming about revolution, but who ended up doing disco records a decade later: The Stones, Rod Stewart, the Grateful Dead, etc. There are piles of alleged “classic rockers” who willingly “went disco” for a hit.

Hey you mean spirited FOOLS! -how can you NOT love Scott Stapp.
His “REBIRTH” is an inspiration to all of us!
I just read where he also has political aspiration.
Scott Stapp can lead us all to the Pomised Land! and, if he is serious, can offer us a lot more than this current administration.
I take Mr.Stapp at his word.

At what point do we “delete the off-topic comments”??

Somehow bashing Chris Cornell has everything to do with Creed doing a reunion tour??

Let’s re-cap, for those playing along at home.

Creed sold 25 million albums, is a fully functioning rock band and yet somehow, they “suck”.

Rap is music.

“The 90’s” was the worst generation of music “ever”.

Anything that doesn’t bash Christianity outright must be verbally admonished.

Rolling Stone loves Eddie Vedder because he sides with them politically, and that also means he somehow gets both bashed and praised in a conversation about CREED??

Wow. This is amazing.

violntblu | 5/2/2009, 10:58 am EST

All the whining about Rock Bands’ crdibility is like pretending that your vote or political party really means anything. Just judge individual albums based on their merit. Consider it a moment captured in time and forget the band or who the singer is or what they say in some sad promotional interview. In this case though, Creed has yet to put forth any album that is truly honorable of any mention.

The only relatively well known artists that have never “sold out” that I can think of are PJ Harvey, Tom Waits, and Jonathan Richman. And by “sold out”, I’m referring to much more than just their musical choices. PJ Harvey and Tom Waits are the two most honest and beautiful artists in the world. They deserve to be loved in ways no other artists do. For being honest to themselves. Next to them the likes of Axl Rose, Bono, and Scott Weiland are no different than Scott Stapp. They are irrelevant whores

After getting near the bottom, maybe Scott Stapp has cleaned up his act and has some humility. Whether you like Creed or not, they have some great hits. Their not a ground breaking band, but they probably don’t claim to be. As for the Pearl Jam comparison, yeah, they probably do have some similarities. I can’t stand Eddie Vedder, I think he is pretty self-absorbed, and as much as I don’t understand how some people think their great, I think they have some good tunes as well. If you don’t like Creed, don’t go see them. Apparently 25 million in sales means their doing something right.

FourTenths of Truth | 5/2/2009, 4:33 pm EST

First off, album sales mean nothing. Britney Spears has sold a lot of albums and her music is a joke, as is Creed’s music.

When you get a band as terrible as this selling a lot of music, it only proves how bad people’s taste in music is.

Creed was one of the most talked about bands of the 90’s, but not in a good way. They were hated back then as much as they are now.

Anonymous | 5/2/2009, 6:00 pm EST

for real, Stapp singing The National Anthem on you tube(theres like 3 different versions!) and messing up the words is hilarious.

Creed, thanks for the comeback. I laughing so hard.

jeff | 5/2/2009, 6:46 pm EST

Creed are the Britney Fox of the 90’s(nice reference huh, anbody remember them, come to think of it Girls school was Abbey rd compared to anything creed put out). The only time I contemplated Suicide in my life was when I was Stuck working at a creed concert, I’m guessing the reason Bush got elected was because of this band and there hammy religious music, raping the mind of the youth of another disaffected generation, comparing them to fleetwood mac is a joke just as there music is. and I know its all opinion but Omar rodriguez lopez is the Iconic guitarist of this generation. Creed Is music For Idiots And thats exactly who they cater to, God is not the solution science is

If I were to take my cock and shove it up a diseased orangutans asshole and then pull it out and proceed to shove it up Bill O Reilly’s asshole and then cram my cock into a can of tuna fish then the stench from my penis would smell the same way as creeds music sounds. They try to pretend to be quasi christian rock but anyone with an internet connection will never forget scott and kid rocks sex tape with the groupies. “It’s Good to be King!” Wholesome family values there scott stapp. What A total Douchebag.

Well, the funny thing is that I seen the same shows Led Zep (77), The Who, The Stones, Floyd, Bowie, Prince (81 and 83), Metallica (85 and 88) etc. and the Pearl Jam show was really disappointing, in fact Tenacious D live is much, much better.

Nick | 5/3/2009, 1:32 pm EST

I hate it when people go “They make more money than you, so that means they’re better!”

No, it doesn’t. Quantity of money has absolutely nothing to do with quality. N’Sync, Limp Bizkit and Backstreet Boys hold the Billboard sales records, it doesn’t mean they weren’t awful.

The majority of music buyers (well, back when people paid for music) don’t love good music. They don’t explore anything past the top 40 of their genre of choice. Whatever major labels put in front of them they accept.

This is why real music lovers get so frustrated and come off snobby to you. We view music as more than just background music of the moment (as seen by the poster who praised Creed as good music to play as background music in his car as praise.)

THIS IS 2009!! | 5/3/2009, 3:23 pm EST

Pearl Jam are freaking legendary? man you “alternative” boys are so stuck in the 90’s, Do you think grunge still relevant?, you need to turn around and look at the new era:

Kings Of Leon, the Dead Weather, MGMT, M.I.A.

Do you really think any young rock fan will find a band of pretentious, rubbed on your face modesty/honesty interesting? move on, Pearl Jam are the new Poison, even Posion looks cooler now then the depressive 90’s bands.

Wake up!

This is 2009 = idiot | 5/3/2009, 3:48 pm EST

This is 2009 – give Pearl Jam’s post grunge era albums or attend one of their live show and tell me that their music isn’t relevant. Ask Caleb Followill or Jack White if they are influenced and/or love Pearl Jam.

you are obviously an ignorant moron. Now go listen to your Mika album.

I totally agree with the comments of “THIS IS 2009″.

90’s bands and their fans were obsses with the idea that if you wear a t-shirt and jeans while acting like a tough macho you will have credibility, even worse insulting artists that embbrace glamour and style. But talent got nothing to do with image or sexual identity.

Whatta sad generation, now I understand Chris Cornell urge to evolve.

To the “A FACT FROM JACK WHITE” commenter:

I was interested in what you wrote about White knocking Nirvana/Pearl Jam in the Interview magazine article. I happen to like all three bands, and honestly wanted to read just what White found unappealing about them. When I looked it up, there was nothing in the article at all knocking either band. In fact, the comments made by White & Brendan Benson (believe that’s his name) are actually quite concilitory toward Nirvana.

Perhaps it is in fact in a different issue. However, I did find one w/Kate Moss on the cover, and 7 pages devoted to the Raconteurs, so I’m pretty sure that’s the one you were referencing. If in fact I am wrong about this, please let me know which issue it was. I’d appreciate it very much.

Face it, as much as you like Pearl Jam that doesn’t mean anything to this and the next generation, the 90’s are over man.

Creed are back together because this is the only way they get to headline. Myles Kennedey may be a more talented singer, but it doesn’t mean anything. Windup records buried Alter Bridge in the US, and then dropped them. The new label gave them NO push in the states. Why? So the the Creed cash cow can be milked.

Wanna hear something even funnier? Who would you rather have fronting Velvet Revelover? Scott Stapp or Myles Kennedy?

Anonymous | 5/4/2009, 1:01 am EST

50’s white youth stole rock n roll from blacks and made it mainstream. 60’s pretentious hippies took it further with experimentation, but still it was real. 70’s + 80’s music became too progressive lost its focus or too cheesey and excessive over the top. 90’s it became too mainstream and commercialized. The last good period of music in my opinion was late 70’s until the early 90’s Punk, Hardcore, Underground Early Alternative. Arguing over whether music ten to fifteen years ago is better or worse than today is a good one, but sides are just following trends. The 90’s crowd listened to what MTV and alternative radio gave them and todays listens to what the internet (spin magazine + bloggers) and hipster festivals give to them.

jeff | 5/4/2009, 1:14 am EST

its interesting. Limp Bizkits reunion didnt didnt seem to cause so much of a stir but people love to love and love to hate Creed all the same. It makes alot more sense for the fans to show up and express their excitment for the return of a beloved group, but the haters? That means many of you really do get so mad and either have nothing better to do or make a serious priority out of coming on just to sling some shallow hatred.

Hey, heres a novel idea. If you dont like Creed, then just dont listen to em. No ones forcing you to leave the radio on, buy the record or go to the concert. No one forced you on this comment page either, but here you are.

When bands I dont like do things I dont even know about it. I dont like em, so I dont pay attention. Hating takes too much time and energy.

But I guess you’ve got lots of room to trash talk and negatively critisize, what with all your platinum records sitting on the shelf behind you.

Anonymous | 5/4/2009, 2:04 am EST

Metallica is the best band in the world. They are the only band that were able to survive and be relevant after the 80’s hair metal, 90’s grunge and 2000’s emo/disney trends. Hope they hit the studios again next year and put out the follow up to Death Magnetic!!!!

Metallica, really? | 5/4/2009, 2:36 am EST

Do you think the young generation find Metallica radical or hip?

Listen old farts, when you find yourself defending a 20 year old rock band it’s a sign that you are stuck in the past, don’t confuse legendary status or good reputation with relevance.

Sure lots of people want to see live bands like the Stones or Pearl Jam, so we can say I saw them once, good show etc. but their new music doesn’t mean s*** to the new generation, their music is out of touch, that’s a fact.

Like it or not Pearl Jam sucks and Metallica too, they turn into a cartoon of themselves and no longer deliver it.

If you really are a Rock fan you will evolve and apreciate the new values of Rock, if you wanna keep talking about how good was “Ten” or “Masters of Puppets” then you are turning into your grandpa.

in my opinion | 5/4/2009, 3:40 am EST

let me list why I think the late 70’s til the early 90’s were the best period of music. Bruce Springsteen, Tom Waits, Patti Smith, Early R.E.M., early U2, The Clash, The Ramones, The Sex Pistols, Talking Heads, Black Flag, David Bowie, Bad Brains, Melvins, early Metallica, ton of speed metal bands, early hip hop, Beastie Boys, Pixies, Sonic Youth, Butthole Surfers, Pavement, and ending when the mainstream started capitalizing on bands like Nirvana and cloning alot of radio friendly similar bands and making the alternative mainstream. That’s part of the reason guys like Stapp are villainized for having bad taste and pouring his heart out whether it’s fake or not and trying to be “deep” and a rock hero too and at the same time the rest of the people who have moved on or never were there and enjoyed that anyways have elevated someone like Karen O. and made her the new queen of rock because she is “aware” and actually cool in the minds of those people. And both sides will never get each other. The people who relate to Creed will always want those radio anthems to be the soundtrack of their lives and and find that cliche cheesey bravado to be what being “RAWK!” really is as they throw up the devil horns from the open window of their sports car or pickup and the people in the now who think those that like Creed are less evolved will always be bitter that the art form of music won’t be pushed forward in the way they want because radio won’t play their heroes and show their culture but instead keep promoting acts like Creed that have already appealed to the masses even if they aren’t doing anything new or uniquely creative.

in my opinion | 5/4/2009, 4:12 am EST

on another note I’m sure that these Seattle guys and these hardrock singers of the last decade never imagined when they got together and formed bands and thought they were gonna change music and the world that talent show contestants like every supposed “ROCKER” that they give some superstar makeover would try to sound so much like them and have them as their biggest influence and that these bar bands who have rode their formula which I don’t think they (the early 90’s rock bands) even set out to have all the way to way more successful careers and millions of continued album sells and press and even reunion tours of cashing in. Most of those old bands have broken up or barely chug along sadly while these acts who benefited from their sound and style still control the mainstream airways. I know when I turn on the radio or tv I hear all these bands that sound like Stapp played non stop and guys like Daughtry or other the others with the ROCKER style makeover pushed as the next big thing. I don’t hear or hardly ever see the beloved indie heroes and definitely not the forgotten pioneers of 90’s sound genre.

Cheesecrop | 5/4/2009, 7:45 am EST

Very interesting. My two cents worth:

I grew up in the 80’s AND 90’s. It always stuns me to hear blind allegiance to just one decade. I know of no one who just sticks by all the artists of a single decade, and I can recall artists I liked from the 80’s & 90’s. I like Pearl Jam AND Def Leppard, and don’t mind saying so.

That being said, I am thrilled to hear younger fans mentioning more modern bands. To all the younger fans out there, you have every right to trash Nirvana & Pearl Jam – AND Def Leppard & Guns N Roses. For that matter, if you feel like trashing the Beatles, the Stones, Zeppelin, etc. go right ahead. They are as lame as the stuff I remember loving, and as young fans you shouldn’t feel indebted to anything from the past regarding rock.

I do remember those times, and I do have fond memories of them – and yes, I do have a few memories of Creed as well, though I never thought they were the absolute greatest. They were alright, I guess. I like a few of their songs. Anyway, I’m thrilled to hear finally that their are new groups kicking in, and I hope you go out of your heads like I did over the Def Lep’s & the Pearl Jam’s of years past. You ladies & gents are in charge now, and I’m anxious to hear what you’ll bring to the table!

Have you listened to The White Stripes at all? Their music is very similar to Nirvana in many ways.

A Fact from Jack White? | 5/4/2009, 9:41 am EST

Stop thinking about generation, time, age and listen to the music. I’m a poduct of the 90’s but I love KOL, MMJ, TV on the Radio, The Raconteurs, Arcade Fire and many the “newer” bands out there. However, I still love Pearl Jam because of their music, not what they represented in the 90’s!

I do not like Mika because of the music, not his sexual orientation, style, or attitude.

Don’t compare bands. Everyone will obviously be biased towards what they’ve listened to the most.Don’t dish bands just to make a point and seem cool here.I love so many rock bands and they all have something unique to offer. Though I got to say Creed is an exception.

My opinions | 5/4/2009, 11:13 am EST

1. Post-grunge sucks
2. Creed Sucks
3. Original grunge was OK
4. Nirvana was awesome
5. The 80s did not suck because of bands like Sonic Youth, the Pixies, and REM
6. Indie Rock is awesome
7. The person who keeps writing about Chris Cornell & Justin Timberlake is an idiot. (Its TIMBALAND)
8. The same person is an idiot also because Eddie Vedder was in the movie Singles before Mookie Blaylock became Pearl Jam, so him being in Hollywood is nothing new.
9. The very same person is an idiot also because James Iha FORMERLY OF the Smashing Pumpkins is teaming up with a FEW members of Hanson. The two bands are not getting together.

go creed! | 5/4/2009, 12:33 pm EST

wow. what’s all the hateration?
yikes. how about making a judgement call AFTER you hear the new cd?

let the past be the past. what if YOU were judged for all of YOUR past mistakes constantly?

NOT COOL.

I look forward to something brilliant.

PS to Creed: Please make sure it doesn’t suck. There’s WAY too much of that out there today.

T.B. | 5/4/2009, 12:45 pm EST

Hey Metallica really,

You are a douchebag. Metallica and Pearl Jam are very relevant today and do “bring it”. Go listen to Jonas Brothers or whatever that shitty band Pete Wentz is in and then go f*ck yourself.

Real Music | 5/4/2009, 12:52 pm EST

Creed Rocks and so does Stapp. Glad to hear they have reunited. Looking forward to the Tour and New Album! As far as I’m can see haters are a sure sign your famous! Not only are the people who love Creed/Scott Stapp paying attention but people who don’t like ‘em are paying attention too! no matter if it’s good or bad, it’s still everyone paying attention!

His Prince Michael | 5/4/2009, 1:15 pm EST

……And, Metallic is not The Clash. And, The Clash isn’t Rick James. And, Rick James isn’t Led Zeppelin. And Led Zeppelin isn’t
Joni Mitchell. And Joni Mitchell
is not John Fogerty. And John
Fogerty isn’t Al Green.
Again…which, makes them ALL so
very, very COOL.

Stapp Is Satan | 5/4/2009, 1:37 pm EST

Let’s call this what it is – a cash grab. That’s really all the analysis this whole shitstorm calls for.

What a bunch of hateful ass negative
people we have in this world. Know wonder why the world is at war because of ignorant people like you. Try to enjoy this life we have or go live with the terrorists. You haters are not perfect. You make mistakes too. Learning from our mistakes makes us better people.Where words fail music speaks. God bless us all.

JerJams | 5/4/2009, 3:08 pm EST

Run a Google search for “Worst Band in the World” and the answer inevitably comes back Creed.

OVERLOOK | 5/4/2009, 3:29 pm EST

OK. The White Stripes and Nirvana are both great bands but are in very different parts of the field:

Nirvana- a very talented band focus on the Pixies, Sonic Youth, Melvins etc. with a depressive credo and a pretentious “I don’t wanna be a rock star” pose, the best example of the alternative cliche. Lead by a great songwriter, Kurt Cobain, a genius but egocentric freak, playing the “look at me how much I suffer, I won’t sell out” game, at the same time trashing esthetics and pop music, specially the 80’s, this band music and ideas are basically the 90’s credo.

Inspired: Creed, Bush, Silverchair, STP, Wolfmother, The Hives, Nickelback, Linkin Park, Radiohead, Muse etc.

White Stripes- a garage rock inspired band, with a genius behind it, Jack White, a artist not afraid to embrace glamour and style while kickin’ it with a variety styles of music as Blue Grass, Country, Funk, Jazz, Metal and Pop.

A band not afraid to evolve and suport the new ideas and forms of music, no obsession against the industry or against Pop music here, probably the best example of anti 90’s philosopohy. Basically the 00’s credo.

Inspired: M.I.A., Kings Of Leon, The Killers, Beck, MGMT, Wolfmother, The Kills, Off Montreal, Block Party, Arcade Fire, Mars Volta, Radiohead etc.

ANSWER. | 5/4/2009, 3:46 pm EST

To “my opinions” comments:

1. Post-grunge sucks because grunge sucks.

2. Creed Sucks because grunge sucks.

3. Original grunge was a bunch of so called artists preaching about been real and honest while at the end they all sell out and they are the industry now. Hipocrites.

4. Nirvana was good and pathetic at the same time, What’s wrong with havin a good time?

5. The 80s did not suck because of bands like Gary Numan, Prince and the Revolution, Duran Duran, Devo, New Order, U2, Love and Rockets, Siouxie and the Banchees, Guns and Roses, REM not just Sonic Youth and the Pixies, by the way this last two very unknow during the 80s.

6. Indie Rock is awesome if your name is not The Strokes.

7. The person who keeps writing about Chris Cornell & Justin Timberlake is not a idiot, actually he is right, New Chris Cornell Featuring Justin Timberlake in “Take me alive” track.

8. “The same person is an idiot also because Eddie Vedder was in the movie Singles before Mookie Blaylock became Pearl Jam, so him being in Hollywood is nothing new.”

You are right on this one, Eddie Vedder was a sell out before there was a Pearl Jam.

9. If a member of any band joins with another band to make a new band, it’s a mix up of both bands, best example, Smashing Pumkins meets Hanson.

theman | 5/4/2009, 4:57 pm EST

to put creed in the same sentence as pearl jam is a crime.
creed and nickleback are the same band. (ever seen them together at the same time?)
Pearl Jam has stayed out of the spotlight for a reason …cause they are great! screw the radio, mtv and the jackasses who buy into it!

OVERLOOK is an idiot | 5/4/2009, 6:44 pm EST

The White Stripes inspired MIA, Radiohead, the Killers, and the Mars Volta?!?!? WTF? When?

Anonymous | 5/4/2009, 7:51 pm EST

Metallica out of touch? That’s why they sold close to 600,000 copies of their album in 3 days (it was released on a Friday) and was #1 on billboard for 3 straight weeks. There has only been a couple constants in music for the past 25 years and one of them is Metallica.

The Eck | 5/4/2009, 8:14 pm EST

Creed is my favorite group ever! Why don,t people just relax and enjoy there music! I live in philly and a lot of people are excited!

Moobyj | 5/5/2009, 2:06 pm EST

There’s nothing wrong with this. Hell, New Kids on the Block are touring again why can’t Creed.

As for all this talk of the generations of music, relevance and who’s dick’s bigger. That’s all bullshit. Relevance is just a dollar sign away and I don’t care which era of music a band or performer is from. The bottom line is who fucking sells it now! Know that and you’ll find your relevance. Anyone wanting to argue over artistic merits is a fucking loon. People like what people like. There’s no amount of technical logic gonna change that.

Personally, I hate Creed. But it doesn’t hurt my feelings that Creed want to make another stab at it. Why condemn the effort? If you hate them then it has nothing to do with you. They don’t give a fuck about your hatred. They don’t want your love now. Just let the people who enjoy that shit, enjoy that shit!

John | 5/5/2009, 4:14 pm EST

So many people don’t like Creed, but so many do. They were a tremendously popular band that I think just got played out. Back in the day, you couldn’t listen to a rock station in my town without hearing them twice an hour. All the local bands covered them. Most of the other musicians I know give them alot of credit. They deserve it. Creed rocked. I look forward to hearing some new stuff.

Abi | 5/5/2009, 6:14 pm EST

Hey Creed Fans,

Watch Creed being interviewed tonight(5/5/09) on Fox News’s show — Red Eye airs at 3am(EST)

Enjoy!

I’m indifferent about creed. don’t like, but no hate.

The Bridge Stands Strong!!!

Alter Bridge always!!!

Myles Kennedy is simply AMAZING!

Jack White never said that | 5/6/2009, 7:58 am EST

I’m Jack White fan and I’m pretty sure that Jack never said such a thing like that about Pearl Jam and Nirvana. Because he said in one interview that he liked Kurt when he was young. He said that he was gonna go see Nirvana gig but the venue had the worst sound problem that he was gonna see them next time but he couldn’t- since Kurt was dead.

Anonymous | 5/6/2009, 11:03 pm EST

So Creed may be ultra lame but you can’t tell me you don’t all get drunk and sing the words at the bars when they come on. Or that you haven’t owned a Creed CD in your life.

Guess what. Pearl Jam blows monkey balls and so does Metallica. If I had the choice of making out with Scott Stapp or listening to an entire Pearl Jam album I’d probably rather die.

Aaron.D, I can quite easily put Human Clay “up there” with superunknown. I own both and they both have some excellent songs and some very uninspired ones.

In my opinion if you can hate Creed this much with some of the other crap out there, you are seriously lacking judgement.

Creed was a very good band. I hope Scott has his shit together. I saw them in concert once, and they put on 1 hell of a show. Nickleback is also a very good band. Why don’t you people who hate Creed, just lay off. Your just jealous because you don’t have the money that either band has. So, get over it. If you hate Creed that much, why don’t you all try to even be a band. This is why the world is so messed up. Because of all the people who HATE!!!!

Black Hole Sun | 5/10/2009, 12:40 am EST

Google “Worst band in the world” and Creed comes up as a result. Seriously, I’m not kidding. Google it and you’ll fall over laughing.

Creed Rocks- thank God a band that writes about something with substance! Who cares about their drama within the band- long as they keep rocking and making good stuff-

Jon | 5/14/2009, 9:05 pm EST

Look at all the lovers and the haters..all passionate about creed one way or another. Can’t wait to see em in nj this summer. they kick ass.. F ‘ all the haters

Scott sucks! Can’t believe the Mark and the guys agreed to a tour. Myles Kennedy has it ALL OVER Scott. I’ve since purchased some Mayfield Four CD’s, and have decided that he replaced Geoff Tate as my favorite singer. Please don’t break up!!!

B straub | 6/23/2009, 8:10 pm EST

Creed was really great in 5th and 6th grade (2002 ish); thats when i saw them live.. At one specific point in the show i remember Stapp (on his knees atop a special fx flame bridge above the drum set) singing some self prophetic jargon, (me singin’ along) and it hit me__ “damn this is definitely not cool” – thought my 11 year old psyche. Im proud to say ive been Creed Free since ‘02!!
Sleep and Kyuss Reunion tour 2010!! Stoner Rock yea__
Quasi-Christian power Rock NEVER!

Sam | 7/4/2009, 10:13 pm EST

I am in the Creed camp here. I don’t feel like writing anything else. I just wanted to put that out.

Who? What? Where? | 7/12/2009, 12:01 am EST

Trying to talk to most people online about any kind of mainstream popularity today, be it music or any other trade is virtually pointless. Let us not forget the web was invented by individuals with nothing better to do than sit around all day in greasy hair and pajamas…An entire genre defined by shitty vocals three chord progressions, chuck taylor’s and flannel!

Grunge sucked a** and I’m glad it’s gone, lets hope it stays there!!! I would rather grind my face on the pavement at 75 mi an hour than listen to some whiny, three cord playing punk with a daddy complex!

Creed was one of very small handful of bands in that era that made something relevant, without them… Soundgarden, Alice in Chains and a few other bands that decade would be forgettable at best!

Come on guys it’s been a long long time since daddy left, let it go now!!!

Rich_drummer | 7/15/2009, 12:09 am EST

Wow, there are plenty of haters out there… Its so unfortunate – their music had so much sweat and blood and genuine emotion. It is so powerful (I am talking about human clay and my own prison here). Ya, Stapp is a little… messed? Perhaps a little preachy? He’s had his (many) rough times and is definitely no role model, but there is alot of people that will agree with me that his music is unreal. Ive enjoyed his music since 2000 and haven’t gotten sick of it. Heck, human clay is 11x platinum and 1x diamond… that speaks to something doesn’t it?

BenJAh | 7/30/2009, 7:16 am EST

Creed were awesome so were Alterbridge but i must admit i love the fact Creed are back i grew up on bands like them…. now is a great time for NU-Metal fans (trust me alot still exist) & general rock fans of the 90s.

Steffie | 9/4/2009, 7:31 pm EST

Hi guys. Writing gives you the illusion of control, and then you realize it’s just an illusion, that people are going to bring their own stuff into it.
I am from Belize and bad know English, give please true I wrote the following sentence: “Some radical hsx securities regret future stores paid funds.”

THX :-D , Steffie.

Aricin | 9/8/2009, 4:11 pm EST

Give please. I don’t like composers who think. It gets in the way of their plagiarism.
I am from Grenada and bad know English, tell me right I wrote the following sentence: “When projects of make-up system, great minerals are regarded to prove, often.”

:-( Thanks in advance. Aricin.

Steve Sikora | 10/26/2009, 2:47 pm EST

LOL you know I like Creed’s work and influence, being a guitarist myself i can personally say Tremonti is a top notch player with real skill. Anyone who is posting negative comments about Creed and this reunion tell me, how many sold out shows have you played? How many headlining tours have you done? Hate all you want on Nickelback, Creed, Pearl Jam, STP or any of those bands but they ARE successful and make good music as far as i’m concerned. I have played a few live shows but playing a barroom and playing an arena like Creed has are two way different animals. Stapp had some issues yes, didn’t most successful bands? For those that remember, how about the Dokken break up of the 80’s? Same thing. Stapp seems to have wised up and realized that the band meant more to him than his booze or his ego. That gets a huge pat on the back from me. So after reading this and reflecting on your own accomplishments, tell me are you in a position to be a hater and say negative shit? I’d kill to play guitar in a band the same caliber as Creed, Nickelback or any of the others mentioned here.

dmc | 10/28/2009, 11:11 pm EST

I for one like Creed. I also like Pearl Jam, Alice In Chains, Nirvana, Soundgarden, Collective Soul….and many other bands. As well as some newer music as well (and screw the radio). For all those who call others some sort of name for liking a band, who the heck are you to judge? Not everyone is going to like what you like either, but I bet you’d think that that other person looked pretty stupid for saying that kind of thing without even knowing that specific person. It’s all pretty immature.
