Creed’s Scott Stapp Calls Reunion “A Renewing and a Rebirth”

4/27/09, 11:27 am EST

Five years after their highly acrimonious split, Creed are reforming for a new album and an American tour, which kicks off August 6th in Pittsburgh and runs through October 14th. “I wouldn’t call it a reunion,” says singer Scott Stapp. “It’s a renewing and a rebirth. I missed my boys and wanted to create music with them again. We’re all thrilled to have a second chance to make a first impression.”

(The ’90s are back! Look at who’s reuniting and returning here.)

The reconciliation began last December when Stapp reached out to Creed guitarist Mark Tremonti. They agreed to meet up at the Hard Rock Hotel in Florida before Stapp sang the “National Anthem” at the Champs Sports Bowl. “I was nervous, but also excited because I knew Mark would bring nothing but positivity,” says Stapp. “We exchanged family pictures and within 20 minutes we were jamming on acoustic guitars and talking about new songs.” They soon met up with drummer Scott Phillips and bassist Brian Marshall, who left Creed in 2000 but is returning for the new album and tour. “At that meeting we were collectively saying, ‘Hey man, I’m sorry if I hurt you or my choices did anything to cause you any pain. I have nothing but love and forgiveness for you and I hope you can forgive me. It’s all part of the process of reflection and not looking back at the six months out of 10 years that were trying.”

(Check out our collection of Creed photos.)

Stapp and Tremonti already have six demos for the new album, which they plan on recording shortly in Nashville. They are currently looking for a producer. “We’re reached out to Brendan O’Brien, Mutt Lange, Bob Rock, Steve Lillywhite and six or seven more,” says Stapp. “We want to put ourselves around the best and have them bring out the best in us and challenge us as artists.” The likely title track is “Full Circle.” “It’s a favorite for all of us,” says Stapp. “It really defines and articulates, melody-wise and lyrically, what’s happened with us. We’ve come full circle and it’s a great place to be. The goal is get release the first single before the tour and have the album come out during the tour or right after.”

What’s the status of Stapp’s long-in-the-works second solo disc? “I’m not really thinking about that right now,” he says. “It would be irresponsible for me to think about anything but Creed. This band is my first love and a first love that’s stood the test of time. It’s not hard to step away from any kind of personal agenda when you are totally fulfilled.”

This is by far the greatest news of the last decade? RIGHT?! right?…….

Hock Ptooey | 4/27/2009, 11:43 am EST

Only 1 California date.

Good.

jesus | 4/27/2009, 11:46 am EST

wow….i guess in this economy these frauds needed to make some quick cash…..

Danny | 4/27/2009, 11:46 am EST

I just hope this is somewhat of a farewell tour/ album. Alter Bridge is light years better than Creed, so I hope this is the OFFICIAL end of Creed, NOT AB.

phil | 4/27/2009, 11:52 am EST

really? I thought the AB Cd was close to being final. Really? Back w/Scott. Come On. AB is sooooo much better. The fact that Mark has Myles w/him playing guitar makes for a better all around band. What can Scott do but open his arms real wide. lame.

Josh | 4/27/2009, 11:53 am EST

NNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!

Anonymous | 4/27/2009, 11:55 am EST

Glad to see they’re not coming to Canada

Monte | 4/27/2009, 11:57 am EST

Oh well.. i don’t know what to think about it.. BUT ALTER BRIDGE ARE WAY TOO BETTER!

ALTER BRIDGE! ALTER BRIDGE! ALTER BRIDGE!ALTER BRIDGE! ALTER BRIDGE! ALTER BRIDGE!ALTER BRIDGE! ALTER BRIDGE! ALTER BRIDGE!ALTER BRIDGE! ALTER BRIDGE! ALTER BRIDGE!ALTER BRIDGE! ALTER BRIDGE! ALTER BRIDGE!

J Kensington | 4/27/2009, 12:14 pm EST

Ugh, most depressing news Ive heard all year. Is this really necessary? Are you that broke? Did you spend all your money at Hot Topic? I watched a story on gary heidnick this week that was more uplifting that this news. Creed please go away and make sure its forever this time.

Mike | 4/27/2009, 12:21 pm EST

Josh already beat me to the punch for a comment.

Ingo | 4/27/2009, 12:32 pm EST

Creed had some great songs… but not a single is better than ANY Alter Bridge song!!! So if that means the end of AB …or at least any negative influences on AB: Fuck off, Scott Stapp!!!

Casual By Stander | 4/27/2009, 12:33 pm EST

Isn’t this a sign of the apocalypse?

Chris | 4/27/2009, 12:34 pm EST

The swine flu apparently is an act of mercy on God’s part.

James | 4/27/2009, 12:36 pm EST

Quit saying Alter Bridge are better, Creed’s album Weathered makes Alter Bridge look like amateurs.

The Busta | 4/27/2009, 12:49 pm EST

Horrendous news – this clearly is the end for Alter Bridge

Danny | 4/27/2009, 12:49 pm EST

What are you smoking??

First off, it’s kind of funny how we are arguing that Creed is better than AB, or vise versa, cause 3/4’s of the members are in both bands. However, when it comes down to it, ALTER BRIDGE is a better band than Creed. Musically. They are an insane band.

Secondly, Mark Tremonti’s brother said this:

1) Alter Bridge are not breaking up.

2) After the Creed tour ends, Alter Bridge will go into the studio to record the third album.

3) Myles is totally cool with this. Mark, Brian and Flip would not do this if he had an objection. They love him like a bro. No drama whatsoever. No worries.

So that’s ok I guess.

Give them a feakin break | 4/27/2009, 12:51 pm EST

Creed is still a talented and powerful group. Why does everybody want to downplay and talk bad about something they can’t do..like sell 40 million records? Jealousy maybe?

Eric | 4/27/2009, 12:58 pm EST

Sounds like there is alot of hate out there.Dont like them dont listen…

Mike | 4/27/2009, 1:17 pm EST

Alter Bridge is bland. At least Creed has My Own Prison under its belt, and Weathered has two really solid songs.

Schultz | 4/27/2009, 1:29 pm EST

Never liked Stapp and never will. He wrote one good song for Creed (Torn) and it sounded like a Pearl Jam b-side. Alter Bridge with Miles are a far better band (and yeah, I know 3/4 of them are in Creed as well) – just a much better band, vibe, and songwriting with Miles instead of Stapp. Maybe he wants to get back together so he can hit on his band mate’s wives like he did with the 311 guys (and promptly got his ass beat).

rustyNail | 4/27/2009, 1:34 pm EST

yeah i cant believe only 1 freakin california date… all i know is ima getting my tickets the second they come out… hells yeah!

The Almighty God | 4/27/2009, 1:50 pm EST

This is why I sent down the swine flu! A pestilence on you all!

Jeff | 4/27/2009, 1:54 pm EST

Ewwwwwwww!! Ew ew ewww!

A second chance to make a first impression??? I’m sure Fred Durst and Vanilla Ice would say the same thing. Not bloody likely.

Gross.

Deanna | 4/27/2009, 2:02 pm EST

Say what you want but Scott Stapp is one hell of a singer! If you don’t like him shut your face and let the ones who do enjoy..got it?? Alter Bridge is ok but nothing compared to CREED!!!!!!

Felipe | 4/27/2009, 2:04 pm EST

Creed, welcome!

Xander | 4/27/2009, 2:32 pm EST

I know it’s easy to hate Creed but I will admit I enjoyed some of their songs, particularly before they became so overblown and replete with faux-spiritual imagery. I’d say, give them a chance.

egos | 4/27/2009, 2:58 pm EST

alter bridge is a better band. period. sorry…

Dee | 4/27/2009, 2:58 pm EST

Great news…BUT…I’m in love with Myles Kennedy! Does this mean he’s not as busy as he was and has time for me now? Marry me Myles!!

poserhater | 4/27/2009, 3:10 pm EST

What about Creed was good exactly? The Jesus posturing, the Mr. Ed-like vocals, what? They should’ve stayed gone and taken those Nickelback squids with them.

quentuckle | 4/27/2009, 3:11 pm EST

kill me now.

TEAM MYLES | 4/27/2009, 3:11 pm EST

MYLES KENNEDY RULES!!!!!

ALTER BRIDGE FOREVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nastrodamus | 4/27/2009, 3:13 pm EST

They shall jump into the ocean, seeking there true selves suck a man named west! The end is near!!

Draven | 4/27/2009, 3:17 pm EST

Hey all you fools stop smoking, Creed is the better Band. AB is good but be realistic, if they were better, than Creed would not be doing this (can make ALOT more money as Creed)and second, Compare records sold, and then the few of you holding on to that slim hope can just believe the lies you tell yourself, you may like AB more, but they are not the better band, See you in H-Town Creed, oh and there are 3 dates in TX

Sherm | 4/27/2009, 3:20 pm EST

Oh NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! When you have a singer like Myles Kennedy, WHY would you go back to Scott Stapp??? I NEVER liked Creed, but LOVED Alter Bridge! It was Stapp I disliked. Bad, bad move! I don’t think I can handle Scott Stapp again!

holyrocker | 4/27/2009, 3:21 pm EST

Scott Stapp is a messenger of God and all you unbelievers are going to burn in Hell.

Really? | 4/27/2009, 3:32 pm EST

Does anyone cares about the 90’s?

90s sucks! | 4/27/2009, 3:34 pm EST

What’s next? A Soundagarden reunion with new member Justin Timberlake?

Bryan | 4/27/2009, 3:41 pm EST

That’s cool. Creed had alot of good music. Hopefully both Creed and Alter Bridge can continue on.

Oh, and holyrocker, I wanna thank u for telling me that I’m gonna burn in a make-believe place.

Brian | 4/27/2009, 3:45 pm EST

Love the Creed vs. Alter Bridge argument. It’s like, would you rather be strangled or shot in the face?

Jonathan | 4/27/2009, 3:45 pm EST

I care about the 90’s. Its just Creed that I don’t give a shit about.

artifcialred | 4/27/2009, 3:53 pm EST

Too bad. This band sucks some serious ass!!! They should have stayed where I left them, for dead. Quite possibly the worst and shittiest band EVER!!!

artifcialred | 4/27/2009, 3:55 pm EST

Oh, and by the way, Alter Bridge sucks ass too!! What the hell is wrong with you people????

Creed Hater | 4/27/2009, 3:59 pm EST

Im still laughing three years later. Remember when 311 kicked the shit out of Scott for being such a fucking drunk asshole? And I think that there are some lawsuits still pending from the last Creed tour, because Scott was a drunk ass fool on stage, forgetting the words to his songs and passing out only like 3 songs into the set. Why would anyone support or think that this was a good idea? I say bring it on, bc it will give us RS readers more too laugh at years end!

The Hater | 4/27/2009, 4:04 pm EST

Creed may have sold 10 million albums but you know what??

Milli Vanilli sold 20 MILLION!! So that means Milli Vanilli RULE!! and Creed SUCKS!!

rob | 4/27/2009, 4:10 pm EST

Everyone always says they “hate Creed” or “Creed sucks”. Yet this band sells millions of albums and sells out stadiums.
They’re a great band, end of conversation.

Denise | 4/27/2009, 4:12 pm EST

Creed was the #1 band in sales & hits in the 90’s & early 2000’s,that is a fact! AB is a good band as well But Creed simply had something special.Stapp & tremonti made a unbelievable writing team writing hit after hit!.They are more mature & polished now, so I only expect them to be better than ever! AB will be back from what I here after the tour so AB fans don’t fear!…Music is what shapes the world…just sit back & enjoy man!,..Life is too short for wasted negativity.

Anonymous | 4/27/2009, 4:17 pm EST

Most of the reserved seats for this tour will cost $85+ fees. I hope and pray there will be half empty amphitheaters across the country, because of the GREED.

Don’t these idiots know we’re in a recession? Price your tickets accordingly, morons!

Anonymous | 4/27/2009, 4:21 pm EST

Since when does the number of albums sold account for a band being good or not?

Most people have no taste in music, and buy whatever crap the industry tells them to.

Intelligent people pick on Creed, because its simply true. They are awful. I don’t care how many millions of records they’ve sold. Sales statistics just confirm there are at least that many morons populating the Earth.

Jungleland2 | 4/27/2009, 4:23 pm EST

I think any band that takes 5 years off gets some sort of free pass based on Nostalgia.

The 80’s bands that had any chance of a comeback have taken their shot, so now it’s time for the great return of Grunge (and the Grunge-lite too!)

Should we be on the lookout for Sugar Ray, Limp Bizkit, Blink-182 tour / oldies show?

I’ll take The Black Crowes and Urge Overkill. You can have the rest

Art Ackerson | 4/27/2009, 4:31 pm EST

OK, anyone who knows music knows that Creed was an insanely commercial hit producer. Now, please don’t try to compare Alter Bridge to Creed.I hope this does not interfere with the release of Alter Bridge’s third album. Oh, and to clear it up Alter Bridge is the future while Creed is the past!! Hang in there Myles!

Wicked Celtics | 4/27/2009, 4:32 pm EST

This is the BEST news I’ve ever heard…in my entire life. The one band that actually improved people’s lives by giving them a second Christ to look up to and give true hope that life can be worth living! Scott Stapp will be remembered as the songwriter of our generation, not to mention easily the best SHOW of our Millinia! Even his National Anthem soars skyscraper height above Aretha’s inaugural rendition! I love Aretha, who doesn’t, but Scott dominates.

Officially,
Wicked Celtics
“Wicked C” if ya nasty

pinkflyd7 | 4/27/2009, 4:34 pm EST

Why do we get these reunions that nobody wants, rather than the ones we do like Zeppelin and Floyd?

frog leg | 4/27/2009, 4:36 pm EST

how much u wanna bet their new material is gonna sound like all their older songs?! boring and predictable…

Ryan | 4/27/2009, 4:58 pm EST

puke

Anonymous | 4/27/2009, 5:29 pm EST

FUCK!
I cant believe rolling stone, rock’n'roll’s premier magazine updates us on not only disney pop supper stars (JO Bros, Miley, Taylor Swift) and American Idol, but now resorts to informing us about the band that sits below nickelback in the worst bands of all time category.

Why dont you do some real fucking journalism and start uncovering new ghood bands for us and giving them a cover or a column.
FUCK CREED.

Dude Man | 4/27/2009, 5:33 pm EST

You know what, I’m going to say it. Creed were awesome. Everyone loves to make fun of them( even this magazine, who by the way put them on the cover once), but they have sold millions of albums, influenced alot of today’s bands, and still get radio play. Yes we all know Scott had more problems than Chris Brown, but he was a great singer. And for all the people who call them a Pearl Jam rip-off are sadly mistaken, every band has influences, early STP is similar to Pearl Jam but not the same. I love both STP and Creed and neither are rip-ofsfs.

Live they are great! | 4/27/2009, 5:34 pm EST

I saw Creed Live in ‘99 opening for Metallica… Metallica were great!

I really can’t wait to see them live again this tour, still talking about Metallica of course!

Anonymous | 4/27/2009, 5:34 pm EST

also to the asshole that said creed weas the voice of the 90s.. now i think if you look a little deeper you dipshit you would realize that most people consider kurt cobain the voice of the nineties. and eddie vedder, RATM, TOOL are all bands that are a thousand times better.

Give us a soundgarden reunion anything but fucking creed!!!!

Courdurnett | 4/27/2009, 5:49 pm EST

Creed and Nickleback are the 2 worst bands of all time!

JMA | 4/27/2009, 5:52 pm EST

Ya the only thing that could be worse than the announcement of a Creed reunion would if they announced Nickleback as the opener

nightschool | 4/27/2009, 5:54 pm EST

The DOORS of the 90’s? You must be joking or you know nothing about the mighty and ahead of their time Jim Morrison and the DOORS. Stapp wouldn’t be worthy to be a roady for them. A Pearl Jam wanna be band is the best I can do to describe Creed. One of the best t-shirts I ever saw was EVEN JESUS HATES CREED. Funny stuff. Love to all though…Enjoy the hype.

Scott | 4/27/2009, 5:57 pm EST

For me, there has never been anything like a Creed concert. I had an epiphany when I saw them in Dayton in 2000. Don’t care what the haters say.

Live they are great II | 4/27/2009, 6:01 pm EST

Scott, in Dayton were thay opening for Metallica? because men thay are good!! (yep still talking about Metallica)

Anonymous | 4/27/2009, 6:02 pm EST

creed fucking sucks. i just threw up.

nightschool | 4/27/2009, 6:03 pm EST

Sorry nipplefeeder. I didn’t see that you wrote the word joke there below your comment. I stand by my post though. The only Creed I need to know about is the one in confession. If I ever went. That one is for all of you Catholics out there.

Anonymous | 4/27/2009, 6:04 pm EST

anyone who thinks my own prison isn’t a great album is a complete idiot. this band was awesome before stapp had an ego-trip but if he has his head on right now i’m all for it….not like they have any competition right now from other bands.

nightschool | 4/27/2009, 6:07 pm EST

No hate here. Just the lords loving truth. I have asked HIM to forgive CREED for they know not what they do.

nightschool | 4/27/2009, 6:14 pm EST

Oh yeah anonymous, all of the other bands out there had better get out of the way for the earthshaking Creed. I’m sure they are all really worried. From a complete idiot. LOL

holyrocker | 4/27/2009, 6:26 pm EST

I’m calling on all good Christians to support this album and make it the best selling album of all time.
That will send a clear message to all those heathen Beatles worshippers that we did not evolve from monkeys.

jpd | 4/27/2009, 6:35 pm EST

Well, there you have it kids. Proof that there is no god.

If there were, bands like creed wouldn’t exist.

Luv Creed | 4/27/2009, 6:43 pm EST

Creed was an awesome band and were at the height of their career when Stapp hit rock bottom. Sounds like he learned a lesson or two. I’m looking forward to hearing their new songs. ROCK ON!!

Creed Lover | 4/27/2009, 6:49 pm EST

GREAT NEWS!! Woo Hoo! We love Creed and will be 1st in line for the G/A!!

Mo | 4/27/2009, 6:53 pm EST

What ever happened to ‘forgive and forget’? And…what makes anyone think that because the original members of CREED are reuniting for a tour and album, that it is the end for Alter Bridge – this is not the case! Sure, Stapp made some really bad decisions along the way, but if Mark, Brian & Flip are gonna do this thing, they certainly have my supportive! If you are not a fan, then it doesn’t really matter now does it? Being a CREED fan since 2002. I will continue to support no matter what!…always said I would…and now here we are with a CREED reunion…never thought I’d see the day! Looking forward to the shows and the record and for Alter Bridge’s third album! Myles Kennedy rules!! xoxo

frog leg | 4/27/2009, 6:56 pm EST

i cant believe theres people out there that think creed is that good of a band. they probably just listen to daytime radio or something equally lame. these guys write songs that are flooded with so much melody i get sik of them the first time i hear them.

Go VH! | 4/27/2009, 6:59 pm EST

Good for them. Who am I to criticize their decision to get back together? For all you elitist pieces of dog shit, Creed’s worst song is better than anything you douches could ever hope to create.

Anonymous | 4/27/2009, 7:24 pm EST

If Creed’s tour bus fell off a cliff, that would be fine by me.

Anonymous | 4/27/2009, 7:29 pm EST

This argument only serves to show how plain stupid the average Rolling Stone reader is. RS has been catering to the average person for about 20 years. They are no more culturally important than Cosmopolitan or any other smut magazine. Really, Creed getting back together shouldn’t even be mentioned by RS. There is nothing relevant about Creed other than a shoe-in placing on the list of the worst bands ever.

Poopstain | 4/27/2009, 7:31 pm EST

AND Creed are anything but Christian. They might say they are to capitalize on a demgraphic of easily manipulated bafoons. Like people that read Rolling Stone magazine

Anonymous | 4/27/2009, 7:35 pm EST

ok nightschool, go listen to kings of leon or whatever other flash in the pan band that’s on your ipod right now….fact is that creed was THE biggest band in America when they broke up.

nightschool | 4/27/2009, 7:38 pm EST

There is no doubt about the musical and vocal talents of the individuals in Creed. They can sing, play guitar, bass, drums, etc. and perhaps they write a few inspirational tunes for the ears of so called “Christian rockers” and some others. To each his own. However, they deserve no comparison to other groups within the same time frame nor will they be remembered for any contribution to the advancement of modern music.

Anonymous | 4/27/2009, 7:41 pm EST

im not rlly sure wat to think of this. creed r definitely sellouts, scott stapp is a terrible singer, the rest of the band sucks, but for some reason, i actually rlly like their songs. hahha im not even kidding. its gonna be interesting to see wat they now hav to offer

Czikk | 4/27/2009, 7:45 pm EST

Kings of Leon a flash in the pan?
I would suggest you broaden your horizons a little before you advise others to broaden theirs.

nightschool | 4/27/2009, 7:52 pm EST

I worrie about Scott Stapp. I believe he may have a Messiah complex. Unfortunately, he more resembles the fallen one. You all know who I mean. I wish redemption for him and a long healthy life.
Thou shalt worship no other gods than ME. So it is written. Take heed y’all. Love ya.

joe | 4/27/2009, 8:15 pm EST

My favorite tee shirt: Even Jesus hates Creed.

your mom | 4/27/2009, 8:16 pm EST

Hootie and the Blowfish were once the biggest band in America, too!

Actually, they were more interesting than Creed. The second album wasn’t completely awful. Ok, the first single from the second album “When I Get to Heaven.” That was a good one.

Steve Lillywhite? please.

Kang | 4/27/2009, 8:18 pm EST

I would rather watch Lars from Metallica sing the entire ABBA collection solo in his little tennis outfit paying a fucking ukelel rather to even hear 30 seconds of anything from Creed. Worst band ever.

Anonymous | 4/27/2009, 8:35 pm EST

Creed rules! Scott Stapp is back! Don’t listen to no one, you are the best.

Josh | 4/27/2009, 8:43 pm EST

People are actually discussing Creed vs Alter Bridge. I mean really. Really?

How about this for a supertour – Creed, Alter Bridge, with Puddle of Pudd opening.

Josh | 4/27/2009, 8:44 pm EST

Don’t worry Anonymous, if there’s one person who isn’t listening, it’s Scott Staap.

Josh | 4/27/2009, 8:49 pm EST

It’s easy to take potshots at Creed. By all means, please, everyone, keep doing it.

Scott Stapp | 4/27/2009, 8:54 pm EST

So I am a complete dushebag and get beat up by a sissy stoner group in a hotel, so what? So i spend all my money on liquor and beat my wife, so what? All i have to do is make another album with Jesus references and people will eat it up and all is forgiven.

Chris | 4/27/2009, 9:00 pm EST

Dude Man: That’s why pretty much all the bands out today suck…except Kings of Leon, The White Stripes, The Raconteurs, The Dead Weather, The Black Keys. And plus, no one wants to hear or see an Eddie Vedder impersonator.

To everyone else who likes Creed: They are definitely not a good band at all. Perhaps one of the worst. Scott Stapp is an Eddie Vedder rip-off who has to do exactly as he does just make himself look like he is a great front man. GET YOUR OWN STYLE!! Eddie gets drunk and fights in a bar…and WINS! Scott gets drunk and fights in a bar…and LOSES! Eddie gets drunk on stage and does incredible things…Scott gets drunk on stage and tries to rip-off a god.

That’s just for starters.

bud | 4/27/2009, 9:08 pm EST

This is a major bummer…What about all those interviews Tremonti, Phillips, and Marshall gave when Creed broke up? Tremonti said a reunion would be like getting a bunch of Vietnam vets back together. Marshall said he never really liked Stapp, they just got along for the band. I grew up on Creed but when they split it was a good choice. They were sick of each other and America was sick of Stapp. AB’s music is so much more technically AND emotionally inspired. I feel like the AB guys just committed credibility suicide. Breaks my heart. And big surprise, Stapp is speaking for everyone again. I hate to say it but I hope this tour flops.

bud | 4/27/2009, 9:14 pm EST

And another thing – Holyrocker… The only guy who talks about being a “Christian” in the band is a guy with substance abuse problems, a public and domestic violence history, and one hell of an ego. Let God forgive Scott Stapp, the rest of us still need to put up with his BS. If this band was a Christian Band in the true sense of the word then they would not care about making millions of dollars and they certainly wouldn’t be in an industry that conflicts so deeply with Christian values. So put that in your pipe and smoke it.

Anonymous | 4/27/2009, 9:34 pm EST

Creed are true morons. Remember there song whats this life for? They dont even know that. Stapp is the worst rock singer and lyricist of all time. Creed concerts are nothing but bullshit. Nobody wants to see stapp posing as jesus with air waving his hair. And now it seems that he has no hair.

raisedlefteyebrow | 4/27/2009, 9:38 pm EST

Why is it that only the crappy bands are back? The only good reunions I’ve heard so far are Jane’s Addiction and Faith No More.

LOL! | 4/27/2009, 9:40 pm EST

(sings) “Can you drag us LOWWWERR?!”

arnia | 4/27/2009, 10:15 pm EST

Alter Bridge is freakin’ sick! Tremonti is a badass and coupled with Myles on guitar, Alter Bridge is AWESOME.

If you haven’t heard Tremonti SHREDDING HIS ASS OFF with Alter Bridge, you are missing out.

I’m thinking that this tour is all about $MONEY$ and possible obligations to Wind-Up Records.

LONG LIVE ALTER BRIDGE!!

turner1988 | 4/27/2009, 10:19 pm EST

I’ve never figured out why Creed stirs such anger in people? There are certainly worse bands out there than Creed.

People love to jump on “we hate this band” bandwagons. RS comes out and calls a band good/bad and suddenly everybody else is calling them that too. It’s a complete joke.

If you don’t like them, change the freaking station! And get your own opinion!

As for me, I’m not a big Creed fan. They make decent rock music. Mark has some nice riffs. Scott seems to write lyrics that resonate with people. If they don’t resonate with you, don’t buy the album. No big deal.

Sheesh!

someone | 4/27/2009, 10:20 pm EST

What happened to alterbridge working on another album?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I don’t understand.

idislikecreed | 4/27/2009, 10:24 pm EST

Booooooooooooooooo…Boooooooo oooooooooo! Stop please stop, for the love of god (no pun intended). Just don’t do it, please.

Dude Man | 4/27/2009, 10:26 pm EST

Chris, you acutually base a person’s music on whether or not he is cool under the influence. Come on base it on the songs and albums, not on thier personal life. Creed sold 26 million albums in the U.S. alone, so I know for a fact that 26 million people liked this band if they admit it or not. As far as Scott’s voice if he is a Vedder rip-off then Robert Plant is a Steve Marriott rip-off and Steven Tyler is a Mick Jagger rip-off and Vedder himself is a Jim Morrison rip-off and non of them are rip-offs of each other. Just simiply influenced by that singer before him and applying that style in his own way.

NATEDOG | 4/27/2009, 10:47 pm EST

I’m so sick of the fools who rip on Creed. I bet all of you had “My Own Prison” & Human Clay” Keep hiding the CD’s…

humble soul | 4/27/2009, 10:51 pm EST

Some of you may think it’s funny to rock out with devil-worshippers like AC/DC -Highway To Hell ha ha ha -but when you finally get there it wont be so funny.

Listen to Creed and God will reward you for it later, trust me.

humble soul | 4/27/2009, 10:56 pm EST

I used to listen to the Beatles, Stones, Who etc before I found out they were all athiests. Now I know better and I listen to Creed, U2, and Amy Grant.

Josh | 4/27/2009, 11:01 pm EST

Good logic, Humble Soul!

Scott Stapp is a mean-spirited alcoholic who picks fights with other people but that’s okay, he’s a CHRISTIAN!! God, you’re a moron!

creed fan | 4/27/2009, 11:02 pm EST

this has to be stopped. Creed isn’t hated because of the media. Media, much like most people, hate this band. I’m all for music and it’s okay to like whatever turns you on. But if Creed does, kill yourself. Please.

Peace Brother Jerome Watkins | 4/27/2009, 11:31 pm EST

Brutha J, ghere does NOT like CREED, can you all dig!??
Ceed music aint worth shit, so save yer money, and runniong out to one of their freakin concert, because they suck! hey, Mr. Scott, why don’t you just take a long walk off a short pier, I’ve had it wth you!

Anonymous | 4/27/2009, 11:47 pm EST

“these guys write songs that are flooded with so much melody i get sik of them the first time i hear them.”-frog leg
Now, I hate Creed. They ushered in a new class of crap rock. But how can you hate a band for having quote “So much melody”. I’ll still take Creed over any screamo, eurotrash techno, or ringtone rap artist out there. Still music needs melody or it’s not what I consider, uh, music. Also, Creed sucks on it.

Darrin | 4/27/2009, 11:51 pm EST

who gives a fuck. Creed sucks

Ed | 4/27/2009, 11:53 pm EST

Stop bashing Creed! Really, what can you attack them for? Scott’s an Eddie Vedder ripoff? God forbid he’s inspired by one of the greatest rock singers ever. They’re Christian, and rock is supposed to be about the devil? Cuz that obviously means they can’t rock as hard as Manson/Slayer/demonic inspired bands.

They’ve never been sellouts, their albums are very consistent musically, and Tremonti is one of the best guitarists in the 90’s/00’s.

Creed stands as one of the best post grunge bands ever. Period. For all you who hate them because they became big, get off Thom Yorke’s nutz and get some integrity.

chris | 4/28/2009, 12:28 am EST

no.

Really? | 4/28/2009, 1:25 am EST

I can’t stand it when Scott Stapp and Ed Vedder are mentioned in the same sentence. One is a legend, one is a fucking punch-line. Take a guess…

sallybunt | 4/28/2009, 1:39 am EST

no band this horrible deserves all this debate

Jeff | 4/28/2009, 1:44 am EST

For all of you people who say Creed sucks, why don’t you look at the record sales and think again. Let’s see here, My Own Prison went 6x platinum, Human Clay went 1.1 DIAMOND, and Weathered again at 6x platinum. Tell me some other late bands that have done that.

homerphob | 4/28/2009, 2:01 am EST

Hey, anything to take some attention away from Rap, which we all know.. is NOT music.

dude | 4/28/2009, 2:18 am EST

Creed, Nickelback, Alter Bridge…..all the same “trying to sing like a badass” shit music. but whatever, i know what real music is and that’s all that matters.

Lato649 | 4/28/2009, 2:23 am EST

I love the fact that Creed has come back… they’re a poor man’s Pearl Jam, and they remind me how amazing THAT band really is… :D

Black Hole Sun | 4/28/2009, 2:37 am EST

If I want a Christian rock band to make a comeback, I’d rather it’d be Evanescence coming out with a new record. At least they’re not outdated. (yeah, yeah, they’re not a Christian band, I know, but you get my point). When Axl Rose resolves his issues with Slash, then they’ll be a reason to truly celebrate. Until then, WHO CARES?

Anonymous | 4/28/2009, 2:38 am EST

I’m getting everyone i know to go to their concert when they come to my town so they stay around forever and all you haters have to listen to CREED on the radio. MUAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!

John | 4/28/2009, 5:31 am EST

Welcome back Creed…pay no attention to the majority of these posts.jealousy is an ugly thing..you will certainly play to sell out crowds as always while most of these people sit in their parents basements blogging on rollingstone.com

anon | 4/28/2009, 6:20 am EST

Chris Vintila | 4/28/2009, 8:11 am EST

hey if creed sucks so much…then umm why are they even on the radio??? obviously a huge group of people of loved creed and when creed was still a band…no one was bashing them quite like they are now…loc. yeah creed’s def no where nere the greatest out there…but they’re ok…i wouldn’t bash them to much becasue who knows how their new album will sound…

Miles Kennedy | 4/28/2009, 8:19 am EST

Alter Bridge was better than Creed any day.

This is aweful. This should be stopped immediately. I want to know what President Obama plans on doing to prevent this disaster.

Mitch | 4/28/2009, 9:14 am EST

Creed’s not as bad as most of you people seem to believe. Tremonti’s a great guitarist and all three of their albums featured at least a couple of good songs. At the time they were popular, Tremonti was about the only popular guitarist out there capable of delivering a true guitar solo. And Stapp as Eddie Vedder? As a longtime Pearl Jam fan who owns every record they’ve released and most of their “bootlegs”, I don’t hear it. Listen to any post-Ten PJ record and there’s no similarities at all, except that they’re both baritone.

You sad fools are sheep on the other side of the fence. Go buy yourselves some brains and individual opinions.

mmanu23 | 4/28/2009, 9:18 am EST

If Stapp wasn’t who he is, you’d never even hear about any of the fights and drunken behavior. Also if you dildos hate Creed so much why the fuck are you even reading this.

whalespoon | 4/28/2009, 9:24 am EST

This is all incredibly fascinating to me. I cannot think of another band that polarizes people as much as Creed. They are either loved or loathed by everyone posting here. What is it about Creed that engenders such extreme responses?

Coley | 4/28/2009, 9:37 am EST

To Jeff: Well, N*SYNC and the Backstreet Boys did it… and they, like Creed… suck suck suck suck suck suck. When I read that Creed was gettin’ back together… my penis started hurting.

Creep | 4/28/2009, 9:52 am EST

horrible news!

pearl jam is better!

Bucktooth Giant | 4/28/2009, 10:13 am EST

This is a horrible thing. Creed is part of the reason why music died.
Example: Nickelback is the new Creed – a horrible junior high lyrical band.

CrystalSpyder4 | 4/28/2009, 10:24 am EST

This reunion is wholeheartedly unwelcome. This will serve as a rallying cry to all those in Generic America who find these 2nd generation Pearl Jam All the mediocre trash on modern day rock radio pushing lukewarm guitar boredom, fronted by billygoat-braying vocalists…we all have P.Jam and Creed to blame.

. | 4/28/2009, 10:48 am EST

How much do you think Scott Stapp’s head weighs? Seriously, look at that watermelon…

Feed the Creedy | 4/28/2009, 10:54 am EST

I personally think that Creed feeds the musical hunger that I’ve been starving for since Faster Pussycat broke up. When they wrote that song about wife-beating and then the one about the “crazy bitch”. They were saying what I felt.

Music is dead.

Pearl Jam never broke up, Pig Bomb.

Idiots | 4/28/2009, 11:15 am EST

“I used to listen to the Beatles, Stones, Who etc before I found out they were all athiests. Now I know better and I listen to Creed, U2, and Amy Grant.”

Jesus doesn’t give a flying fuck what music you listen to. He cares about the way you live your life dumbass.

Mitch | 4/28/2009, 11:21 am EST

Bucktooth Giant,

Music follows the “tide in the affairs of men” just like everything else. Trends and waves come and go. We’ve seen acid rock, heavy metal, hair metal, grunge, alternative… They all change– growing, adapting, reacting.

There is nothing wrong with the rather bland guitar-driven bands that have sprung up in the wake of Creed. Boring? Yes. I’d rather hear Metallica, Tool, or Opeth. But Creed formed when four individuals decided to start a band. They write their own material and play their own instruments, just like any good rock band should.

I’m more enraged by the Disney rock trend than I am these FM radio bands who play mainstream music for the masses. As I said, at least these bands rise out of their own history and write their own music.

Both Scott Stapp and that baritone-wielding guy from Hinder have decent voices, and their bands have released some catchy, decent songs. Music is no more dead now than it was when the last fad passed through on its way into the five-dollar bin, and it does not make you intelligent or individualistic to go against something just because it’s rather plain– and thus, popular.

b | 4/28/2009, 11:43 am EST

boo

Brandon | 4/28/2009, 11:48 am EST

AWESOME! This should be good. It’s funny how people think it’s “cool” to hate Creed and proclaim that nobody cares about them. If so, why did they sell over 30 million copies on only 3 albums and have sold out tours? I think some pathetic people just hate a positive message.

KC | 4/28/2009, 11:55 am EST

Fucking Rubbish. Absolutely horrible. I do not know ONE person that listens to this horseshit band. How the hell is Creed going to sell out shows? It’s going to be hilarious when their album flops and no one cares or shows up at these shows. Also if I wanted to hear about God in the music I listen to I would go to church you assholes. Fuck Creed. Hypocritical turds. Pearl Jam also sucks and hasn’t made one good album since “Ten” Eddie Vedder is a horrible singer and has gotten WORSE over the last 15 years. They are still light years ahead of Creed though…sad.

bambi | 4/28/2009, 12:07 pm EST

atheists make so much better music than Christians…

Jamey | 4/28/2009, 12:15 pm EST

“Someday we won’t be the biggest band in the world.” -Scott Stapp, VH1 Behind the Music. If I ever need a good laugh, I just throw that on.

FUCK CREED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Johnny | 4/28/2009, 12:21 pm EST

Great! Isn’t it funny when dbags claim nobody likes Creed and they won’t sell any tickets. Haha, people said the same thing back in the day, yet Creed was still the biggest rock group of the last 12 years!

IT’S SO OBVIOUS THAT THESE POSTS ARE BY THE SAME PSYCHOTIC HATEFUL PERSON . WHO OBVIOUSLY MUST BE OBSESSED WTIH STAPP TO BE SPENDING SO MUCH TIME WRITING HATEFUL THINGS ABOUT CREED AND HIM. LEAVE HIM ALONE. HOW CAN YOU WISH A PLANE TO CRASH ON ANYONE YOU ANIMAL?

Kim | 4/28/2009, 2:03 pm EST

Thank you for your positive comment…I agree, some people have a very limited vocabulary and deaf to some of the best music of all time.
There is a reason why CREED had nine # 1 hit singles and dominated in 2000.
I like Stapp, Creed, and Alterbridge.
Can’t wait to see Creed on tour.

Angela from Oklahoma | 4/28/2009, 2:07 pm EST

Creed suck mighty balls.

Hey Anonymous, why would you want their plane to crash?

That would just make them MORE POPULAR!!

Legends, maybe.

Slash | 4/28/2009, 3:38 pm EST

To Tulsa fan: I think the tickets for all the shows (except Detroit) go on sale May 10.

Angela from Oklahoma | 4/28/2009, 4:01 pm EST

Is Def Karaoke Jam going to open for them in Tulsa? I’m so excited!

surforia | 4/28/2009, 4:09 pm EST

This is the best news I heard all day – not that Creed was reuniting, but that their tour opener is going to be in the largest Bacon warehouse in Mexico City!!!

Trev | 4/28/2009, 4:13 pm EST

What does this mean for Alterbridge then?

Anon | 4/28/2009, 4:20 pm EST

I’m happy.
Christ. Different people have different tastes. For all of you who like Creed, fuck you! For all of you who do not like Creed, fuck you just as much!
Good luck Creed. I’m personally happy with this, so long as Alter Bridge do not break up (which they said they won’t, anyway).

McCartney97 | 4/28/2009, 4:34 pm EST

Ugh. First Limp Bizkit now Creed. How anout a talented band like The Smiths, Soundgarden or The Stone Roses?

Good Stuff | 4/28/2009, 5:18 pm EST

Regardless of if you like the music or not, Stapp could write some lyrics. Tremain can play some guitar. The only musician that really isn’t worth a crap is the drummer.

I honestly don’t see how you can compare Limp Bizkit and Creed. Fred Durst was garbage and always will be garbage.

My adolescence is coming back. God help me.

Jimbo | 4/28/2009, 5:20 pm EST

All I can say is it to em long enough…..After that plane crash they called alter bridge , they knew where the pay check was. Long live Creed……..I think this even merits camping out for the sold out show…….and you know it’s gonna be!! Come original line up need I say more

James | 4/28/2009, 5:39 pm EST

Man.. u people are nuts, after reading these posts, Why the hell would someone wish to have creed’s plane crash. That’s just taking this a little to far, When I read that i thought what the ??? May god bless them on there upcoming tour, and big congrats on Scott getting his life together, he deserves it.

Sgt. Kendell | 4/28/2009, 5:41 pm EST

Stapp, It was so great to see you on the Armed Focres Entertainment Tour overseas. One of the best shows I have seen in a long time, so glad to hear the good news with Creed. Best wishes to you and your family. Thank you for doing what you did for the American troops, much appreciated!

CREED ROCKS!!!!
When is the Mexican tour amigo??

Kaylah | 4/28/2009, 5:48 pm EST

When do tickets go on sale??????? Someone please respond if you know.
I”m huge Creed fan, I went to four of the shows when they opened for Metallica. I’m not kidding they are phenomenal live!!! Stapp is one of the best vocalist, and Tremonti rocks.

Jamie | 4/28/2009, 5:50 pm EST

In response to Kaylah.. I heard the tickets go on sale May 9th or 10th.
I would visit creed.com

Same ole same ole | 4/28/2009, 5:59 pm EST

Yea and as I always say, “yea they suck…all the way to the bank.” This is about as long as Stapp’s voice can handle. One tour and one album every 5 years is about as much as they can stand each other. That’s about as long as the money last’s too if you behave!!!

Skolfield | 4/28/2009, 6:05 pm EST

I will admit, back in the day i did like creed. But when they broke up, i werent really fussed. Since then ive come to love an amazing band called ALTER BRIDGE! Im cool with this being a summer creed reunion thing one time only, as long as alter bridge keep their word and come back in 2010! ALTER BRIDGE FOR LIFE!!! ALTER BRIDGE! ALTER BRIDGE! ALTER BRIDGE!

JLLopez1006 | 4/28/2009, 6:14 pm EST

I am STOKED to death right now. But what about Myles Kennedy? Will he be using the time to make his solo album?

kc | 4/28/2009, 6:19 pm EST

alter bridge, the singer has so much more talent, this has to be about the money and not the music. why go back to a singer with less than half the range.

Scott Stapp | 4/28/2009, 6:53 pm EST

“I can’t wait to get back to doing what I do best… you know falling offstage and making snow angels because I’m too drunk to sing the horrible songs I wrote. Some people have said that if they locked me in a bathroom it would be a better show where the real talent can be showcased.”

martymcnutz | 4/28/2009, 7:39 pm EST

you guys should really find something else to do other than waste your time on here slamming one of the most talented bands in history. I am completely pumped that they are getting back together and if you’re not then get off of here and go listen to some terrible over rated band like tool or the red hot chili peppers

I wonder why the 80's are back | 4/29/2009, 2:57 am EST

5 facts that proof that the 90’s fail:

1-Chris Cornell recorded an album with Justin Timbarlake.

2-Smashing Pumkins are teaming with Hanson.

3-Pearl Jam are doing “TV studio” shows.

4-Rage Against The Machine keep talking about third world poverty while livin in a Hollywood mansion.

5-Radiohead are doing commercials for the biggest monopoly network CBS (and the Grammys too).

What’s next? Tool produced by P.Diddy?

I wonder why the 80’s are back!

Oh no.. | 4/29/2009, 10:05 am EST

Pearl Jam have come out with new music since Creed broke up… So I guess Creed has gotten some new ideas of their own from listening to them.

Why do people blame Pearl Jam? | 4/29/2009, 10:17 am EST

Why do people blame Pearl Jam for bands like Creed, Staind and Nickelback? It’s not Pearl Jam’s fault these bands have stolen different nuances from Pearl Jam’s music.

If you’re gonna blame Pearl Jam for Creed… Blame Rage Against the Machine for Limp Bizkit, blame Led Zeppelin for KISS, blame Nirvana for Puddle of Mudd, blame Radiohead for Coldplay, blame Elliott Smith for emo music.

I mean some people hate Pearl Jam just BECAUSE of Creed, when they haven’t even heard all that much of Pearl Jam’s music.

Pearl Jam are great songwriters and musicians, and even though it’s hard to hear it today – Pearl Jam DID sound original before so many bands started trying to sound like them. I can’t think of a single band that sounded like Pearl Jam before Pearl Jam.

Yuck | 4/29/2009, 10:30 am EST

Creed was much better when they were called Pearl Jam

What an idiot. | 4/29/2009, 10:42 am EST

6 Facts that prove that “I wonder why the 80’s are back” fails

1. Prove is spelled P-R-O-V-E

1-Chris Cornell recorded an album with Timbaland, not Justin Timberlake.

2-James Iha OF the Smashing Pumpkins is teaming up with Hanson, not the whole band.

3-Pearl Jam has been doing TV studio shows since the 90s along with every other major band to emerge since MTV.

5-Radiohead did ONE commercial for the Grammys. Not for CBS, just the Grammys.

6. The 80’s are not back.

Robert | 4/29/2009, 11:15 am EST

Why is there always one jerk that insists on pointing out the spelling failure of others. Get a life braniac. If your so smart why are you here anyway – write a book and shut up. However, 80’s dude does need to sharpen his rheotrical skills and make statements that prove his thesis. And finally, if you hate Creed so much why are you reading about them and interested in them. My psychological analysis of the Creed haters is thus: You find Scott Stapp sexually appealing and were hoping to find a picture of him to look at but instead found an article about a band that sold more albums than you have.

tod | 4/29/2009, 12:26 pm EST

Proving that the guy is poor at spelling is just rubbing salt in the wound. It was an awful post and i think our friend was just pointing out that fact. You on the other hand are an oppinionated twat that just wants to prove how smart you are. Bravo, Im enamored.

9 acts that proof that the guy that comment that the 80’s are not back fails.

Do you think grunge and alternative still is the cool thing with the new generation?, you are livin under a rock!

MGMT, M.I.A., Peaches, Of Montreal, TV On The Radio, Le Roux, Bat for Lashes, Arcade Fire etc.

The 80’s are soooo back!

Never say never! | 4/29/2009, 1:12 pm EST

“Why is there always one jerk that insists on pointing out the spelling failure of others?”

May be because that was part of the 90’s credo?

How ironic that the 90’s generation are ok now with the things they critized and they stood up against back in the so called “alternative” days.

Hipocrites!

= ) | 4/29/2009, 1:14 pm EST

Im a huge pearl jam fan. I love them i dont blame them for creed. I dont miind Creed anyway. They did some good stuff

the 90's are so over! | 4/29/2009, 1:19 pm EST

I can’t belive how pathetic the 90’s generation sounds on today world, now is ok for Chris Cornell to make a album with Timbaland? or for Radiohead to make one commercial for the Grammys?

And this is the same people who went hard on the 80s!

I understand why the new generation prefers the 80s honesty then the pretentious, depressing, “I’m just a guy with a shirt” bull crap.

it seems my ears are going to ache.

90'S FACTS!!!!!!!! | 4/29/2009, 1:51 pm EST

Of all the poor spelling here, it’s funny how the 90’s fanatics point the poor spelling of the only person that’s been complete honest.

It’s a fact that the 90’s fails, I mean let’s just look at the surviving acts:

-Mr. “turn off those lights, this is not a TV studio!”, Eddie Vedder, has more TV appearances in the last 10 years then Celin Dion and Barabara Streinsand together.

-Chris Cornell went from James Bond movies to Justin Timbarlake, JUSTIN TIMBARLAKE!

-Radiohead turned into a cartoon of themselves, with a dozen of slow mo videos, calculated disheveled hair cut, “alternative” cliche lyrics and a couple of commercials for the Grammys owned by TV biggest monopoly the CBS network.

-Smashing Pumkins beg for attention with Billy Corgan trashing his fans for the low sales of his albums (I care about been #1) and even worse, united with Hanson, with HANSON!

-Nirvana… well, we all know that Dave Ghoul went to make POP records.

-Daft Punk are making records with Kanye West.

-And Rage Against the Machine keep talking about saving the third world poverty while livin the same lifestyle of Frank Sinatra.

So open your eyes fanatics, there’s nothing wrong with been commercial or making pop music, what is wrong is to say that your against that and then go a head and do it.

Ha Ha…
My Neighbor once let me back my car over his Creed CD’s

Apparently, an ex-girlfriend had left them at his house…or at least that was his excuse.

Let me tell ya…crushing those goddamn albums into the driveway was hella cool.

But now this whole talk of a Creed reunion and even worse, a new album…has me utterly disturbed.

I thought the horrid music of Creed was forever buried.

I guess once again we’ll just have to bare down and endure.

We’ll just have to accept the fact that these shit farmers are once again going to be polluting the airwaves with their wretched mediocre Jesus freak gibberish.

Christ!!! It’s amazing how 11 million people bought this bullshit. I hope for the sake of Rock’n'Roll and Human Kind in general that those same 11 million people woke up from whatever goddamn spell Scott Stapp and his shit wizards put on them, and ignore this fucking reunion and join all of us with one hand plugging our ears and the other finger down our throats.

Hopefully, as we collectivley vomit this music back into the sewers that sprung it, Stapp and his gang of dickbags will be rightfully back tending the McDonalds drive thru.

Perhaps the world can finally put this dark wretched saga behind us and gracefully move on.

Stapptastistic | 4/29/2009, 2:21 pm EST

Creed is the greatest rock band in the last 30 years with Alter Bridge a close second. Both groups are so good that there is absolutely no reason that they should all come together as one to form Altered Creed with Scott and Myles as the first rock band to have 2 awesome lead singers. If this happens and I think it just might, all you haters will jump on board and we can all become “One.”

For the love of god people, give it up. They are both great bands and do a hell of job entertaining in concert. Given that three of four members overlap it’s pretty amazing that they are so different. They both deserve credit for what they bring to the table. Lighten up.

To the jacka$$ who wrote about Creed being considered representative of the 90’s:

You are a fool. Their music was late 90’s rip-off music. They never defined the decade.

Nirvana, Smashing Pumpkins, Radiohead Beck, Jane’s Addiction (although they started in the late 80’s), and bands like that were a good representation of the 90’s.

They came along and blew away the overblown trash of the 80’s. Who gives a flying f*ck if the “kids” are listening to 80’s style music now?

It’s not like these “kids” have any frame of reference to judge what’s good or bad. They also have fro cuts from the 70’s. What’s next? Are you going to tell me mullets were cool too?

Anonymous | 4/29/2009, 2:50 pm EST

Dear mr anonymous,
You are a frigging idiot. Creed was rip-off music? Their music is unique and powerful and you just have no love in your heart to appreciate them. You probably listen to Nine inch nails while you paint your fingernails black. Loser

Creed sucked. And, people that liked them are retarded. If they were of age in 80’s they would’ve liked hair metal. If they were of age at the beginning of the aughts, they would’ve liked Nu Metal. Stupid people that make Nickleback big now. Dumb, lame, generic, Blue-tooth headset wearing, Michael Bay loving, Dave & Buster going-to idiots.

Verdad | 4/29/2009, 3:00 pm EST

I don’t like Creed but I agree with Stapptastic, most of the 90s fans were a bunch of posers that preach about being so dark and so real and so anti 80s values, but they endup doing even worse things then the 80’s generation, like betraying their ideology and selling to the industry.

Creed never wanned to be like that, they embrace their succes and their audience, and they deserve a second chance.

Who want’s to hear Pearl Jam trashing the industry while they are the industry?

STRAIGHT UP | 4/29/2009, 3:41 pm EST

To the guy that said that: “Nirvana, Smashing Pumpkins, Radiohead Beck, Jane’s Addiction came along and blew away the overblown trash of the 80’s” Wow! you guys keep pushing the 90s greatest achievment after 20 years! The sad thing is that the 90s were wrong, the 80’s rules and they have been more apreciative now then ever, youu can say the 80s are back. Way back!

But what you might not know is that the artists that you mentioned are responsible of the return of the 80s, so let’s see:

-Nirvana, the first Nirvana reunion (after Kurt dead) was with live renditions of 80s covers, including Purple Rain. Who knew!

-Smashing Pumkins, Corgan made a couple of side projects including Zwan, inspired by UK 80’s acts like Happy Mondays and the Stone Roses.

-Radiohead, they still sound like a pretentious art gallery band, but is their efforts to keep down with the myspace generation suporting on tour 80’s revival acts like MGMT and who can forget the pathetic Radiohead web cast with Tom Yorke dancing with M.I.A., yeah he knows the 80s rule!

-Beck made Midnite Voltures in 1999, the best homage to Prince ever.

- Jane’s Addiction, I’m sorry to say this, but they are a 80’s band, part of the California sound, so don’t get confuse old man, the Chilli Peppers are from the 80s too.

Grungers are the new Grandpas!

80s Stuff isn't bad at all.. | 4/29/2009, 3:59 pm EST

The 80s were better than the 90s in my IMO because it was the start of alt rock. The Pixies, R.E.M., Joy Division, Sonic Youth, and lots of other amazing bands came out of that era. Even though the early 90s were great, the rest was dominated by the industry’s desire to cash in on grunge with bands like Creed.

And then there was Radiohead…..
:-)

Joel | 4/29/2009, 4:00 pm EST

Pearl Jam had enough balls to tour without Ticketmaster? you mean the same band that signed to the industry 15 years ago? the same band that promise to never make videos?

Four years later, Pearl Jam resumed their relationship with Ticketmaster, so please don’t go there, they want the $$ and they are the industry.

If Creed fans would just admit it’s a guilty pleasure who can object?
But to suggest Creed is somehow quality music is stretching it too far and inviting ridicule.

Response to Joel -
“Pearl Jam had enough balls to tour without Ticketmaster? you mean the same band that signed to the industry 15 years ago? the same band that promise to never make videos?”

a) PJ DID tour without TicketMaster. That’s huge for a major label act.

b) Yes, they “signed to the industry” in that they signed to a major label. Is that a problem? What’s wrong with being on a major? Why is it cooler or better to be indie?

c)They… STILL… haven’t… made an MTV music video since “Jeremy”. Literally.

PJ could be as huge as they were in 1992 if they wanted to. They just don’t want to, and I respect them a lot for simply doing what they want to do, with no thoughts about commercial success…. something I CAN’T say about Creed!

Lisa | 4/29/2009, 11:01 pm EST

Never say never! | 4/30/2009, 12:12 am EST

Totally agree, is not about not selling out, is about been honest, Eddie Vedder and company were really preachy about the industry and not selling out, crucifying the past generation (the 80s) for it, while at the end of the 90’s they went into a rampage of commerciality, even making deals with ticketmaster.

So I rather suport a honest seller then a hipocrite artist, I’m pretty sure Pearl Jam is a good band but integrity is all we have, so never say never!

Pearl Jam sucks! | 4/30/2009, 12:20 am EST

Let’s re-release “Ten” again and make more $$, pretty lame, it’s hard to be a POP band.

Radiohead immature lyrics. | 4/30/2009, 12:30 am EST

Radiohead 15 steps lyrics:

“How come I end up where I started?
How come I end up where I went wrong?
Won’t take my eyes off the ball again
You reel me out then you cut the string”

Probably the biggest alternative cliche ever, look at me, I’m in pain, I want to be left alone, but I want the world to know, because I want attention, I have ego. STOP LISTEN TO THE CURE AND GROW UP!

Thom Yorke is the worst writer in rock.

*************STAR************* | 4/30/2009, 6:23 am EST

Let’s see, the tour is only 2 and a half months long. This is a sign that these guys hate each other and only take so much of each other. So, it’s clearly about the money. Quickly crap out 10 songs and call it an album, then a quick 2 and a half month tour in which they will all make millions……how can this NOT be about money?

It’s either about money and the album will suck, or it’s really about love of the music and the album will be SOOO much better than any previous Creed work. Take the guitar licks from Alter Bridge and put them with a more gruff voice like Stapps….could be a winning combo.

But I still think it’s about the money and that it’s all going to suck!

TheCoz | 4/30/2009, 12:23 pm EST

Scott Stapp looks like a fat Joey Lawrence. LMAO.

He puts on 5 lbs. and his face inflates like the stay puffed marshmallow man.

As for their music, it speaks for itself.

Should have been there sunday mornin bangin my head. No time for warnin ain’t got no time. Eddie Vedder style.

I can rip off Pearl Jam with arms wide open. I’m Scott Stapp. I have a huge ego. My kid looks retarded…… but my arms are wide open…..my stripper looking ex-wife beat my ass with her cell phone….. with arms wide open…. my band sucks…. I have short man’s syndrome…. with arms wide open…..

This is the BEST news I’ve ever heard…in my entire life. The one band that actually improved people’s lives by giving them a second Christ to look up to and give true hope that life can be worth living! Scott Stapp will be remembered as the songwriter of our generation, not to mention easily the best SHOW of our Millenia! Even his National Anthem soars skyscraper-height over Aretha’s inaugural rendition! I love Aretha, who doesn’t, but Scott dominates… and we should bestow upon him the honor and rock-god glory, for ever and ever. Amen.

I Totally agree with an earlier post, Mark Termonti’s guitar playing has kicked with this Alter Bridge stuff, hopefully he’ll bring this to the Creed table as well. He has really became a guitar player, that players can look up to. Also there was a post by a guy named Geoff Tate, of course I don’t know if thats the same Tate as Geoff in Queensryche, but reguardless Queensryche’s new cd is top notch, on of thier best of all.

JJ | 4/30/2009, 8:51 pm EST

Alterbridge sucks… they can never compete with Creed, never! There lead singer is a rip off of Scott. There is only one Scott Stapp, he has a very special talent. OFTEN IMITATED BUT NEVER DUPLICATED!!
Rock On Creed!!!!!!

WHAT??!?!?! | 4/30/2009, 9:33 pm EST

Wicked Celtics, you need to lay off the crack pipe. Seriously. Creed isn’t a bad band by any means, but they are NOWHERE NEAR as good as you describe them to be. To suggest that we should “bestow upon him the honor and rock-god glory, for ever and ever” is quite possibly the worst idea one can come up with.

Kris | 4/30/2009, 11:20 pm EST

McDonalds,Barack Obama And Creed –

Proof that Americans will Eet,Support and Buy anything they are over-exposed to regardless of consequence or how bad it really is.

Hightower | 5/1/2009, 3:52 pm EST

Here is my thought. I admit to being a Creed fan, and I love Alter Bridge. Mark, Brian and Flip are good guys with a talent that I myself will not say is the greatest, but they know how to write a song that not only gets MILLIONS of people to listen but creates a passion for that music.

Stapp had a chance with these musicians, but his ego tested the patience of these guys. Stapp had the mentality that he did not need the others, and that athletics is what he really wanted to do and tried to start drama and set one another against each other.

…well…

5 years later, after forming a mock Creed band and touring under his name, he has come to terms that he cannot succeed in the music industry without Tremonti and Co. Tremonti had often said that Creed would never happen again, but he also has a heart of gold (for those of you that have never met the guy), and probably would like to not only patch up things with Scott, embrace a feeling from the past and maybe try to make enough money from the endevor that he can be more than stable for the rest of his life and comfortably support his family as well as the other members of AB.

Personally, I am disapointed in the reunion but also excited to see what is to come of it. No matter what happens, in the next year two albums featuring my idol musician will be released for my listening pleasure. I also choose to view this reunion as an oppertunity to strengthen Alter Bridge. Face it, they work together better because there is a good funtional friendship with the entire band…but their success has lacked, compared to Creed that is. They could use this tour as a tool to help advertise Alter Bridge and Scott’s solo stuff. To the fans of Tremonti who hate Stapp, they might become interested in what he is doing and vise versa, and for those who liked Creed, but never got too in depth with behind the scenes stuff may actually hear of Alter Bridge for the first time… this could be good for them…

…however, I have been wrong before… : )

Good luck to all you guys, I hope that what is to come of this is positive!

jen | 5/4/2009, 11:12 pm EST

WOW!!!!! I am so excited that CREED is back together again!!
I cant wait for them to come to the Woodlands. They are far more one of the best rock group, since Motley Crue. Who ever thinks that Creed SUX obviously does not know what great music is all about!!!!
Keep on rockin Scott, Mark, flip, and brian ya’ll are the BEST!!

Sharon | 5/5/2009, 7:10 am EST

I’m thrilled that Creed is back together. I think that there is magic with the band and Scott Stapp’s voice.

Robin | 5/5/2009, 8:23 am EST

I would just like to say that Creed has always been MY FAVORITE band and I was wishing for 6 years that they would actually make a reunion. it was one of the best moments when I heard they were back together. I would aprreciate the people with negative feedback on this to keep their opinions to themselves. I just wish they came to Canada! THANK YOU!

Robin | 5/5/2009, 8:26 am EST

Creed…if you see this Please come to Canada, or at least think about it!

MsKel | 5/5/2009, 9:41 am EST

You missed your ‘boyz’ W E MISSED YOU!!!
Coming to Orlando Septemeber 15th cannot wait!!

Anonymous | 5/5/2009, 12:04 pm EST

I agree with HighTower-
I am disappointed in this reunion, especially after Mark compared living in a band w/Scott as to being a prisoner of war (sounds pretty bad to me) but Mark does have a good heart, & he must have seen a change in Scott or this would not be happening, I pray for all the other guys in the band that this does turn out to be a positive thing. But I invested so much into Creed when they were together..to the point of being embarrassed to even admit I was ever a fan of Scott..I hope & pray he has truly humbled himself & changed & that the old Scott doesn’t slowly creep up during this tour.
I will always be an AlterBridge fan & even tho I am sure I will like the Creed album, cannot recommit myself to Creed the way I did , that much I do know.

fan from Australia | 5/5/2009, 12:19 pm EST

Creed sounds way better than alterbridge,i mean alterbridge is way lame… no offence though. CREED ROCKS ..TO : SCOTT, MARK, SCOTT AND BRIAN , I LOVE YOU GUYS, please come to Australia !!!!! :)

ken turner detroit | 5/5/2009, 12:44 pm EST

first of all alter bridge fan ,they r not breaking up dumbass ,that was not even mentioned, so relax ,as far as creed doing this for cash not very likely since they all made millions and scott had a fairly good solo career while alter bridge kicked major ass all over the world .lets face it creed was a great band back then all you alter bridge fans were all creed fans admit it .and im a fan of both ,when creed first broke it was the radio station i worked for 98 rock in tampa florida that broke the band and helped launch them ,we even had them play one of the 4 of july bar -bq parties we had in pinellas park florida. scott isnt a such a bad guy ,yeah hes made mistakes and hes lost alot over the things hes done ,he no different then any other man ,hes human and hes learned from it so before you all bitch and complain about scott n creeds re birth give it a chance and see what happens ,

Gina | 5/5/2009, 1:46 pm EST

I’M VERY XCITED ABOUT CREED REUNITING!!! THIS HAS BEEN THE BEST NEWS EVER!!!! CREED YOU GUYS ROCK AND DON’T LISTEN TO ANY OF THE NEGATIVE ASSES ON HERE!! I WILL BE SEEING YOU ALL IN DALLAS SEPT 22ND FOR THE 4TH TIME!!! ROCK ON!!!! :-)

Yes. . . Alter Bridge is a great band, But without creeds exhistence would there have ever been an Alter Bridge? (some thing to think about. I heard that Myles was going to do a side project of his own (any truth?) Can’t for wait for the new Creed!

I knew the day would come when Creed got back together. It was only a matter of time.

animal | 5/5/2009, 5:34 pm EST

Creed is not a Christian Band. Maybe the members are christian, but I have never seen/heard any of them actually say that. Yes they definetly, have religious themes in there music. That is what got me into them. LISTENING TO CREED WILL NOT GET YOU INTO HEAVEN.

Rodrigo | 5/5/2009, 5:47 pm EST

PLEASEEEE

Don’t forget to come to Mexico City

Bugg | 5/5/2009, 6:03 pm EST

Hell Yeah, Can’t wait til New Orleans show. I have seen Creed 4 times and they kick ass. Was heartbroken when they split

Anonymous | 5/5/2009, 6:04 pm EST

I’m disappointed. alter bridge was so much better. Mark had the freedom to design amazing solos and make songs that sound like the band enjoyed writing them. people who say alter bridge are horrible obviously haven’t heard the solo from Open Your Eyes or any of Blackbird. those are two songs that are fare better than anything Creed made, though I am a fan of Creed. Myles’ voice was so much smoother than Stapp’s. I have to say that I’d much rather listen to The Mayfield Four than any future albums by Stapp.

Chicago | 5/5/2009, 7:25 pm EST

Hey Scott, I got an idea and let Myles take your place when you play Chicago because we remember what happened the last time. You were so fucked up that it was disgusting knowing the fact that people paid for tickets to that show. Myles never disappointed Chicago. Face facts Scott…YOU SUCK!!! As a singer and as a humanbeing. Mark,Brian and Scott P. you guys rock! Scott Stapp you could…GIVE HEAD TO MY SHIT! MYLES RULES!!!!

IRONHEAD | 5/5/2009, 7:42 pm EST

IT DOESN’T MATTER WHAT ANYONE THINKS REGARDING CREED, ALTER BRIDGE, OR SCOTT STAPP GOING SOLO. ALL 4 MEMBERS MADE A SHIT LOAD OF MONEY TOGETHER IN THE 90′S AS CREED. THEY HAVE BEEN SUCCESSFUL AWAY FROM CREED ALSO. I PERSONALLY AM GLAD THAT THEY ARE BACK! I ALSO LOOK FORWARD TO SOMETHING FROM ALTER BRIDGE AND ANOTHER SCOTT STAPP SOLO ALBUM; AFTER THEY WRAP UP THEIR CREED TOUR! THESE GUYS PARTED THEIR WAYS ON BAD TERMS; BUT HAVE SET ASIDE THEIR DIFFERENCES TO DO WHAT MADE THEM THE MOST MONEY. I DO NOT RECALL THAT ALTER BRIDGE OR SCOTT STAPP HAVE SOLD NEARLY 35 MILLION ALBUMS BY GOING THEIR SEPERATE WAYS. I AM GLAD TO SEE THAT THEY HAVE GOTTEN THEIR SHIT TOGETHER FOR A NEW ALBUM AND PLAN TO TOUR!!!

Chicago | 5/5/2009, 7:56 pm EST

Just saw my dog leave a large pile of shit in the backyard…and thought of Scott Stapp! How ironic!

HELLS YEAH! Melinda's excited! | 5/5/2009, 8:00 pm EST

OMG so freaking exciting! To all the fucktards out there leaving shitty comments – go somewhere else jackoff! No one wants your worthless opinion anyways, and obviously you care enough to leave an angry message of how you feel, bec you have unresolved issues.. (maybe bec “mommy or daddy” didn’t love you enough) anywho-back to CREED’s reunion: YAH!!! I will be there in Cinci and Columbus- out of all 4 Creed concerts I’ve been to I was NEVER disappointed. Buy the tickets people!!!

Anonymous | 5/5/2009, 9:04 pm EST

So glad Creed is back together, I fell in love with my own prison, and havent missed them more, they are by far the best band and 10 times better than Alter Bridge who had 2 good songs not 3 of the best albums, so those who think they are better need to actually listen to Creed, Stapp, Tremonti, Phillips, and Marshall belong together and will be the best band again. Face the Facts and Statistics, CREED IS ROCK!!!

Steph | 5/5/2009, 9:25 pm EST

AWESOME!!!! Creed Rocked all 4 shows I went to – can’t wait to see them again – at least once!! If you don’t like them – don’t listen to them – get over it.

Pervisaurus | 5/6/2009, 8:31 am EST

I can’t believe this. I really didn’t like Creed at all. Had a couple chances to see them and passed because of that lame ass singer. First time I heard Alter Bridge I thought they were the best band I had heard in 20 years. now this. I just want it to get over so we can get back to listening to good Alter Bridge music again.

Monica | 5/6/2009, 10:48 am EST

I have been to over 100 live shows and by far Creed is one of the best I have ever seen. If you have never seen them live, sut the hell up!
Wether you love or hate Scott Stapp you have to love and appreciate the music. If everone that has put so much negitivity in this post didn’t care why take the time to trash a great bad.

I am excited to see them live in Pittsburg on Aug 6. I hope they have the same energy and passion of the past, and only wish them all the best!
Creed rocks!

Very few bands reach the status of legend. Those select few are immortalized due to their ability to speak to the soul of massive amounts of people. Creed had the opportunity and threw it away. Now they have recognized their destiny. Lets see what they do with it!

Eric M | 5/6/2009, 1:04 pm EST

I began as a creed fan & went to see them in concert many times. Then the fallout. Stapp screwed himself, no if’s/and’s about it. The remainder of the band, in my opinion, made the right choice by moving on without Stapp, also for the right reasons: for the love of music. Then the birth of Alter Bridge. The boys made an outstanding choice by bringing in Myles Kennedy. I truly believe Myles has the greatest voice in rock. I have also seen AB in concert many times. Why AB never became as popular as Creed truly baffles me. the only two conclusions I can come to are these: either AB has the suckiest promoter on the planet, or they were doing it for the pure passion of rock and not doing it for the money. I lean toward the later, because I witnessed the great chemistry in AB, doing shows in smaller venues, and it felt and sounded natural and pure. The end of the Creed “My Sacrifice” tour was brutal and uncomfortable. Stapp’s vocals become very inconsistant on tour. Great studio voice, but not live or on tour. I’ll give Stapp props by saying he is a great performer and entertainer. Myles on the otherhand has been stellar in studio and on tour, but lacks Stapp’s stage presence.

Am I excited about Creed reuniting? HELL YEAH!. But I’m gonna need to hear their new stuff before I commit to buying a concert ticket.

My opinion as to why Creed is reuniting: to put to bed the thousands of nagging questions to Tremonti & Company “When’s Creed getting back together?”, and because the boys are doing the right thing by giving Stapp another chance, ’cause that’s who they are, and ’cause Stapp cannot succeed without them. I truly admire the band for giving Stapp another chance. But beware “we are creatures of habit”. I’ll leave it at that.

Good luck to Creed and to Myles Kennedy on his solo project. But come 2010, I hope to hear only about the rise of AB’s popularity when they release their third CD, and no more talk, gossip, etc about Creed.

TO THE BAND: Don’t hang Myles out to dry! He, as well as yourselves, are better than that.

Emily | 5/6/2009, 2:01 pm EST

I’m amazed, jaw on the floor. Never thought in a million years the guys would be back together, but I’m not complaining. I can’t wait to do the meet and greet :)

scott strappon | 5/6/2009, 2:49 pm EST

Amazingly sad that 4 guys could burn through 50 million dollars in less than 6 years….

I actually heard Myles Kennedy was being asked to fill Robert Plants spot and Led Zepp was going to tour again with jason Bohnam on drums.

Bill | 5/6/2009, 3:32 pm EST

February 1998, San Diego, 200 people jammed into a bar with your bus parked outside. I hope you guys can regain that energy, best show I have ever seen. Good luck guys!!

JamesD | 5/6/2009, 6:02 pm EST

The music industry has been pretty successful in diluting virtually all creativity out of the music we hear today. It’s an industry, and the goal is to make money. This type of music is more FORMULA than it is ART. Nickleback, Creed… very sad. It’s unfortunate that the 13-year-old’s writing in don’t see this. It would be awesome if their new album was rap! hahahaha! That’s about as ‘artful’ as Creed’s music (for those that don’t get it, rap is not music).

I was at the creed concert in Chicago when scott had his breakdown. That was by far the worst concert I have been too. I still love creed and want to see them again prior to that Chicago meltdown creed concerts were awesome. I now live in San diego and no creed show in San diego where they first toured. Please come to san diego !!!

jazz man | 5/7/2009, 12:40 am EST

This is weak, man! There is no way that Creed will surpass what Alter Bridge has done these past few years in terms of musicallity, heaviness, technical ability and diversity. Good luck Stapp on outsinging Kennedy!!

Kent | 5/7/2009, 1:47 am EST

Im thrilled the one and only Creed is back my favor band ever I cant believe some people like alter bridge better i got the cd tried to like it but just couldnt but i like Scotts solo album but it wasn’t the same without marks guitar skills Scotts voice is IMO the best most amazing voices i ever heard Myles voice sucked compared to Scotts deep powerful voice . hard to believe theres so many AB fans and that theres so many creed haters i love them Rock on Creed and ilove three doors down

Bill | 5/7/2009, 3:06 am EST

Hey I like Alter Bridge as well but really..what have they done? They never really came as close to the success that Creed had. I still love to listen to Creed and I do listen to Alter Bridge as well. I hope this reunion does well and I hope the new disc rocks!

Mr.Mondo | 5/7/2009, 5:26 am EST

okay I want to start by saying if you don’t like creed thats your own right, but to come here and slam the fact that a really good band that inspired alot of people to change for the better is getting back together then your an idot. I do agree that I like the heavyness of AB but I love the words of creed. and for all those who are saying AB is over its not Myles is working on something righ now on his own. I will say that when I read the news I cried….still am this band changed my life..I was a thug wanna be untill I heard them.. now im a sub teacher with a great look on life beacuse of them..if you dont like them thats fine…but go play in your own sandbox and leave us who do enjoy them alone

sahil | 5/7/2009, 7:12 am EST

Clev | 5/7/2009, 11:31 am EST

Eh…In the years since Creed’s split, I’ve actually come to prefer Alter Bridge…I hope the reunion of Creed doesn’t mean the death of Alter Bridge. I’ve only heard quotes from Stapp. Has anyone heard anything from Tremonti or Phillips throughout this whole thing?

AB rocks | 5/7/2009, 3:25 pm EST

What! Scott has a better voice than Myles, you have to be kidding me. AB was way more talented than CREED. In AB the drums, base, and guitars came out were in CREED it was all about Scott Stapp.

Amy - Houston Tx | 5/7/2009, 4:04 pm EST

I for one LOVE LOVE LOVE Creed !!!!! I was sad when they broke up and hoped for this reunion. I have seen Alter Bridge and really love them too. I jam to both all the time. As for the Houston show in Sept they are actually stating that Alter Bridge will be opening. How cool is that. I could listen to Mark T jam for hours..

I can’t wait !!!!!!!!!! ROCK ON !!

Sarah H | 5/7/2009, 6:53 pm EST

Creed used to be one of my favorite bands until Alter Bridge came along. Alter Bridge is way better than Creed and I hope that this is not the end for AB. Myle’s is by far a better singer than Scott. AB’s songs as a whole are better than Creed’s. I hope that this is just a tour and the rest of the band comes to realize that Scott is still an ass and stay with AB in the long run.

Nick | 5/7/2009, 7:43 pm EST

I got my set of tickets and set to see these guys preform, they are my all time favoret band. Sure Alter Bridge is good, but in my opinion, Creed’s words reached out far more then Alter Bridge and Scott Stapp’s voice grabs more attension than Mark’s. Hopefuly the band can figure out a way to combind Creed’s words with Alter Bridge instermentals. Once again, extreemly excited to see Creed back!

Creed/AB | 5/7/2009, 8:31 pm EST

I love both bands but i would like to say myles is a better singer and you cant argue that. I play the guitar so i love the technicality of AB and im more of a metal fan anyways but im lookin forward to hearin some more Creed cause they were a great band as well and i jam to both

Mark D | 5/7/2009, 10:30 pm EST

I hung out with Tremonti when Creed was on top of the world!!!! Alter Bridge did nothing but play great music. And the guys rocked out every show. I hope Stapp dont FUCK this up again!!!!!!

John | 5/7/2009, 11:49 pm EST

this is great…i can’t wait to hear the new cd and see them in concert here in san antonio. they are one of the greatest bands that i’ve heard. only mark t. and scott t. can make that great median between his voice and those great guitar licks. creed is back OMG, here that great blast of ROCK that i’ve been missing for years, here we go CREED lets bring it all to the stage for all to see again. what a reunion to come FULL CIRCLE!

CreedQueen66 | 5/8/2009, 2:31 am EST

I made a Prediction on a local radio show I was on that they would get back together within the next 5 years and here we are!!! CREED IS BACK AND THEY ARE GOING TO MAKE THE MUSIC THEY WERE BLESSED TO MAKE AS A GROUP!!! I am a fan of AB as well, but CREED stole my heart on ” Higher”, “One” and “What If” way back when. I have seen them 2 times in concert on Long Island and their LIVE performance surpassed any other rock band either I or my husband saw. Those of you that got the so called Shaft in Chicago, well Forgiveness is a beautiful thing… Human beings make mistakes and Stapp made his fair share. But then again I’m sure all of you here complaining have made many a mistake in your life.

For the guy who said that the music of bands like Creed and Nickelback is more formula than art, I’d say you’re right about Nickelback but totally wrong about Creed. Remember what Creed became wasn’t how they started out, quite the opposite.

I for one am extremely happy Creed is back together. I live in Chicago, I saw them twice and they were great both times. I just watched an interview with Brian Marshal and Scott Philips, they are stoked about this Tour and new album. Check out Red Eye’s interview. For Brian he missed out on Weathered. What they are looking forward to is the Larger Crowds that come out and support Creed, something that both of them missed in Alterbridge. Which by the way is still going to happen as a side project while Creed will be the main focus. Heck both Stapp and Alterbridge have albums in the can…. So what does that tell you?

Mike C | 5/8/2009, 11:37 am EST

FANTASTIC! Can’t wait for the tour- However, I travel alot and would be willing ot go to any CIty ot see CREED. BUt most of the dates are MIDWEEK! WHats up with THat! Sorry that puts me and I think many folks that can afford the concerts deciding NOT TO ATTEND! Scott – WHen you are in Arizona-CHeck out THe Marini Ranch (Scottsdale) and look for a local band called Bobby St. Vincient Band-They are a Tempe / Phoenix Az Bar Band and are absoleutly fantastic and might be a great back -up Band

Robert, the big fan | 5/8/2009, 1:26 pm EST

Yay! Creed is getting back together with new Songs, and they are Coming to Colorado! Best news ever. too bad my phone was stolen this wensday. but I am having alot of good things happening today for me. like this. BOOYA.

P.S. Creed is alot better then Alter Bridge. Stapp has a much nice voice then the AB singer. made me cringe in a few songs that were going good till he hits that one note he must like. but they are still pretty good I have to amite. especally Ties that bind. Fav from alter bridge.

JAMpa | 5/8/2009, 2:45 pm EST

Is funny… people even take some time to talk wrong about Creed… go to fool around somewhere else… Creed is great, even if you hate it, you’re actually reading this news… so… there you’ve got… Yeah, they mark a period in the late 90’s… so is great they’re coming back… and AB… well… is Creed-copy with more guitar solos… so stop talk about it… Oh, by the way, Scott Stapp is a Artist, Mark is just a singer… jejeje… can’t wait the new songs…!!!

barbie | 5/8/2009, 2:52 pm EST

This is the best news ever…we were just jamming to Creed wondering if only they would get back together….OMG CREED IS BACK TOGETHER…YES!!!!! You guys make the best music ever. Each one of your talents makes for the best band. See you in September in Dallas, TX….the CREED CREW can’t wait. Love you guys.

JD's Girl | 5/8/2009, 8:09 pm EST

WHY THIS!!! Doesn’t the world have enough problems! Alter Bridge will always be more creative… REAL MUSIC! Not Creed, Scott Stapp, Whimpy Kiddy Baby Whiner crap!!!

Katina | 5/9/2009, 9:07 am EST

OUR CREW IS 15 DEEP! WE ATTENDED ALMOST EVERY CONCERT YOU GUYS PUT ON IN DALLAS. BELIEVE ME WHEN I SAY WE ARE TRUE SUPPORTERS OF THE “CREED MOVEMENT”!!!! NOBODY MAKES MUSIC LIKE CREED AND WE WERE DEFINATELY A LIL LOST WITHOUT YA’LL! CONGRATULATIONS ON THE “REBIRTH”. IT WAS LONG OVERDUE!CREED ISN’T CREED WITHOUT IT’S 4 ORIGINAL MEMBERS!!! CAN’T WAIT FOR THAT NEW ALBUM! IT WOULD BE BETTER FOR ALL OF US REAL FANS IF WE DIDN’T HAVE TO WAIT SOOO LONG FOR IT’S RELEASE! Chicago | 5/9/2009, 10:56 pm EST

Dear Melinda,Katrina and the rest of you that “love Creed”…Mark,Brian and Scott Phillips are TRUE musicians,as well is Myles. Face facts Scott Stapp loves the cock! You can put lipstick on a pig…but guess what, you desperate women(and I use that term lightly)will always be pigs! Slop up the slop and hope for some drunk asshole to fuck you. Alter Bridge ROCKS and NEVER disappointed anyone. I know that Mark,Brian and Scott P. have their contracts with the record company and need to fill their agreements…but honestly…look at at Scott Stapp in the pictures and he looks like a lost puppy. Is there a reason why Brian is 3 feet away from him? I guess we know the reason. For all you FUCKFACES out there..I’ve gotten many hugs from “Mommy and Daddy” they just taught me how to smell out the BULLSHIT and that bullshit is Scott Stapp. Here’s an allstar line-up…Mark,Scott P,Brian and…are you ready for this…Myles! Some say that Myles has no stage presence, but Myles is also playing an instrument…NOT passed out on the stage! By the way …Happy mothers’ day Scott, YOU DIRTY SORRY SON OF A BITCH MOTHER-FUCKER! SCOTT STAPP…I HOPE YOU CHOKE ON SHIT AND DIE,YOU SELF-RIGHTOUS COCKSUCKER!

SWINE FLU= SCOTT STAPP

Spizzo | 5/10/2009, 12:29 am EST

Scott,

I live in Cincinnati and can’t wait to see you….It has been a running joke with my 2 boys that I would say “Scott called me today and he says hey” and my oldest son would say “he called me today and were hanging out tommorrow and he’ll see ya then”. Sounds crazy, but they know how much I love you and the band. People think we are completely serious..they will say, “Scott who”? and me and my boys will say “Creed”…they think we really know you…it’s funny! I’m gonna give you my email address and me and my sons would love to meet you when you are in Cincy…then I can REALLY say, “Scott emailed me and we’ll see him at the concert”…I would love to play around with them, and if it became true, they would absolutely freek! spizzo@fuse.net….See you in August!

rFs | 5/10/2009, 3:47 pm EST

Everyone on here that posts hate messages about Scott Stapp and his fans are really pathetic and pretty bored. Keep posting all your little bitter words about him and the reuniting of the once great Creed, because at the end of the day, these bastards will make more money and go farther than any of you or your family and friends. Keep those haters coming, ya’ll just fuel the fire. As for Alter Bridge, they are the shit, but I’m very excited to hear what comes of the NEW Creed. You dumbasses, well see you all in hell, where I’ll be rockin’ out to some Creed.

Anonymous | 5/11/2009, 11:42 am EST

Yes Myles does have a higher voice but that does not make him a better song writer, the words that Scott Stapp and Mark come up with are amazing, yeah at the end of Creeds first life span Scott got a big head on him self and he has sence admited to his mistakes, lets just hopehe he was really ture about what he said

Stappbabe | 5/11/2009, 2:45 pm EST

SCOTT STAPP RAWKS!!!!! congratulations on the CREED Reunion love your voice!! looking forward to more great music from you =) MUUUUAAAH!!!

JAMpa | 5/11/2009, 4:19 pm EST

Hey Chicago… stop put messages and go to have some life man, and leave us enjoy the news… if you don’t like it, well, visit the site of AB and wait a year to hear again your beloved Kennedy making music without charisma, and man, to play guitar is way more than just learn two or three chords man… if that’s talent… maybe thats why there’s is that many crap out there…!!! Cheerssss for those who follow the creed…!!!

Wicked Celtics | 5/12/2009, 12:49 am EST

PEOPLE, LISTEN!!!!

Hating CREED is like hating the air we breath! They sold 35 million records, MEANING that someone you dearly love and care about LOVES Creed! C’mon people, you’ve taken this joke far enough. Just cuz everyone likes to bag on Stapp’s iconic and overly grandiose (perfect in my opinion) on-stage gestures and love of the magic-sauce doesn’t mean he isn’t the genius that the world so rightfully exalts!!!! Does anyone even know what “exalt” means? I’m pretty sure it means “praise,” as in praise be to Stapp who doth generously pour from his body of buttrock into our grateful cups of netherworldly soul. It’s called BUTTROCK for a reason people. Deal with the worldwide Stapp infection!!!!! This is what God wants, ok? The other pandemic is what you should be tryin’ to cure.

In Stapp’s name,

-=Wicked Celtics
“Wicked C” if ya nasty.

Thank you for not playing New York City. I would hate to waste a night, money on tickets, and money on the D batteries that I would throw at Stapp’s monkey face to shut him up.

CAMILLE LOVES CREED! | 5/13/2009, 8:35 pm EST

I was so upset when creed broke up especially not being able to ever attend a concert! but i followed alter bridge and Scott Stapp! I just could not get enough of these wonderful musicians! This will be my first concert ever! And I could not have picked a better band to go see! and for all those who must insist on criticizing creed or anyone else for that matter. im sure none of you could ever match creeds talent and love for the music. besides who are you to judge? YAY CREED!

Don | 5/14/2009, 5:31 pm EST

Scott Stapp is a hypocrite, selfish, douchebag and if there was a god it would be ashamed that Stapp ever uttered a word about it.

Don | 5/14/2009, 5:33 pm EST

This is horrible news. Scott Stapp is a selfish hypocrite that will only disappoint the other members once again. If there was a god it would be ashamed that Stapp ever uttered a word about it.

#1 CREED Fan!!!!! | 5/14/2009, 8:38 pm EST

This is awesome, it’s like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders that has been there for 7 years. They are all starting fresh, and it’s great they are all forgiving. I have never heard any band EVER that has as many cool sounding songs as Creed.
I especially love any mysterious “deep thought” clean guitar melodies that give me chill bumps!!!

Jodi | 5/15/2009, 12:56 am EST

Seen Creed live in Dayton, OH during the Weathered tour, and was quite disappointed with the break-up! I will have 2 of the first tickets sold for the Birmingham show on 9/12!

CREED come to BRAZILLLLLLL

Tampa Creed Fan | 5/16/2009, 1:05 am EST

I can’t wait to hear the new album. I already bought tickets to 2 of the shows. Life just hasn’t seemed the same since they broke up. Myles Kennedy just didn’t do anything for me, so I didn’t like Alter Bridge. Stapp’s solo album had good lyrics, but the band sucked.

These guys were born to play together. They were the best band of the 90’s and my all time favorite band. I can’t explain how great this news is.

Chuck Thompson | 5/16/2009, 2:17 am EST

You have to be kidding? This was a great band with a very talented singer on the front end. What the hell happened? Scott Stapp never made it on his own why? The guy has the voice and the talent. No one can argue that. Creed was great and can be again, but why didn’t Scott make it on his own? Poor promotions and image creation is why. Someone needs to take over his career who knows what the hell they are doing.

Anders from Sweden | 5/16/2009, 5:56 pm EST

We want Creed to come to Sweden….
Creed is the best band ever…

Alter Bridge is also top three.
Have seen them both times they been in Sweden….

I really want to see Creed.

cincinnati king daddy | 5/17/2009, 10:08 am EST

hey chicago,
your the only cock sucking dickhead.
stapp rules mother-fucker

cincinnati king daddy | 5/17/2009, 10:14 am EST

alter bridge is cool but sure as hell not in same league as creed.myles is good singer.no stage presence.stapp killer distinct voice, incredible song writer, powerful stage presence and persona.myles would not make a pimple on stapps ass talent wise.creed rules all you hatin m’fers.

Stapp Who? | 5/17/2009, 5:00 pm EST

The band is and always is better without Stapp. Stapp didn’t make the band, he ruined them AB brought the band back together and made them better, Stapp is just looking for a free ride back to the top…His first album flopped and so will the second. At east the other boys have put out two awesome albums…and so I say again…Scott who?

Tbagya | 5/17/2009, 6:29 pm EST

“Creed is from Tallahassee not orlando!”
Really?!? So did Lake Highland Prep where they went to school, met and began playing together somehow magically move to Tallahassee and nobody told me? As for the band reuniting….I think it’s great! Alter Bridge was average at best. All you haters talking about Stapp not having talent and why is solo career never made it….can’t you say the same about Alter Bridge? I don’t think you could honestly say AB was ever in the same stratosphere as Creed! Glad to see the boys put aside their issues and are back together doing what they were born to do – make GREAT music together!

Kathy | 5/17/2009, 7:54 pm EST

Thanks for putting Creed back together. You are my all time favorite band. We will see you for the 5th time in Milwaukee.
Thanks

Mike | 5/18/2009, 1:29 am EST

It’s about f’in time. Alter Bridge, what?!?!? Creed blows AB away. AB is a b-rated band. The boys finally realized what a lyrical mastermind Scott Stapp is. His solo album was even good without them. Don’t get me wrong all of them are great. They will go down in history with Zep and all the rest of the great ones. Glad they are back. Will be seeing them in the “Rock City”.

creedfanatic | 5/18/2009, 2:57 am EST

i understand that there are those of you who really don’t like Creed or AlterBridge. I also understand that there are those who love Creed and/or AB. The point is, if Creed never formed and went down the path they did, then AB probably never would have come to be. I happen to enjoy both bands. This might be a way for Scott to make amends with his former band members. Maybe when AB comes out with their next album, Scott can do the same.

For those who do not like either group, why are you on this site? Go listen to your own style of music . You know people like all kinds of music, only jerks and those who don’t know any better would give the time of day to badmouth a group that affected them so negatively.

JeroSmith | 5/18/2009, 5:59 am EST

That’s cool that Creed is back, I was really looking forward to the next Alter Bridge cd though, I thought the first two were amazing, I didn’t get into Stapp’s solo disc as much, hopefully they bring it on the new album and silence all of the haters once again, Is it just me or does Stapp look weird without hair?

Mary | 5/18/2009, 8:50 am EST

I was a Creed FANATIC! But Alterbridge is SO MUCH BETTER.. BECAUSE.. it’s like Mark was being held back musically, and he broke out of the chains once him & Myles got together. He is a smokin’ guitar player now more then ever. I think this is a mistake. Long live AB !!!!

felipe | 5/18/2009, 10:31 am EST

amuh demais o creed

Scottie | 5/18/2009, 2:39 pm EST

I can not wait to hear some new Creed! and to the haters…..you dont sell that many record by accident….GOD BLESS!

Sam | 5/20/2009, 4:05 am EST

This is bad news. I did like Creed but then I found Alter Bridge, since then I can’t listen to Creed. I just want to put Alter Bridge back on. They are far superior, they seem to be more creative as Alter Bridge and then there’s the obvious point that Myles Kennedy is one of the best vocalists in modern music and far better live and on record than Scott Stapp! If I was Scott Stapp I’d be embarrased to sing with the rest of the band again. I hope this isn’t the end of Alter Bridge. Can’t understand why they haven’t sold as many albums as Creed. On the plus side I guess we’ll hear some of Myles’ solo material…that’s the only silver lining to this black cloud!

Jason From GA | 5/20/2009, 9:54 pm EST

Creed is one of the best Rock Bands of all time. I still like them but when it comes to Creed or Alterbridge I gotta go with the vocals and music of ALTERBRIDGE. Creed was—– Alterbridge is, both AB albums should have sold millions since they didn’t just lets the world know People don’t have any taste for music. Wake up this is a sick world with a bunch of FREAKS!!!

collum199224@yahoo.com | 5/21/2009, 1:02 pm EST

I AM GLAD THAT THE BAND CREED GOT BACK TO TOGOTHER CUS THEY ARE THE BEST ROCK BAND THAT EVER PUT A CD OUT OR RECORDED. AND I ALSO CANT WAIT TILL THEY COME TO BIRMINGHAM ALABAMA ON SEPTEMBER 12 BECAUSE I WILL GO TO THE CONCERT. CREED FAN FOREVER AND I HOPE THEY RECORD A NEW CD.

David | 5/21/2009, 4:16 pm EST

Damn! some people don’t know what they are talking about Creed is the only band that fucking matters! Them getting back together is the best news of the year.

gottalovestapp | 5/21/2009, 6:53 pm EST

Happy to see them together again.
peace, love and joy to all.

steelreign | 5/21/2009, 9:10 pm EST

How are the actions of scott stapp any different than the actions of axel rose ? and millions love gnr. Creed NEVER said they were a christian band. They are just 4 great friends who want to make music together again. Creed made music with a positive message, so what is wrong with that? If you don’t like creed, that is your choice but I bet, based on some of you haters comments, that your own mothers don’t like you.

Brian | 5/22/2009, 8:39 am EST

And what is wrong with Christian rock bands? I love Creed and the music they produce. I also love Christian rock, some of the best music is produced by Christian rock bands….like Pillar, Kutless, and Seventh Day Slumber just to name a few. So does it matter if they are Christian based or not? it is music isn’t it, great music at that. GOD BLESS Creed and the world.

Brian | 5/22/2009, 9:12 am EST

By the way; Creed may not publicly say they are Christian based, but if you listen to their lyrics you can tell they are. Read their lyrics, the WORD OF GOD is in there. They also show up on Rhapsody along side some of the best Christian rock bands. GOD BLESS Creed and all of you.

Aaron | 5/22/2009, 9:31 am EST

I have all 3 of their first cd’s that they put out and I am looking forward to their new cd full circle

Jason from GA | 5/22/2009, 4:23 pm EST

Myles Kennedy has more talent in his pinky than Scott Stapp does in his whole body. By the way Scott Stapp realized he was nothing on his own I’ll bet his attitude has changed now realizing things won’t go his way. Have a good day David

Justin | 5/22/2009, 11:02 pm EST

First of all that is so not true, granted Kennedy is not bad, Stapp is an excellent singer. No offense to the rest of the guys of Creed but Alter Bridge will NEVER sell as many records as Creed!

mark | 5/23/2009, 5:22 am EST

Creed were great and i cant wait for the new stuff but it wouldve been good if they could get to England.seen Alter Bridge twice over here and they were fantastic.

Sean | 5/23/2009, 3:05 pm EST

Great to hear. Looking forawrd to it. Never got into alterbridge. Good music, just not there for me. Scott, where’d your hair go?

pia | 5/23/2009, 5:56 pm EST

I’ve listened to both Creed and Alter Bridge. Hands down, it’s always been Creed. I can only wish now that they have mended their differences that they would stay together.

sammy | 5/23/2009, 8:22 pm EST

Thank you boys for working it out.may god look over all 4 of you.scott it takes a big man to say i am sorry.

I have to admit – i liked creed a lot – some time ago – but as alter bridge released their first record i was overwhelmed by the perfect songwriting and myles voice – as i`m a guitarist for 25 years i loved the chordvoicings and the raw sound of AB and that they played 2 times within one year here in austria/europe thats amazing – AB has so lots of fans here in europe;

but i was always worried about creed getting back together cause i thought someday the inevitable will happen – and it did – the sword of damocles hit a lot of us AB fans – but who knows – maybe the two bands can exist side by side?

philly-bob | 5/26/2009, 1:55 pm EST

Steph | 5/27/2009, 11:34 pm EST

CREED is by far my all time favorite band – have seen them 4 times – already tickets for New Orleans and Dallas for upcoming tour – CANNOT WAIT – I have seen Alter Bridge in concert – have their CD and like them, but nothing compares to Creed (for me) – To all the really negative, angry people out there – it is ok -you don’t have to buy their music or go to their concert – Chill.

Ty | 5/28/2009, 8:08 am EST

Growing up, CREED was the 1st band I was ever really interested in. AT that time, I was to young to see them in concert, but I’m glad I have the chance now.
Alter Bridge is okay, but very generic.
LOVE CREED! Glad Stapp got his shit together!!

Laura C. | 5/28/2009, 11:03 pm EST

I guess everyone is entitled to their opinion BUT any of you that r talking shit obviouslly dont know the first thing about CREED!!! First off they are a band which makes them a FAMILY. Do u turn your back on your family for making a mistake? And secondly they (including Scott ) are only human and NOONE IS PERFECT. Do any of you even know what happened that tore them apart? A true creed fan would and a TRUE fan would also understand. I think they all need to STOP apoligizing. I was at the show when things went a little crazy and I can tell you from a person who has a family and children, my heart went out to Scott. Glad to see he came back and obviously th e rest of the guys are too or this reunion wouldnt b happening. Just b happy that such a GREAT band will once again be out there for us to enjoy!!!! They were then and I am sure they will be AWESOME again. Muck luv and respect to you guys and good luck to you ALL!!!!!

Darren | 5/29/2009, 5:34 pm EST

What I want to know is this just a one album deal. Is this like a farewell tour, or are they really reunited for good. It wouldn’t be much of a reunion if it was only for one album. Here’s hoping Creed is back together for good.

cajundadddy | 5/29/2009, 9:59 pm EST

i love creed and alter bridge. it was sad to see creed split but good to see alter bridge rise from the ashes. in alter bridge mark tremonti showed us talent that he held back in creed. now that creed is back i hope mark with keep bringing the4 amazing riffs and solos he is capable of. i know the time apart allowed the guys to think clearer and to regroup a whole new band i know old ways are gone and a new beginning is ahead. way to go scoot on your new found faith i know it has made you a better person cant wait to see ya’ll in Birmingham. i didn’t believe it at first when i heard the news but now i’m glad its true rock on creed we salute. you!!

Creed’s first and second albums are fantastic. I hope this goes well for them. For the haters out there: keeping diggin through the indie racks hoping to discover the next big thing because you think that is so cool… seriously, get over yourself. Good music is good music, doesn’t matter if it is “commercial” or not. The rest of the haters can go sit around in birkenstocks at a Phish concert (what a joke they are, has anyone really listened to them? they suck). Oh well, it’s all opinion, I shouldn’t be a hypocrite.
Seriously, though, if you don’t know Creed, go listen to MY OWN PRISON in it’s entirety. Phenominal album.

Scott: Hey man, I’m broke
Mark: Me too, I don’t get it, Myles can blow you out of the water singing, but we aren’t as successful
Scott: Because he is straight
Mark: We should tour….

This news is by far the best i have heard in awhile especially in the music world. Creed’s first two albums were excellent and every song was just as good as the other, regardless of pop culture popularity or not. I can’t wait to hear and maybe see you guys in omaha or minnesota! Creed rocks and everyone should stop bitching!

WAYWARD1 | 6/8/2009, 12:24 am EST

Just picked up some tix to the Creed reunion. Pretty stoked. But agree with some of the previous posts. Commercially Creed was strong, but AlterBridge is a much better band musically. Myles is the man. Maybe it is that Mark and the boys just need two singers to fulfill their Appettite. Maybe they can all tour together at some point.

From Denmark | 6/8/2009, 12:08 pm EST

AnyOne who know what’s going to happen with Alter Bridge?? i was a big fan of creed, and never thougt i would like a band more than them. But when i first heard Alter Bridge i was blown away.. have seen them three times in DK. and listning to them every day.. i really don’t hope that they are splitting up, course nothing can compares to the musik Alter Bridge is making. not even Creed!!

JessyJHeyHeyHey | 6/8/2009, 2:49 pm EST

I’m so stoked that Creed is getting back together… They became my favorite band because I grew up listening to them and when I was 9 my cousin died listening to them… I feel closer to my cuz wehen I listen to their music… I have been dreaming to see them in concert forever and now I finally get the chance…Thanx guyz…Your stupp is insperational….

Carl | 6/8/2009, 3:09 pm EST

Love Creed and Alter Bridge !! I hope the reunion tour includes songs from Alter Bridges 2 CD’S !! Otherwise I will be disappointed !!

CreedIsABunchOfMamasBoys | 6/8/2009, 3:24 pm EST

Richard Cranium and the boys are back!

Ray Ray | 6/8/2009, 10:12 pm EST

I am jacked that Creed is back. True, Myles can sing circles around Stapp, but AB’s songwriting leaves something to be desired. I mean how many oohs and ahs can you put on one record. Can’t come up with anymore lyrics let’s stick in oooooooooooooh. Stuck again aaaaaaaaaaaaah. Come on, Stapp’s songwriting skills are in a different league. Stapp doesn’t have the range vocally, but still has a good thick voice.

Ray Ray | 6/8/2009, 10:19 pm EST

Oh yeah, and about Eddie Vedder. That mush-mouthed bitch wishes he had half the chops of Stapp or Myles. It’s much easier to write lyrics when nobody can understand a damned word that comes out of your mouth. I mean, is your tounge paralyzed or what’s up?

creedlover96 | 6/9/2009, 10:58 am EST

OMG!!! i love creed! i’m so glad that they are back together again.
i may be young but creed rocks. when i heard the songs Higher and Arms Wide Open, i fell in love!! they are the best band ever!!! i hope to go to their concert September 18 at the Cajundome in Lafayette.

Brad | 6/9/2009, 4:40 pm EST

Finding out that Creed was getting back together really made my day! Welcome back Scott! Without you there is no Creed!!!

Brad | 6/9/2009, 4:45 pm EST

I hope they come back here(Tacoma/Seattle) again. The last time they were going to be here they cancelled and soon thereafter split up. That #$&%*@! sucked big time!

Savagepat | 6/10/2009, 10:35 am EST

I always thought Stapp was a bit stuffy. Musically and vocally, Alter Bridge is by far the better way to go. And they’re not so religious in the lyrics. I’ve seen them both and I’ll take Alter Bridge any day.

John | 6/10/2009, 12:41 pm EST

Rumor has it…they have contractual obligations to fulfill with the record company. one album and one tour and this is why they reunited. I don’t think Alter Bridge is done because Mark loves having Myles play guitar which Scott can’t do..who knows though

YourDaddy | 6/10/2009, 5:33 pm EST

YOu guys rocked, I have seen you when you first started out, glad you are back to glad..and you retarded people that think Ab is way better, heres a little secret they are the same band without Miles, Miles is a good singer, but performer and song writer stapp by far has him beat

John Hercog | 6/10/2009, 6:17 pm EST

Welcome back on the Creed Atack!

Myles Kennedy SUCKS!!! | 6/11/2009, 8:35 am EST

thank god Scott is back, i was jumping in my room when i heard the news am a big fan of creed and i only listen to AB because of creed’s members and i hate kennedy with his ahhhhs and ooohhhs in his songs he sucks really. i guess Mark Tremonti finally realized how gay myles kennedy is.cant wait for creed to be back.

Ryan | 6/11/2009, 2:52 pm EST

I can’t even begin to say how happy I am that Creed is back together (even if it is temporary). I am so excited about going to see them in Hershey, PA.

Anonymous | 6/11/2009, 2:52 pm EST

The title of their new album should be “Bubble Gum-loses flavor quickly” or “world peace is finally here” or “three men and one poser”. No matter, I’m just glad that AB is not splitting. They are one of the best bands I’ve heard in years. Musically, they mesh together very well. And their songs have some meat to them if you will. Myles is a mountain of a musician, and Scott is a “lullaby writing mole hill” who poses for 13 year olds on the front row with a guitar strapped to his back. Not hating, but I’ve seen them in concert and the way stapp acted was ridiculous. get over yoself.

Anonymous | 6/11/2009, 3:23 pm EST

yippy!let’s all open our wallets and give our money to the poor rock stars. I know they’re having trouble paying their bills! 5 star and 4 star creed stimulus package, I mean ticket package. I’m sure it’s a bargain for all of the hard workin’ blue collar folk. Money for nothin’ and yo checks for free. Yay! for world peace! I haven’t been this excited since I had my Gall Bladder removed.

I am so happy that Creed is getting back together!!!!! I just hope you keep the christian lyrics!! After all, that is what has blessed them to be so successful!!! The combination of the positive lyrics and music chemistry is awesome! I hope the whole band understands the impact on our future youth they have and could continue to make in the future!!!!!!! Grow up …. do all Americans have to moan and complain about everything? Do you have to be so childish and write such dribble … just because you don’t like something you have to tell the whole world why ! It’s no wonder people who live outside the USA wonder what the hell goes on with some of you… it’s truly incredible reading what some have written … go and see the world and grow up …. moaning and complaining and be so annoying …. like Linkin Park say in a song … ” … the whole Worlds laughing .. what did he say…”

If this is American youth and all they can do … explains a lot…

… and they respond the only why they know how … here … by throwing abuse at me – by saying Fyou … rar .. rar .. blah .. blah… bleet .. moan … I this … I that … me, me, me … oh please … maybe you’re mentally ill or something … your something all right!

To the young Americans who show respect and don’t need to go prove themselves by being stupid with abuse in forums… good on you … hope to hear from more of you.

If you like Creed or Alterbridge or like me both …. and don’t feel the need to dis everybody and everything ….

To all the positive and constructive comments from people here about … Creed or Alterbridge …. you don’t have to prove anything to anyone … be yourself. I’m not religious … if you are … happy for you … I don’t have to ram my views down you throat … neither do you .. or do you ?

Kia Kaha
Stand Strong

My Brother …

To others who disgraced themselves … by posting such rubbish.

You really need to look at yourself … there’s self expression and freedom (that others in this world can only dream of) then there’s just you … aren’t you better than that? Maybe not!

It’s a bigger World out there than you ever know …

” … the whole Worlds laughing .. like what did he say…”

All relationships that mean anything have to go thru changes & transformations. It is hard to keep pride out of it. Everyone wants to be heard, to be counted. In the long run, “what’s this life for” anyway? We all learn & grow. Anyone that wants to see the splinter in someone else’s eye needs to get the TELEPHONE POLE out of theirs. LOL! (I say this to myself all the time, damn it! Ya just can’t get away from it. lol)

with arms wide open = a band with no talent, typical grunge, same crappy sound as pearl jam nirvana, etc etc

tisha | 7/16/2009, 1:16 pm EST

This is the worst thing that could have happened. Alter Bridge was a better band than Creed. Scott Stapp is a whiny cry baby!!! I just can’t believe they would get back together. I was never a huge fan of creed and when i heard alter bridge they were awesome. it would be a disgrace to alter bridge if scott stapp even tries to cover any of their songs. I am severly dissappointed!! Now we get the cry baby back. CREED YOU SUCK!!!!

Anonymous | 7/21/2009, 12:15 am EST

Loved Creeds first two albums although Scott had his cheesy moments. But anyone who likes their Metal Heavy and their rock hard probably thinks of Creed as easy listening. Alter Bridge is a much more solid band in my ears. The band will be just fine no matter who their vocalist is. Good luck anyways. Walter/ Atlanta, Ga.

CreedRules | 7/21/2009, 3:49 am EST

Alter Bridge? Where’d they pick that name up? The Dentist?! I haven’t heard but 1 of their songs…..woop dee doo……never heard anybody really talk about them much on the west coast. I can tell you this though,”Everyone Knows Creed”!! They’ve played highly publicized Tours, played live on TV (top of the Rio in Vegas on New Years Eve) and even the halftime show for the Super Bowl!!(Only the biggest, most publicized show in the U.S!) They must’ve been doing something right!!. . . . . So . . . . Alter bridge who?

Craig | 7/26/2009, 2:15 am EST

Whats wrong with being religious in ur lyrics. Stay true to who u are stick to ur guns and what u belive in. They are a band who actually is not afraid to sing about what they feel in there heart instead of how they feel when there angry and pissed off. Dont get me wrong im a huge punk and metal fan but i always respected creed for having genious lyrics alot of soul and much heart. Just because they dont sing about fuck the world and the government and girls and boose means they suck? They actually have some thoughtfull lyrics about life hope and faith which is pretty sic i think. Cant wait to hear there next album. even if the guy is a ego maniac hes got soul. Give him a break too the guys a manic depressent recovering alcoholic.

evopirate | 7/29/2009, 4:07 pm EST

First off, no one should be listening to Mark’s brother. He is one of the reasons Creed broke up putting his two cents in where it doesn’t belong.
Second, does it matter who is better, Creed or Alter Bridge, they both rock and have their own following. It’s like arguing which color is better, red or blue. SHUT UP! And enjoy the music.

Rahat | 7/30/2009, 5:46 pm EST

candie k. | 8/8/2009, 3:13 am EST

I think its awesome Creed is back! They went through alot of bullshit together-as alot of rock bands do- and they put their pride aside and put the past behind them and said lets move on! TOGETHER! what is so wrong about that?! When you are down you pick yourself right back up and continue to strive and work hard at fulfilling your dreams and goals no matter what anyone says-you dont let them stop you!…or you could let your whole world turn to shit and let it stay that way and be miserable. I think Creed is rising up above all the bullshit they been through and they are ready to show the world that CREED has stepped out of the negative zones they were in and they have overcome their faults and bad times to go on to be greater. They could have easily given up on eachother…but they didn’t. They may have people out there who cant stand them and only want to breed negativity about the band- but there are CREED fans out there who mean so much more and they love CREED and respect CREED so much that the CREED haters do not matter what so ever. Their songs mean alot to their fans. The union of CREED means alot to their fans. LET THE SHOW GO ON! AND CONGRATS TO SCOTT STAPP FOR KICKING HIS DEMONS IN THE FACE AND RISING ABOVE ALL HIS PAIN. CONGRATS AND THANK YOU TO THE REST OF THE BAND TOO FOR BEING KINDHEARTED ENOUGH TO FORGIVE ALL THE WRONGS SO THAT YOU COULD GIVE US FANS MORE AWESOME MUSIC! I CAN’T WAIT TO HEAR THE NEW ALBUM! GOOD LUCK ON YOUR TOUR!

I just got home from the Creed concert in Philly. I was sceptical considering all that has happened in the past with Scott’s downspiral in the past. I was actually kind of nervous but this concert tonight was the best concert i’ve ever been to- hands down. It blew me away. Creed was so on point especially Scott’s vocals and Mark’s rediculous guitar work. I fell in love with Creed all over again. Scott really is a changed man, he was so gracious and thankful, at one point I thought he was going to break down and cry. Mark looked looked so happy to be doing what he does best-sick guitar playing…Creed really has come full circle and I am very much looking forward to their new album.

Jackie | 8/14/2009, 10:46 am EST

I saw Creed last night at the Philly show… I was completely blown away. The sincerity was truly felt and I’m so glad that Scott was healthy and his voice was incredibly strong. Scott did not stand out alone, he really brought the other guys into the show and they all seemed like they were having a blast – especially Mark, he was smiling and laughing the whole time. It was so great to see!! Like a reunion with an old friend that you missed a lot! Stay safe guys, can’t wait till you come back to town :)

My fiance and I just got home from the show at PNC Arts Center in NJ. Hands down one of the best if not best shows I have ever been too. Absolutly amazing. There was so much emotion and energy coming from the guys in the band in brougbht you to a whole other level. They were on point as muscians and as only true friends could be. We were so pumped when we heard they were touring again and excpected a good show but this blew our minds. I have no voice she has no voice……AMAZING. In fact we just bought tickets for Boston show in 2 days to see them again.

white knuckles | 8/17/2009, 3:04 pm EST

Scott Stapp is the cancer that is holding Trumonti back from greatness. this guy is so full of him self because once upon a time in a studio he hit a great vocal note. hes so afraid of unleashing mark on a solo that he cranks up his voice to drown everything else out. Alterbridge is real music.

PERIOD. BUNCH OF WANNABE POSERS.

ANONYMOUS | 8/21/2009, 6:14 am EST

Stapps voice is freakn annoying! A singers singing voice should just come natural. He tries soooo hard to sound like other singers its pathetic. I thought I was done hearing this LOSER on the radio.

PJ | 8/21/2009, 7:33 pm EST

Taste in music is totally subjective.

I for one have always liked Creed. I don’t care about their personal life, although I am happy to hear that they are friends again.

I just went to the show in Boston and in no uncertain terms, it was one of the best shows I have ever seen, and I go to 2-4 per year.

They were engaging with the audience, looked very happy to be there, and played spectacularly.
I can’t wait to see what they come out with next.

In my opinion, Creed is awesome.

GIVE IT UP | 8/22/2009, 12:48 am EST

WHAT A HORRIBLE BAND. A BUNCH OF WOMEN DRESSED AS MEN.

Craig | 8/22/2009, 1:17 pm EST

I saw Creed last evening in Bristow Virginia. They were simply AWESOME. Great energy…..Great music….Hope they continue to work together in addition to whatever they undertake individually….

I went to the concert last night in Va Beach with my husband and son and we all were amazed at how fabulous the show was. Hands down the best concert ever. Scott Stapp and the band were all amazing. They played a two full hours with out taking a break. So great! Can’t wait to get the new CD. Long live Creed.

SECOND BEST NEWS | 8/23/2009, 6:23 pm EST

I THINK CREED GETTING BACK TOGETHER IS GREAT NEWS IN FACT NEXT TO STRYPERS 25 YEAR REUNION ITS THE SECOND BEST NEWS IVE HEARD. YOU SEE FOLKS THE PLAYERS IN THE BAND CAN BE VERY GOOD, BUT ITS THE MUSIC THAT SELLS THEM, BANDS CAN SING JESUS MUSIC AND STILL BE GREAT. GO CREED AND STRYPER JEASUS CAN ROCK.

brent | 8/29/2009, 9:13 pm EST

i was behind the pit last night in riverbend cinncinatti, it was something amazing, you could feel the emotion from all of them..im glad their back.

AB Fan | 8/30/2009, 2:05 pm EST

A lot of nonsense posts here. I am an AB fan more so than Creed. I think AB is more solid and musically talented but that does not mean Creed sucks. Love a lot of their tunes, especially “What If”. Makes no sense either to say AB sucks and Creed rules when 3 of the members of AB are “Creed-based” anyways. Is that your way of saying only Scott Stapp counts and the other 3 cannot make good music without him. Give me a break! Just listen and enjoy the music. And if you do not LIKE a particular band, that does not mean they are not talented. Just FYI also, the Creed tour and reunion is not a getting back together. AB is continuing strong next year after this tour wraps up. No sour grapes there, just the facts.

Jessica | 8/30/2009, 5:40 pm EST

I’ve seen CREED now 6 times. BY FAR the BEST show they’ve done. A sober Stapp-makes for an AMAZING show. Can’t wait for the new album tour. Come back to Cincinnati!!!

Jascatt | 9/1/2009, 2:49 am EST

I had the privilege of seeing Creed on Friday night at Riverbend in Cincinnati. It is difficult to believe there were ever any differences between members. The band played with intense emotion. Mark and Scott consistently smiled and genuinely seemed concerned that audiences have the best concert experience possible. Welcome back guys, I will see you again Nashville. Scott, if you read this, mention the victims of Hurricane Katrina when playing in my home city of New Orleans.

Do you actually believe that Stapp had anything to do with what Tremonti did musically on a creed disc? PRODUCERS decide that. Part of the formula for the time Creed’s albums were released was that of no solos. Solos are starting to make a comeback in music, thus alterbridge throws a bone to tremonti actually getting to tear it up a bit. Ilike alter bridge, I like creed, I think Stapp has matured a lot and to say he is still full of himself may be a bit too judgemental. He seems quite humbled and sincere now. Props to the band and I think you will see just as many solos with newer creed as you see in alterbridge!

ME | 10/13/2009, 12:50 am EST

Have we all forgotten what individuality means?

David | 10/13/2009, 1:11 am EST

Why are all you people judging Scott Stapp. You don’t have to be perfect to be a christian. If that were the case than christianity would not exist. I know that all of you people that are raggin on him for drinking and fighting can not say that you haven’t done it at least once or made a complete ass of yourself at any point in your life. ” Let he who hath not sinned cast the first stone”

Great Hayz | 10/18/2009, 5:31 am EST

F*cking Awesome !!!

Johnny E. | 10/21/2009, 6:03 pm EST

Man these guys really lost it. Tremonti’s oversinging live sounds so local bandish. Stapp can’t sing anymore and tremonti sings ok but nothing special. I would not go watch these guys for free.

JG | 10/22/2009, 3:01 pm EST

Why????!!! Noooo!!! oh man and a tour!!!. I was once a creed fan, but I grew up and now realize how horrible the band was and forever will be. Stapp has a decent voice and tremonti is a somewhat decent guitar player but he is nothing special. The whole band is generic and there sound is generic. Alter Bridge in my opinion is the same to..generic. Face it everyone both bands suck ass.!!! But thats the problem these days there are very few of what I would call awesome rock bands, rock has become to main stream. Its full of posers looking to make a quick buck, stapp and his pussy band are broke just like the rest of us and are trying to make a quick buck. And they will get there money because the world is full of stupid moronic people that think scott stapp is the second comming of christ. musically they are horrible, and there stage performance is lame. give it up boys, your boat has sailed…crashed into the rocks..burst into flames…and taken all of your fans with you.

tony | 10/27/2009, 5:49 pm EST

all the three albums of creed are rocking
THEY ARE THE BEST

torn | 10/29/2009, 9:27 am EST

The second alter bridge album sucked. All 3 creed albums are awesome and the new one is the best and most intense yet!!

Justice Wins | 11/4/2009, 9:33 pm EST

AlterBridge is a band….

Creed is a lifestyle and a state of mind :)

AlterBridge never conquered the world like creed did…
