The makers of The Beatles: Rock Band have announced the details of their Limited Edition Premium Bundle version of the game, which features not only the software but replica versions of the Fab Four’s instruments. According to MTV Games and Rock Band developer Harmonix, the limited-edition pack will feature a large-scale replica of the Höfner Bass made famous by Paul McCartney, as well as Ludwig-branded Rock Band 2 drums boasting a pearl finish, as well as a replica Beatles kick drum head.

The set will also come with the standard microphone and microphone stand. Details concerning what guitars would accompany the game, and whether they would be included in the limited-edition package, were not revealed. However, Rock Daily previously reported the guitars would be available as a standalone package for $99.99. Of course, the game will also be compatible with the standard Rock Band instruments.

The companies also announced that any gamers who pre-order the game will automatically be inducted into The Beatles: Rock Band Pre-Order Club. Once a member, you’ll be eligible for “exclusive game elements including art and behind-the-scenes footage” starting in May. You can enter your e-mail address at the game’s official site to be notified when pre-ordering begins. The limited-edition package is priced at $249.99.

The Beatles: Rock Band will be released on September 9, 2009, the same day the Fab Four’s entire remastered discography is released on CD. “This game will take you on a journey from the Beatles first album Please Please Me until the last album at Abbey Road,” Apple Corps CEO Jeff Jones said regarding the release. “It will span samples of the whole catalog all the way through.”

Finally, a new avenue to introduce today’s youth to the magic that is The Beatles.

I’m not leaving the house when this arrives

wait a minute | 4/16/2009, 9:01 pm EST

samples of the songs?

Anonymous | 4/16/2009, 11:29 pm EST

It doesn’t say samples of the songs, it says samples of the catalog from beginning to end-poor choice of words. I think they meant select songs from the the first album to the last. Wouldn’t be much fun to play guitar to 30 seconds of Revolution, would it?

Sweet!! Aerosmith, Metallica, now The Beatles. All they need is a Led Zeppelin game.

Anonymous | 4/17/2009, 12:01 pm EST

God forbid people learn about the Beatles by listening to the albums.

They’ll never be a Zeppelin Rock Band game because Jimmy Page would never hand over the master tapes to some video game company

“God forbid people learn about the Beatles by listening to the albums.”

Ha! God forbid people still haven’t learned about the Beatles!

Paul McCartney isnt dead yet. Only John Lennon and George Harrison are dead.

Oh, my gosh. Being 13, I can’t wait to get Rock Band to begin with. Then with the Beatles? Friggin’ sweeeet! I’m already in love with them. May I just add that I’m a girl as well, and this might be one of the few video games I’ll enjoy.

P.S. Dude. John and George are the ones that passed away. Paul and Ringo are still here. *rolls eyes*

Last thing we need are little nerdy kids learning about one of the greatest bands in the world through a video game.

And there is no way that Zeppelin would ever sign over to a video game, they would jeopardise their selves.

C’mon we can LOVE both. Being judgmental of what other people find joy in… yeah I’m sure the Lads totally have your back on that.

The Beatles, at their height of fame (when they were still together), were incredibly mass-marketed on a scale not seen in the music industry up to that point. If game consoles had existed in the 1960’s, you can trust that EMI and co. would have released a Beatles video game long ago. Therefore, suggesting that any deceased Beatles member might have had a problem with this sort of thing is absolutely ludicrous. If anything, they’d be fighting over the royalties.

i cant wait for this to come out.. so many kids will learn about the beatles this way

itll introduce an entire new generation to their music.
lets face it, they arent gonna listen to the records or read about them, so why not let em figure it out by having fun !

Yo Erk | 4/27/2009, 2:13 am EST

I think it’s funny how most of the people here my age,(27 by the way) is talking about of course, the Beatles and Led Zepplin.

But what about Green Day?

bj | 5/5/2009, 11:31 pm EST

The beatles are the best band ever and I almost had an orgasm when I heard this was coming out! I can’t wait! I’m don’t even have a console to play it on but I’m getting this game!

Led Zep wouldn’t hand over the rights b/c they ripped of half of their best numbers from old blues musicians.

In fact – a Led Zep song was recently on american idol b/c – oh wait – the rights were awarded to the guy they stole the song from.

dewey cox | 5/24/2009, 10:19 pm EST

I dropped acid with the beatles. I mean hell if i hadnt died on stage i be playing right along side them
d.w.

Dean | 7/21/2009, 12:09 pm EST

hehehe all these people who claim to know so much about the Beatles. When the guy said “Paul was rolling over on his grave” he was referring (tongue in cheek) to the HUGE news back in the day that Paul McCartney had died in the late 60s and this Paul was a fake. Not true of course but as I said it was tongue in cheek

MrMustard | 7/23/2009, 10:44 am EST

Unfortunately, in MY mind, the best half of The Beatles is dead (John & Geoege), althouh their collective music is among the best in history. I’ll put them in the same category as Mozart, Bach & Beethoven.

Mr. Kite | 7/23/2009, 11:41 am EST

finally kids today will expirience the magic of the beatles! modern music that’s popular is terrible! i don’t see how people like it. it’s the beatles they need to be listening to!

Paul McCartney Rocks!!! | 9/1/2009, 5:20 pm EST

holy c***! whoever says that paul is rolling in his grave is a retard. I’m only 11 and i know that paul and ringo are still alive, unlike most people
