Kanye West Admits To Getting “Murdered” By “South Park,” Promises To Deflate Ego

Many have tried, all have failed, but in the end it only took four animated children from Colorado to topple Kanye West’s ego. South Park absolutely eviscerated the 808s & Heartbreak rapper in their episode last night, with the show painting West as the most egocentric person in the world. The plot of last night’s episode had something to do with Cartman starting a joke that everyone deemed the funniest joke in the world, except West doesn’t “get” it. There were also some gags about “fish dicks” and “gay fish,” as evidenced by the excellent 808s & Autotune rip-off track performed by “Kanye” at show’s end (Video above.)

In addition to today’s reporting on West’s new fragrance, shoes and energy drink, the entire blogosphere has been waiting on pins and needles for Kanye’s inevitable response, which West finally posted on his blog this afternoon. Clumsily using the headline instead of the body to put the entirety of his text, a suddenly humble Kanye had this to say:

“SOUTH PARK MURDERED ME LAST NIGHT AND IT’S PRETTY FUNNY. IT HURTS MY FEELINGS BUT WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT FROM SOUTH PARK! I ACTUALLY HAVE BEEN WORKING ON MY EGO THOUGH. HAVING THE CRAZY EGO IS PLAYED OUT AT THIS POINT IN MY LIFE AND CAREER. I USE TO USE IT TO BUILD UP MY ESTEEM WHEN NOBODY BELIEVED IN ME. NOW THAT PEOPLE DO BELIEVE AND SUPPORT MY MUSIC AND PRODUCTS THE BEST RESPONSE IS THANK YOU INSTEAD OF “I TOLD YOU SO!!!” IT’S COOL TO TALK SHIT WHEN YOU’RE RAPPING BUT NOT IN REAL LIFE. WHEN YOU MEET LITTLE WAYNE IN PERSON HE’S THE NICEST GUY FOR EXAMPLE. I JUST WANNA BE A DOPER PERSON WHICH STARTS WITH ME NOT ALWAYS TELLING PEOPLE HOW DOPE I THINK I AM. I NEED TO JUST GET PAST MYSELF. DROP THE BRAVADO AND JUST MAKE DOPE PRODUCT. EVERYTHING IS NOT THAT SERIOUS. AS LONG AS PEOPLE THINK I ACT LIKE A BITCH THIS TYPE OF SHIT WILL HAPPEN TO ME. I GOT A LONG ROAD AHEAD OF ME TO MAKE PEOPLE BELIEVE I’M NOT ACTUALLY A HUGE DOUCHE BUT I’M UP FOR THE CHALLENGE. I’M SURE THE WRITERS AT SOUTH PARK ARE REALLY NICE PEOPLE IN REAL LIFE. THANKS FOR TAKING THE TIME TO DRAW MY CREW. THAT WAS PRETTY FUNNY ALSO!! I’M SURE THERE’S GRAMMATICAL ERRORS IN THIS… THAT’S HOW YOU KNOW IT’S ME!”

There you have it, a humbled Kanye. We didn’t witness the Berlin Wall coming down, but we imagine reading West’s post is kind of what it must have been like. One day, we’ll all look back on this day and thank South Park for ushering in this historic moment in the life of Kanye. Oh, and South Park took on the Jonas Brothers recently, too.

The self-proclaimed “greatest voice of this generation, of this decade” got absolutely skewered on basic cable show by a cast of cartoon characters. Beautiful.

Kanye: “My ego used to help my self-esteem. But now that everyone realizes how great I am, I don’t need it anymore.”

What a worthless piece of crap Kanye is. He can’t sing, can’t rap, and can’t wipe that borderline retarded look off his face. If Kanye EVER shows his face in public again, it will be too soon.

Good job dude, you realize he shattered his jaw in a car accident years ago and that is what has limited his facial expressions? The dude may have an ego, but your jealousy toward his ability to become successful in the music industry is no quality to be proud of.

I don’t know anything about Kanye except how to pronounce his name, like when the kids said “Puff Daddy?” when he entered the room – that’s how alot of people I know would react. I thought the show was funny, and they didn’t take it as far as Jennifer Lopez, Rosie O’Donnell, Paris Hilton, or Oprah. I think everyone knows the creators of South Park aren’t the people you ever want to piss off. And it’s better to just laugh it off like Kanye is going to, than to try and sue them – they’ll just keep your character around to destroy you. Don’t underestimate the mass of South Park supporters, esp. after the Family Guy episode aired.

rite on, kanye. the guy has acted like a world-class jerk-face more than once, but haven’t we all? most of us are lucky enough not to have the world watching our meltdowns. i wish more people could admit that they screw up. and frankly, i don’t have to like to guy to enjoy his music, which is tip-top. if an apology and a promise to improve isn’t enough, what is?

Hey Kanye, why don’t you bitch about Pearl Jam playing too long at a ROCK FESTIVAL so you can put on a ridiculous light show where you pretend you’re an astronaut and pretend that you can actually sing. AWFUL.

I hate this man. If anyone was at Bonnaroo 08, you know exactly what I’m talking about.

Go away Kanye, you don’t speak for any generation, especially this one. You’re a clown.

Let’s talk about what a no talent douchebag SP made Mencia look like too. SP has been on the money with rippin into celebs in recent years and this is exactly the type of humbling these self-proclaimed geniuses need. SP does more for society than most people care to take the time to realize. It’s not just shock comedy; Trey and Matt are the real geniuses. Keep it up.

Black Hole Sun | 4/9/2009, 9:52 pm EST

I totally agree with Kevin the Robot that the Jonas Brothers episode was WAY funnier than this one, as I laughed myself to tears watching Mickey Mouse beat the crap out of Joe Jonas, while I barely got past a smile watching this new episode, although I think Kanye makes himself a perfect target for spoofs like this. So I’m quite shocked that not only he took it so well, but he actually realized what an arrogant a-hole and douche bag he is. If this really does inspire him to become humble, then Matt & Trey don’t deserve an Emmy, they deserve a Nobel Peace Prize. Now I hope their next target will be Axl Rose, and I hope they are merciless on him. Then hopefully it might inspire him to call Slash & the old boys and get the REAL Guns ‘N’ Roses back together. If Kanye can become a changed man, then anything else is possible.

West is a talentless egomaniac who finally got called out!

The guys at South Park are only saying what everyone else thinks but have been unable to voice. It’s good that they have a venue to be able to do this.

Jim | 4/10/2009, 12:44 am EST

Does anyone actually care what Kanye West thinks?

john | 4/10/2009, 12:45 am EST

he says his ego is gone. next stop, his caps-lock key

Hip hop herald | 4/10/2009, 3:26 am EST

Kanye West is an egomaniac, but anyone who would call him talentless is insane. Quite the contrary, he is in fact a musical genius, just like his character on South Park repeatedly, hilariously, and accurately claims.

If you don’t appreciate hip hop (and the majority of people commenting on the internet do not), your opinion on West’s talent is invalid.

eloc | 4/10/2009, 5:58 am EST

@ Hip Hop Herald…
Musical Genius??? C’mon man. He uses auto-tune bull shit. It’s fake, played out, unoriginal, and just sounds stupid. It’s a terrible fad, and true musical genious does not by into fads, it creats them. I’m hip hop all day (not hip pop). I’m not sayin the guy is talentless, but he should really just stick to producing. I heard he tried to write a battle verse at Phonte’ from Little Brother… lmfao. I wonder how thats gonna turn out?

David | 4/10/2009, 6:37 am EST

wow! Man just writing that show’s something. I suddenly have alot more respect for this guy. Don’t like his music alot but he is talented. This show’s that he really is an anylytical guy that does work on improving. Makes me think he prob has a good therapist that he sees

Wanco | 4/10/2009, 7:37 am EST

I don’t like or get his music at all. It’s not surprising or relevant to me that it’s hugely popular though. What I really don’t get is why he is critically acclaimed. Have critics completely given up on music? In any other generation, his music would be ignored or laughed at. It’s completely uninspired crap.

Sorry | 4/10/2009, 9:03 am EST

The blog posts misses the most important part of the episode – Kanye isn’t talented. He’s good at taking other people’s songs and making a version that kids want to buy. He’s not a talented rapper or singer – he just applies a shitty digital effect to cover up his monotone vocals.

Scott | 4/10/2009, 10:22 am EST

That was the funniest South Park episode I’ve seen in yrs. Kanye is a jerk and they slammed him. I’m glad Kanye did the right thing. If he didn’t, the South Park creators would have had a hay day making fun of him.

PigDog | 4/10/2009, 12:32 pm EST

It’s good to see South Park getting some recognition for this episode. They have had some excellent episodes that have taken others to task (such as Oprah, Al Gore and Scientologists) that have been relatively ignored in the mainstream media.

Doofy | 4/10/2009, 12:37 pm EST

West is a filthy racist.

F-You fred!

South Park = Good!
Kanye = CACA!

LizzyLemonic | 4/10/2009, 12:46 pm EST

I like Kanye. I really never gave him a second thought on his rise because he wasn’t my type of musician, but once I picked up Graduation and saw him in concert last summer on a whim to see what the fuss was about, I see no reason to feel negative about him. He’s genuine, for better or worse, and that’s what I like in musicians.

Anonymous | 4/10/2009, 1:03 pm EST

West is not a “musical genius.” That was the point of the spoof. He goes around telling everyone how talented he is. If he’s that talented, his “talent” would speak for itself.

No, I don’t like hip hop music, but that does not invalidate my opinion of how big of a tw@t this guy is. There are a lot of bands that act like tw@ts too, and I don’t like them either. I’m an equal opportunity tw@t disliker.

GodSendDeath | 4/10/2009, 1:33 pm EST

It’s been a long time coming. You know, in my world, it’s been a neverending contest between Puff Daddy and Kanye West to prove how completely useless they are. They continue to one-up each other as prime examples of talentless flesh bags. Seriously – neither one of them is worth fuck all, but on the bright side, there’s some validation right here by way of “South Park”.

Thank God.

Hazz-JB | 4/10/2009, 3:17 pm EST

First of all, this isn’t the first time he’s been self critical. He’s talked about himself like that for YEARS. For every egotistical comment he made, he’s made an equally self-critical one. Do some research or don’t even post.

The SouthPark episode was funny but you really need to get a life if you can’t see that it’s just a joke. It’s not going to end his career or change his attitude.
It’s hardly one of the best episodes ever made and it wasn’t a great interpretation of him except for the ‘genius’ stuff.

As for his music, I don’t understand calling him talentless. Let me guess, you’ve never bothered listening to anything by him except Stronger or Love Lockdown? I hate to assume but that’s the impression I get.

BENJAMIN | 4/10/2009, 3:20 pm EST

hey Benjamin... | 4/10/2009, 5:25 pm EST

So just because you don’t like Hip-Hop or Kanye you’re a racist? That’s the most ignorant thing I’ve ever heard.

Charlie Miller | 4/10/2009, 6:15 pm EST

I really don’t like Kanye’s stuff, not a fan at all, but it’s nice to hear he’s (supposedly) dropping the whole Douchebag idea. We could certainly use fewer massive egos…

Anonymous | 4/10/2009, 7:54 pm EST

I’m glad someone was finally successful in toppling Kanye’s ego, he grossly over exaggerates his own talent, though he can add some good touches to other people’s songs, his own work is mediocre at best. His head has been so far up his ass for so long it’s about time.

liam p-m | 4/10/2009, 8:56 pm EST

he’s got it all wrong.

i hate this shit whe artists think they owe their fans everything. kanye west can act how he like. you people DO NOT KNOW HIM, therefore CANNOT JUDGE HIM. i liked ego kanye, he was awesome, he had a serious punk fuck-you attitude.
fans need to pull their heads out of their asses, and realise that buying his CDs is not a charity. he doesn’t make money because people want to support him, it’s because he’s made good music that people want to hear. if anything the fans should be grateful to him for putting out three CDs of mainly awesome shit.
i love south park, but that show is not meant to be taken seriously.
just lost some respect for kanye.

Anonymous | 4/10/2009, 11:15 pm EST

Kanye sucks as verified by the ROO and the many artists there in 08′

Hazz-JB | 4/10/2009, 11:20 pm EST

Seriously, I can’t believe people actually think that South Park has ‘toppled his ego’ and are celebrating some sort of petty victory. I’m not trying to defend Kanye West, but you’re taking it WAY out of proportion here.

Albeleo | 4/11/2009, 3:35 am EST

I dunno, Kanye West raises a valid point when he says that he inflated his ego to try to help fuel people’s enthusiasm about his rap career. You have to understand, he began as a producer, and everyone was telling him that he couldn’t make it on his own without other artists to template his work. The fact that he’s laughing at himself indicates that he is, genuinely, a decent guy. In the world of hip hop and rap, it’s tough to make it without actively trying to convince shallow people like music execs that you’re the absolute shit. I think people should lay off him and get a little bit of the bigger picture.

RSTU | 4/11/2009, 4:15 am EST

Kanye does have an out of control ego but I love his music. Kanye can be a huge jackass but he makes great music and I often love his bravado. His overly inflated ego is sometimes why I love him. South Park is awesome but keep doing your thing Kanye.

RSTU | 4/11/2009, 4:24 am EST

SP is definitely one of my favorites shows ever but it we be ridiculousness to say that Trey and Matt don’t have over-inflated egos. They think that they are the voice of authority on everything. But, this is what makes them so hilarious. Likewise, Kanye’s huge ego often helps make his music so good. Ego can be important to ones success.

Dude Man | 4/11/2009, 12:03 pm EST

I’m not really a hip-hop fan either. Don’t get me wrong here because to every rule there are exceptions. But Kanye is not a musical genius. He samples from other artists, uses auto-tune, and complains about losing awards.

What Kanye did at the VMA awards shows that he feels his opinion is the only one that matters. It doesn’t matter if you like him or Beyonce or Taylor. The point is he feels he is more important then anyone else, which is why he got up there. He owes an apology to everyone, because he thinks he is better then everyone else.
