- Jack White’s new band the Dead Weather will play their first public concert on April 14th at New York’s Bowery Ballroom, per their official Website. Tickets go on sale tomorrow. The band previously performed a private show for their record label Third Man in March. More on the Dead Weather’s upcoming album here.
- Phish will open the summer leg of their reunion tour with a concert at Boston’s Fenway Park on May 31st. Tickets for the show at the home of the Red Sox go on sale April 18th. Phish also booked a third date, June 2nd, at Wantagh, New York’s Jones Beach after swiftly selling out the first two shows.
- The Los Angeles Times got a first listen to Rancid’s upcoming album Let the Dominoes Fall, out June 2nd. “Six years after the band’s last album, Indestructible, Rancid sounds as vital and in command of its streetpunk-via-smoky dancehall chops as ever,” the LAT writes. First single “Last One to Die” hit radio yesterday.
- Artist Shepard Fairey, known for his Obama Hope poster, has collaborated with D.C. hardcore band Bad Brains on a limited-edition color print. “Bad Brains are one of my favorite punk/hardcore groups of all time,” Fairey said in a statement.
