  • Modest Mouse, Sheryl Crow, De La Soul and Katy Perry will invade Seattle for the Bumbershoot Festival Labor Day weekend, September 5-7th. According to a press release, Isobel Campbell & Mark Lanegan, Raphael Saddiq, No Age, Holy Fuck and many more round out the bill. Early bird passes are priced at $80.

  • Carlos Santana starts a residency at Las Vegas’ Hard Rock Hotel & Casino on May 27th. The multi-year contract calls for roughly 36 performances of “Supernatural Santana: A Trip Through the Hits” a year, with Santana barred from performing elsewhere west of the Mississippi. “My wish is for it to be a night that will move you to dance, to cry, to laugh and to feel the totality and fullness of being alive,” Santana said in a statement.
  • Singer-songwriter Duane Jarvis passed away April 1st after a long bout with colon cancer, the Los Angeles Times reports. He was 51. Jarvis served as lead guitarist for Lucinda Williams, John Prine and Dwight Yoakam and co-wrote “Still I Long For Your Kiss” on Williams’ Grammy-winning album Car Wheels On a Gravel Road.
  • April Fool’s Day prankster Trent Reznor will take part in a Digg Dialogg on April 4th. Fans are encouraged to submit questions to the Nine Inch Nails frontman, with CEO Kevin Rose asking the submissions that get the most “Diggs.”
