  • Along with Devo’s recent reunion, founding member Jerry Casale is also working on the first draft of a band biopic. “It’s about Devo in the sad, sad Akron days beginning in 1974. It shows the truth, which is stranger than fiction, where, against all odds, and totally whacked-out, this art band goes from being this hopeless joke everyone laughs at to synching up with the new wave and punk movements,” Casale told Flavorwire.

  • Metallica have released a follow-up to their Guitar Hero ad where college basketball coaches pranced in their skivvies. In the new commercial, James Hetfield and Co. tie the coaches to a tree and set off a massive explosion.
  • Natalie Cole was on Larry King Live last night to talk about her drug struggles and revealed that she was afflicted with kidney failure following a bout with hepatitis C. “I’m on a very long list, which is why we are looking to donors,” Cole said, and the viewers responded: CNN reports dozens of people e-mailed the studio to offer to be tested to see if their kidneys matched Cole’s.
  • Kelly Rowland has left Columbia Records, putting to an end a tenure that spanned the Destiny’s Child catalog and two solo records. “As a solo artist, I felt the need to explore new directions, new challenges, and new freedoms outside my comfort zone,” Rowland said in a statement. The singer also reiterated that the split was mutual.
