  • Nickelback were the big winners at Canada’s Juno Awards, taking home three trophies including Group of the Year and Album of the Year for Dark Horse, according to the Vancouver Sun. Toronto’s Kardinal Offishall won the ceremony’s two rap awards and the Stills — who already have three albums under their belt — won the confusing New Group of the Year award. Coldplay’s Viva La Vida was awarded International Album of the Year.

  • In other award show news, Miley Cyrus, the Jonas Brothers, Beyoncé’s “Single Ladies (Put a Ring On It)” and the High School Musical 3 crew were winners at Nickelodeon’s Kids Choice Awards. American Idol was voted Favorite Reality Show and Guitar Hero: World Tour was named Favorite Video Game, the AP reports.
  • The refurbished Wolfmother are offering fans a taste of their second album with a free download of their new song “Back Round.” Grab the track over at the band’s official Website.
  • Radiohead, the Kings of Leon and the Arctic Monkeys have been recruited to headline the U.K.’s Reading and Leeds Festivals, according to their official Websites. The fests will take place August 28th-30th. The remainder of the lineup will be announced tonight.

Viva La Vida is awesome, they definitely deserved their Album of the Year award. Coldplay is even featured on one of our playlists for our Spring Road Trip Playlist contest!

From buddhead.com: “Have you been feeling super bummed and staring hopelessly out your window lately but didn’t know why? Well we got to the bottom of it chief, it’s cause a Nickelback record came out not that long ago. Hot Dog! Yep, the dude who looks like the son of Dee Snider crossed with a giraffe continues his quest to murder rock and roll by shitting out a new album of man-rock gems in yet another test of our faith in the concepts of “goodness” and “justice”. They even have a new single where it sounds like he attempts to rap. The song is called “Something in Your Mouth”. Got that right coach, it’s called vomit! Seriously dude, since we’re gonna have our ears raped by your songs whether we like it not, maybe you could spend a little less time working on the width of you guitar stance and perfecting your perm and a little more time writing something slightly less suicide inducing? Or even better, could you just stop all together? We’d be even more psyched about that than Chris Daughtry would be about getting a plaster cast of your penis for his birthday!”

I’m happy that Coldplay got international album and not Lil Wayne. And it’s time to stop nominating everything Nickelcrap puts out.

Everyone knows that Viva La Vida and Nickelback are not award wins. It Should be Black Ice or Death Death Magnetic. But who care if they don’t get awards cause know Black Ice and Death Death Magnetic kick ass.

Green Day could be spent relaying the assumed prominence of natural and normal living and dying creatures, and plants that make our lives possible.

Likewise our music should send a special message to the green days benafactors that will shape the future of our universe.
