News Ticker: Britney Spears, Forecastle Festival, The Dead and Lemonheads

  • Two employees of the equipment providers for Britney Spears’ Circus tour were arrested in Pittsburgh after an altercation with police officers, E! reports. Rockey Lee Dickey Jr. and Alex Montes were charged with with aggravated assault, disorderly conduct, simple assault and public drunkenness. Spears “does not support or tolerate this type of behavior” and the two men were dismissed from the tour.

  • Widespread Panic and the Black Crowes will headline Louisville, Kentucky’s Forecastle Festival, going down July 10-12th. WSP will perform two nights of the fest. The Black Keys, Avett Brothers and 65 more artists and DJs will also be on the bill, Live Daily writes.
  • Of the thousands of shows the Dead have played, their weirdest performance will come Monday, March 30th, when the jam legends take the stage for an acoustic performance and sit in with the women on The View. The band will also play The Late Show With David Letterman on April 23rd.
  • The Lemonheads will release their new covers album Varshons on June 23rd. The LP will feature Evan Dando taking on songs by Leonard Cohen, Gram Parsons, Wire, Townes Van Zandt, G.G. Allin and more. Actress Kate Moss and actress Liv Tyler will also appear on duets on the disc.
