- T.I. will head to court Friday to learn the magnitude of his prison sentence after previously pleading guilty to attempting to illegally purchase weapons, MTV reports. After serving 1,000 hours of community services, the “suggested” sentence was one year and one day. The rapper anticipates heading to jail within 30 to 60 days.
- The Dead will auction off the best seats for their upcoming tour for charity, the AP reports. The jam greats are selling the tix via charityfolks.com. “Needless to say, like any charity these days, their revenues are down right now. They’re hurting,” Bob Weir said. “We want to do what we can to keep these folks up and running and in business.”
- Motown drummer Uriel Jones passed away March 24th after suffering a heart attack in Michigan. He was 74. the Temptations‘ “Ain’t Too Proud To Beg,” the Miracles’ “Tracks of My Tears” and Marvin Gaye’s “I Heard It Through the Grapevine” are just some of the classics that featured Jones’ drumming, Reuters reports.
- A private court meeting involving Chris Brown’s defense team was canceled March 23rd for an unspecified reason. According to E!, the only court date now scheduled is the original arraignment set for April 6th.
