New York dance trio Brazilian Girls have teamed up with former Talking Heads frontman David Byrne for “I’m Losing Myself,” a new collaboration that hits iTunes today. A version of the song featuring French lyrics originally appeared on the group’s 2008 album New York City. The Brynified rendition features not only English but also the closest thing you’ll ever get to David Byrne actually rapping.

“I’m Losing Myself” is Byrne’s third hip-hop/dance-flavored collaboration of 2009, and it’s only March: He hooked up with Breaking duo N.A.S.A. for a pair of tracks, “The People Tree” and “Money,” and teamed with Dizzee Rascal on “Toe Jam,” which featured on Fatboy Slim’s BPA album I Think We’re Gonna Need A Bigger Boat. Plus, the former Talking Head reportedly has a concept album with Fatboy Slim titled Here Lies Love due out at some point this year. And this all follows Byrne’s acclaimed 2008 collaboration with Brian Eno, Everything That Happens Will Happen Today.
