If any photo were taken of Thom Yorke and Miley Cyrus, he’d almost have to explain himself to his fans later because they’d be up in arms. Like it or not, there’s this whole air of “I’m too cool for that” about Thom, whether it’s true or just the impression he gives. He’s so better than everybody, it’s very off-putting. And I consider myself a big fan of their music.

But it was brutal to see Radiohead at the Grammys in the first place. Especially after all the years of acting like award shows were meaningless & stupid–oh, wait a sec, now you actually want to win? Hmmm….

And then “15 Step” didn’t get the honest coverage it deserved. First of all, performing with a marching band wasn’t original at all. Outkast did the exact same thing on the Grammys a few years ago when they performed “Hey Ya.” And second, and more importantly, the performance itself was only ok. The marching band was weak (anyone see Drumline?), Thom’s stage presence wasn’t even better than Chris Martin’s, let alone Bono’s, and overall the song didn’t answer the crucial test: was it better live than the album? No it was not.

So now we find out later that the guys aren’t willing to mingle with Kanye and Miley and any other random celebrity, and we’re supposed to be surprised?

Yeah, Radiohead may not be as mainstream as her, but that’s because millions of tweens everywhere are enamored by the garbage that Disney puts out every week. Radiohead is still very popular and even their weakest albums are better than the crap that she puts out.

I live in Tucson, AZ where the John Jay and Rich radio show is played and heard the entire segment. She’s what 16? I’m appalled by all of you. I know people are entitled to their opinions, but there’s a difference between expressing your opinion and just downright bashing someone, be it Miley Cyrus or Radiohead. I think this is very sad to see all these comments. I for one am a gigantic Radiohead fan. I own everything from Pablo Honey to In Rainbows (including their Ep’s and live performances) and I beleive that Miley is pretty stuck up to think that Radiohead would go out of their way to see her, considering Yorke’s record for not dealing very well with interveiws. I can’t see Mr. Yorke actually being able to deal with this girl. It probobly would have made her cry even more if she did meet him. He would probobly get really annoyed. At one point the writer says something along the lines of what are all of you radiohead fans going to do when radiohead goes down the toilet? Really…I mean, Miley got famous maybe 5 years ago and Radiohead has been around ALOT longer…I think it’s Miley that needs to be worried about being ruined because in another five years all the prepubescent kids who are listening to her now will be looking back on their preteen years thinking “What the hell was I doing, listening to Miley Cyrus?” Example: Remember the A*Teens? Didn’t think so.

Personally,I dont care for Radiohead or Miley “Livin’ off my Daddy’s namesake” Cyrus. But I guess if I had to listen to one of them it would be Radiohead since Miley’s “music” is repetitious and immature in the first place. Okay, people who say that Radiohead is being mean for not wanting to meet Miley, think about it.

Yes, I’m sure every band and every singer is grateful for their fans. However, most, I’m sure, don’t want an obsessed fan to come in and drool over them when they are preparing for or resting before a performance.

I do not know much about Radiohead, but from what I’ve seen in other comments, they are known to be very shy. I myself am very shy and there are times I do not feel like talking to my own friends over the phone, let alone a complete stranger.

Fans do make a band’s career, yes, but they have been known to be more trouble than good. The Beatles during Beatlemania were chased by fans when they went into public, had to be protected by the police, and once, in their early days, were nearly dragged off the stage…all this because of fans. So, to say that Radiohead has to mingle with every fan they have is ridiculous.

As to Miley’s reaction, I can understand being disappointed about not getting to meet your favorite band, but to throw a temper-tantrum because they weren’t up for a meet and greet and swear to ruin them is just ridiculous.

From my perspective, I honestly think that what Miley did was completely unnecessary on her part, not just as a role model for a younger generation, but as a human being.

She had no good reason to go on air and make comments about getting mad that Radiohead didn’t want to meet her at the time. All this really proves for Miley is how immature she can be and “the climb” she must make in order to become a more understanding, not to mention a more responsible, person in general. A move like this, imo, could affect what an even younger audience and generation of youth would do, perhaps filling them with the same kind of spoiled attitude that Miley had shown her on air, not to mention how she would be looked upon by an even more accalaimed lot of musicians as well. So either way, it doesn’t seem to help her other than to ‘get it out of her systems’ per se.

Another thing I honestly fail to see is how Miley could possibly be influenced by such a band like Radiohead. Maybe she could compare with Pablo Honey-era Radiohead, but even then I feel like I would be committing a crime of shameful and disgracing musical comparison. I would say she sounds more like some cliched old country artist than an original, unique, creative, inspiring, innovative, and highly acclaimed band such as Radiohead.
