- Last.fm has denied rumors that they handed over listener data to the RIAA to help single out users who downloaded U2’s No Line on the Horizon when it leaked last week. According to Techcrunch, rumors circulated that the CBS-owned Last.fm provided the RIAA with the user information of people who “scrobbled” tracks from the unreleased-until-February 27th album, but a rep from Last.fm said “We release no data linking users and plays to any third parties.”
- The Killers haved counter-sued their former manager nearly three years after they were sued for breach of contract. Billboard.com reports that the Killers accuse their former manager Braden Merrick of double-dealing and incompetence that ultimately resulted in the band losing revenues. The legal battle began in 2006 when Merrick sued the band for $16 million.
- Today, Rob Zombie will officially start filming on H2, the sequel to his 2007 Halloween reboot, reports Blabbermouth. Ironically enough, the former White Zombie rocker told Rock Daily he would not direct a sequel to Halloween when we spoke to him in late 2007. “One is all I need,” Zombie said then.
