Simon and Garfunkel Considering Tour, Manager Confirms

Last week Simon and Garfunkel reunited for three songs at New York’s Beacon
Theatre. Now the pair of singer-songwriters are talking about hitting the road. “Our plan to work together is coming together,” Art Garfunkel told the BBC. “But it doesn’t go through England this time.”

Paul Simon’s manager Jeff Kramer confirmed this in a statement to Rolling Stone: “Yes there have been conversations taking place, but nothing has been confirmed.”

The duo launched a highly successful reunion in 2003, the Old Friends tour, that was their first outing in 20 years; the trek grossed $123 million. The tour’s set list encompassed all of their 1960s hits in addition to a small handful of Paul Simon solo tracks such as “American Tune” and “Slip Slidin’ Away.” Their childhood heroes the Everly Brothers came out in the middle of each show for a brief set. At the time Simon revealed it was unlikely they’d tour again. “Because we do this every 10 or 12 years, this is probably the last time we’re going to do this,” he said.

Garfunkel told the BBC that reaction to the three songs the duo sang together in New York was “extraordinary.” “I said to the audience, ‘You don’t have a right to expect — and we didn’t expect — that the interest in us would last and you would still care right to today and I’m touched’.”

Who gives a crap about this hippy dippy nursery rhyme music…. go away forever… your days is done and you were never that interesting to begin with… housewife rock … just stop

‘your days is done.’

… So is your chance to every score a job that pays more than minimum wage, you grammatically-challenged loser.

On a lighter note, I would love to see Simon & Garfunkel do one more tour before they retire for good.

Their 2003 reunion tour was one of the most beautiful shows I’ve ever attended, and would definitely see them again.

Why do you care killtheindustry?

If they tour, don’t buy a ticket to the concert–problem solved genius.

I don’t go to blogs about your favorite band and talk smack about the Jonas Brother’s…now do I?

If you can’t say anything nice…

No…I was insulting you, your handle, and your comment. I detected no eboninics in your statement nor would I insult your use of it.

I would like to see a BRAND NEW, all new material Simon & Garfunkel album…but everytime they have new material composed & are inspired to record one, Paul Simon gets greedy and decides he’d rather do another solo album, and that’s what occurs. That’s happened a couple times in the past during their ‘reunion tours-shows’ escapades.

Idon´t think Simon get´s greedy he shuld makes more money whit a simon and garfunkel record an get solo.

This baby boomer wants desperately to see S&G tour again in the U.S. I made it to an 80’s concert in Chicago (Comisky Park). Loved it but was way too far to really enjoy the interaction between two phenomenal artists. You represent all that I felt and still feel about the beautifully horrible 60’s. Please tour!! I’ve already talked to friends from my 1966 high school graduating class. We, obviously are 60ish and wish to travel WHEREVER in the U.S. Kinda want to be on the track, front row, stage (ha-just kidding–not) but would accept 3rd row center (once again, ha). Please know that you both have true fans who truly appreciate the lyrics of “Dangling Conversation”, “59th Street Bridge Song”, “Old Friends”, “For Emily Wherever I May Find Her”, “The Boxer”, “…The Zoo” and all the rest you two unbelievable artists collaborated to please the masses. Please Please Please tour and thank you for your past work and the consideration you’ll give to touring together again.
