LMAO at this one. All I keep reading everywhere is that in the present music marketplace successful artists make the majority of their salary by touring and selling out concerts. So, the Osbournes Variety Show was the best paying gig Ozzy could actually get this year???

Pisses me off, only 1 show last year, and none this year. Ozzy has to stop being selfish and start to think about all the fans.

I don’t blame the the Osbourne’s at all for not having it this year. The way the economy is right now, who know’s how much worse it could get. As a metal fan I’m extremly sad that it won’t be touring this year. At least Ozzy is making another album. Let’s hope that Ozzfest 2010 is worth the 2 year wait.

If Ozzy would put out a quality 2 disc set with 3-4 new songs at the end he could sell some CDS, otherwise his fans have plenty of his records, but little incentive to buy the new ones (Black Rain had a great single…but nobody played it)

Touring sells CDs unless you are top 20 pop, then radio and video sells CDs (or at least downloads)

The days of a rock band selling CD / downloads without a tour or a top 20 pop single are OVER.

I love Sabbath and listened to a lot of Ozzy when I was a kid. But I think it is time for him hang it up. He is more of a reality star now than the crazy rock hero he used to be. I saw a fantastic guitarist in Nashville at guitar center. Said his name Gary J something or other. Lightning fast with riffs that I never heard, ever, It was kinda scary. Anyway if Oz wants cd sales, he needs a real guitarist and not one with licks so old they got dino crap on them. Hey Zac! Tuning low means you are running scared, man. Randy Rhodes you ain’t. If there weren’t so many awesome competing tours (ie Mayhem Fest, etc), I’d be somewhat upset.

This year you have Music as a Weapon IV (Disturbed, Killswitch Engage, Lacuna Coil), Mayhem Fest 2.0 (Manson, Slayer, Bullet for My Valentine, Killswitch, Trivium, All That Remains, Black Dahlia Murder, and more), and Metallica/Mastodon.

Ozzy is a legend…& an old man. It’s unfortunate his latest records haven’t lived up 2 expectations, but people whining about Zakk Wylde dragging Ozzy down is ridiculous. He’s one of the last old school shredders. Randy Rhoads was amazing, but his style is unique. They both are metal legends & were apart of Ozzy in his prime. Ozzy has very little lyrically to bring to the table anymore. Hopefully Ozzy will put more time into this next album instead of just cashing paychecks. How much cash does Sharon need 2 be happy. I love ozzy ever since i listened to his stuff with Sabbeth, but hes really going down hill now. Im not talking about his albums there good with Randy or Zakk, im just talking about Ozzfest itself. Its going down hill, and i dont think they will have anyone there in 2010. think about it Mayhem Fest is on the rise, last year they had an amazing line-up and this year its even better, they have the perfect mix of metal ranging from SLAYER to All that remains to Cannabel Corpse. Black Rain was awesome. This is coming from someone that has listened to him since the sabbath days. Everybody wants to put Zakk down when he is a phenominal guitar player with chunky riffs. Of course they will sound similar to BLS they are both the same kind of music. BLS is awesome too. Ozzy has been going strong for a long time, not many groups or people can say the same thing. Yes he’s Ozzy, and he should be able to so whatever he wants…..but if your not going to do Ozzfest then stop getting us all excited and hopeful for another great Ozzfest year, then saying…well, his only doing one show this year, or were going to skip it this year. I’ve been to the past 8 Ozzests, and they have all been amazing. Ozzy and co. have given me tons of great times, music and memories. I still want an Ozzfest in 2009, but last year’s in Texas was a legendary show. Ozzy played a 2 1/2 hour, kick ass set, and Zakk Wylde owned. I’ve witnessed these people work their ass off, and anyone who thinks Ozzy should be discredited, for any reason, clearly has no idea what they are talking about. LONG LIVE OZZY!!!!

the lineup for Mayhem Festival is not in the least interesting aside of Marilyn Manson. the rest of the bands are basically heroin metal/dead brain thumping (aka grow your hair shoulder length, wear a black t-shirt, get royally messed up on heroin, lean your head over 20 degrees, bob up and down, occasionally flash a devils horn). HOWEVER how many lineups for Ozzfest have intrigued? every one for me. Ozzy has Parkinsonian disease and is over sixty. i don’t expect him to be doing cartwheels folks. it’s amazing to see him in concert still rocking with and for us. the love and affection i’ve got after 30 years is enormous. he’s making an effort at sobriety, why not embrace that, and his continued walk in the halls of rock and roll, with the respect and honor he’s due. unlike television, rock and roll shouldn’t have to be for the fifteen to twenty-eight year old faces. living legends walk in our lifetime NOW – and i for one LOVE seeing them perform and share their history and presence with me.

Hey Ozz! You should consider another Black Sabbath reunion tour in Spring 2010. Now is the time to bring back the wicked darkness of vintage Black Sabbath! If the surviving band members are still around you should go back to the studio again, pick up after where Never Say Die left off. First off obviously, no more booze, coke or any drugs! This is what killed Sabbath and made it a flashy hair metal band with Dio. Dio is okay, he’s talented no doubt, but it didn’t have the same vibe and sound that it did with Osbourne. Warm up your talents with the next solo album, then get in touch with Iommi and talk with him about a possibility of recording another studio album. There’s so much you could do vocally now with Sabbath that it would create a new sound, one part solo Ozzy and one part vintage Sabbath. Then make up for it, do a limited one week Reunion tour in support of this new album and classic Sabbath. After that go for the planning of an explosive, kickass Ozzfest 2010. Make it so good as if it was your last Ozzfest. Stop the nonsense with the Osbournes Reloaded crap! You’re not a clown or a fool, you’re a musician! You are an inspiring and talented vocalist that paved the way for other metal artists of today. Promote some fresh new bands on the 2010. Music artists that need to be noticed and heard live. One thing to keep in mind as some whine about how “selfish” Ozzy is: the guy is in his 60s! If he and Sharon can’t try to amass a bit of cash to retire on now, then when? 10 albums worth of downright wondrous stuff would please the Hell outa me from ANY artist, even if I don’t like them. I think those that are whining about no Ozzfest should crack open a dictionary and look up the word selfish before trying to pin that one on Ozzy.
