- Prolific rapper and noted ESPN columnist Lil Wayne made a guest appearance on the sports network’s Around the Horn yesterday. Weezy was knowledgeable about all the topics he faced, including Alex Rodriguez’s steroid use, the Phoenix Suns’ Amare Stoudamire’s possible trade destinations and Lawrence Taylor. Wayne even held his own talking about fighting in hockey. Watch a compilation of all the Weezy moments in the video above.
- Despite reports that the next R. Kelly album would be called 12 Play: Fourth Quarter, Kelly told an Atlanta crowd this weekend the LP would instead be called Untitled. “I’m out here working on the muthafuckin’ album. I’m working on a new album and I’m calling that muthafucka ‘Untitled.’ Y’all call it what y’all want,” Kelly told the crowd, MTV reports.
- Even though the Langerado Festival was canceled due to slow ticket sales, the Sasquatch! Festival at Washington state’s Gorge and Michigan’s Rothbury Festival are both returning in 2009. Sasquatch! will take place May 23-25th, while the second annual Rothbury will go down July 2-5th at the Double JJ Ranch.
- Warner Bros. will celebrate 50 years of music-making with Covered: A Revolution in Sound, featuring many of the label’s newer talent taking on songs by Warner’s all-stars of the past. The covers include the Flaming Lips’ take on Madonna’s “Borderline,” the Black Keys version of Captain Beefheart’s “Her Eyes Are A Blue Million Miles” and Adam Sandler inexplicably covering Neil Young’s “Like A Hurricane.” The comp is out March 10th.
