  • Paul McCartney will help reopen the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino’s Joint in Las Vegas with a special concert on April 19th, says Pollstar. The show comes just days before Macca’s high-profile gig at Coachella. The Joint venue shut down this weekend in order to add new lighting and sound, plus double the venue’s capacity.
  • Troubled former Guns n’ Roses drummer Steven Adler will return to rehab. After failing to sufficiently complete his community service for a previous bust, TMZ reports Adler, who has appeared on VH1’s Celebrity Rehab and Sober House, was ordered back to rehab, this time without any cameras around.
  • While the Live Nation and Ticketmaster merger could be completed within the next few days, the new mega concert giant could face a long antitrust investigation before actually getting approval. According to Billboard.biz, both the Justice Department and the Federal Trade Commission would have to review the case, and Ticketmaster’s previous monopoly accusations could mean it might take up to a year for the merger to be completed.

Paul McCarrtney is scheduled to play the new Joint on April 19th (not the 14th). Which means he’s playing AFTER Coachella, not before.

Also, the new Joint is an entirely new building. not just the old venue, with an expansion.

There is no excuse for “Celebrity” rehab…ever

There should never be cameras around when someone is going through rehab.

Adler agreed to having cameras around twice — once in Celebrity Rehab and once in Sober House. The celbrities aren’t forced to be on camera — its something they choose to do way before they start rehab. I love both Celeb Rehab and Sober House and think they are good shows to show the unglamorous side of the rock and roll druggie lifestyle to youth.

Actually, I’m watching Sober House as I type this and Adler is watching a tape of himself on the show when he relapsed. He asked to see it and is moved by it. He said “I wasn’t the person I want to be.”

I wish him the best! He seems like a great guy.
