News Ticker: Slayer & Marilyn Manson, My Chemical Romance, Slash and Phil Spector

  • Slayer and Marilyn Manson will co-headline this year’s Rockstar Energy Mayhem Festival, kicking off July 10th in Sacramento, California, reports Blabbermouth. Bullet For My Valentine, Cannibal Corpse, Trivium and the Black Dahlia Murder will also take part in the traveling fest. Slayer and Manson last toured together in 2007.

  • A clip of My Chemical Romance covering Bob Dylan’s “Desolation Row” has hit YouTube. The song is the featured single and end-credits music for the upcoming film Watchmen.
  • Next month a Slash action figure based on his character in Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock will hit stores, Blabbermouth reports. The figurine is approximately 11 inches tall with 15 movable parts, and includes Slash’s trademark top hat.
  • The jury hearing the Phil Spector murder retrial will tour the producer’s mansion next week to check out the scene of the February 3rd, 2003 shooting death of actress Lana Clarkson. The AP reports that the judge in the trial ruled that Spector’s wife Rachelle must not be present during the tour.

But to a point.
Never mind, go ahead and take it really seriously. Like sit-ins kind of things are goin down in your future.
Because of a song.
Maybe a stand-in?
I think most people sit around anyways now, so a sit-in would be a little trivial.
But, yeah. MCR has created the greatest act of civil disobedience ever, in the post-y2k era.
