  • Kelly Clarkson’s next All I Ever Wanted single is rumored to be “(I Do Not) Hook Up,” a track co-written by Katy Perry and American Idol judge Kara DioGuardi roughly three years ago. Perry seems to be a major influence for Clarkson’s new album, as Kelly also used the “I Kissed a Girl” songwriting team for first single “My Life Would Suck Without You.”

  • Reps for AC/DC are denying Wrestling Edge’s report that the band will perform at this year’s Wrestlemania XXV on April 5th at Houston, Texas’ Relient Stadium.
  • Rapper Bun B is planning to release one last UGK album despite the death of partner Pimp C, who died in December 2007. 4 Life is due out March 31st. This will be a good bookend to the legacy of myself and Pimp,” Bun told MTV News.

The people who wrote “I Kissed A Girl” for Katy Perry worked YEARS ago with Clarkson on “Since You Been Gone.” I don’t know if Katy Perry is as much as an influence, as Clarkson is going back to the poppier sounds of Breakaway…

Totally agree Jenny. I hate when people compare Katy to Kelly. IMO, Kelly/P!nk are the original pop-rock singers. Along with P!nk, Kelly put Max and Luke back in the spotlight by working with them and singing hits like Since U Been Gone, U + Ur Hand, Behind These Hazel Eyes, and So What. Its a shame that newbie Perry is credited for a sound that was already invented by Kelly and P!nk

i totally agree with u Michael and jenny, P!nk and kelly r awesome, katy is new and just does wat she is told, kelly and p!ink have a say. so i think kelly would do a better job on the song that katy did on Hook Up!

Yeah, uh, please try ‘n keep your stories straight here, Rolling Stone. Kelly worked with Max and Luke LONG before the loudmouth drunk that is Katy Perry was around. There’s really no comparison between the two, so please don’t try. It just upsets me.

the thing is if someone co writes a song and someone else preforms it they are still that suck unless they are covering katy perry didnt record those song so kelly isnt stealing them this is just stupid if that were they case then kelly stole all the song ryan tedder help write from one republic

If anything, Katy Perry has been influenced by Kelly Clarkson. This isn’t to say that Katy isn’t talented–I’m just saying that the team that wrote “I Kissed a Girl” worked with Kelly Clarkson before anybody had even heard of Katy Perry, so get your facts right.

Kelly & P!nk should do a duet together. Hi, I’m a little OT here.

NYguy | 3/1/2009, 2:22 am EST

“i do not hook up” should not be a single. she has so many other great songs that are her style. they should think about that.

katy and kelly are both great influenced eachother but i have a question why shoulnd or should people buy her cds

KIKIkiks | 6/19/2009, 11:51 pm EST

Oh no…Rolling Stone check your facts. Kelly worked with Max and Luke LONG before Katy was even heard of. So if anything Katy is being influenced by Kelly!! You can’t compare these two anyway. The new album is fantastic, listen to the rest of it not just one song, and you’ll see there is no way it sounds like Katy Perry.
