50 Cent Mocks Kanye West’s “Love Lockdown” At Albany Concert

1/20/09, 12:47 pm EST

Did you know 50 Cent’s Before I Self Destruct is coming out February 3rd? Of course you did, because 50 has been on a verbal assault lately, dissing Lil Wayne by calling him a “junkie” and calling former West’s 808s & Heartbreak an “R&B album.” That news came and went, so 50 used a concert in Albany, New York to reignite his nonexistent feud with Kanye West. UPDATE: Evidently this video is from September, so 50 has been getting ready for this Destruct publicity blitzkrieg for quite some time.

“This is an exclusive,” the rapper told the crowd. “I want to perform for you the first single off my album Before I Self Destruct. I hope you all enjoy this.” Then the heartbeat percussion of Kanye’s “Love Lockdown” kicked in, with 50 mockingly lip-synching along with Kanye’s 808s single. 50 actually does a good job copycatting West, right down to Kanye’s onstage posturing. The song cuts out halfway through the first chorus, with Fiddy telling the crowd, “You see that. That’s what you’re stuck with.” The rapper adds, “I’m willing to accept your apologies for that last one.”

Rather than have this leak via the conventional cameraphone-to-YouTube route, the rapper’s own This Is 50 Website posted the video in an effort to make this clip as visible as possible. Which is probably necessary, as we’re only two weeks away from 50’s new album dropping and no one really seems to be talking about it that much. There’s more discussion about Eminem’s Relapse and Dr. Dre’s Detox, and neither of those discs even have release dates yet. As for Kanye, he has yet to respond to any of 50’s barbs, unlike during their September 11th, 2007 battle, when West’s Graduation and 50’s Curtis faced off during a memorable sales week. its funny, the whole crowd was singing, and when 50 noticed, he stopped….what a schmuck, he makes fun of Kanye, jacks his song to get momentum in a jumbled show, then he raps like he has marbles in his mouth…oh wait he always raps like that….what a poser hungry for attention…maybe thats what it is …mommy didnt pay 50 enough attention, so he trys to diss…what a yank

Steve | 1/20/2009, 3:13 pm EST

This is getting pretty pathetic. Maybe he can rename the album “Get Attention Or Die Trying.”

were not talking about us, were talking about 50s LATE OVERPLAYED NO INNOVATION HAVING, HATE ON EVERYBODY ATTITUDE….50 hasnt changed because he doesnt know how to innovate. Ye went from teddy bear (yeah he talked about school, or skool if your 50 and you cant spell) to a completely new style…. the good part about Ye, EVERY one of his songs are different as compared to 50 who sounds like a broken record…with marbles in his mouth…oh yeah 50 lifts weights…thats about all when it comes to anything good out of him…what have i done with my life…give me a break I could get shot for “street cred” too …ooooh I want to be like 50 and g-unit and Eminem, and be played out, stuck in a the idea “im gonna get rich or die trying”…my life hasn’t amounted to that crappy philosophy, thats for sure…

d-block | 1/20/2009, 4:53 pm EST

Get Attention or Die Trying. The story of his life. Stay in your lane 50, just fall back.

BA | 1/20/2009, 4:58 pm EST

Why has it taken people over 10 years (basically since biggie and tupac were murdered thus elevating them to superstars) that ALL RAPPERS create fake feuds to sell records. This is not new. Eminem built his whole career off of it (And Ja Rule tried to but inexplicably failed) I mean are people that blind to have not noticed this until now??

KanyeFan | 1/20/2009, 6:44 pm EST

50 raps like he has marbles in his mouth because he has pieces of shrapnel stuck in his tongue from being shot. I’m pretty sure we can let that slide, considering if you had bullet fragments inside of your tongue you would all talk like that too. Idiots. Secondly, I just defended 50 and I’m a Kanye fan over 50 any day of the week, and thats because Kanye talks about life. 50 cent is a different type of hip-hop/rap, he talks about being a “gangsta” and the lifestyle that it brings. Kanye West is not a “gangsta”, nor do they rap in the same style, way, or about the same things, so you cannot even compare them. 50 does so to promote his new album, and I guarantee the reason Kanye hasnt answered is because lets face it folks, money talks. The more 50 disses Kanye, the more controversy there is and vice-versa, thus making them each more money then they all would have had before the fued. And 50 is a sucessful business man and we can’t take that from him either. So everyone should probably use their intellect before making comments, or maybe atleast learn something about the music business. Long live Rolling Stone baby.

FunkyMF | 1/20/2009, 7:31 pm EST

Both 50 and Kanye can’t even compare to legends like Rakim, Chuck D., etc. They’re both a joke and a disgrace. They contribute to the death of hip hop and the stupidity of the youth.

REALkanyefan | 1/20/2009, 7:49 pm EST

Man ain’t nobody a Kanye fan cause nobody understands how deep his talent is. Just because you read up on 50 with gun shards in his tongue doesn’t mean he needs to rap like SHART. Boy I wish i had that street cred, but when it comes to the booth, Kanye would rip 50 another hole in his mouth. Kanye isnt talking $h!t because he’s not ignorant like 50. Kanye has better things to do with his time, like outsell EVERY album 50 came out with. 50 comes out with a hot joint once every 10 years…I can divide and that probably means I’m not an idiot. As far as “gangsta” 50 could hold a dimebag to any REAL gangsta rapper. Everyone know 50 is the type of rapper that’s played out, Jadakiss, Kanye, Jay-Z, Lyrics Born, Blackalicious, Talib K., MOs Def would all rip $.25 I meant 50 another mouth. 50 hasn’t “discovered” any new style or music other than the term “wangsta” which is funny, by his definition, thats what he is… as far as the d-bag talking about marbles in his mouth, hey if 50 is such a successful business man, tell him to get his mouth fixed, and why your at it, tell the Dr. Dre to tech him some style and originality…Kanye doesn’t have to talk smack to sell records, how about that for your music business class.

REALkanyefan | 1/20/2009, 8:00 pm EST

hmmm….sell records….did it work 4 curtis before?

kanye fan | 1/20/2009, 8:10 pm EST

Nayer | 1/21/2009, 8:13 am EST

Sad attempt to sell records, although not nearly as sad as his TV show, which he openly admits was a ploy to sell records. What a dickbag.

dutz | 6/30/2009, 3:36 am EST
