The Bird & the Bee, “Don’t Stop the Music” [Rihanna Cover]
This week’s quick-win chill generator: The Bird & The Bee re-imagine Rihanna’s nightclub hookup as some kind of eerie blue-light ’70s movie rendezvous, as scored by Kate Bush. Hooking up has never sounded so perilous.

Jamie Foxx ft. T-Pain, Busta Rhymes & Lil Wayne, “Blame It” [Remix]
What’s going to be just as fascinating as Lil Wayne’s ascent is watching him run out of clever sentence constructions and beginning his steady, inevitable decline. His verse on this remix is the first step in that direction.

Kanye West vs. Luniz, “I Got 5 On It” [DJ Fabian Heartless Short Edit]
Kanye gets mixed-up with mid-’90s rap also-rans Luiz, for a track that should satisfy anyone aggravated that 808s didn’t have enough rapping.

Andrew WK, “Bohemian” [Yumi Katsuragi Cover]
It doesn’t matter that you won’t know the J-pop source material (we didn’t); this gonzo fist-pumping number will fit your next Atari party just fine.

Hayley Davis, “Sex on Fire” [Kings of Leon Cover]
It’s official: no matter the context, these lyrics will always sound ridiculous.

The Haley Davis – Sex On Fire cover is horrible. Not worth listening to the whole song. Just take my advice, probably not worth listening to at all.

Brennan, are you a complete twat? That cover is fucking awesome…. you sound like a bit of a dick head to be honest. The only reason people post on here is to say shit stuff. Whats the point!

SOF...we only need one... | 1/16/2009, 10:35 pm EST

That cover of SOF did wonders! I love KOL but couldn’t get into SOF…but after hearing that slow and silly sounding version, it made me appreciate the brothers + 1 version all the more! lol

WTF are you on about? | 1/17/2009, 5:06 am EST

Why are retards allowed to post on here?? Everyones a critic. The track is brilliant, if you dont like it, then you must have something wrong with you.

I love the SOF cover. Great job! Also you’ve spelt her name wrong.

LOVE IT | 1/17/2009, 9:18 am EST

Whats with people not liking it? It’s sooooo good, I am in love with it!! Her other song on the myspace is pretty good too!

SOF - better than the original | 1/17/2009, 9:35 am EST

She’s a talented girl. Whether or not the lyrics are silly is not really her problem. Sillier songs have been covered before now, and that is one fabulous cover.

The Devil | 1/17/2009, 11:38 am EST

Ignore Brennan and take a listen to Hayley’s cover of Sex On Fire with an open mind. It’s a spine chilling interpretation of a great song.

The SOF cover seems to have generated quite a debate. For what it’s worth I’ve had it on constantly since first downloading it and it gets better each time I play it. Hayley you go girl.

Damien | 1/21/2009, 8:58 am EST
