  • Elvis Costello will headline this year’s Telluride Bluegrass Festival, taking place June 18-21st in Colorado’s San Juan Mountains. The 36th annual fest will also feature Emmylou Harris, Bela Fleck, the Dixie Chicks’ Martie Maguire, the “King of Telluride” Sam Bush and many more.

  • Gary Kurfirst, a manager for artists like the Talking Heads, Ramones and Jane’s Addiction died yesterday at the age of 60. Kurfirst is also responsible for staging the New York Rock Festival in 1968, which featured Jimi Hendrix, the Doors, the Who and Janis Joplin. Kurfirst also was a producer on the Talking Heads’ Stop Making Sense.
  • Damon Albarn took a day off from the Blur reunion to play DJ on BBC Radio yesterday. Albarn played three Gorillaz demos intended for the cartoon band’s third LP. The still-embryonic songs were called “Broken,” “Electric Shock” and “Binge.” Albarn plans to travel to Syria in March to work on the Gorillaz project.
  • Sharon Osbourne accepted libel damages — an apology and an undisclosed amount of money — after winning her case against a British newspaper that claimed she was driving husband Ozzy Osbourne “to destruction.” “Sharon will keep Ozzy on the road until, like Tommy Cooper, he dies onstage,” The Sun wrote in 2007.
