With four days of holiday weekend to kill, we asked our readers to plunge into the tumultuous world of music video streaming and tell us their favorite videos of 2008. The Killers fans have been rabid since we started hitting up our readers for “Best of” lists, so it should be no surprise that the Las Vegas band’s “Human” topped our Readers’ Best Video list (even though no one here at Rock Daily particularly liked that video — therefore it’s not featured above.) But where did Radiohead’s laser-drawn “House of Cards” video, Kanye West’s roto-scoped clip for “Heartless” and a pair of Kings of Leon videos land? Dim the lights, turn off all cellular phones and check out our mini-film festival for the Readers’ List of the Top 20 Music Videos of 2008.

I didn’t vote for the Killers’ Human although I really do like the Killers. The video was good but just not my fav for 08….however, Rolling Stone could be respectful about it. I mean to state that you won’t you the video on the opening screen because none of you like it…hey, we know you all don’t like much of anything the Killers do, so there is no need to repeat that.
Also, it’s true, allot of Killers’ fans voted, but if the magazine and others don’t like it then they should not make the votes open and they should require everyone to log in to vote. Other wise….what’s the issue?
Anyway, Viva La Vida is my choice for video of the year….but I still had to just say something about RS and how they are just too obviously rude when it comes to the Killers. You don’t have to like them, but don’t be so pius.
moodyg | 12/29/2008, 7:46 pm EST
….and I mean pius in regards to how snotty you all are when it comes to music…like your opiniion is just the end all be….obviously, it’s not…
moodyg | 12/29/2008, 7:53 pm EST
Wow. That’s all I’ll say.
suada | 12/29/2008, 8:29 pm EST
you guys just have no idea how many killers fans there are…and you are pissing off some of them right now *shakes fist*
oorstevie | 12/29/2008, 9:12 pm EST
the killers have killer videos that kill the competition with a killer style and a killer approach to music in the all to tough killing fields of the music industry that kills off creativity by killing the…the…the…agh! Enough…this is killing me!
Jeff | 12/29/2008, 9:48 pm EST
…there were music videos in 2008?
sandy | 12/29/2008, 11:15 pm EST
Wow Rolling Stone, the fans sure have proven how out of touch you are by putting The Killers at the top of all your lists. The last issue of your magazine (which featured The Killers) was the first one I have bought in a very long time. If you actually were smart enough to feature a picture of The Killers on your cover, I might actually consider becoming a subscriber again.
mimosa | 12/29/2008, 11:45 pm EST
rolling stone is annoying while trying to disguise your rude remarks towards the killers, you guys are losing readers and “fans” of your magazine. you guys suck ass rolling stone.
so i hope you know that since it proves there are thousands of killers fans and thus how many fans you’ve lost.
THE KILLERS WON WOOOOO
good job guys.
Here's the thing, kiddies | 12/30/2008, 12:01 am EST
And when you understand this, it will be a miracle: the Killers album is selling like crap. So obviously there’s just a few vocal fans bombarding this site with comments. Because if there was truly an army of powerful Killers fans out there, perhaps they’d have a chance of going platinum sometime this decade with Day & Age.
Heres the thing, haters. | 12/30/2008, 1:17 am EST
And you’ll probably understand this when hell freezes over:
Day & Age is definitely NOT selling like crap, so get your facts straight. Just a few fans? The Killers have a huge, solid, powerful, caring, and intelligent fan base. Just because your not a fan does not mean everyone else in the world is not. Day & Age has sold over one million copies, which is pretty amazing considering its been out for 4 weeks. They are already platinum in some parts of the world, double platinum in the UK.
I know an argument is not necessary, but I’m just defending my boys and what I believe in
Im glad they made it to the top once again!

Only Killers fans visit this site or what the fuck is going on? Maybe 2008 sucked… a lot!
JSuzart | 12/30/2008, 9:05 am EST
Only Killers’ fans visit rollingstone.com, or maybe a group geeks are pissed off because the new Killers material didn’t appear in any critics list (I don`t know the reason…!?!?!·$%) or WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON?
maybe 2008 sucked… a lot!
BOB | 12/30/2008, 5:05 pm EST
new killer’s album blows and is not selling well.
Maybe it’s the shit chorus on human or the chicken feather jackets.
Hot fuss ruled.
Leanie | 12/30/2008, 8:07 pm EST
I did not vote for the Killers in any of the voters choice categories, but I have been a huge fan since Hot Fuss. The Killers have only been getting bigger and better since then. I am sorry to hear that you all, at Rock Daily, did not like the video and chose not to highlight it. But that is true with almost all of RS. Finally the Killers get a feature in this most recent issue, and Brad Pitt is on the cover. I hardly think that his musical talents/contributions earn him that honor. I used to subscribe to RS for years. But what’s the point really? You guys are completely biased and unfair.

Dear Rolling Stone and Rock Daily,
Did you ever think that maybe your readers might really be trying to tell you something when they vote the Killers to the top of these lists?
Perhaps you might want to consider who is taking the time to read and vote?
Maybe you could possibly reconsider the substandard categories that you have consistenly put the Killers into?
Your readers are trying to tell you something here…
wake the hell up and listen.

“even though no one here at Rock Daily particularly liked that video — therefore it’s not featured above.”
So I guess this shows how much you care about your own readers opinions, Rolling Stone?! Wow. I don´t even have to be a fan of the killers to find your attitude disrespectful and pathetic.
lame!!!!! | 12/31/2008, 12:43 pm EST
Killers fans sound so lame on these boards.
What does the typical killers fan look like anyway? My guess is they are all nerdy teenagers who used to listen to fall out boy and my chemical romance.
The only thing that could possibly allow someone to like the new album is delusion. You all really wanted it to be good and are unable to see or admit that it is not. The Killers lost all of the edge(think jenny) and melody from their Hot Fuss sound.
There is not a more boring band in music today.
Human=crap single.

killers fan’s you need to stop bitching you have won every single readers choice so just be happy and stop your complaining, maybe that’s why no one likes killers fans because they can’t be happy about shit
moioi | 12/31/2008, 3:14 pm EST
rolling stone doesn’t count spammed votes…it’s one vote per person….so the killers did actually win. meaning they must have a large fanbase. this is a readers’ poll, so why is rolling stone not listening to the readers? i don’t understand that. :s
on another topic, i don’t see why people are adament that only hot fuss is good.
lorena | 1/1/2009, 1:30 pm EST
you people here at rs are just pathetic….no offence, just the truth
that’s all i have to say
Duffy Duck II | 1/1/2009, 5:10 pm EST
Killers still rule Screw u all
Kerishma | 1/1/2009, 11:14 pm EST
I find it really amusing how so many people are bashing the Killers fans who commented here…RD doesn’t count spammed votes, so the Killers really did win. And I am rather fond of the new album; I don’t see why so many people have to insult it so harshly? But for best video, I did like Viva La Vida better (the version where Chris Martin was dressed like a king).
But congrats to the Killers for winning 4 of the readers’ choice awards! (RS could be more respectful though).
JSuzart | 1/4/2009, 12:35 pm EST
Wait!!! This is an award? Killers Fans are really really lame. This turns very nerdy and sick!
