Why cover “Womanizer,” asks All-American Rejects‘ Tyson Ritter? “Because of its deep political connotations? No. It’s because we can do it better than Britney.” Then the frontman breaks out the polka-style hand organ and the band digs into an eerie acoustic rendition of Spears’ hit from Circus (with a dash of “Happy Together”). Toss Madonna and a mustache in there, and Tyson is the new Eugene Hutz (of Gogol Bordello fame). Watch the performance (from Yahoo!’s Pepsi Smash show) above. Extra points to the band for using beer bottles as percussion.

Frickin’ amazing.
poojinator | 1/29/2009, 10:54 pm EST
Wow some of y’all took that way too seriously. It’s obviously just them kidding around, holy crap. If The Rolling Stones ever did a Madonna cover, they’d probably be extradited because people like you have no sense of humor.
And just ’cause someone listens to things on the radio doesn’t mean they don’t listen to anything else…
P.S.
Covers have been done for a very, very long time. That doesn’t mean you’re too lazy to write something of your own.

This is awful, I’m not a big fan of Britney but, she defiantly did her song better. This just sounds like whining.
All American Sellouts | 12/27/2008, 3:41 am EST
So repeating commercial crap with obscure instruments all the while raping the title of Gypsy Punk makes this a good song? F*ck you. I should never in my wildest dreams have entered gypsy punk and find a damn Bitchney Spears cover for anything! It’s not f*cking ironic, it’s not f*cking creative, it’s ringing sh*t into people’s ears and having them all believe that pouring more money into this is a “Good idea”. If The Rolling Stones ever did this with a Madonna cover, they would have been extradited from the rock and roll hall of fame. F*ck Bitchney, F*ck these rejects, and F*ck you for not listening to anything else then what’s presented to you on the radio. “School of Seven Bells”. Begin to listen and not just accept. LISTEN!!!!

Is there any way I could get a recording of this? This is amazing.
Anonymous | 12/23/2008, 3:06 pm EST
Nah it just proves that people are getting to lazy to right their own songs anymore. Its easy to copy or make fun of someone else. They lost some points in my book for stooping to that level.
Caitlin | 12/22/2008, 11:39 pm EST
