Nice list! That LCD Soundsystem song was one of my favorites this year. Rock on, Christian Hoard.

Pretty meh list, but I’m glad to see Distortion get some love.

All these choices just seem so disposable to me. It’s like the hipsters get together and decide which artists they’ll like for the year.

2008 was an incredible year for music if you listen to all kinds of tunes… From The KNUX - Santo - MGMT - Estelle - Bloc Party - Gnarls - The Death Set - Portishead - Raveonettes - Beck - Sebastien Grainger, The Blk Keys, Dead Confed, Blk Mntn, Walkmen, The KNUX, The KNUX, etc…

Man, what a shitty year in music.

Apparently, 2008 was the new 2005. Robyn’s disc came out that year, as well (although, granted, not in the States).

All good picks, but what gives, RS? Surely there must have been a couple made-in-’08 albums that deserved an honourable mention.

Dusty Foot Philosopher came out in 2005. Agreed that is is an excellent album though. K’Naan’s back story is pretty crazy too.
