Paul Stanley needs to put together a good comprehensive book af all his artwork so far. Probably in a 12″x12″ format, with explanations of how each painting or drawing evolved. This reasonably priced guidebook would give fans a chance to catch-up on Paul’s career without going broke buying expensive wall prints. Roger Dean and H.R.Giger already have several good volumes out.
Something to get excited about while we hope and wait for the inevitable reunion.

Plain and simple: KISS was fantastic in their early years, 1973-1977. After Love Gun, the merchandise was almost literally outselling the records. All the music just flopped. They became a friggin’ circus act: child friendly. Before Gene pimped out the KISS logo and place his nose firmly in the ass of every hustler that wanted their name, KISS was a no-nonsence, gritty, dirty, sleazy, balls-to-the-wall rock and roll band. Sex, tour stress, and dreams of stardom was the KISS we all love.

What Gene also forgets is that Ace Frehley, a true Les Paul emperor, designed the most famous rock logo in the history of music; that to this day he holds a price tag over. Peter had a unique form of drumming, if not technical, and his whiskey voice tops Eric Singer’s attempts of high ranged crooning. Tommy Thayer’s guitar playing will never match the Space Ace he so terribly trys to mimick.

Gene has to learn that the sheer boyhood luck he’s had from starting as a poor schmuck in Israel to becoming a rich snotty billionare in the U.S gives him no right to remain in his egotisitcal paradise. By the way, this is the same ego Gene says he can’t control.

All I know is they started writing in March and were done recording in June. An album thrown together that fast will suck every time. Get ready for the big disappointment.

Who says a reunited Kiss can’t perform some of the great post original line-up Kiss songs? If the scabs can play the classics, Peter and Ace can cover some of the later stuff. I’d love to hear “Reason To Live”, “Lick It Up”, “Tears”, and “Live To Win” during the hopeful upcoming U.S. reunion tour. The later Kiss stuff typically features big, repeated choruses, and suffers from a lack of good lead guitar work. Ace was the master of incorporating great lead work “throughout” the early Kiss songs. The scab guitarists play scrambled blues riffs over a verse, usually towards the end of the song. Singer and Thayer sound tinty and thin. When are Gene and Paul going to realize that Kiss is a four man effort like the Beatles. George Harrison is seldom given any credit, but wihout him it would only have been good, not great. I’d love to hear what Ace Frehley could add to “Live To Win”. C’mon guys, Kiss and Make-up!

Gene’s right. Everyone can get the music for free. I wish it was like the old day’s where we had to go buy the cd. Rock band’s dont wanna put their heart and soul and hard work in something that comes free…they had to work for the song….so we should have to work and pay for the song.

The current lineup maybe able to put together songs that are more technically proficient than the original lineup could produce. That’s not what KISS fans want. There is a certain vibe that the original four create which flows from their wide ranging personalities and that cannot be duplicated by session players filling in for the founding members. There is only one KISS: Gene, Paul, Peter and Ace. There will be no future reunions, but the fans cannot be deprived of the memories created by the original four in the 1970’s, 1990’s and for an abreviated tour in 2000. That’s the BEST KISS.

ok kiss fans. I love KISS. I have been a fan for years. But we gotta face facts, Ace and Peter are probably never coming back. and i dont blame them for how they are treated by gene. Ace is hands down the best guitarist KISS has ever had. and Peter gives them their signature KISS sound. so all i can hope is gene and paul get their shit together and offer Ace and Peter a fair cut of the money and come out with a solid album that has the sound of destroyer, hotter than hell, and rock and roll over combined!

What this is really all about is MONEY! Peter really got ripped-off
last time, and the bitterness is showing. The 2 new stooges that Simmons and Stanley have hired are content to take a small cut. Peter and Ace want an equal cut, and they’re GREEDY too. Paul Frehley is one of the greatest guitar players in the world. Let me tell you a story.
In December, 1976, Kiss came to Lakeland, Florida to give a concert. During the opening number, Detroit Rock City, Ace received an electrical shock, and tumbled down the stairs. It looked like the guy was dead! Paul bravely carried on, actually playing BOTH parts of the duel lead solo, obviously not aware of how seriously Ace was hurt. Sadly, most of the fans were too stoned to realize that it wasn’t part of the show. The house lights went on and there was a 30 minute delay. The fans kept chanting, “Ace, Ace, Ace!” Suddenly Ace appeared, and the crowd went nuts. He went on to play one of the greatest shows ever, I know, I was there! He can play circles around his imitators, and nobody has ever been able to copy his sound; The sound that made Kiss famous. If Simmon’s seems concerned about getting paid for making a new album because of MP3, well he’s just going to have to give the fans something they can’t steal over the computer: Like a water-marked mail-in certificate to be eligible to win the massive 6′x 6′ album cover painting by Paul Stanley! They could do the drawing right there on stage in Madison Square Garden! It would be like winning $300,000! Peter could come out and draw the winning ticket, and the concert could be broadcasted live on VH1 Classic. But that may be asking much too much of Paul, it might take him ten whole minutes to paint it!

It’s a relief that Paul Stanley is talking about going back to making records and getting out of the visual arts. His paintings are absolutely atrocious! To think that people have been spending large amounts of their hard earned money for that garbage. I knew a guy who spent $350 for a print of “The Cosmic Hand” and wound up using the thing for toilet paper.
It looked like a 4th grader did it.
And to think that his artwork keeps going up in value! Investors are buying up Paul’s work just to make money, they couldn’t possibly want to hang it on their walls!
Concerning talk of an upcoming Kiss reunion: It’s got to be the four original guys or it won’t go anywhere! It’s got to go back to the hard original edge it started out with. Kiss’s stage show is so over polished now it looks like something you would see at Disney World! The stage is too big and over lit. What ever happened to the four greasy guys who wore S&M outfits, played at 160db, and used real fire? Simmons needs to go back to spitting blood during 100,000 years. He needs to go back to the gritty driving sound of his Gibson Grabber. Get rid of the whole pompous God of Thunder cable routine and those silly halloween costumes. We want real leather!
Peter Criss is the essence of the real Kiss. Every drummer you talk to will cut him down, but nobody can play quite like Peter. It’s not about his technical skills, it’s the feeling he puts into his playing. Peter Criss is the most brutal drummer that ever lived. Without Peter, Kiss doesn’t have it’s destructive edge. No Criss, No Kiss! Equally important is Ace Frehley. The master of the Les Paul, Ace like Peter is a feel player. Once again guitar players will put him down, calling him simplistic, but nobody can produce or handle such enormous wattage quite the way he does. And Paul needs to get rid of the glitter, smash his Iceman on the ground, and go back to his all white Gibson Flying V and Marshall stacks. In short, bring back the 1974 Hotter Than Hell Tour! Give today’s kids a chance to see the REAL KISS! Not that pathetic 1996 Love Gun rehash. That’s it: THE 2009 RETURN TO HELL TOUR!!! Fasten your seat belts!

KISS need new material. Almost Every concert has the same set list opening with something like deuce or strutter and always closing with rock n’ roll all nite. Rock n roll is a life style, you cant just play it but not live it. And KISS have too many sold out songs like every song in the set list and kiss are a bit too self indulged. Simmons and Stanley killed kiss.. I personally know Eric Carr’s parents and the stories they told me are crazy. Simmons and Stanley are control freaks and 5th graders with egos to big to support their mentality. It’s no wonder they could never keep any band members. Even Eric Carr was gearing up to leave the band and go solo.. The S & S were nearly impossible to work with.. They are complete fools. They need to give it up and crawl under a rock and die already. Gene Simmons once said, “he who dies with the most toys wins.” So maybe he should take all his money and toys and go crash a plane somewhere and consider it finished. Nuff said..

With Paul calling all the shots,expect an album along the lines of “Crazy Nights”,or “Animalize”. These too were recorded at a time when Gene’s attention was focused elsewhere…

For the life of me I never understood why Paul and Gene just didn’t create “new” Kiss characters instead of the fake Cat and Ace. I mean, these guys love money and from a marketing standpoint they would be able to sell a TON of new merchandise with the new characters images on it.

While “Family Jewels” is horribly addicting when watched, Gene Simmons and his “only in it for the money” philosophy has totally turned me off to anything about KISS. So good luck Paul, saw all of you in the late 70’s when your solo albums came out, and you did an appearence in a record store in Pittsburgh, was so much fun. Too bad the greed has taken Gene.

Poor Paul has been putting up with Gene’s antics for too long. The really smart thing to do would be to replace Gene and get Ace and Peter back. Bring in Dennis Dunaway to play bass and put Eddie Kramer behind the analog desk again. Stay away from Ezrin….. and don’t put one of your paintings on the cover.

I love KISS…but Gene is such a greedy jerk (sticking Kiss’ on everything that could sell) that he has made me dislike him so much I would not buy any KISS albums or see a fake KISS tour (No Paul. No Ace. no KISS!)

But I am sure that we will one day see another reunion tour and then Gene will bitch about it (after he cashs his last residual check that is)!

Someone needs to remind these guys that they never made good music to begin with. They were great performers and that’s where it ends. Nobody wants to hear a mediocre band recreate less than mediocre music.

Kiss is probably the most popular band in rock history, why…. because of their attitude. Yo Gene i know how you can make some more money make the new album!!!!!
