- OutKast’s Andre 3000 is among those being sued for $2 million by a former art student who claims Andre’s Cartoon Network show Class of 3000 infringes copyright. Timothy McGee claims he proposed the idea of the show to Cartoon Network in 1997 with the idea of having singer Babyface in 3000’s role.
- The Motion Picture Academy has reportedly reversed its decision to make The Dark Knight score ineligible for the 2009 Oscars. The Academy initially said the film had too many composers — five in total — credited.
- Elmer Valentine, the co-founder of Los Angeles landmarks like the Whisky A Go Go, the Roxy and Rainbow Bar & Grill, died last week after a bout with several ailments. He was 85. Many of L.A.’s most popular clubs dimmed their lights in Valentine’s honor on December 5th.
- Drummer Josh Freese has revealed why he’s leaving Nine Inch Nails at tour’s end: He’s expecting his third child in January. “I am not leaving because I got a better offer from another band or because I don’t enjoy it… It’s one of my favorite situations I’ve ever been involved with and I already miss it.”
