  • After touring the bulk of 2008, Trent Reznor told fans that Nine Inch Nails would likely cease touring “for the foreseeable future” following their 2009 concerts. “Forgive me for having a Kanye West moment,” Reznor wrote, “but this was FOR SURE the best show of the year.”
  • A film about the life of original AC/DC singer Bon Scott is reportedly in the works. While the role of Scott has not been cast, actor Tom Budge is favored to play Angus Young.
  • Tori Amos has inked a new record deal with Universal Republic and will deliver her 10th album in 2009.
  • Britney Spears will get a belated birthday gift as her Circus is on pace to top next week’s sales charts. The album sold 219,000 copies on its first day.

Agreed. The NIN tour was sonically and visually a treat.

NIN rocked an amazing show – now we are treated to the Britney disaster… I can’t believe people still buy that crap.

NIN tour was great. He did an amazing job at the show! Too bad we will not get to have a DVD.

NO band, NO one person compares to Trent Reznor’s genuine passion and talent. This tour was the best artistic expression of a the genious Trent.. and his band kicked a*s too! We will all miss Josh.

It’s a shame that the NIN Lights In the Sky DVD won’t be released because of Interscope (and in a much bigger sense, Universal Music).

The Lights In The Sky tour, which I went to two shows (Lollapalooza on August 3rd and Voodoo Fest on the 25th) were simply stunning. I think that the only other tour to rival it, and in my opinion, slightly surpass it was Radiohead’s In Rainbows tour.

A true shame what happened to the tour DVD…they generally fucked over Mr. Reznor.

What is NIN? Who is Trent Reznor?

PHOENIXAMAZON | 12/5/2008, 12:13 pm EST

But do you think anyone in the media will recognize how truly ground decimating the NIN tour was. NO. Will anyone in the media acknowledge that NIN had the best tour of the year, and probably for the last few years? NO. Will the print or electronic media speak about how technologically and sonically stellar this tour was. NO. Do you know what they will do? They will heap tons of praise on some un creative no talent hacks and think that they are speaking the gospel truth about this year’s concert season.

It was indeed the BEST show of the year. And NIN are the best thing out there right now, who else has the confidence to give away their music

Just got back from my second round with the Lights In The Sky Tour – one of the most amazing moments I’ve ever witnessed on a stage. It blew my brains out, scooped them back up and shoved them back on my neck. And where was he playing??? Somewhere between Vancouver and Alberta we call Kelowna – do you think he played this minuscule venue in order to get back to fans, or because his band doesn’t have the weight it did back in the 90’s?

Trent Reznor = Underrated

I hope Interscope records burns to the ground.

NIN was amazing, was my first concert too and i’ll never forget the lighting and the great show they put on. They definately had the best show

Trent is definetly a true artist, some may not understand his work, or enjoy it as much as I do, but you have to agree that he is more than a musician. He has never proclaimed to have it all together, but somehow he keeps doing AMAZING things, and only he can get away with it as a one man band. All those other “artists” need to be schooled by him!
