Creed Reunion Taking Shape

The rumored Robert Plant-less Led Zeppelin tour might spawn another unexpected reunion. With Alter Bridge singer Myles Kennedy in the running to take over Plant’s duties, his bandmates will reportedly reconnect with singer Scott Stapp to reform Creed, which disbanded back in 2004.

According to reports, “significant dollars” are on the table for a proposed Creed reunion tour. However, a spokesperson says “There have been some talks, but it would be premature to comment on them at this time.” Since their breakup, Creed’s guitarist, bassist and drummer put out two albums as Alter Bridge with Kennedy, while Stapp released a solo record in 2005. If the reunion should happen, and sources say an announcement is “imminent,” a tour will likely follow in 2009, meaning that America will have to carry the heavy burden of both Creed and Nickelback touring the nation at the same time.

Their first album was one of my favorites when I was in high school. I put it in the other day and theres still some great songs on it. Theres also some good songs scattered about their other albums. Scott did turn into a total douche. I imagine what their new sound would be

Biggest selling band of the late 90’s and early 00’s. Not suprising they would reunite. People can hate all they want, but they have a lot of fans.

absolutely horrible – maybe they can tour with Bush, two of the worst bands EVER. Creed does not have a lot fans, they have a lot of sheep with no taste in music.

Maybe SA Martinez from 311 can beat Stapps ass again to keep them from touring.

I saw STP this fall, and only half the seats were filled. I’d say Creed will fill 1/4 of the seats. If it keeps up, Fall Out Boy will break up, reunite and play to an empty house. That’d be awesome.

Alter Bridge kicks ass. How about the band just take some time off for a few – work on new material and when Miles is ready – have him sing over the songs – heck thats how the first A.B. CD was written. Scott Stapp sucks. if I ever see him raise his arms out like he’s Christ again I’m gonna puke.

gnrbuckeye | 12/2/2008, 4:36 pm EST

Im a die hard Alter Bridge fan a former creed fan from back in my high school days and i hope to god this doesnt happen! Just when AB had established some credibility in the rock n roll mainstream they consider doing something like this. Scott Stapp is the kiss of death. This makes me very very depressed as an AB fan. Please dont!

dcs | 12/2/2008, 8:11 pm EST

Seriously this is the most random thing ever. I used to be a huge Creed fan, but Scott Stapp was such a jerk to Mark and Brian. Mark wrote every Creed song except for the lyrics to With Arms Wide Open. Mark Tremonti is basically the only real talent in Creed or in Alter Bridge. I say Mark should just start doing his own stuff Joe Satriani style. Now that would be amazing. This is suicide for Mark’s career as a guitarist. What is he thinking??????!!!!

karma | 12/3/2008, 6:16 am EST

Where’s al qaeda when you need ‘em?

damncreedsucks | 12/3/2008, 8:21 am EST

God creed blows, it doesnt take much talent to play the same chords every song and change the words. We suffer enough with nickleback. Both of these bands just rewrite their old songs and they both suck. So generic.

Anonymous | 12/3/2008, 9:30 am EST

So we have to wait 24 years to see Diamond Dave with Van Halen, but only 4 for Creed. Is it me or are a lot of these bands (STP and Creed) that have just broke up rushing back quickly to cash in on the reunion.

Natch | 12/3/2008, 9:51 am EST

I heard Obama is behind this. Good job America! McCain was going to make Scott Stapp “disappear”.

Here’s the funny thing:
You know you all are going to check out this reunion regardless! Especially the ones who are saying ‘Please God No. Scott Stapps a Douche! Creed Sucks!’ Why? Curiosity…Because you all own Creed CD’s some where and some of you even have SS’s solo work in your closets! Watch it not suck! LMAO

DRG | 12/3/2008, 3:02 pm EST

I’d love to see Creed tour and maybe come up with some new material or a new album for that matter… Alter Bridge is ok, but by NO MEANS can compare to CREED…!!! Sorry……….No Way!

Alright, all you haters, knock it off. I didn’t see this ever happening and I’m actually quite pleasently surprised. Saw these guys at Polaris Amphitheatre in 2002 with my best friend. Great concert experience. Yeah Scott Stapp screwed up, but don’t we all mess up every once in a while. (Respond to this with some F bomb rant and I’ll kick all of your butts)

Anonymous | 12/3/2008, 7:24 pm EST

You people need to fuck off, Stapp can sing. Creed was good, if you don’t like it, then why bother reading this article and ruining it for the fans of the band?

fvaldes7 | 12/3/2008, 7:26 pm EST

what’s next? a Limp Bizkit reunion. Creed suck ass.

Wow… there goes my positive outlook for 2009 already.

Arc | 12/4/2008, 1:30 am EST

Well since recent interviews with Mark and Miles have them saying that Alter Bridge is the band they want to retire with, I can’t imagine where this story came from.

Finch | 12/4/2008, 10:07 am EST

Ok….I can’t help it…I’M EXCITED ABOUT THIS!!! CREED was awesome back in the day and I believe they can be awesome again. Yes, Scott really screwed up and so did all of us when we were young. Isn’t their a chance here that maybe he has grown up too. I can’t believe that any former CREED members would reunite with someone who is still screwed up. Their music was good stuff. I will be the first in line for tickets!!!

john P | 12/5/2008, 3:06 pm EST

creed is the best band in the world

Lex | 12/5/2008, 4:05 pm EST

I wonder what kind of music these haters listen to that’s so much better??

Phillips is a great drummer. Tremonti is awesome on guitar. I liked Brett playing bass, but Marshall is good, too. And Stapp has a solid voice.

Sounds like some people need to get over themselves….wow.

Mills | 12/5/2008, 6:38 pm EST

What a bunch of cry babies…

AB was a good band, but nowhere near the following that Creed had/HAS.

Stapp screwed up, took time off, hopefully is back on track. The rest of the band has some serious talent. One of the BEST rock bands ever, if you don’t think so then you are smoking something.

I never thought this would happen, I’m happy and hope they can make the come back and put out some new material. You all know you have old Creed CD’s stashed away somewhere. Probably pulling them out right now to listen to them again.

Josh | 12/5/2008, 8:52 pm EST

Alter Bridge > Creed

If this reunion does happen, I hope it’s only for touring purposes. While I don’t like Creed, I can see how other might, so a reunion tour would be cool for their fans. But when you boil it down to the nuts and bolts, Alter Bridge is the better band and should be the one that take precedence in the shared members musical lives.

nooo | 12/5/2008, 9:44 pm EST

well I tried to sell my old creed albums, maybe this will make them more valuable (probably not) so I can finally get rid of them for good.

anonymous | 12/6/2008, 5:30 pm EST

Alter Bridge is a far better band than Creed ever was, musically AND lyrically. Myles can out-sing Stapp any day of the week. Yeah, I liked Creed back in the day, but their singles were just cookie-cutter, made for radio. So what if Alter Bridge isn’t as popular or well-known as Creed was? Alter Bridge makes far better music, due to the fact that they don’t have a lead singer with a bloated ego who leaves no room for Tremonti, Flip, or Marshall to show their true artistic talents. Tremonti has stated in recent interviews more than a few times that a Creed reunion is out of the question, that Alter Bridge is the band he is going to retire with. Some may have forgotten that Stapp is the reason why Brian Marshall left Creed after the Human Clay album; Brian basically didn’t agree with the lyrics that Stapp was writing. As if Marshall is going to enjoy playing songs now that he didn’t enjoy playing 10 years ago. Lest people forget that after One Day Remains, Tremonti and Flip had to buy out their contract with Wind-Up records with their own money, because Wind-Up “just wanted Creed back”, and the money that Creed made! That’s why AB signed with Universal Republic, Wind-Up wasn’t promoting or supporting Alter Bridge AT ALL. I seriously doubt any member of Alter Bridge is back in talks with Wind-Up; Universal Republic supports AB’s musicality, and their vision as a band. That all said, I really hope these internet rumors stay just that, rumors, in regards to Creed reforming. Alter Bridge has too much to lose just to sell out and make a quick buck with Stapp.

Sam | 12/6/2008, 9:35 pm EST

Creed was AWESOME! I really hope that they can have a reunion…

Robert | 12/7/2008, 12:54 am EST

YES! (dose happy dance) lol. my favorite band is coming back together. I personally also like alter bridge also but creed is still my favorite. unfortionatlly for alter bridge, there singer ruined some of the songs. if somebody else was singing it, the songs would be greater hits. unfortonitly for me, I just found this out today the 6th. I heard tickets sales are going to be outragus, but it will be worth it. maybe they will come out with a new album! (crossing my fingers) it going to be great.

yes | 12/7/2008, 2:44 am EST

now all the white trash people that went to my high school can go out and buy a cd again

Alter Creed | 12/8/2008, 6:52 am EST

Here’s what it comes down to:

Myles Kennedy has a MUCH better voice than Stapp. His range is phenominal, and he ALWAYS hits his notes on key, even live in concert. However, Myles is NO WHERE NEAR as charismatic and NO WHERE HEAR as good at getting a crowd going at Scott Stapp is.

So, Myles Kennedy is a better singer. Scott Stapp is a better frontman.

Personally, I’d prefer the combination of Mark’s ripping guitar riffs from Alter Bridge (Ties That Bind….WOW), with Scott Stapp’s anthemic melodies with his deeper, more gritty sounding voice. That combination would be the best. We’ll call it Alter Creed.

I’ll still go to a Creed concert, though.

Robert | 12/8/2008, 3:55 pm EST

lol, you can say whatever you want about the alter bridge singer, but NOBODY IS PERFECT. but I will admite, ties that bind is my favorite alter bridge song. but certain songs I cringe durring certain parts. unfortionitlly I was really liking the songs till that point. his range might be bigger then stapps, but sometimes it just isn’t right. this is just my opion so do get super mad at me. I also hade no clue about stapps frontman abilitys. so I don’t know everything, and I’ll probally learn alot more about both singers as time gose on.

Nazi Zombies | 12/8/2008, 7:13 pm EST

We need more rock gods like this to tour to revive rock & roll you idiots. Who cares what they do, all I know is that Creed made the best music, Alter Bridge and Scott Stapp’s solo work was also good. If they never broke up we wouldn’t have gotten Alter Bridge or solo work, alot of good songs we would have never heard. Now the chemistry that made them who they are today can reunite to blow our fuckin minds away again. Who wouldn’t want to see this?

Oh yes! I grew up listening to Creed when I was in elementary school, and I can’t wait to hear them once again! 2009 is looking like a great year, Obama being Pres, me turning 18, and now Creed reuniting.

To Creed haters: You guys are just mad because half of you people are fans of bands NOBODY LIKES.

Steeley | 12/9/2008, 11:17 pm EST

Creed used to be my favorite band. Alter Bridge has been good – but not near as epic. I wish that both continue to exist together but that’s obviously impossible – so given the choice, I’m going to have to go with Creed.

Your Mom sb | 12/11/2008, 2:43 am EST

Wow this is rediculous I just heard about this and already there are about a million negative post online. I am a huge Creed fan as well as AB and SS. I still have my original “My Own Prison” CD from 1997. I like other music too though and I think that its sad that someone has to shit on a band because you dont like them or their type of music. Maybe your pissed because your not famous. Heres the facts if you dont like creed “DONT LISTEN TO THEM.” and find better things to do with your time than talking shit on other people..like getting off your sister or looking for a job.

Me | 12/11/2008, 5:20 pm EST

Obama gets elected and Creed get back together. It’s like the best thing to happen to America followed by the worst. His first challenge in office will be to ensure this does not happen.

Floyd | 12/13/2008, 11:11 pm EST

Creed reunion huh? Well its not the worst thing that could have happened. At least some of that rap and R&B garbage may take a back seat for a while. At least Metallica shut them up for a few weeks. Not sure Osama Obama will have much say, since he’s probably a Kenny G fan club member.

2 ALL THE HATERS OF THE HATERS | 12/14/2008, 10:04 pm EST

THIS IS TO ALL THE PEOPLE WHO ARE HATING ON THE PEOPLE WHO ARE HATING ON CREED:

I USED TO BE A HUGE HUGE CREED FAN, TOO. AND I’D GO SEE A CREED CONCERT IN A MINUTE…..IF IT WAS THE CREED FROM 1997-2001. I’D SEE THE CREED THAT TOURED IN SUPPORT OF ‘MY OWN PRISON’ AND ‘HUMAN CLAY’. BUT HONESTLY: HAVE YOU ALL HEARD SCOTT STAPP TRY AND SING RECENTLY? IF NOT, PLEASE VISIT HIS MYSPACE PAGE AND SEE FOR YOURSELF THAT HIS VOICE IS GONE, GONE, GONE. HE CAN’T SING WORTH A DAMN ANYMORE.

T-roy | 12/16/2008, 5:21 pm EST

Ok-I read the whole blog and there are some serious errors on this. First Tremonti did NOT write all the songs but “My Own Prison”-did any of you all watch “Behind The Music”? Stapp was writing the whole time he was in college and was the driving force behind all the lyrics in that band-they were ALL his-also if you go see Stapp on solo tour he sings Creed songs-why? Cause he WROTE THEM.
And as to the guy from 311-I read multiple reports on that bar fight and Stapp had all 3 of them on him and he managed to send 2 of them to the hospital-and he was drunk-imagine if he was sober-ha ha!
Creed sold over 30 million copies with only 3 albums-and like it or not were probably the last ROCK BAND to sell Diamond level (10 Million)
They are a force in rock music that only Linkin Park I think has surpassed for live shows and fan loyalty. And YES I saw Alterbridge and you guys are NUTS if you can sit and listen to their singer for more than an hour-he gives me a massive headache. I agreed with the statement if someone else would have been singing for Alterbridge I think they would be more successful.
AND I saw STP in Houston and the show was PACKED to the gills-but Weiland was STONED off his ass and the show suffered.
Creed will sell out every show-

Marko | 12/21/2008, 9:32 am EST

Creed were a very good band, I just hope stapp can still sing.

yes please | 12/21/2008, 1:33 pm EST

creed kicked ass. ab is good but creed without scott stapp just isnt right. you can change the name but its still the same band. miles is a good enough singer to put out some music but stapp has the voice and the charisma and you need both to be great. i cant wait for a creed reunion tour. i missed my chance to see them before and would love to see them in concert now.

Chuck Norris | 12/22/2008, 5:23 am EST

Creed reunion! This is huge. Alter Bridge fans; Sorry, that is a failed project and it’s time for Creed to reclaim their spot as the premier rock band. To the negative posters; GET LOST! The musical and lyrical quality that Creed has produced time and time again is not in dispute. 30 million albums sold, seven #1 songs, grammy award, enough said. The people have spoken, so deal with it and go comment elsewhere. Go to a Sarah Plain rally or whatever you brainless idiots do in your spare time.

SnoochyBooch | 12/24/2008, 3:14 pm EST

I’ve not read all the comments on this article. I’m sure there are many posts going on about how horrible Scott Stapp is. I want to say I’ve followed Stapp’s career since Creed broke up, what with his solo album and all the crap that’s happened since Creed. Of course he became an arrogant, drunken bastard. That was horrible and it seems nobody is willing to look past that.
I really didn’t expect anything else to happen, if you were the lead singer of a band that was that successful I’m sure similar things would have happened. Everyone makes mistakes, we are all human.
Even when all this was going on I didn’t let it bother how I viewed the music, let the artists live however they want to, the music is all that matters to me. Until all that started to affect the band and the band’s sound that is. Things are different for Stapp now, he seems to be a completely different person than he was in those past years, and I love his new music. Trust me when I say he still has his voice, that’s not gone anywhere but up.
I also love what Alter Bridge has accomplished, Myles Kennedy is an amazing vocalist and a great musician. With Alter Bridge Tremonti , Phillips, and Marshall have had the opportunity to grow as musicians and do what they wanted to with the music with nothing holding them back (other than the label of course :P )
I love the music.
I didn’t think that Tremonti and the others where even on good terms with Stapp since the band ended the way it did. Maybe they were able to forgive and look past all that happened years ago, idk, but if by some chance this happened. I would be more than excited, If they could come together and focus on the music
it would be truly amazing what could be achieved. Then maybe the listeners would be able to forgive and forget, to focus on the music and look forward and not behind.
I remember how Creed was in it’s prime, the passion you could feel behind the music and the power that came off the stage. If I could experience that just one more time I would be happy.
Well see what happens I suppose, either way I am always going to remain a fan to both Alter Bridge and Stapp and just enjoy the music that is spawned from both.

I really liked Creed. They were a great band and made some awesome music. I am now a huge AB fan. The music has more depth now that there is another guitar player and would hate to see that ruined. I think Tremonti has really grown as a guitar player too. If Creed wants to get together for money reasons and fans want to go see it. So be it. However, if Tremonti allows AB to dismantle because of this, I will lose all respect for whatever band comes out of it. Fans aren’t yo’yo’s. So… Let there be ROCK!!

I saw Creed back in the day before they made it big (while touring My Own Prison) and they were one of the best I had ever seen. Saw them later when the album became a huge hit and they were even better! I think Scott Stapp became an egomaniac but the band itself were awesome. I thought the combination of Scott and Mark was phenominal. Great music you can sing along to and rockin’ riffs! I’m not ashamed to say I am/was a fan!

You read or heard about the possibility of a reunion and were interested for a reason, beacuse you like them. Nothing wrong with it. I need a good concert with a band from that era. The new shit out their kills me. CREED.CREED.CREED

Sam | 1/15/2009, 11:56 pm EST

This is amazing. With Scott Stapp’s outstanding voice and Mark Tremonti’s, Scott Phillips’, and Brian Marshall’s incredible instrumental/musical talents, there’s no doubt they’re going to be that inspirational band again that they once were. It’s great to finally be able to get the chance to hear some new, awesome material .
To everyone who thinks this is a wrong career-based decision for the members of Alter Bridge, I hope you don’t think of that because of what Scot Stapp has done in his past. Remember this: that WAS his PAST. He’s completely turned his life around in a new and different direction and he is now a changed man (take a look at some recent interviews and his recent shows; he’s been performing for the army troops, and his voice has only gone up from where he left off with Creed. I mean, come on, his solo record is/was fantastic!).
So I’m really hoping that they actually follow up with this! Not so they can bring all the fans to a high-level of excitement, only for us to be in huge disappointment if it doesn’t happen. Creed was an awesome band, and if they can get back together, who knows what kind of incredible, unbelievable music they can create once again.

Nick from DK.. | 1/20/2009, 5:43 pm EST

I don’t see what the fuck you problems are, if you don’t like the music, why do you listen to it, or even read about.
Let those who like’s this music, hear it, and others just go away.
And no one can say Creed is a shitty band, they greated some excellent musik, that really touch you, and every person in this fucked up world, has different taste in everthing, you can’t find to person that likes the exact same, so fucker’s that write shit about Creed, get the hell out..
Over and out.

Kristopher | 1/28/2009, 11:47 am EST

Ok, I am not excited about Creed getting together for money reasons. I am excited for Creed getting together again because of the music they created.

Sure, they became a pop culture staple and were played to death on the radio. But what the haters don’t understand is the deep lyrics and tracks they laid down in that short amount of time.

If you doubt or hate, go back and listen to the unreleased to the radio tracks and tell me they are useless.

I was able to finally see them on their “Weathered” tour. They played 2 hours straight and came out and did another 45 minutes. I mean seriously rocked! Scott’s voice did not waiver one bit. The energy in the Xcel center in Minneapolis was enough to make the dead rise again.

Back to my excitement.. I have had my fingers crossed for a reunion. Weathered didn’t seem like that great of an album because everyone based it all off of My Sacrifice. Listen to the whole fucking thing, as well as the other albums, before hating. If it still isn’t your thing, so be it. We all have different tastes. You enjoy yours and we will enjoy ours!

Robert | 1/29/2009, 1:46 pm EST

This is Robert again, Creed haters get lost. although I want to know when the tour starts and where they are going. (go to Denver) lol. also, How much are the tickets going to probally cost?

Bow To Creed | 2/1/2009, 11:13 am EST

You cannot listen to What’s This Life For? or Faceless Man…and not be moved by the melodies and the lyrics. There aren’t any bands out there right now that can not only project a positive message and influence but also rock out hard core. I’m sick of hearing about drugs, alcohol, and sex in lyrics. Creed made this world a better place. Seriously. They didn’t claim to be a religious band but they influenced the secular world in a positive way. Plus Scott Stapp’s hair is second only to Jesus.

Robert | 2/3/2009, 1:55 pm EST

To the post I see on the internet of the negitive posts about a Creed reuion, they all seem to be the same in some certain way. they don’t claim why exactly like beating around the bush. my guess is the really do think Creed is a Christan band. They claim they are not. period. till they say otherwise, they are not.

also, I am not going to bet on this but i am guessing most of them are worshiping the devil. (I am putting it in these terms to be clear and so everybody knows what I am talking about). if so, based on saying that, you are a minority. get over yourselfs. get up and smell the roses. you act like you know everything, but you really don’t. thats the way I see it.

also note: this is the site where more positive posts are. hmm, the only post where nobody is fighting them back on this subject…. hmm makes you think dosn’t it?

ladyofthestars@mac.com | 2/12/2009, 10:12 pm EST

I am a big fan. It s mutual and he has those
Italian eyes so you have to say very very
nice things about Scott always or else.

blake | 2/17/2009, 1:20 pm EST

Nothing against creed. I actually liked them. But i like myles kennedy much more as a singer and think mark was held back as a guitarist in creed. But i wish all of them the best of luck.

Taimoor Gul in Pakistan | 2/19/2009, 4:45 am EST

Creed is welcome back yeah. Alter Bridge to ends plzzzzzzzzzzzzz. Scott Stapp Plz go back Creed ;-)

sebastian | 2/27/2009, 7:27 am EST

Tez33r | 3/1/2009, 3:51 am EST

Can you take me Hiyaa, to a place where blind men see!

JebusFreaky | 3/2/2009, 6:22 pm EST

They’re not christian, scott stapp cut his hair, and god doesn’t exist to answer prayers now everyone back to work…

noah and gavin and blair | 3/9/2009, 11:32 am EST

sorryy

F*** CREED!! | 3/17/2009, 11:24 am EST

Alter Bridge is not a side project, and the only reason Mark, Brian, and Scott would subject themselves to dealing with that jerk is to make some money in order to continue making GOOD music with Alter Bridge. Stapp will most likely ruin this endeavor like everything else in his life. Creed WAS great. They WERE on top of the world. It WAS an amazing thing to experience. But those days are long gone, and the poor reception from a tour will show that. Stapp will shortly go back to being a laughing-stock of the music industry, and the AB guys will continue to make great music with the incredible talent, Myles Kennedy. ALTER BRIDGE FOREVER!!!!!!

Rock_chick | 3/21/2009, 9:49 am EST

This reunion is the original lineup. RS could at least post a photo with all 4 original members. Brian Marshall was the one who named the band and his unique bass sounds are what drove that rhythmic sounds on the first 2 albums.

Alter Bridge forever | 3/25/2009, 5:16 pm EST

Rolling Stone would report false news and then make a stupid comment about Creed in the closing sentence. I wonder what it is like to have absolutely no journalistic credibility.

Bob | 3/25/2009, 7:57 pm EST

If Creed get back together then Mark, Brian and Flip are sell outs.

Anonymous | 3/26/2009, 9:21 pm EST

Obviously the people that think Myles Kennedy sounds better than Scott Stapp also have hearing problems. The problems that the Creed had in the past are just that, in the past. They were an awesome group, and no matter who was at fault they are all humans and entitled to make bad choices or make mistakes. These people are not gods or immortals, so let them be human.

Joan | 4/6/2009, 1:30 am EST

You have got to be kidding!

CREED/ALTERBRIDGE FAN | 4/12/2009, 11:57 am EST

as a fan of creed a real fan i would love to see them back together even for a short while i dnt beleieve some of these reports about scott i enjoyed his solo album and even alterbridge’s first album was creed with a new singer it was not until myles started makin an imput that we saw a different band come together, you cannot compare both singers as they both have great voices and i would not call them sell outs if they get back together so if you think the reunion is a bad idea then your not a real fan and let us real fans enjoy it

dude | 4/27/2009, 4:57 pm EST

so is this the end for alter bridge then? and a permanant creed reunion?

indydood | 4/27/2009, 5:59 pm EST

Wow!….the sentiment here puts Creed in the same popularity niche with Vanilla Ice.

Anonymous | 4/28/2009, 1:10 pm EST

reading pro-creed blurbs makes me laugh hard

Creedisthebestbandever | 4/29/2009, 10:10 am EST

the soaring guitar riffs… thundering bass drums…. and face melting vocals of scott stapp…. if God has a favorite band it surely must be Creed

sam2150 | 4/29/2009, 12:49 pm EST

Scott Stapp is no where near Myles Kennedy.
Myles is in a league of his own you obviously haven’t hear him sing or play the guitar and on stage he doesn’t make a complete idiot of himself unlike Stapp.
Enough of this creed crap already.
I read somewhere there is a long term contract thing with creed that’s why they’re making this tour.

Robert | 4/29/2009, 6:18 pm EST

its officle the reuion is on

joe | 4/30/2009, 8:37 pm EST

its awsome creeds back on and alter bridge isnt letting up either supposivley they are still going to record the third album after the tour

rckr4life | 5/1/2009, 11:13 am EST

You know it isn’t really about which band is better or not. Personally I think Myles Kennedy is a better singer than Scott Stapp, but that is what my ears like, yours may think otherwise. I am only hoping that Alter Bridge continues on and at the same time if Creed comes my way I will go see them..:) Ultimately if one thing should stand out, Mark T. and the gang could put a screaming cat in front of an audience and make it sound good (j/k). On a serious note, there is a lot of talent in the group and I enjoy both bands. Peace

Anonymous | 5/6/2009, 11:58 pm EST

these 4 finally came to their senses! This is the best damn thing they could have ever done!!! absence make the heart grow fonder!!! I think they they made better music together than apart! Their other music was really good but as a 4 some noone will be able to touch them!!! Thier dieheart fans will be so greatful for their reunion/rebirth!!! Ive been a fan for quite a while and this has been the best news ive heard in a very very long time! Thank you guys I am sooo ready for whats to come!!!!!!

J and T | 5/7/2009, 8:27 am EST

We are excited that Creed is getting bk 2gether. No matter who is playing in the band. They are a gr8 group and if u don’t like it well guess what life gones on. We c that they are coming to Dallas in Sept. This is going to be a great anniversary gift for us.

srpickles | 5/9/2009, 1:26 am EST

Take a look at history-making bands like The Eagles, Van Halen, The Police, Guns and Roses. All have split due to highly volatile personal differences, specifically involving the lead singer/artist. In Creed’s case, I believe Stapp was unfairly scrutinized because of the subject matter he chose to write about. Perhaps it is assumed a rock star who passionately writes about spiritual beliefs should lead a flawless lifestyle. Let’s face it, even believers are human; and believers who make mistakes shouldn’t be held under larger microscopes than the rest of the rock community. I believe the degree of criticism Stapp was subject to was entirely perpetuated by the media; a discrimination of sorts and the public sucked it all in. The question of why is a challenging question in terms of where we are as a society; where screwing up and being proud of it is OK but doing the same because of human weakness is not.
The bottom line is Stapp is a creative songwriter who ingeniously brought the rock and roll masses into the realization that songs can have deeper spiritual meaning. Together with Tremonti’s hard-etched musical interpretation, great songs were created.
I hope this reunion is truly about creative reconnection and not entirely about generating a money machine, although that is likely the largest driver for both the band and all other interested parties. It’s the American way.
If a fraction of the former is true, we may experience a Creed more mature and reflective, who will produce songs that will endure the test of time. I’m keeping my fingers crossed.

Probable cause | 5/11/2009, 1:56 pm EST

Creed were a very talented band, including Scott Stapp. It gets forgotten, because Stapp’s vocal performances and behavior worsened, but actually when he was composed he was a very good singer who came up with some excellent vocal melodies and lyrics.

unity | 5/11/2009, 10:27 pm EST

I really like alter bridge, and loved creed. I think that one more go-round for creed is perfect. And Rolling Stone, please do not insult creed by comparing them to nickelback- that is ridiculous.

Dan | 6/29/2009, 10:12 pm EST

it went a little something like this.

*ring ring*
“hello?”
“Mark, its Scott.”
“umm… what do you want?”
“Well… im broke. and your in a good band… ive done nothing since creed… and i was wondering if you want to do a reuniton tour”
“umm… no… f*ck off”
“but Mark, if we dont then im going to have to work in McDonalds”
“but you sound like you have a golf ball in your mouth when you sing”
“yeah i know… maby Myles can teach me to sing”
“Umm… i dont think so”
“look… if you do it… then il dissapear and wont bother you again”
“PROMISE!?”
“yeah i promise… pinky promise”
“ummm… i guess so (with gritted teeth)”
“oh awesome! and while were talking let me tell you about God…”
*click*
*Drrrrrrrrrrrr rrrrrrrrrrrrrrr*

HellSlayer | 7/6/2009, 3:18 am EST

We always have to make personal attacks don’t we? You couldn’t leave it at I do not like His music could you? You had to bring my God into it. Why mention God if you do not believe? Does He threaten you in some shape or form? Scott has talent and so does the rest of the band. Since you guys wanted to bring God into it, I will share something with you. The truth is the truth if you like it or not. Calling Stapp names and mocking God wont change that fact.

kashyap | 7/23/2009, 2:01 pm EST
