Remember Matt — that guy who did a goofy little jig in countries all over the world in a surprisingly touching video that went superviral earlier this year? Well, the ante has just been upped.
Perfect for the holiday season, the following clip will turn the Scroogiest, coldest-hearted, tightest-fisted, coal-blackest soul into a quivering mushy pile of crybaby. (If you’re the type of person who gets teary-eyed watching Hallmark commercials, stop reading right now.) Produced by a group called Playing for Change — which describes itself as “a multimedia movement created to inspire, connect, and bring peace to the world through music” — it’s a simple video of people scattered across the world playing Ben E. King’s “Stand By Me.” Sounds corny as all hell, right? Wrong! Watch it — you’ll feel like you were touched by an angel. A musical angel made out of hope and humanity.
