Madonna’s Sticky & Sweet tour grossed $91.5 million during its recently concluded U.S. run. According to Live Nation, which signed the Material Girl to a massive 360 contract, Madonna’s U.S. jaunt sold about 550,000 tickets over the course of 28 shows. The tour wrapped up its American itinerary last Wednesday with a show at Miami’s Dolphin Stadium. Including the European concerts that preceded the American dates, the Sticky & Sweet tour has thus far grossed $207.5 million in ticket sales alone. Madonna played two shows in Mexico City this past weekend and will head south to Latin and South America, concluding her tour in Sao Paolo, Brazil on December 18-21. If all goes to plan, the Hard Candy-supporting trek will take in an estimated $282 million, making it the top grossing tour ever by both a female artist and a solo artist, which will no doubt help Madonna brush off her recent divorce settlement.

Every aspect of music will now increase in its corporate structure and remoteness from the artist. Definetly what the muic biz needs to entice disenchanted fans.

What were ticket prices? Also, the picture above with this article made me toss my breakfast. What an ideal parent.

Madonna’s minions made her millions. No doubt that’s what she had to pay to get inducted into the rock and roll hall of fame.

rickyluvsit | 12/1/2008, 2:41 pm EST

The ticket prices ranged from $55-350. I went to see her at the Dodger Stadium! She is an amazing performer! Queen of Pop!

Material girl | 12/1/2008, 10:02 pm EST

Madonna has a total of 53 concerts and everyone’s talking abut her but, they forgot that Celine Dion has a concert tour of 131 concerts for 12 months only from february 2008 to february 2009.Celine done 100 concerts until now(Africa,Asia,Australia,Euro pe,North America…)and she still has to do 31 concerts.Like Madonna, Celine has numerous concerts sold out but Madonna’s tickets are more expensive then other artists and that’s why she always winning.

MADONNA!! | 12/1/2008, 10:13 pm EST

wow, i like her and accept her success
unlike *cough* some of bitches out here…

Katie | 12/1/2008, 10:42 pm EST

Madonna rocks. I know that some rock purists have always resented a pop star being given accolades but this chick has earned it. She deserves all the credit she gets.

KL | 12/1/2008, 11:57 pm EST

We have to wait other offical resources ,who gives the informations about all concerts tours to confirm whose tour is top grossing.Don’t rush,Live Nation is her promoter.

Bae | 12/2/2008, 12:32 pm EST

Doesnt matter what she charges.. she is able to sell not only major sports arenas but now football stadiums. Her show was hot

Peter | 12/2/2008, 2:15 pm EST

Madonna is not the only female singer who can sell out concerts everywhere,a few females singers also done that this year.

Jansen | 12/2/2008, 4:12 pm EST

She deserves it. She is the queen, never having a breakdown and always staying true to herself, no matter what ANYBODY says, she will do what she wants.

Blanco | 12/2/2008, 5:08 pm EST

would she reach those numbers if all ticekts were 100 bucks like springsteen ?
and with 2 1/2 hour shows at least … and with no playback, and at 59 …
here in sao paulo she has 3 nights at 70 k people each, plus 2 in Rio de Janeiro.plus Argentina and Chile, that´ll make the difference.
i´m goin to her show, to be with my wife, but i´d rather see bruce.
Bruce never toured here, well, good for her …

Christy | 12/2/2008, 6:09 pm EST

Hey, I like Madonna too, but, like Blanco, I’d much rather see Springsteen, beacause not only is he just the most phenominal performer to exist, but I can actually afford to see his shows, unlike Madonna, where tickets prices range from about $55-$400 or more. But I’m sure she’s a great performer. But that photo is just a bit revealing. But hey, kudos to you Madonna, you rock.

Madge ain’t a rocker, she’s an overrated pop star/uhber celebrity. She’s a publicity machine. Some of her songs are alright, but I’ve never understood her popularity. It’s a shame that her music isn’t enough and that she has to put on a big production and pass the cost onto her fans.Go see Springsteen after you’ve seen Madge, then get back to me as who the real rock performer is, and who really cares about their fans.

Why would anybody have anything against Madonna these days? In one of the most rough economic times in World history, she’s raking in the bucks. Her brand still sells, so why change it – even if it makes us toss our lunch. Good for you Madonna! You should be president. Perhaps we can get our economy back on track.

hayden | 12/5/2008, 2:44 pm EST

GREAT JOB MADONNA. I SAW THIS SHOW IN NYC IN OCTOBER AND SHE DESERVES EVERY PENNY, AWARD AND PRAISE SHE’S RECEIVING. I’M SURE MARIAH CAREY AND JANET JACKSON MUST BE FURIOUS AND THROWING A FIT, NEITHER EVER HAD A TOUR COME EVEN A 1/3 NEAR TO WHAT MADONNA MAKES, AND THIS YEAR MARIAH CAN’T FIND A BACKER FOR HER TOUR AND JANET HAD TO CANCELL HERS DO TO LACK OF SALES. MAYBE THESE TWO WANNA BEES CAN TAKE A LESSON FROM MADONNA, WORK HARD, PRODUCE GREAT SONGS AND SUCCESS WILL FOLLOW.

Cristian | 12/5/2008, 6:58 pm EST

Madonna’s concerts are an event, you don’t seat down, your up dancing from start to finish. I will pay $1000 to see her if I have to. I seen, billy joel, tina turner, moby, janet, cher, placido domingo, julio iglesias, duran duran, and many other artist live and Madonna by far is the best. She works hard, she deserves every penny.

Allan | 4/13/2009, 8:46 pm EST

Madonna has long been known as the biggest rip off in live music. Most of her show is mimed …her guitar that she appears to play is played by a musician at the side of the stage…hers is not plugged in. I’ve seen it myself and this is confirmed by direct from a buddy who works with the sound engineer from the shwo…all she does actually do live is dance ….and she charges how much for that ??…its time Madonna was outed
