I guess no one remembers this band that fought against napster, which, like it or not, introduced many people to new bands, songs, etc (Metallica’s work to younger folk). I’m not advocating stealing music, but they should have tried to work with the record companies on how to make a profit from napster vs. fighting a lost cause. Now pirating is everywhere. Who cares as long as they keep making music. Death Magnetic gets better and better the more I listen to it. Nobody can create that classic Metallica sound! Nobody! DM is aggressive and technical like Justice but has the rythym of the Black album.

media always seems to focus or imply that the only reason metallica sued napster was because of sharing their music (in general) for free…but they never seem to mention that it all was because a song they haven’t even finished for a single (i dissapear) was leaked and shared through napster damaging their creative process

lars is the most overrated, single-dimension drummer of any band besides the douche from hootie. not only can just play double bass fast, he is just a prick. it was great back in the day when fans traded demo cassettes and filled venues to help propel metallica, but once they got rich and famous, that same practice (albeit on the web) was boo-hoo’d by the “poor” lras. nice.

oh and for those that dont know anything about the rec industry – metallica gets a flat sum plus bonuses to make records. they arent like a garage band that has to pay back 400k based on 10 cents per cd sold. they get paid like movie stars, athletes. guranteed money whether the record sells or not. so why the hell does he care people downloaded tunes? i just hate him with everything i have

Finest Metallica moment…Sitting all night through Bridge School benefit listening to Metallica fans whine about the other bands…then Metallica comes out and plays almost all covers (acoustic of course). Not only did most of the old baby boomer non-fans leave, but many of the Metallica fans (around us at least) left too…Glad to see the band still has a few tricks up their sleeves, even if it doesn’t (especially if?) it doesn’t please the masses.

I live in IRAN and here is no posiblity to get the CD of album and of cource it`s very expensive for us to buy an album.But as real fan of METALLICA Iprefer that the albums release on CD it`s really better and more officially for such agreat or greatest band
