With Chinese Democracy fever sweeping across the country, Axl Rose’s old Guns N’ Roses band mate Duff McKagan has commented on the album’s self-titled single. “I just heard the single, ‘Chinese Democracy’, and I heard it at the gym when I was working out. It wasn’t like I sat down in a quiet room and listened to it and analyzed it. And I probably wouldn’t. I think [Axl’s] a really talented guy and I shared a big part of my life with him, but that was a long time ago for me,” McKagan said. “I’ve been asked more about this record, starting about 8-9 years ago, and I probably know the least about the record.” Also not swept up in the whole Chinese Democracy fervor: China. According to reports, G’N'R fans in China have blocked from the album’s official website and can’t use their search engines to find “Chinese Democracy.” Whether this countrywide firewall of the terms “Chinese Democracy” predates the album is unclear, but the band’s MySpace page with its full album stream is still accessible. “This is the first time we’ve heard about it,” a Ministry of Culture spokeswoman said regarding a possible ban. “I don’t know if they’re banned or not. It might be a rumor.”

I just got back China, and I was disappointed because I was hoping to buy it, and frame it with the receipt. It would have been priceless!

i love axl for being the the man he is……you know, the guy who leaves you saying ” you never know what your going to get w/ him?” he is the true defenition of a great front man……from all the rebelious, asshole volitale emotions, to the rebelious f*ck you attitude growing up, to the pre madonna diva attitude he had of the early 90’s, to the genius talented person he is! But i have in common w/ the rest of you……the fantasy of this album being the savior of the pit that music is day. i wanted nothing more than that trust me people! but after listning to that album i believe it is a semi decent most likely over hyped album? to each his own opinion…..but for the most part it is to all over the place…….it’s this one track and it’s this another and it’s this there. i’m ok w/ that but all of you talking this album up are the same folks that critisized scott and the other old gn”r bandmates for not putting out the same follow up album to contraband w/ libertad? the only difference is libertad nor contraband took 14 or so yrs. to be released……nor did it have about 1,000 different musicians who had a hand in on it? so stop being hypocritical folks…….musicans have the rite to explore and release feelings and emotions that they go through as they get older…….hince axl is in his late 40’s know and does not have the angst of a 18 y/o runnaway anymore, nor is he poor and ruffing it, nor is he doped up the way he used to be? there lifes are much different as well as the rest of the boys in VR. if your 40 and still doing and writting tunes about what you were doing when you were 18 then you need to grow up? like i said this album is mediocre at best and way over hyped? axl is old and boring, and not to mention axl….you need to scale down the band a little? nobody needs 5 guitar players to make a mediocre sound. what’s next your going to share vocals w/ bono? talk about gay. wake up people and see past the hype. -kj
