In case you missed its debut at the Barack Obama rally or during halftime of the Dallas Cowboys/Washington Redskins game, Bruce Springsteen’s new single “Working On A Dream” is streaming now over at Q104.3’s Website. The song is also available for free download on Monday, November 24th at iTunes and BruceSpringsteen.net.

As reported earlier this week, the track will be the first single off Working On A Dream, Springsteen’s 24th album, due out January 27th. The album was produced and mixed by Brendan O’Brien. The 12-song album will also feature “The Wrestler,” Springsteen’s contribution to the film of the same name, as a bonus track. Based on an updated track list on Springsteen’s site, it seems his recent Halloween present “A Night With the Jersey Devil,” originally slated as a bonus track, has been removed.

C’mon Brucie, this is generic AOR creampuff material. Lemme write a great bar band anthem…no way would I play this crap on my Underground Radio show.

I’m working on a dream where Brendan O’Brien’s head is my snare drum. Couldn’t you have come up with something more interesting for me to do, Boss?

Clarence's Clemons | 11/21/2008, 2:13 pm EST

Am I still in the band?

Gary W Tallent | 11/21/2008, 2:15 pm EST

C’mon, guys, can’t we just be happy we’re working on SOMETHING?!? I spent so many years in my house smashing it waiting for Bruce to call I was ready for the Fists of Fury Tournament. Now I got a JOB!

Roy Bittan | 11/21/2008, 3:22 pm EST

Ahh come on guys, we should be thankful were playing music for such a musical genius like Bruce. Were gonna be playing to 150 million people come the 1st of February! The song is good. especially the way my piano is as loud in the mix as the guitars. That damb Radio Nowhere, its like Im not in the band.

Will The Thrill | 11/21/2008, 7:17 pm EST

Wow, I love Bruce and most of the music he creates, but this is kinda boring. Hopefully the rest of the album won’t be like this single.

You can download it for free today on itunes or on brucespringsteen.net.
And the guy who thinks he is clever is obviously a MONSTER bruce fan. He appreciates your business.

Boring garbage | 11/24/2008, 1:36 pm EST

this song is boring, and it sounds like the same ol crap from the man peope to refer to as “The Boss”.
The boss of what? Making generic
music?…this song is horrible…
maybe he should start working on retiring…

Booose | 11/24/2008, 4:02 pm EST

Seems like the Boss is going through the motions. Release another sub par record then tour to cash in on playing the oldies to his disciples. He needs to stay away and release a relevant record for his audience and build up a demand for his concerts. Take a page out of the U2 textbook (who stole the notes to the Bruce textbook from the 70s + 80s).

Aaron | 11/24/2008, 4:27 pm EST

I actually think this song is pretty good. Hope this one is a masterpiece like Magic was.

Julianne Phillips | 11/24/2008, 4:37 pm EST

Bruce who?

Roy Orbison | 11/24/2008, 5:14 pm EST

What does everyone think of my new song?

Marc from California | 11/24/2008, 6:07 pm EST

Okay, I’ll admit it… “Working On A Dream” is a pop song, pure and simple. AND YET… what about The River record or the Born In The USA record? Those were full of “pop” songs and not many people moaned and groaned then.

And, for those of you impersonating the E Street Band members, I have this to say: “Grow up and get a life.”

dsl89 | 11/24/2008, 10:14 pm EST

That wasn’t that good…I love Bruce and have all his studio LPs, but I think he’s gotta move on from O’Brian…it’s gotten really boring over the past decade.

harpo | 11/25/2008, 4:24 pm EST

Bruce is the new spokesman for Kool-aid….the CD should be Jim Jonesian…don’t you think??

Ricardo Odoni - BRASIL | 1/7/2009, 6:21 am EST
