- We are T-minus two days away from the release of Guns N’ Roses’ Chinese Democracy. The week started with a new single called “Better,” then Axl Rose unleashed the whole album stream on MySpace, which promptly broke records. Plus, we discussed Chinese Democracy in our New Music Report and former Gunners Izzy Stradlin and Steven Adler weighed in on Axl’s long-awaited opus.
- As hinted, Bruce Springsteen revealed he will release his new album Working On A Dream on January 27th. The album’s title track also hit radios. And to see how Bruce voted on his 100 Greatest Singers ballot, check out hand-written picks here.
- Paul McCartney teased Beatles fans everywhere with a 14-minute unreleased Fab Four song entitled “Carnival of Light,” with Macca reportedly in the process of getting permission to release the jam that was deemed “too adventurous” for the Anthology series. While you hold your breath, you can stream McCartney’s new album Electric Arguments with side project the Fireman.
- The AV department was kept busy this week as we talked with Wayne Coyne about the Flaming Lips’ bizarro film Christmas On Mars, got a first look at Paramore’s upcoming live DVD The Final Riot, filmed the Kaiser Chiefs in a special Smoking Section performance and laughed at Britney Spears doing impressions of her dad from For the Record.
