• Beck will reportedly collaborate with singer/actress Charlotte Gainsbourg on her second album. “I was supposed to work on her last album but I couldn’t get over there,” Beck said. Beck’s father did handle the string arrangements on Gainsbourg’s debut 5:55.
• To celebrate what would have been Jim Morrison’s 65th birthday, famed L.A. hangout Barney’s Beanery will dedicate a plaque on the exact spot where Morrison urinated on the bar in the late ’60s. Also, the Doors‘ Robby Krieger and Ray Manzarek will be on hand to sign the band’s new Live at the Matrix.
• Motörhead will appear in the unlikeliest of places when their song “Dog-Face Boy” appears in a scene in the upcoming Disney movie Bolt. “It’s never too early to get the kids started on our music,” Lemmy said.
• The Clipse will release their new mixtape Road To Till The Casket Drops on December 1st to mark the release of their clothing lines, Play Cloths. The rap duo’s third album is due out in March.
