The release of Guns N’ Roses long-awaited Stradlin said in an interview that though he hasn’t heard all of Axl’s new record, he likes what he hears. Stradlin added that the rest of the former Gunners all stay pretty close, as he regularly collaborates with former bassist Duff McKagan and had recently planned to do a show with Slash. Of course, both Adler and Stradlin left Guns N’ Roses under acrimonious circumstances.

”Izzy playing on Slash’s solo gig”
That would be awesome, hope it gets rescheduled.

Adler’s arrest and plea is a big downer considering he seems like a stable influence in the current season of Celebrity Rehab. Sad stuff.

surforia | 11/17/2008, 12:26 pm EST

Poor steven adler… in Slash’s autobiography, he says Adler has succombed to using the following three drugs, and when he mixes all of them together, he can’t say no: Crack, Heroin, and Jaegermeister. For real, I was like “jaegermeister?!” Really?!!!
Poor guy should have just stuck with jaeger.

I saw Steven Adler performing sober at Rocklahoma this summer. He was awesome. I hope he hangs in there, he’s a truly great human being. Addiction is a powerful foe.

SO SERENE | 11/18/2008, 7:06 pm EST

Will someone please write in with current info on Steven Adler? You know—–along the line of his health, his plans for Adler’s Appetite,is he still together with his wife, etc. Thanks!

ford | 11/19/2008, 10:41 am EST

i live in vegas and saw adler at a local bar this summer, he was waisted, with some chick and they both kept going in the bathroom every 10 minutes or so. he was gambling, very loud and rude, ordered a bunch of food and refused to pay his bill, he looked very deranged.

birddogger | 11/21/2008, 1:58 pm EST

What’s sad is how several washed-up rockers did an “All-Stars” tour a few years ago, that included Adler, Jani Lane of Warrant, and Kevin DuBrow of Quiet Riot. Dubrow said in an interview he left the tour because he’s was trying to live healthy couldn’t deal with the chemical excesses of Lane and Adler. Obvioiusly the story played out a bit differently a few years later.

jason mewes | 11/22/2008, 4:21 pm EST

adler is a crackhead

daisyriva | 11/22/2008, 9:22 pm EST

I can’t stop thinking that after all we have come to learn and now know about drug dependency that there are still people out there willing to “Throw Stones within Glass Houses”. You can do it Steven!

Tiara | 11/29/2008, 9:08 pm EST

Is part of this news column missing? I see only Izzy’s comments. Adler MUST have also had a say….yes?

lexii. | 12/1/2008, 1:40 pm EST

I feel sorry for steven. has anyone seen celebrity’s rehab? i think we should support him not call him a junkie or a crackhead even if has problems.

hawk90 | 12/2/2008, 6:27 pm EST

I guess steven fooled eveybody into thinking he was a good guy… i guess I forgot I was watching a t.v. show… Steven should become an actor because he acted like an angel on celeb. rehab…..he had me fooled sad stuff!!

Slo-Poke | 12/3/2008, 9:41 pm EST

How has Steven Adler’s relapse (after having an almost life long addiction)been construed as him “acting” on Celeb. Rehab? Believe it or not, there are a lot of wonderful human beings who have succummed to addiction. I don’t think it was an act.He came across as being genuinely sweet and kind. I wish him well.

yaz | 12/4/2008, 3:21 pm EST

Adler walks & talks like he’s suffered brain damage. That’s sad stuff!

katie | 12/15/2008, 1:45 pm EST

It would be nice to see if Izzy, Slash, Duff ever got together again cause the 3 of are GREAT guitar players& had done some REALLY GOOD ALSOME guitar playing music together with thoses Guns N Roses albums they did together. They had done GREAT guitar music together with thoses Guns N Roses songs.

muzikfreek | 12/29/2008, 11:12 am EST

Adler suffered several strokes due to his drug problems… I think it’s pretty amazing he’s still walking, talking or drumming.

rocknrollchef | 1/10/2009, 11:48 am EST

Adler stayed at our Chicago studio for about 3 weeks off & on in fall 2007, and we had a chance to see everything up close & personal. Truth is, when he’s not using, he IS a truly sweet, funny guy – that is no act. And to hear him talk about his focus & motivation from when GNR were nobodies to becoming successful is really inspiring. Regardless of whatever may have happened after, every dream came true for him, and he did something 99.9% of all the musicians in the world can only hope for.

yayson | 1/21/2009, 4:57 pm EST

He could still kick Axl’s scrawny little hair braided, face lifted, Buckethead lovin’ ass!!!!!!!

bb | 1/25/2009, 9:03 am EST

I don’t know what to say… maybe the past should stay in the past… Don’t get me wrong, I would die to see at list a part of the old GNR together, but… I will die again if they disappoint me…

martin | 1/25/2009, 6:24 pm EST

the cd is a fukin piece of shit. axl is fat and sings like a woman.
this is not the gnr that i like. this is not guns n roses. this is a shit…

beth olson | 1/27/2009, 12:18 am EST

Yaz, do some research on strokes or CVA as we refer to them in the medical community. Steven suffered 2 of them and he is lucky to be alive. You could have one too someday and perhaps not do as well as Steven. I give Steven kudos for continuing his fight for sobriety. Relapse is sometimes part of recovery. I share his addiction, although I have been sober for 13 years now. It took me a few tries too, but I kept on trying and it has been worth the effort. I could not have done it without the much needed support and encouragement of my friends, rehab, NA, AA and of course my sponsor. Let us be supportive of Steven.

Rock Ta House | 1/27/2009, 10:48 am EST

G & R, along with a handful of other bands, were influential in how I lived and looked at my life. I will give anyone in that band a pass on their vices, even Axl. It is interesting to witness what makes some over achievers self destruct. It is as almost that the same component that makes them brilliant also supports their self destructive tendencies

All in all, I hope all the members of G & R the best. They are living life on their terms, for better or for worse. Imagine, living a life where you don’t have to wonder how many vacations days you have left.

Klash | 3/16/2009, 11:08 pm EST

axl should think of reuniting the original lineup becuz da new one sucks and da new guitarist arent shit compared 2 izzy, duff,or not even close 2 playin like SLASH

Torn Rose | 4/20/2009, 4:27 am EST

Guns n’ Roses are great with or without slash, yeah, it would be one of the greatest albums when they get together, but, i think chinese democracy is one of the greatest albums ever made……

budie collins | 4/25/2009, 2:32 am EST

first of all GUNS aint shit with out slash,………….cant hold rythem without izzy, cant keep steady beats without duff, and does not know how to be rockstars without steven, so fuck the new album it sucks and it always will suck ILL BE FAIR ….GUNS COULD BACK WITHOUT SLASH ONLY MAYBE WITH FUCKING JIMI HENDRIX AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

budie collins | 4/25/2009, 2:33 am EST

first of all GUNS aint sH*&&^t with out slash,………….cant hold rythem without izzy, cant keep steady beats without duff, and does not know how to be rockstars without steven, so f*$#K the new album it sucks and it always will suck ILL BE FAIR ….GUNS COULD BACK WITHOUT SLASH ONLY MAYBE WITH F$**^KING JIMI HENDRIX AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

GNR4EVER | 5/7/2009, 10:02 am EST

It was obvious that the original band would explode and break up, that nervous we dont give a fuck atmosphere is what made the band exciting! If they had of managed to release one more “quality” album with at least Izzy, duff, slash and axl on board in the mid 90’s and then went out on top it would of been perfect.

However Chinese Democracy is still a great album and whoever says its not is full of shit, but its fair to say that the current group dont have that same star quality, gang mentality that the originals had, although that could change if they actually got on the road and did a world tour.

Matt Sorum | 8/1/2009, 1:17 am EST

Chinese Democracy is a great Album- but it’s an Axl Rose album. Without the writing of Izzy and Duff putting all the parts together- it’s really not GNR. I think SLash said in an interview the difference between him and buckethead was- Buckethead was a great technical guitarist, and that he (Slash) was a great band guitarist. Chinese Democracy is just that, very technical, f’in awesome and talented but not the raw sound everyone wants- I hope too they re-unite. All the best to Adler-

Long Live G-N-R memebers and band

daoldGNRrox | 9/4/2009, 7:12 pm EST

I wish i had a fuckin time machine so that i could watch the appetite line up play. Axl rose looks like horse shit now braded hair face lift and fat. HE KNOWS THAT CHINESE DEMOCRACY SUCKS AND SO DO ALL THE OTHER GUNS..THE OTHER GUNS JUST SAY THAT ITS GOOD BECUZ THEY DONT WANT PEOPLE TO THINK THAT THEY ARE JEALOUS WHICH THEY ARENT. I JUST WANT THE OTHER GUNS TO COME BACK TO GUNS N ROSES!
