Ticketmaster will eliminate the convenience fees on Eagles tickets for the band’s upcoming January 2009 shows. The move signifies “a collaborative effort by both the Eagles and Ticketmaster to provide the best consumer value and streamline the ticket buying process.” “The Eagles have long been committed to giving their loyal fans the best concert going experience,” says the band’s long-time manager and new Ticketmaster CEO Irving Azoff. “The Eagles use of ‘all-in ticketing’ is the first step in Ticketmaster’s transformation to an all-encompassing entertainment company to allow artists to connect to their fans in both new and innovative ways.” Possible other motives: We’re in the middle of a recession and people may be unwilling to pay $10 in needless fees, plus Ticketmaster might be attempting to reenter the good graces of concertgoers after years of convenience fees, Hannah Montana ordeals and “price gouging” accusations with the threat of Live Nation’s own ticketing service looming in the near future.

Thank goodness! Now it will only cost me $250 to see the Eagles.

The rich people that can afford $185 tickets to see the Eagles don’t give a crap about paying an extra $10 for TM convenience fees…..

It’s the kid who can’t afford the $10 fee on a $20 lawn ticket who needs some relief!

Way to go, Ticketmaster.

ain't that just special... | 11/12/2008, 11:21 pm EST

Now if they could drop those fees for EVERY show and not just the Eagles, I think we’ll be set.

i swear to God, the people that run…well, just about every company on earth simply DON’T KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING. OR THEY SIMPLY DON’T GIVE A F**K. people that buy eagles tickets ($250, folks) don’t care about fees. they can afford it. it’s the younger folks with less money that need relief from these stupid fees. and they don’t get relief. way to go, ticketmaster. you sure are on the cutting edge. once again, the little guy gets screwed. all in the name of good marketing.

f**k ticketbastard.

since Irv Azoff has been involved with the Eagles Mgt for years and is now CEO of ticketshiester a move has been made to make this a little better on you, the consumer.
consider it a gift.
they should drop the fees to a minimum for all shows as well, to woo buyers in attending.
the eagles have always had a high ticket price for their last couple of tours.
remember, when hell freezes over in ‘94.
well, guess what ?

I just bought a ticet to see Dylan in NYC.
The ticket cost $89. Okay, not a problem…it IS Dylan, after all.

But then Ticketmaster and UPS get their hands in the pot.

Ticketmaster charges me a nearly $12 “convenience” fee. What was the convenience? Ticketmaster was the ONLY way I could get the ticket. That’s not a convenience.

THEN UPS charges me another $14 for delivery. And that was their CHEAPEST option. No option to get my ticket online or through the postal service. I mean, okay, the time between the day the tickets went on sale and the day of the concert is relatively short, but these fees are ridiculous!

Well, that was dumb to pay $14 extra for UPS… in most cases you can get standard mail delivery for free… or Ticketfast for a few bucks…. and will-call pickup is also free… UPS is just wasteful.

you can get eagles for 77 and 112 each right now!
