R.E.M’s Michael Stipe is set to get his Project Runway on with a new line of shirts for gator-crested brand Lacoste. On the multi-colored printed polo, Stipe “created a monumental two tone photographic image depicting a crowd at a stadium concert from the perspective of a performer on the stage.” The image was originally used in the Visionaire 54 Sport issue. (We blogged about the awesome Visionaire 53 Sound here.) The polo is available for both sexes and comes in a multitude of colors: Ore, Rubine Red, Mother of Pearl and Palm Green. Only 12,000 shirts will be produced in the limited edition run. Unfortunately, you probably have to be a member of R.E.M. to actually afford one of these shirts, as the polo comes with a price tag of roughly $300. If you’re recession-proof, look for the shirt in Lacoste stores this month.
